I like the products here! But last time I came, we got our cheesecake pretty quick, which is nice, but we werent asked how many utensils we needed, nor were there any placed in our bag for us. Is this some sort of environmental-friendly initiative to save an plastic forks and knives? If so, please let us customers know to add a couple stars for service. Otherwise, it gives the impression that we customers should just be rushed away.If thats the case, can we have a robot kiosk take our order instead? Would save some workers from having to deal with us needy customers.

This was my first time trying Japanese Cheesecake and I was impressed. The texture resembles extremely smooth airy pound cake with a light cream cheese aftertaste unlike the heavy custard consistency of its Western counterpart. It still needs refrigeration since it contains cream cheese. For $12 its a good value and can be cut into four to six slices depending on the size of your group. In addition to in-person ordering they also offer next day online pickup on their website. Cant wait to try their other flavors. Located next to Din Tai Fung inside the Westfield Arcadia Mall.

Yes, it’s Uncle Tetsu, no, there was no line. Would I have waited in line for these cheesecakes anyway? Absolutely. Japanese cheesecake is nothing like American Cheesecake, it’s fluffy - airy - and with just enough of that cheese flavor to keep you reaching for more. My favorite way of enjoying it is having it chilled. Just a few hours in the fridge will do, the cheese flavor comes out stronger that way. It’s $12 a cake, with the pricer one being their basque running for $32. Cake size is basically individual portions because who’s going to be sharing? Overall, taste wise and service here and with every other location has been consistent. Will continue to come and indulge at Tetsu. :] RECOMMEND!

If you love spongy soft cake, Uncle Testu will hit the spot. Cant speak too much for the atmosphere since its located in a mall. Definitely try to make a pit stop if youre in the Santa Anita mall. Its close to Di Tai Fung restaurant.Tried their new flavor coconut cake and ube tart. Both are soo good and not overly sweet.

Amazing Japanese cheesecake! It tastes like a combination of white butter cake & cheesecake. Its light, moist & fluffy. I love how it practically melts in your mouth with a perfectly sweet buttery taste. At $9 I would definitely say it is not overpriced. But stay away from the cookies. They were really salty for some reason. And they tasted old, like they were baked several days ago. I wish I bought more cake & less cookies

The cheesecake is really soft and moist. Its not for anyone who expects to have something like NY cheesecake. The texture here is more like the spong cake. There are many flavors of cheesecake, like chocolate, strawberry, matcha... I personally love the original the best.The wait time was a little bit too long because the cashier was also the one who made drinks for customers. Even if I just wanted a cheesecake, I waited for 10mins when there was only 3 people in front of me.

Dont be discouraged by the line, we were there on a Saturday evening and it wasnt sure bad. Definitely worth waiting for! Afterall, you are getting hot fresh cheesecake. There limited 2 cheese cakes person so if you need more being more people! We brought a total if 6 since we knew we wouldnt be in the area again for awhile. I ate it after being in the fridge for 3-4 days and it was still good ( microwaved on low heat for 20 second ).The cheesecake was amazing! So light and fluffy where it just melted in your mouth!

The cheesecake was light & fluffy & not too sweet. Its definitely not what you typically think of when you think of cheesecake though. It reminds me more of the light & spongy Asian cakes or a souffle. It was good, but not worth the 1-2 hr wait that we had heard about from other days. Luckily we got to the mall early & stopped by before getting lunch at Din Tai Fung so the wait was only 15 minutes. If it was any longer than that, then I would say that its so not worth it, especially since they only offer one flavor right now & only allow you 1 cake per person.

Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecakes are incredible, and at a great price. $12 gets you dessert for at least 4 people, or you can do what I do and take some home; it reheats amazingly in the microwave for days afterwards. Also, the mini cheese tarts are bursting with flavor and worth adding on to have something to snack on if you’re saving the cheesecake for later.

Had a great experience picking up a last minute gift for a friends birthday! Jackie helped me pick out the green tea cheesecake and was super helpful and friendly. Located on the 2nd floor at the Westfield mall, outside Nordstrom on the right. I got the original cheesecake. Uncle Tetsus japanese cheesecake is comparable to Uncle Rikurus cheesecake in Osaka, Japan. Ive been on the hunt for a similar taste. Uncle Tetsus is a little smaller and a bit sweeter, and does not have raisins like the one from Osaka and all still very delicious! If you dont get it fresh, or have to refrigerate, I recommend microwaving it for 20-30 seconds to make it warm and soft again. I ate the whole thing by myself.

Japanese Cheesecake is my new favorite dessert besides ice cream. It is fluffy and soft with an incredible texture. It tastes like fresh crepes and falls apart in your mouth. There are multiple flavor options and they do sell out of cakes. When there are fresh cakes coming out of the oven the line gets really long. This is a must try dessert for everyone.

Always get a cheesecake here whenever I’m in town. Love the flavor and texture of these cheesecakes—not as dense and sweet as American cheesecakes. Ordered an original and the chocolate peppermint. Fluffy as much as its popularity when the location first opened. Original is hardly sweet at all, like eating a cake-lite, so really good for a cake craving. Chocolate peppermint hits with a minty aftertaste that was pleasant, also not too sweet here despite being chocolate.

Server was kind of rude, she (R...) seemed like she was in a hurry and was kind of tart, not at all patient considering there was nobody else in line. The cakes themselves are good. Uncle Tetsu’s is SO good and I always order at least 10 cakes to bring back as gifts for my family.Its texture is similar to that of a souffle, but with a firm enough hold that it won’t fall apart on you when cutting through. It’s perfectly balanced in sweetness, with the undertone of eggs introducing a subtle savoriness. I’ve tried all their special flavors as well, and those are just as fantastic as the original!

