Understaffed, called and stopped by to make a reservation and there is nobody to help, they even have a big sign saying “get hired today, get paid today” I guess they don’t have a payroll or they’re desperate for employees

Ive been here 3 times while moving this month. It takes them on average 45 minutes to hook up a trailer. When I asked them after 40 minutes when they would have someone out, I was told its pretty busy huh. What actually happened was they forgot to dispatch my order again. There was one customer waiting for propane. And another that was there after I was getting a quote for a bike rackThats it. To top it off, the brake cylinder on the trailer was leaking. When I told them, they said they do that when its hot. I didnt know that brake systems leaked out all of their hydraulic fluid when hot. Needless ro say the trailer Brakes didnt work, my truck brakes were hot the entire time and the trailer was slamming against my reciever. The time before that the trailer had a wheel bearing fail. Rented the same trailer a week later RO 1644. Took 50 minutes to get hooked up. The wheel bearing is still gone and the same p/s front wheel was smoking on the highway.A true display of competency at its finest.

We rented a 10 ft van earlier in the day only to find that the uhaul location didnt inspect the vehicle before having it ready. The driver side door is damaged to the point that it cant close which means we need to hold it close as we drive. We took it to the canyon country location to see about getting it fixed. Nobody wanted to do their job as they left us sitting at the location for 45 minutes. If i never rent from uhaul again it’ll be too soon

Watch out contactless drop off means you get to pay for an extra day because they won’t process your return u til the next day anyway. Had my rental for 8 hours and paid for two days. No one bothered to tell us if we returned two hours before our contract period was up and used contactless drop off that they would charge us for two full days.

In advance, my wife, Minissian, M. chose this U-Haul store not realizing she made an excellent choice among many options. This store is definitely managed by a caring and empathic individual, Fernando. I’m submitting an additional review because of my excellent experience regarding the storage box rental service. I’ll admit, considering my multiple attempts to resolve my request did make me frustrated. However, once I connected with Fernando... My service experience was delivered to 5 stars. Let me also mention the extremely qualified female driver (can’t recall her name) that picked up the storage box was patient and extremely safety conscious. Please be sure to acknowledge this team member! Most importantly, in the thick of these crazy times, there is no better option when we needed to manage our storage needs. We’ll definitely reconnect if we need storage service.

The employees are nice, but something is wrong with the programming of how people can reserve storage units. I had a unit reserved (in advance) to fit my moving truck only to find out that it had been taken by someone else after I drove across the country. We were given two units to hold our items, but they were far too small to hold even half of the size of the truck. Then, I booked another storage unit to try and hold to rest of our items, and I was told that I was taking the reservation of another family. I’m not sure how customers can take the reservations of others. There needs to be a better system here.

Been here 3 times and have had great service each time. Most recently Vanessa helped us and really went above and beyond to show us that we mattered as customers. She represented the company well. Attitude reflects leadership, so Im giving the management and the employees 5 stars.

Would put negative stars, but that is not an option. Was charged $365 to move one painting to the West Side-- was gone about 2 hours, 50 minutes. Went about 70 miles, they said I went 167 miles (so I was charged for those miles, even though I had GPS proof I didnt travel those miles) and then they charged me $96 for 1/8 tank of gas (I put gas in but they said it was not enough.) I have no idea what is going on here, but this amount I paid was about 1/2 of what I paid to move my entire house a few weeks ago with 4 guys and a van 4 times the size. Completely, 100% unbelievable. DO NOT GO HERE.

We made a reservation 4 days prior to coming down ALL THE WAY from Boulder City, Nevada. We came in good faith that we would have a trailer as promised, only to find they had not properly maintained it before we arrived and were not able to pick it up as a result. They did little to nothing to accommodate our situation that they so negligently put upon us, and we ultimately came down for nothing but sorry excuses and slow service.

First off this is the first review I’ve ever written. I don’t do this lightly because I’ve owned businesses and I’ve managed businesses. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use this location for any uhaul needs. I had a hitch installed at this location. My appointment was at 10am they didn’t finish the install for over 6 hours. That’s fine I understand you had a busy day not a huge deal. I left the store and realized they hadn’t given me my hitch drop down and ball. Again partly my fault not a huge deal. Where the biggest problem came is when I got home to hook up the 5x8 uhaul trailer (I had to pick up the trailer the day before because they overbooked our 5x8 and that was the last one left and it was also 20 miles further than the original location.) The brake lights didn’t work!? I called the store directly and was put on hold 2 different times for over an hour when I finally requested the customer service lady stay on the phone while she transferred me over to road side assistance to prevent having to call again the lady had the audacity to hang up on me. I’m assuming because she was just too lazy to do her job. Finally got ahold of one helpful customer service rep named Regina and she got me roadside assistance. I am currently watching So Cal Road Services completely Undo all the work that was supposedly done in the 6 hours the car was at the uhaul location to try to figure out their extremely unreliable work. Absolutely horrible experience top to bottom with uhaul. I don’t care what it costs I’ll never use uhaul again and I strongly recommend you don’t ever use this location. I will say the customer service at first wasn’t bad. As soon as there is a problem though they will abandon you and your on your own.

