This place is 10/10! We stopped by Uncle John’s because we were in the area. Ordered the typical breakfast favorites (Country fried steak, pancakes, omelettes, etc). Everything was great; good prices, good value, good portions, and good service. Will definitely come back again to try the other items on their menu.

The place was not busy and got seated immediately.Excellent buttermilk pancakes and sausages. unfortunately, that was the end of the story.Had buttermilk pancakes, crepes, big boy breakfast, classic breakfast, and French toast. Crepes are more like tortillas, eggs are dry, ham steak is burned, Frenchtoast undercooked. beacons and hashbrowns are acceptable. Coffee was not worth the price...burned.

Cute place set up like a diner. It was very loud inside but at 930am on a Saturday, but the food was delish! I enjoyed the bacon, avocado, jack and cheddar egg souffle with hashbrowns and a waffle. Others in our party had the corned beef hash, Swedish pancakes, Belgian waffle with fruit and kids plates with chocolate chip pancakes. AlLL were very good (I tasted them) and we will definitely be back!

Neighborhood gem. I should have gotten pancakes, but old habits are hard to deny. Pancakes were always a filler for us, because meat was so dear. Then, I order too much! I was practicing Spanish and meant to order only one meat, but got all three. The sausage was delicious, as was the pan de trigo which is usually dry, but their wheat toast was really flavorful. Great service, very attentive and very pleasant. Nice job, Uncle John!

We visited Uncle Johns on a Sunday late morning after shopping at Campbells Farmers Market.Greeted with smiles and sat at the counter. Enjoyed some delicious French Toast with a side of bacon and succulent Blueberry Pancakes with a side of sausage. We devoured our meal feeling content. Prices werent bad at all. Good service too.Open 7 days a week. Breakfast and lunch is served with a great selection on their menu.Update: Visit number 2This time I tried the Egg Whites Veggie with fresh fruit and wheat toast. My companion and her son had a decent sized Waffle and a Clubhouse Sandwich. Everything was delicious.

Ordered a breakfast burrito here with a side of hash browns and split it with someone else. The portion was decent and we were both feeling a light breakfast, so it was perfect for us. The burrito itself was solid, but not standout. There were quite a bit of beans inside the burrito, and I felt that they could’ve added a bit less of the beans and more meat. The flavor and freshness were great, thought.

I normally run very warm, so I embrace places that keep their establishments at a comfortable cool, but its a cold day out, and it was even colder inside. Id say bring a jacket, because this place is well worth it!!😋🤤

An American diner style restaurant. Good for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is available. The menu is simple and dishes are prepared with simple fresh ingredients. The recipes are classic also not deviating from traditional methods of preparation. Quality is good. There is only black coffee nothing else. The mimosos are refreshing. This is definitely a type of place I would leave to meet friends and have a nice classic American breakfast on an early weekend morning. The place opens at 7 am. There are vegetarian and non veg options. Its in a nice town called Campbell. I would recommend to have breakfast here and walk over next door to look out coffee shop. As an American breakfast joint I rate this place a 5/5. It meets all the check marks perfectly for the theme and purpose of this restaurant. The quality of ingredients is good.

Waited about 25 mins to be seated for 5. Was given a booth table for 4 with a fifth chair. Right after us was a party of 4 who were seated at a table for 6. Hence 4 star for this & a couple of minor lapses like eggs over medium came out over hard - not easy to do. Plus it was busy, full house.Food was alright. Highlight was hash browns. Service was okay, main server was friendly. So was the other servers. Hardworking crew.

Great brunch place in bay. The wait for a bit longer than expected. Service was fast but the portions were surprisingly small. We also found the floor and overall table to be a bit dirty and when we requested to get it cleaned, they were a bit reluctant. Food was good, we ordered mushroom and avocado scramble and buttermilk pancakes with chunky monkey toppings. Mimosa and hot chocolate were amazing too. They could improve their portion size, especially for egg dishes.

Be sure to get on wait-list BEFORE you arrive for brunch, via Yelp. Very tight seating with lots of people walking over you if youre in the middle aisle tables. Wait the extra minutes for a booth or grab spots at the bar.Great service. Kiwi mimosas are fantastic. But everything else... Meh. Like... Cold cheese on top of eggs instead of cooked inside? Cold syrup in containers that are nearly empty and extra sticky? Corn beef hash that looks and taste more like ground beef? Meh. Great staff tho.

