I love UEI Gardena and especially my teacher Mrs. Garcia. I’m taking medical assisting and I have classes on Monday and Wednesday from 10am to 2pm. My teacher is very supportive and always makes sure we’re on track and knows how to make class fun!

I attend UEI Gardena and I am taking the Medical Assistant program. I attend class on Monday and Wednesday at 10am my instructor Ms. Camille Garcia is the absolute best. Attending UEI Gardena has been such a blessing but having a teacher like Ms. Garcia makes us so much better. She makes being a student so much easier and she makes sure we are well prepared for the field. I’m so happy to have her as a teacher.

Currently a student here and this is my honest review so far . The first month I learned a lot with the teacher that I was given Mr Garcia . Then we got switched for the second mod to a different teacher and all she would do is talk and we would sit basically the whole time. We finally got a new instructor and she is really good but I wasted my last 2 -3 months paying for learning absolutely nothing. When I first came to see the school i was given a tour by one of the admissions workers pretty sure and his name was Bryan. I had texted him after I got enrolled asking a few questions about fafsa he NEVER answered . That’s why they make the fafsa money go directly to them. Sad part is you can’t even drop out because you’re still required to pay the rest of the money. Just now in debt for a school that’s super bad when I could’ve went elsewhere . Workers act like they care too but all they care about is you attending. They don’t care about what you got going on if you’re sick or dealing with things and you miss even with an explanation they’ll most likely still drop you . For the money we were paying for school the iPads were also super cheap and stopped working the first week. Last time we didn’t even have xray film!! We’re always out of supplies. Who knows if I’ll even get hired somewhere after I finish because I did not really learn anything besides what the new teacher is teaching and the teacher I had the first month . I reccomend going somewhere else don’t get tricked by what they tell you

This course in Business Office Administration was an eye opener in so many aspects. We learned Customer Relations, Office Automation, Excel Fundamentals, Accounting, Finance, Business Applications, Communication, and finally Externship. UEI instructor Mr. Douglas Mejia is the best. Hes open to helping you with each question you have, he is very thorough in his teachings. Theres lots of laughs and accomaridry. As well as the Career Advisors place students and work well to adjusting the right placement sites suitable for students.All in All I am happy to be here. My experience at UEI College has been amazing and fun. Doctor Dennis is the DA Professor for the Dental class, hes very professional and really breaks down the information for dental procedures in a fun and constructive way. During our lab time where we have a lot of hands on time, Doctor Dennis is always observing and just very helpful throughout all of it. If you are interested in the Dental field and want a super fun, professional, and deep understanding of dental work and practice Doctor Dennis is the teacher to go to.

I am currently attending at UEI College in Garden. They offer morning and evening classes. I prefer evening classes because I work in the morning. My instructor, Ms. Rios from the evening at 6pm is very patient with us teaching new materials. My lab days with her is Mondays and Wednesdays and lectures is Tuesdays and Thursdays. She is really direct and tells us exactly what to do when dealing with needles.

My instructor in UEI Gardena Ms. Rios, is a very great instructor. I walked in here not knowing anything and i leave in about a month or so and i know everything that i need to know for my externship. She taught me how to do injections, draw blood, do vital signs. I also learned how to treat a patient when they are upset or anxious. Ms. Rios has so much patience with all of her students, i like how she works with 1 at a time so we can get that 1 on 1 experience with her. Overall I totally recommend Ms. Rios as your medical assistant instructor in the evening.

Don’t come to this school if your gonna do electrical, they promised us our ET card the first 3 months, the year already ended and we are still waiting for them and most of us need the ET card to to start working, throughout the year there was times we had no material for lab and they wouldn’t care, besides all that the teachers were awesome 5 stars for them.

I am currently enrolled in the MA course at the Gardena campus with Ms. Morataya (Mondays & Wednesdays 10am-2pm). Ms. M, as we call her, is the best instructor at this campus. She goes above and beyond. I am so glad I made the choice to begin my career here. Ms. M has made this experience the very best because she treats us with respect, professionalism, and love, not just like another student passing by. If you are serious about getting through your course, she will get you through it. If you need extra help, shes always there for you. Love this school. As a former graduate, you get what you put in. The staff is amazing! Career Services amazed me ALWAYS When I first started there were only 3 ladies now I see more people. This is my fourth month here at UEI for the Dental Assistant program and my instructor Ms. Alderete is absolutely the best. Her teaching ethic is amazing, it’s organized, and well thought out, and you learn everything you need to before you leave for the externship. Ms. Alderete makes sure that you understand everything before moving to the next chapter or module. Since Ms. A is still in the dental field, she keeps us (the students) up to date on new dental terminology and new techniques that will help prepare you once youre in the field. If you’re thinking about joining the dental program I’d recommend joining Ms. Alderetes class.