One star is way over rating them. There a ripoff!!!! Shame shame on them. I was charged three different times in one day. My bill was only $65.00. They charged me $209.00. Taking them forever to refund me.

Even though we liked the Uboxes and the delivery person the billing issues were a nightmare!! We were grossly overcharged for our rental. Almost $1000. Had to go through the credit card company to get it resolved only to have them hire a law firm to re-collect the money they refunded! BEWARE. Always ask that they do not do automatic billing. I wish I knew this ahead of time.

This offices billing department is by far the worst to deal with! They continue to bill you after youve paid everything up front and months after youre done using them. They have billed me for months after and when Ive called numerous times to clear things up, theyve assured me every time that I wont be billed again! But they continue to do so. I do not recommend that anyone use this office to move, unless you like being billed for months after you have already used them

Knowing nothing about towing hitches, I went to this U-Haul office because their price was the lowest of the two I found nearby. The work was to have installed a tow with seven-point connection. They also install the brake assist, but I am waiting on that.The price was very reasonable, the quality of work was very, VERY good, and the salesman was polite & knowledgeable. They attached the hitch to the frame and placed the electric connector in a very attractive spot under the bumper. I would recommend this office for anyone looking for similar service.

The vehicle broke down when I attempted to get gas. When roadside assistance showed up they determined it to be loose battery cables meaning poor fleet maintenance caused the truck to break down. Then I get back to the location in question to deliver the truck and get my car. What do I find? Someone has hit and scratched my car in the parking lot in full view of the front door. No not, no anything, left on my car. Also, my math on the mileage I traveled, determined by Google Maps in triplicate to be sure, did not match the mileage for which I was charged. Will not be returning.Oh, and when I go to post my review following their link? I get an error message and have tried four different times. Way to cover up bad reviews.

1 is because I cant give Zeros. Buyer be aware. They will SCAM YOU. I moved out my storage. Rented a one way truck because I was moving 75 miles away. Months later they started contacting me regarding my storage. I had no Balance. In fact they owed me. I told the manager and whom ever else their employ A Heather no less did not apparently close me out. I came by later at night to find a LOCK.THIER LOCK OR WHOMEVER on the unitI figured they rented it out. Nope the Aholes put a lock on it and continued to charge me. No. They are trying to say I owe over a 1,000 bucks. I am seeing them for fraud. Period.

I rented a truck and a trailer, I was driving from Ca. to Tx. over 1500 miles, when I went to pick them up, the trailer signal lights did not work, I had to come back, it delayed my trip 2 hrs. 2nd, 2 of the tires on the driver rear, inner and outer were worn out, but I was assured that they were good, half way into my trip, the inner tire had a tread separation, I also noticed that the outer tire was bald, likely the roadside service brought 2 tires as I requested as I would have another separation with in a 100 miles, I filed a complaint 4 days ago, and I am still waiting for someone to call me. I called again today, they stated that someone will call me. The service just keeps getting better and better. ugh

Negative stars, when we picked up our truck in Arizona, the worker was a half an hour late opening the shop because he was asleep in his car, we had to wake him up! When he finally got out of his car he wreaked of alcohol! He charged us for insurance we specifically declined, and said there was nothing he could do to refund. Then when we dropped the truck off, damage was sustained when swiping a curb, which is covered by the insurance, so we thought “oh good at least we have that even accidentally”Mike Aure at the Sierra HWY location told my husband to his face that he believe we slashed the tire ourselves! He flat out accused my husband of doing this. Why would we slash a tire for which we would not be paid!It is clear to me that UHaul has no integrity and zero regard for the people to whom they rent. We have full intentions of sueing the owner of the business that accused my husband. Never renting from uhaul ever again. Deplorable.