Note : DoorDash order !Food was really well packaged so much so that I had to grab some scissors to open . I was gladly willing to do so . It was nice to know that it was not tampered with . Food was warm and came with everything I could need . I ordered the. Country fried steak before from other spots and this is the only spot so far that though ahead to put my country sauce in a side container . I appreciate that so much . I am so happy with my food that I will be sure to try something else off the menu next time . Today I tried the pancakes . Very tasty! Prices are going up up up and quality is going down. My family and I still give it a shot every now and then but we prefer to go further to the other side of Campbell. The staff is great though.UPDATE: 4/7/22We came back this morning to give it another try and I had to lower the rating from 3 to 2 stars for the following reasons.1.) My wife asked for vanilla creamer for her coffee and the server said they did not have any and he looked frustrated because we saw some on another table behind us and asked to have them. No more than 10 minutes later a waitress came passed us with a full dish of new vanilla creamer for another table.2.) We ordered our son a waffle with strawberries and they brought us a short stack of pancakes3.) When the food was served to us, my brother and I got our meals first and by the time w were half done, my sons meal was brought out. The worst part of this was they completely forgot my wifes meal until the rest of us were basically finished.4.) My brother ordered a glass of milk, that never arrived.5.) There was a slight language barrier which was frustrating.6.) Our coffees were not refilled until we were ready to leave and the customer service was terrible.The only thing positive about this trip was that the food was actually delicious.Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

Enjoyed the food very much. Quite a nice selection. I had the mushroom and avocado scramble, Everything was cooked to perfection. Maybe I would have liked a tiny bit more mushrooms, but not a deal breaker. Hash browns were great as well. My friend had the bacon and avocado souffle, the souffle was very good as well. Good service and price. The place was packed (@11.30am) as it was Saturday so we sat at the bar. Friendly service. Coffee was great too, not too weak considering its a dinner. Will go again most likely to try something else.

The pancakes were sooo fluffy and yummy! Its a must have. We had the buttermilk pancakes with chunky monkey topping, definitely recommend. The omlette and scramble had quality ingredients. I loved the hash browns. It was the right amount of crispy and softy ratio. I tried the pineapple juice under fresh juices but it didnt really feel fresh. Would skip it next time.My best advise is to join the yelp waitlist before stepping outta the house, especially on weekends. Overall, good food, great service, neat location. Highly recommend if you are in the area :)

Blueberry Pancakes were gooey and tasteless. There was nothing appealing about them. There was no actual blueberries in them, regardless of the pancake batter being purple.Hashbrowns cold.Scrambled eggs were burnt.Noise level was over the topA disappointment all the way around, considering the place is called Uncle Johns Pancake house.

This place is alright. Been here twice and the service is not the best. The staff are very kind and accommodating, but I feel like the way they organize who is serving each table needs to be reevaluated. Servers are not as attentive as I would like and we often feel forgotten. Additionally, the last time we were here it really seemed like their potatoes were very old. Fries and hash browns tasted off. Overall, Id come back and give them another chance, but Im not impressed.

Im seating here at the restaurant and its so bad that I had to do the review right away. This is The worst place for breakfast, believe me, run as fat as you can! not worth the wait, waiters and waitresses are always in a bad mood everyone looks so unhappy!!!! Food is not that great! NOT Family Friendy: My husband and I went to Uncle Johns to have breakfast. We waited outside on the patio for the other member of our party and the music was loud and dropping f-bombs all over the place, other swearing, and out right sexual content - not innuendo - extremely overt sexual content. The music inside was the same as the outside, so we turned around, left, and found another place to have breakfast.Suggestion to the Business: Take care of what music you have and who picks the music. You have labeled above the patio door that you are family friendly, so be sure to honor your word on that and follow through.

We really wanted a new breakfast place and so we tried out Uncle John’s. The service was really good, prices are reasonable and food came quickly. The blueberry pancakes are very very very blue! But they were good and so was the eggs Benedict.Just a little feedback the eggs were slightly undercooked and so were the blueberry pancakes but it was a nice spot to sit and we enjoyed our breakfast.

No real complaints, except the service was a little slow and the entrance situation was a tad odd due to having 2 entrances and one host stand but they had some signs to help out and everyone was very nice!

Crepes were yummy but small portions for $14. Two plain crepes were $10 with an additional preset offered topping combination for $3.50. The crepes were filled with blueberries which spilled out, I personally would’ve preferred more of the blueberry sauce as it would’ve provided more flavor than the blueberries alone. Left feeling as though I had ate hardly anything. The staff should be commended for how nice they were despite a very busy restaurant.

They have a great messaging system for when you have to wait. No need to stand in line. Not only that, but they also had a table outside serving delicious coffee for free! This place is outstanding. The pancakes are my new favorite in this area. If I had one complaint it would be (edit 6 months later) I wish there was more gravy for my biscuits. Otherwise, fantastic!