I am very appreciative to be in Ms. Garcia’s class as she makes sure all her students comprehend the coursework but also the technique including the way you hold your fingers when administering an injection. This campus is in complete breach of contract.They are quick to get you signed up and started.I was signed on by the dean.I was not told anything about the mandatory zoom meetings and Friday classes when they informed me that I would be taking a hybrid course.Designated time frames for zoom class is not hybrid.Finding this out after week one made it difficult to rearrange my schedule already set in place to accommodate having to take this course in the first place.I was told that graduations happen at the Los Angeles coliseum only to find out after that we are expected to stand in the parking lot with cars.First day there we were sectioned off for orientation by instructors that were not in our specific departments so they were not able to answer any of the questions we had.We were not taught anything required for the first three months of this program because we are always out of supplies and equipment in the school never works. I found myself being the one helping the students around me trying to grasp the material (when I was only a month in).We never have gloves, bandaids, alcohol wipes, testing strips, or cotton balls. I always have to go to other classrooms to borrow supplies from other teachers in a daily basis. No working EKC, centrifuge, tablets are always having issues. The wifi here is unreliable. We need to use our own hotspot to get things done. What is my Fafsa and monthly payments going to at this point?We went days without an instructor. We are adults here being stuck in a computer lab to do our work we could be doing at home.I spoke to the Dean of education to address my concerns with a group of my classmates and nothing was done. It felt more like our statements were ignored.We finally have a good instructor to teach us. However we still have the issue of lacking supplies. We all have to go to other classrooms asking for supplies. Now, we are at the point where these teachers we are asking for help for supplies, are getting mad that we are interrupting their class time. Meanwhile we can’t even start ours because office and upper administration officials do not come in until after 10 am when our class is half over.Do not come here.Save your money.

From my experience here it was ok could have been better. They makes you feel like signing up and tell you they will provide equipment for (medical assistant) but half the equipment doesn’t work. I had to buy all my own equipment. Ms.Garcia was an amazing teacher no complaints on her. Career service lady yahira didn’t help change my site and I was told I had to find my own site but when I did she never answered my calls or texts. When I was telling her I was uncomfortable with site I was getting a lot of attitude from her and no help. Thanks to Patty nash for changing my site the same day I came to her. In billing I had my card put on the system and they stop taking payments and now months later I’m getting calls that I owe money. These issues really need to be fixed, just seems this school only cares about the money.

School sucks, I enrolled in auto and there was never any engines or transmissions to work on. They expect the students to learn off their own cars. None of the equipment worked properly and after bringing it up they did nothing about it. This school only wants your money and doesnt care whether you find or succeed in a career. I got a job in the field on my own while going to school and they want me to sign a formal taking credit and not wanting to search for work like they promised in the beginning. Now after graduating I have to fight them on getting the tools they also promised. This school does nothing but waste your time and money.

I am in the dental Assistant program. I came to UEI hoping to find a diploma but Instead I found a family, I found hope, I found recognition and validation. the first day I walked in, I felt a warm welcome from the staff, I felt like they believed in me, I felt that they wanted me to succeed, they were cheering for me! At that exact moment, I thought to myself, I can do this, I can finish high school, and I can finish my program and give it my best, all my effort and dedication because this school believes in me and my teachers believe in me. God forbid you ever need any information. The phone representatives are unprofessional and answer like they hate their job. You will pay 20k for online classes and when you do have in person class they are never prepared or have actual working equipment or supplies. The teachers are there for a paycheck not to learn. If I could recommend anything it would be to go with a school with great reputation even if it costs a bit more. I did the HVAC course and had a horrible time at this school and only learned because I went home, did theory notes and YouTube was my best friend. I forgot to mention that teachers will have you come in and put YouTube video from 8-11am, send you to lunch, get back and work on a system for about 30-40 minutes.

