2023-03-15 20:11:47Responsive, quick, and fair. I always appreciate when a mechanic says, This item will need service/replacement, but it is ok for nowThis is Johns style. I feel like I can trust him.

2017-11-24 20:48:52It was a great experience. John took the time to explain in laymans terms what had gone wrong with my car. He went above and beyond what I expected both in terms of technical expertise and customer service. John has absolute integrity, and I recommend him to anyone in need of a trusted mechanic.

2019-08-26 17:49:37I can count on John to be honest and immediately pay attention to the problem. In this case, he had seen to my truck last week, repaired it but the engine light came up again this sunday. He did a quick plug/computer analysis, determined the area of the problem, which was benign, corrected it and sent me on my way feeling much better. The consultation was free. Thank you John for your professionalism and kindness.

2021-08-20 05:15:45I have used Tuolumne Auto for a few years. They provide excellent service and are very honest and fair. This week my minivan had an issue with smoke coming from my exhaust pipe and oil dripping from underneath the engine. They replaced the cooler lines and had me back on the road the following day. I highly recommend them for your automotive repairs.

2016-12-25 19:18:37John was exceptional in helping me with an ignition problem- 60 miles from home I experienced a lock up of the ignition system- the key would not turn for anything. After calling a few automotive repair places that were too busy Tuolumne was highly recommended. John could do the work, get to the vehicle that day. I took two days to order the part complete the work, take the vehicle to Nissan for re-programming. He even stayed late before Christmas to make sure i had the car that day. Certainly an extra effort and I would recommend his shop to anyone.

2021-03-21 23:18:33Didnt get to experience much of anything I took my vehicle and then dropped it off to have it diagnosed for a tune-up and had it there all day long only to be told that it was locked in the yard and they didnt get to it and cant get it out because the case lock. they did not know that I just pulled in the driveway and the gate was wide open so I had them get my car and cancel out on a diagnosed because I had to do things the next day. So maybe they are good I didnt get the chance to find out seems to be like maybe theyre overbooking

2021-04-02 20:54:40I was in Vallejo, CA last Thursday with the intention of driving to LA on Friday. Then, the e-brake on my Volvo froze. I was going to tow my car to Tuolumne because they were the closet shop with the special tool for Volvo brakes. But, by the grace of G-d, the brakes released and I was able to drive the car. John said the car was safe to drive, no need to come in, and go while the getting was good, just dont use thee-brakes. I appreciated Johns honesty. He didnt try to scare me into bringing to car in for an unnecessary inspection.

2019-06-04 19:03:11Searching for a good mechanic is very different from searching for a good, honest, professional, competent and trustworthy. Ive found it here. Full disclosure, Ive only had oil changes so far and to me, thats the initial test for me, based on my mechanic history. If I come in for one thing and am told about all these other issues prior to addressing the thing I went in there for, that tells me that their main goal is selling, not mechanics. My very first visit to Tuolumne Auto Repair & Electric, was right after I purchased my vehicle (my previous vehicle was being taken to a repair shop in Napa for repairs because wed just moved here and the recommendation was from family in that area.), I wanted to make sure it was on the up and up (because the miles were low and the price was really low)and to perform the first oil change. I made and appointment the previous day and guess what, the appointment was actually written down! So when I arrived, he knew exactly what I was there for AND serviced my vehicle, communicating an expected time of completion. Now, they have a couple of chairs in the entrance, you are welcomed to sit and wait but there are other local businesses to be experienced near by to spend the time. So I left and did just that, just as Id finished up having breakfast from up the street, he actually called to let me know it was ready! Okay, some of you may think, big deal, thats what theyre supposed to do! Youre correct, thats what mechanics are supposed to do. Again, realise I wouldnt be making the statement if that were actually done by all mechanics. Because Ive spent hours waiting for the supposed call only to go back hours later and learn that they forgot to call me to tell me it was ready. Yeah. So I walk back and he has the car ready and gives me the key and states, Thats a good car, you got a good one there. Handed me the keys and we settled up.Seriously yall, I have found my mechanic. The staff and quality of work at Tuolumne Auto Repair & Electric is awesome, professional, accurate and honest, but you dont have to take my word for it.

2012-09-06 18:21:34John is extremely courteous and straightforward. He always has you and your cars best interest in mind and will advise you, in detail, of what needs to be done. He will apprise you of the situation, the cost, and will always ask permission before performing the repair.