I like to take recommendations from the staff and Angelita knocked it out of the park with the Salmon Benedict special!I rarely do fish and this was excellent!The Salmon was perfect, nothing was over or under cooked. Poached eggs were perfect. The tomatoes were crisp and fresh cut and the avocado was perfectly ripe. Overall super delicious and filling!Busy on a weekday mid-morning so that says something.Plan accordingly if you go at a normal mealtime.

Omelets on point! Pancakes are savory and fluffy. I tried the Jalisco Omelet and had the side of pancakes with a Strawberry and Mango Mimosa. We went on a busy Saturday morning but were seated right away. I have a few things to try here on my checklist but this was a great start! The Jalisco Omelet came stuffed with carnitas, onions, cheese, tomatoes and topped with avocados. The salsa was very good and had a little kick to it to top off the meal. Hashbrowns were nice and crispy and the Mimosa was sweet and cold. Had enough pancakes to enjoy some at home. Cant wait to come back and try something new.

For a breakfast place it was pretty good.I was the first person the waitress asked for drinks, I requested an ice tea and a glass of ice water. Out af eight people I was the only one not to get water, and had to request a second time.I got the Swedish Crepes with the berry add on and asked for the sauce on the side and also a side of corn beef hash. The potatoes in the hash were cold. The Crepes came out with the sauce on it, so the whole plate had to go back, which now meant the corn beef meat got cold.When we were done, I was the first (and only) person to request a small to go box. Waiter came back with many large boxes but no small ones. Again, I had to request a second time for what I needed.Most people in my party liked their food. I did not see what everyone got. Someone did have the churro flavored pancakes and another person had the hamburger. There were only four lunch items on the menu.So good food, not so good wait staff.There is a nice little parking lot in the back.

I ordered to go, was told 15 min then 30, my husband left to go grab coffee, then I got a text 10 min later it was ready. I went inside to get it and told the server I think that’s mine on the counter as you just texted me and I gave her my name and showed her the order. She said no that’s not yours they’re still working on it and left. The owner came by about 5 min later and asked me what I was waiting for, I showed her and told her my name and she goes it’s right here. I told her that her other staff told me it wasn’t so now my food sat waiting another 5 min… not happy😡. She said sorry.When I got home I opened my order to see it was half the size, ordered crispy hash browns and they were raw, the cheese was still cold shreds on top. I ordered mushroom and avocado and the only avocado is what you see on top (4 slices). Additionally there was spinach (don’t like and not listed) and green onions and very little mushrooms. I had to cook my food longer before eating.I use to love this place, but not much any more. We decided to give another try but we’re disappointed yet again.

We have visiting Uncle Johns almost from when it first opened. Food is always good and is top notch. Due to Covid-19 protocols, condiments come in small single serve containers. My only complaint lies in those containers, either you get way to much or not enough. The server is not a mind reader so you will have to be very specific on how many of each you want.

Let me start off by saying that the staff here is amazing! Environment is a 10/10. I usually order 2-3 pancakes, hot coffee and some eggs. Food comes out fast, it’s always on point, if you have a problem with the food or if they messed up on something (only happened 1 time) they will make it right for you. I am local and I recommend their breakfast 100% you will not be disappointed. Also their prices are reasonable for the area and service. Give them a try!

The service couldnt have been better! The food was, unfortunately, not that good. I ordered a special of smoked salmon eggs Benedict. While the eggs were good perfectly, the hollandaise sauce tasted artificial and not tasty. In addition, the salmon was not edible. It was cooked! I dont understand why. My husband found his chicken fried steak and eggs just barely passable. I wish we were able to write a better review. 😔

I came here for breakfast with my wife and there was a bit of a wait. Once we got our seats at the counter 10 minutes later, we checked out the menu and made our choices (which was hard due to all the menu items looking delicious). I chose a chorizo scramble and it was delicious and filling. The service was excellent and all the employees from the servers to cooks all hustle and are the utmost professionals. We cant wait to come back!

I visited Uncle Johns Pancake House once with my young niece, and it was a delightful experience. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. Despite the challenge of dining with a two-year-old, both the customers and the staff were exceptionally cordial and accommodating, creating a comfortable ambiance for her.There was also something on the television that kept her entertained after she finished eating. I highly recommend this place for families and friends. I cant stress this enough... best pancakes in the san jose area. Ive been 3 times now, and i cant get enough of their crepes! There is always a line out the door, so thats how i knew the food was going to be good from the beginning. Boy, was that a great indicator of food quality. **Pro tip** sit at the bar (plenty of bar seats) to skip the line. I cant wait till next weekend to return!