Walking through the doors of this school, I was nervous to say the least. I was scared of to fail before I even started. The staff and employees made me feel comfortable and welcomed me with open arms. They guided me through the bad days, and uplifted me on the good days! As a former student of UEI College who later became an instructor, I feel it is my responsibility to express serious concerns about the institution’s educational standards. Having experienced UEI from both sides, my perspective is deeply troubled.During my time as a student, I witnessed students being awarded certificates for venipuncture without demonstrating the required proficiency. This compromises patient safety and raises doubts about the quality of education provided.Even more concerning is that as an instructor, I felt pressured to pass students who had not mastered critical skills. This left them ill-prepared for their roles as medical assistants, and I, too, lacked the competence to perform essential tasks like drawing blood.I believe it’s imperative that UEI College’s practices and accreditation undergo thorough review to protect students’ interests, uphold the institution’s reputation, and ensure the integrity of healthcare procedures. Graduated from the HVACR program at gardena site, STAY AWAY FROM UEI. They do not have the supplies to properly train and teach anything. They are low on everything at one point they even ran out of refrigerant, so how can we learn anything with no hands on training after you graduate they harass you for payments when you are in fact making payments. I just talk to somebody today told them I will make a $100 payment and they told me they’re marking it down as refusal to pay. This is the worst school possible I do not even know how they maintain their Accreditation. The career services is a joke. The jobs that get you are with the worst companies to work with. My experience with UEI was precisely what I expected. A technical trade school that focused was to teach me Networking, Windows, Linux, and A+, and others I cant remember. My instructor at the time was a reasonably decent person, cover the topics, and encourage students to get certified before finishing school. Helped me understand a lot of things I was confused about and guided the whole class.Job placement was as promised, 30 days internship with the possibility of employment. I wasnt hired but earned enough experience to find a job on my own. Lucky me, the company that I had intern after UEI reached out and hired me full time. My career as a Sysadmin and Network engineer was born thanks to UEI.A few weeks ago, I purchased my transcripts to use for a college that I am going to attend this fall, and to my amazement, their credits are worth 70% of my technical elective credits, possibly more.The only negative I can think is their corporate office lack off phone support, and their slow email follow up. I wish they could have a quicker response system and notifications.My advice to anyone that reads the negative reviews and the positives is to follow your instincts, will going to UEI benefit you? Or do you need a college degree instead? Or maybe you arent sure what you want in life? Going to any school doesnt mean a person will be successful; the passion, the will to learn and continue to move forward is what will drive you to success. Dont come to this school hoping they will spoon feed you a job and a career. You, as a grown adult, should know exactly what you want and how to get it. These schools are designed to help you get a kickstart in life.Anyways, my story with UEI was a success, and I am thankful to them for giving me a chance no one would at that time.

I went to this school 7 years ago and still till this day have not received my certificate for completing dental assistance program. I was also charged an additional $3,000 by this school. Never once did i receive a Bill or notification stating i owed additional funds for xyz to uei i found out by the amount due hitting my credit score which dropped 66pts ... This school charged me 23,000 all together and promised me i would get employment and that they would help place me in a dental office to get my office training part done which was a big part of getting your certificate and they never helped me with anything..its been the biggest burden of my life i wish i would have never gone here. But when youre a young mother and are desperate for a change you will do just about anything to help your family and these people took advantage of that.

I am a disabled veteran This school has very fraudulent practices. They refused to unenroll me upon request. They tried to take over 1k from my personal school loans then tried to convince me that it could be because of “taxes”. Then the school denied me a federal grant that I qualified for as I am part of the lowest income of students which is what the grant targeted. Upon checking with other schools in the area my suspicions were verified I did in fact qualify for said grant at which point I promptly withdrew. They then tried to bill me for classes already paid by the GI bill and have been harassing me since trying to offer me 50% off tuition to come back and the original grant that they denied me for. Stay away!!!