You guys need to be more accurate with your gas tank readings. You screwed me out of 45 dollars because of this scam AFTER I spent 15 dollars in gas to cover just a distance of 33 miles. This isnt the first time I was scammed out of gas either. I wouldnt even recommend this uhaul to a person I dont like. Your rates are already ridiculous, and then you charge extra fees on top of that! Customer service was completely useless to help with this matter. I will make sure to tell all of my friends, family, AND coworkers to STAY AWAY from this location, if not ALL Uhaul service locations. If I even hear someone mentioning moving, I will make sure to tell them my story about how this place is filled with scammers and crooks. You screwed the wrong person, I hope everyone there knows. You want to know how to improve for the next customer? You cant! Everyone who works there is a criminal! I wouldnt be surprised if some or all of the workers there are pocketing the extra cash that they are scamming out of people. This was an outrageously disappointing experience. I will never return to uhaul because of this. I am going to personally go out of my way to make sure everyone I know does not use uhaul for their moving needs, even if it means I have to move their things for them!!Good luck with your future business. I reserved a twenty foot truck for a move and the afternoon before I was supposed to pick it up uhaul contacted me and said that they had over booked and that I could drive close to an hour away to get the vehicle I was supposed to get here. I had friends coming to help move and having to spend an additional two hours in traffic was completely unacceptable for me and my family. Also would end up having to pay extra for gas and mileage. They cannot be counted on. Also the lady I spoke with at this location acted like it was my fault that they over booked

I reserved a tow dolly from the Canyon Country California location on Sierra Hwy, and the severe issues with my experience started there.Issue (1)Rental of an UNFIT, UNSAFE tow dolly at the Canyon Country Sierra Hwy location.Upon equipment hookup to my vehicle the employee noticed that the tow dolly was damaged (left side support strut broken clean behind front weld) the employee tried to convince me that the equipment was OK for use. I declined and manager inspected and found dolly unfit for use.Canyon Country Manager found me another Tow Dolly at 11666 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CAIssue (2)I had to pick up the replacement dolly at the North Hollywood location and I HAD TO TAKE BACK TO North Hollywood!I had NO OPTION to drop off the dolly at my home city without being charged $150 for the rental.IT WAS U-Hauls FAULT THE EQUIPMENT WAS UNSAFE AND UNFIT AT CANYON COUNTRY, and I should have had options to drop off the rental at ANY U-Haul location at no EXTRA CHARGE due to the inconvenience and dangerously unfit condition of the Canyon Country rental equipment.U-Haul has Equipment Transport Drivers that could have returned the Dolly to North Hollywood that way I could have not had to waste my time and gas to return the dolly to North Hollywood.This was a COMPLETE FAILURE in U-Haul customer service and RENTAL EQUIPMENT SAFETY.

If I could give this company a negative review I would. One star is too much!I was accused to my face of SLASHING MY OWN TIRE! The employee Michael said that. The insurance that I had did not cover the tire damage. Then he said he would knock off $45 if i paid for it now otherwise it would go to collections ($224). Now why would anyone SLASH THEIR OWN TIRE?! Do NOT do business with this location or this business. Go to Penske Trucks where they take care of their customers. I have never been more insulted from a company in my life. I will never do business with U-Haul ever again!

Twice now we have ordered with them directly. Twice now they have sent us to Palmdale. Then they dont have the size trailer we requested so they charge us the upgrade. Go to Penske. I wish I had.

Had no customer parking and asked me to park down the street. Rented a 10foot truck and they forgot to mention it doesnt have a ramp. At the end they over charged me, I called and was told I would get a call back, they didnt call. Very disappointed.

I had a very bad experience. I had a. Early reservation at 7 am at this location on a Saturday 29. Every was going smooth until tech said that they might have received the wrong trailer wiring harness. They said they would not be able to get the part in until two week. I could try to go to a different U-Haul that might have the part. I was ok driving to another location. They called and validate that they had the part that the new location would be able to install the part. At this point my car was left with a lot of loose plastic covers and clicks in the trunk. I didn’t mind because I was under the impression that second location would be able to install it. I drove 30 miles out to get the wiring part. At the second location they claimed that they don’t do hitch installation. I was referred to another location near by. That near by location don’t have any walk in appointments. The soonest it was in 3 weeks. At this point I drove back to U-Haul at sierra location. They were able to take me in and explain that I had been there for an early morning. All it was missing the correct wiring. Tech said no problem they would install it with the new part. I also pointed out the loose parts. He said he would put them. Like about an hour later he tech reached out. He stated that the reason the two wiring hardware were not working is because they are not compatible with my vehicle that they have no idea what part is compatible. I needed to do that research on my own. Also he said he was not able to anything about the lose plastic cover it’s missing clicks. At this point I have no trailer wiring and I ended up with scratches and mis aligned bumpers and loose bumper covers. I will need to take it to a body shop for them to install the cover back correctly. If there is away I can share pictures I’m more than happy to do so. This is not right. I brought my car with perfect body condition. And now I’m having to find away to fix all the damages that were caused by the hitch installer. The shop doesn’t seem to be with any concern about the situation. Definitely not satisfied with any of the services.Francisco B (6/30/2024)