Comparable to a Dennys or IHOP, as far as food quality.Not too far from the famous Winchester Mystery House.A wide variety to choose from on their menu.Reasonable prices.I struggled between 4 to 5 stars. This is one of those times that I wish we could do fractional stars. This place deserves better than 4 stars, but not 5. Id say 4.3 is accurate.The service was EXCELLENT. 🙂Ill be back.

Definitely my go to place now! Everything has been excellent here ea time I have come in. My favorite so far is the brioche french toast with the fresh fruit toppings & Mango Strawberry Mimosa! They have several topping combos to choose from for a reasonable extra charge. Serving portions are well worth the cost. They hv a great drink selection too both alcoholic & non and serve fresh squeezed orange juice which is another fav. Gotta try this place if you havent yet!

I always came during the off peak hours so my experience is really good with turn around time. My favorite are Chicken & Waffle, and Berries Pancake. It won’t be wrong always to go with omelette. Good place to hang out and enjoy the talk over the brunch

Plenty of parking in the retail parking structure below the adjacent building.I don’t know why but my daughter’s dish was noticeably delayed. No explanation was given. That was awkward but we didn’t want to complain and still left a good tip because it wasn’t the waitress’s fault. We sensed she perturbed by the delay, too.I’ve been to the location on the alameda and have always enjoyed the food.I noticed lots of police eating at The Alameda location, which means to me that it’s good food. That’s one of my rules of thumb: “wherever cops eat is bound to be a good place.”The Campbell location (this one) we may not return due to the awkward delay without explanation nor apology.We waited for a few minutes while my daughter’s dish was in delay to had to ask for silverware as there was none on the table. I was hoping the waitress would notice that we were staring at our food, but maybe she was distracted by the kitchen’s delay. Getting on the waiting list through YELP is definitely the way to go, to easily and quickly get a table at this hot spot. The lady hosting managed both entrances to the building and was directing people with the skill of a seasoned conductor. I got up early on Saturday morning and asked my sister what was a great place to eat breakfast she said the best place in her area was Uncle Johns original Pancake house. We go to the register and a very nice waitress came and I let her know it was my first time and she directed me through the menu. I ordered our breakfast for 4 people. We spent $111.00. The waitress texted us when our order was ready and we went back to pick up the order. We walked in and back to the register where we ordered and no one came for 5 minutes. The hostess just sat there and watched me. She did not let anyone know that I was there until I approached her to ask if she could let someone know I was there. Still no one was in line so she was just sitting there. Then the waitress came and gave me the order. I did give her a tip and I proceeded to leave. Both my arms were full and the hostess sat at her podium and did not open the door for me. A friendly customer opened the door and helped me out. Ive never been to this establishment before. Im from Southern California. Im sure she was having a bad day but Im not sure when I return to San Jose if this will be my choice as a great breakfast spot. The food was really good and for the most part the service but when I spend money I dont want to be treated wrong. So I do recommend Uncle Johns for the food. It was very good.

They made my experience very enjoyable!《Food》I ordered the French Toast w/ fresh fruit ($12 total) & blueberry drizzle, came with powdered sugar on top and whip cream! The french toast alone is $9 and the topping for fresh fruit was $3. The fruits were fresh, nothing tasted mushy or old. One of the most atrocious services my family has ever witnessed. When we walked into the restaurant I asked for a face mask because I had forgotten mine. She told me that she did not have one and that without it we would not be served. She then preceded to say that the wait time was 45 minutes. The uncle Johns pancakes house in Campbell has big portions of food and great tast. The new uncle Johns Pancake house on the Alameda has a nice atmosphere and is very clean . They may need to make sure their OJ they serve is always fresh. We found it a bit sour but they gave us a replacement drink right away. The food is great. We will make this our new breakfast hang out!

This place is an OK breakfast place. The food tasted average and the serving size was plentiful. I just thought it was OK. There was nothing special about it. Its just another coffee shop/diner. The service was pretty slow. It looked like they didnt have enough people working. I dont know if that is normal for them or if they are short staffed so I didnt ding them for it. I would be willing to give this place another shot if I really didnt feel like cooking.

Very good pancakes, slightly thicker than standard pancakes, and flavorful. The bacon avocado omelette is also great, as are the crepes. Its usually quite busy with a long wait. Theres an option of adding yourself to the wait list online thats very convenient. Theres also some outdoor seating on the Winchester street side when the weather is warmer. The interior is bright and clean, but the seating is not particularly cozy and it can get a little noisy.