Heres the thing about this school.I know it gets a lot of negative reviews but thats because no one that is successful here is asked to leave a review.There might be 1 out of 100 students that leave a review on their own.As for the negative experiences sadly many of those are true but many of them are highly exaggerated or by people that couldnt take personal responsibility for themselves and so they are now blaming it on the school.If you want to advance your career you have to put in the work.What I say is go check it out for yourself. FYI - Im writing this review through my boyfriends email address.My over all experience at UEI College - Gardena was absolutely terrible. I signed up days after I turned 18 for Medical Assisting. The teachers dont care whether you are learning or not. From what I remember, I was never offered after school tutoring of any kind by my teachers. When I first started the program it did not seem so bad but, as weeks went by I almost started regretting my decision. Attending UEI made me feel like I was in high school all over again! The people who attend this college are the epitome of garbage, ghetto. There were countless fights, bullying, arguing, stealing, gang members etc. No one was really friendly. The best experience I had was going on my externship before I graduated! I was not hired there but thats okay. After I graduated I got help in going on interviews, which I was always rejected at due to not having experience in the field. Then things got worse when I basically started getting harassed by one of the employees, not in a sexual manner but more by simply just annoying me. He would call me at least 7-8 times a day, even after 8pm and would leave NO voicemail, he would also call from different numbers, blocked calls and his personal cell phone when I would not answer my phone. He started making my job search HELL. I eventually just changed my number in order to get him to leave me alone. I had made a complaint about him in the past and they still assigned HIM to help me search for a job. Now, almost a year after I have graduated I am still unemployed and owe $10,000 to these assholes (excuse my language) I encourage anyone who is looking into any trades that are offered here to look elsewhere or attend a community college! UEI IS NOT WORTH IT!!!! I am stressed out still to this day because of them and wish I would have been more wise about my decision in attending this so-called school.

I didnt learn as much, everything was handed to me like a elementary school student and homework was due once a weak. Theory and Defintion test was also done once a week. This school is basis on you. You get what you paid for. As far as employment options you also have want it as bad as you want to be successful. Please do not expect for your career advisor to do everything. He or she is only one person and hundreds of students are standing behind. You have to be willing to meet them half way. Do your research, job hunting, looking for agency that is willing to hire you with the job title you are looking for. Nothing is hard, it get discombobulated at time but please dont give up. If it was easy everybody would be doing it. At the end of the you have your documents of completion and cant no one take it from you. Documentation is proof. I suggest dont listen to what everyone else experience look at it as it a starting point. You must crawl before you work. No half stepping or I met you half way. No one going to hold your hand. I decided to go to the UEI College to check them out since they offer you to get your High school diploma.(Since I don’t Have It). I went in to see what programs they had i thought it was going to be fast but they took over 2 hours. They never told me i had to take a test that day of Basic Math/Language Arts, To see if i qualify for i can go to school and start the Medical Assistant program.That test took about 40 mins long.That day i took my daughter in with me she is one year old, and my two siblings. They had me over 2 hours there. I got there around 4:20 and got out 7:25pm. They forced me to enroll when i told them i just came to see and ask for prices. I told them at the moment i was not working and i just wanted to come and check them out. At the moment the guy that forced me to enroll told me that i had to think about me and i was being selfish for not wanted to attend school that was my future etc, i once told him i wasn’t working and my bf at the moment pays our bills my mom helps me. Again the start manipulate you forcing you to enroll. After that i did the application, my daughter and siblings they were fussy because it took so long my daughter was crying i told them i had to leave and they didn’t want me to leave they kept me for more time they had me back and forth him and the finical aid office until the Maricela form Finical aid let me go i left.If it wasn’t for her the guy would of kept me for more time and i would be forcedly enrolled there. Thank god for all the reviews i seen i opened my mind and thought that school only takes your money. Thank god i didn’t pay nothing i will not return back and i will look for a new school for i can get my hs diploma and go to school for medical assistant. Bad Experence ever!!!

Worst school seriously my wife came here as a transfer from El Monte UEI . Unfortunately my wife had a bad experience here with her medical assistant teacher, my wife requested to be drop off from the program and now she is getting the round a round. They wont drop her off from the program unless its been 30 day from what their system is program to be drop or cancels . Please dont waste your time at least in this location . Want an honest campus go to El Monte UEI or some other college, folks here dont care about the student at least the ones we came across here in this campus . Especially the campus director.