Believe the hype, this is the perfect cheesecake. It is not too sweet, not too thick, not too cheesy, and it’s soft but has a cheesy creamy texture. For those who says it’s a cheesecake and pound cake combined just probably didn’t like it because they like their cheesecake thick, really sweet, and with a lot of cheese. Get the original as it is the best by far. I was disappointed in the green tea version as it wasn’t as good. I tried it Fresh out of the oven, sitting in room temperature, and after in the fridge and it still all taste very good. Highly recommended

NOT YOUR AVERAGE CHEESECAKE.Ill admit that the biggest turn off about this place is its long wait. But if you come during the weekdays the line is much more reasonable (and nonexistent if you come either right before opening or around 2-4pm).These cheesecakes are not like any cheesecakes youve had before. If you come in thinking itll be cold, thick, and strong in flavor then youll be sorely disappointed. Uncle Tetsu Japanese cheesecake is essentially a spongey cheesecake that melts in your mouth.Depending on the flavor you get, the prices will range from $8-10 or so. Their plain and original is definitely worth trying once. I know that on some months they feature different flavors, like coffee and soon-to-be green tea (honestly cant wait for that) so theres certainly a reason to come back for more.ALL of their cheesecakes are made fresh so if that alone is not a selling point then I dont know what else there is to it!Overall, I highly recommend coming here at least once to try their products because its certainly delicious. I wouldnt necessarily say its worth waiting more than an hour for it, but if you ever find the time when it isnt super busy then you should definitely stop by and take one home!

Delicious Japanese cheesecakes. The cakes are light, fluffy, airy soft yet dense. Its a hard to describe texture that is a cross between sponge cake and dense cake but melts in your mouth. Always a big hit whenever I give these as gifts or bring it to a pot luck. I always have to get extra for myself. If you like your cheesecake, fluffy, airy, and not too creamy, Uncle Tetsu serves a solid Japanese style cake that is a unique dessert and not too crazily overpriced (around $10). I waited about 45 min on a weekday around dinnertime, and be warned that you can only buy 1 cheesecake per person in line.They only serve one flavor, and do not allow phone in orders. It is one of the better cheesecakes Ive had since Im not a huge fan of cream cheese, but I wouldve liked more flavor selection (i.e. green tea cheesecake). I guess they have to only have one flavor for efficiency, they pop around 12 cheesecakes every 15 min or so, so at least you are getting a fresh product!

I’m very disappointed at this business’s lack of integrity and accountability.This location was doing a pop-up event with The Loaf Bakery in Santa Clarita. I had ordered two cakes.Uncle Tetsu was severely behind schedule in arriving to the event on time. I arrive to The Loaf at my scheduled pickup time. The owner of The Loaf showed me a text message (with a screenshot of the freeway) that the Tetsu crew was running very late due to traffic (poor planning on their part).I spent the rest of the afternoon waiting for any sort of follow up communication from Tetsu – received nothing. No follow up via email, text, or call about a refund or makeup event.I appealed the charge with my credit card company, but Tetsu said otherwise.I don’t care about the $26 at the end of the day. I’m greatly disappointed at the lack of integrity and accountability of this company. Clearly, $26 was more important than morals, ethics, and being a honest local business. I’ll be taking my holiday gift budget elsewhere.

This is the only place I know of to get this style cheesecake, its unique and amazing. If you like cake or cheese or cheesecake you have to try this. Its light and fluffy but has a great deep flavor to it. Pairs well with some wine or fresh fruit. You can save it in the fridge and its good for a week. Wish I lived closer so I could have it more often, its definitely worth it.

The Japanese cheesecake is to die for! They have different flavors - chocolate, coffee, matcha, red velvet, and more. I recommend that you go earlier in the day because they do run out of the more popular flavors.This is the place to go for fluffy cheesecake that is not too sweet. A much lighter spongier version of cheesecake. The wait was only about 35 minutes now that they have added 4 more ovens. It take each oven 10 minutes to make a dozen cheesecakes, then another few minutes to package them up for purchase. Very tasty, but I dont see myself waiting any longer than I did today. Japanese cheesecake boarders on being almost like angel food cake and tastes a heck of a lot more like a custard than traditional American cheese cake.This one is SOOOO fluffy and light. Its pure heaven to eat. How did it take me this long to discover these light, bouncy, fluffy, melt in your mouth cakes from heaven?!!Located inside the Santa Anita mall next to din tai fung in Arcadia, the line for these cheesecakes and the wait can get pretty long, since they make them fresh. They are so fresh that you see the workers put the cakes in the oven to bake, take them out, brand them, and box them.Most people love the original, which I do too, but my current favorite flavors is the coffee and their limited time strawberry ones.

Despite the long weekend lines and the purchase limits the sales clerks impose, their main product (i.e. the Japanese cheesecake) is very light and fluffy, sweet but not noticeably so, and with a hint of cheese (my guess is cheddar, but someone with a better palate can correct me). Dont expect a cream cheese like confectionery. It is more like a simple cake with cheese flavor. Still, it is easy to see why it is so popular.

Ive had these type of light not too sweet cheesecake sold at Chinese bakeries like 99 ranch in house Desire and JJ. I would say its pretty good but pricier at $9.54 after tax. Steamed cheesecake. Line is quick, even when the person in front of you takes awhile to decide which one, and then orders individual ones for everyone in their group. The mall is always busy, especially in that restaurant section. Recommended to park near the mall entrance by the 2nd floor near Nordstroms.