This was my first and last visit. I ordered chicken and waffles. It was supposed to be half chicken but they ran out of chicken at 9:30 am, breakfast time. Couldnt believe this. Anyway they gave me chicken strips & a chicken breast. It was cooked so very hard. I ate the breast because I was hungry and in a hurry. I had the crepes with blueberries, strawberries and bananas. The crepes remind me of the little French creperie in Seattles Pike Place Market. As in, with proper substance to it. The berries were fresh and sweet - even Whole Foods doesnt do better in the winter! I really enjoyed the coffee (black) and ambiance. It is a spacious and modern with large tables, but can still feel cozy due to the charming decor and nooks. Wonderful for both groups and single dining.

We stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The wait time was around 30 minutes. Using the Yelp app to join the wait-list helped avoid about 19 minutes of that wait time. Delicious! I love pancakes. I ordered churro pancakes and friends ordered chunky monkey (Nutella and banana) and chocolate chip. It was so good. Very flavorful and a work of culinary art! I also got eggs and sausage. Portions are a good size. I couldnt finish my food. I would definitely come again if I lived closer. We did have to wait about an hour though because there was a wait list and very long line. We added our name to the list and walked around for a bit.

This is one of those places that you always want to like but every time you eat there you are not satisfied and think, why did i come back? Yet every few months I decide to try it again. Pumpkin pancakes were a massive hit being both flavorful and filling. For an extra 4 bucks you get 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon bringing a typical breakfast total to 15 bucks. I had a horrible experience with the person in charge (Anna). She gave me an unacceptable attitude, never apologizing or much less said sorry. I placed my order for four people over the phone. I asked the person who took the order to repeat it to me to confirm it. As usual, I went to pick up my order, arrived home (5 miles away from restaurant) and as we sat down at the table to eat, we realized that they had given us the wrong side item for all four orders (even though when the receipt did show the correct side item). Apparently Anna did not like it at all that I went back to the restaurant to ask them to fix my orders. My wife and I went to Uncle John’s Pancake House this morning, September 29th 2019. We arrived about an hour after they opened and only about 5 tables were filled. Sadly, not only did the hostess not even greet us, much less say good morning, but simply asked how many of us there were, grabbed the appropriate number of menus and walked away. We assumed following her was in order, did so and sat down. She asked us what we wanted to drink. My tea arrived shortly thereafter but neither of my wife’s drinks were delivered. When the waiter came by and asked for our order still no greeting took place. I made a mistake on my order by requesting the two egg breakfast, thinking I would get the bacon, hash browns and pancakes with it. Order arrived without the bacon. I didn’t realize there was a separate name for the meal that included bacon. The waiter just got defensive and told me that’s what I ordered. And he was correct, but the appropriate response would have been to show me what I really wanted from the menu and bring the bacon. He gets it, only for me to find out when the bill arrived that he charged me for the two egg breakfast and added a $5 side of bacon, which all in was $2 more than the meal I originally thought I ordered. Then he proceeded to argue with me about it. Poor form! If these folks are wanting customers to come back they shouldn’t make an issue of a customer’s mistake, particularly since I was cordial about my own screwup. Instead, he tried to take advantage of it by charging me extra. He finally relented and reduced the bill by $2, which at the end of the day isn’t the whole issue with this restaurant. Simply put, the entire experience didn’t exactly make us feel like “family” as their website leads you to believe. Not once did we get a greeting from anyone, service was terrible and the food average. Nobody said hello, goodbye, nor did they follow up on our needs while there. I don’t believe I have ever not tipped at a restaurant. Indeed, I am almost always a 20% tipper and have been for years. But in this case I could not bring myself to do so, and writing a negative review now, sadly, has to reflect on the complete staff and ownership. Being a small business owner I get the importance of quality customer service. Unfortunately, it was not to be found at this establishment.

Great food, clean and fun/casual atmosphere but the hostess was terrible. I requested outdoor seating bc i had my 1.5 yr old w me. She didnt hold the outside door open for me when I was holding my toddler so I had to quickly shift hands and hold it myself bc it was about to close on my arm or my sons back. She practically threw the menus down on our table and didnt offer us a high chair, let alone give us a chance to even ask for one bc she turned and left. Our office has been going here for over a year now, and these are consistently delicious pancakes and breakfast food. I typically order the continental. The eggs are nice and fluffy, the bacon crispy but not overcooked and the pancakes are delicious. My coworkers also speak highly of the scrambles and the Monte Cristo. Crepes and French toast w fresh fruit were good, which is the only reason Im giving any stars at all. My husband ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken was raw! They handled matters appropriately, but now we are going to be dealing with sickness from raw meat! Steer clear of any chicken and youll be fine. The crepes and such wouldve earned 4-5 stars but raw meat is downright dangerous!