As i am currently enrolled here at UEI and on my 5th MOD i just have to say that this school is a great school to attend. My instructor Ms. Padilla is very helpful with everything that you ask and if she sees you struggling she will pull you aside to assist you more even if it is on her own time. The career services deaprtments helps with all that they can to make sure they send you to a good extern office help with your resumes adn portfolios as well as doing mock interviews to make sure you are ready for yours when you go out for your extern. The staff here is very freindly and helpful with whatever you may need. Ms. Jones which is the department chair for medical assisting and she does a great job as well. The instructors here at UEI make coming here all worth the time and money spent. Over all this is a great school to attend and if you were interested dont hold back definitely take the step to making your future career brighter.

Im in medicial billing and insurance coding i have Ms Lamar for my teacher who is a 30 year veteran in the field and has her own billing company.my 4th module and my instructor makes you earn it no open book test, homework due every night. worth and work ethic is taught. you treat the class like a job youll make it.

Some teachers where amazing and helpful but the students from this area are straight ghetto. Theyd rather fight over some petty ideals rather then getting an education. Its sad....but screw them...weed out the weak!!! Only thing i regret was giving them the best rating when they asked us to complete surveys.

They just care about students posting attendance. So they get their funding. Even when the teachers dont show up they will make you sit in another class and do nothing so they get credit . This location is so unorganized . New staff on rotation. You dont get your supplies or books that u pay for yet the say of u can use your home computer. What am I paying you guys for books and stuff of I still have to go pay for them somewhere else cuz they ding deliver

This school was a waste of my money. Most of the instructors dont care if you learn they are just their to collect an easy pay check. The veteran rep there didnt know how to correctly do their job either. I was suppose to owe nothing and the month before I graduate they tell me I cant graduate unless I take out a loan for $1125.00Also the cars they have for you t work on are nonworking cars so you have to find ppl or bring your own cars in to work on.Another thing is if you have to miss days because of the military then they will not excuse your absence and if its more then 20hours a MOD then you will have to repeat the whole MOD over again even if you have an A in the class. I had to repeat 2 MODs over that I have high grades in.Another thing is that I took some electronics to the computer class for them to work on (2010 MacBook, 2 XBOX 360s, iPod and a MP3 player) and the teacher quit and ran off with all the equipment and the school said its against their policy to contact him since he no longer work there. And they class disasmebled my XBOXs and used the parts on other stuff I guess. The school wouldnt even let me take my equipment and they was suppose to call me and never did. That was close to $2600 worth of equipment not to mention the Macbook wasnt even mine. Im mad that I even help them get $16500 richer.The job placement part is a waste of time too mostly. a lot of the jobs they try to get you are jobs you dont need to go to school to get. The are just trying to keep their statistics up.The only good thing about that school was my instructor Mr. Anderson who was very knowledgable and was very good at teaching. And that you can go back there to use the equipment to work on your car after you become an alumni but the downside to that is that you have to find a teacher that will let you come in when they are in shop and let you use machines.THAT COLLEGE IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL!

I had to take a L.O.A from school for three months because I found out I had cancer. I was in stage one and I had to have my colin remove at least 90% of it I have a internal j pouch. Now Im going through chemo and I have 7 months of it.Now I have a chance to go back to school and finish up three classes despite me going through chemo, UEI has to drop from school because I used my L.O.A time. I return back Dec 9 but I have chemo treatment so there for since I cant make it I will be drop. Its horrible that UEI does not have nothing set up for students that have serious medical condition but I have to pay the school over $19,000 to attend the school but they have to drop me. I keep my credits but I want to be done with my classes while I have the strength strength. So if you have something seriously wrong with you medically speaking dont attend UEI.Because after hearing this brings me down and no motivation to finish my schooling at UEI. So I guess having cancer doesnt mean anything to the corporate office. I have lynch sydrom i have 82% to catch other cancer so I have to take chemo.

The school isn’t helpful at all they want you to believe that the school is a “stepping stone” to go further in your career but it’s not !! Calling all veterans and everyone! Dont even bother to go this school! Its terrible! Admin, financial services, career services and IT sucks! I was given an old iPad which is locked by the school and was told it will be unlocked once I finish the program. I completed the program on March 8 and requested the iPad to be unlocked. Unfortunately, it is still locked and it has been 2 months and 1 week. How long does it take to unlock an iPad remotely??? Also, I was haunted by several annoying calls and voicemails for months from business support office stating I owe them. I used my GI bill so how could I owe the school? Called them 3x and was told that I dont owe them and it was their auto dialer. Until now, I still get the calls. Do your research finance!!!!
