We always love coming here. The location is fantastic and the food is always great.This time my mom had the vegan double burger (beet, walnut, veggies) and I had the O.G. the grass fed beef burger. I tried hers, it was amazing. Pink lime tart for dessert. We always get the charred cauliflower starter and Kale aid refresher green juice.

Last Thursday evening, my girlfriend and I decided to have our date night dinner at one of our beloved spots. This restaurant never fails to impress, and this visit was no exception.Right off the bat, the ambiance was inviting. The patio seating was an excellent choice for us, especially since we had our dogs with us. The cozy setup with heaters created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening. While I often enjoy this place, their service this time was lopsided and dismissive: We had reservations, but the two people who walked in before us got the last outdoor seats, leaving us with a slice of a corner by the parking lot. Then, the juice we ordered came out tasting unfresh; finally, they brought out our main dish before the appetizer, not even aware that we had ordered an appetizer. The main dishes seemed uneven: They were the same plates, but one looked like it had lost a handful. The serve didnt give them to us, but went to investigate the case of the forgotten appetizer. When the appetizer came, we still didnt have napkins or utensils. The server acknowledged that we needed plates and got them for us but forgot about the utensils and the napkins until I reminded him. The table next to us didnt have their silverware either. Then the server got our order wrong, bringing one of the items we ordered even though we had ordered two of them and asked to split another salad. He apologized and went back to rectify the situation again. I just wish he didnt keep checking to see if we had finished our food as of wanting to rush out out of the place. I dont like writing negative reviews, and I appreciate the servers efforts. This review is meant to encourage and motivate management to get their sh*t together because paying for service requires receiving service, especially after a long day.

This restaurant is a really great experience. The food was delicious and tasted so real and healthy. Our server Jake was making, he was speedy and friendly. The interior is really beautiful. It’s a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth the money. I had the Two Egg Breakfast, the eggs were delicious, potatoes were perfectly cooked and the sausage tasted amazing. The bread was definitely on the crunchier side but it was enjoyable with everything in the plate.

The spicy Korean Sandwich is very tasty and just the right amount of spice. Side salad is as fresh as it gets. Wholesome food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and value to boot! We usually dine in but this one was takeout.

True Food Kitchen never disappoints. We have been to the Walnut Creek location a few times and each time weve left happy. On our most recent visit, our party of three ordered an Angus Hamburger, a Winter Harvest salad and a chopped salad. All three dishes were excellent. I really enjoyed the Winter Harvest salad and hamburger. What really stood out this time was the service. My mother-in-law ordered a medium-well hamburger and it came out closer to medium. She was fine with the burger that way, but about 5 minutes later the server brought us another burger informing us that it was on the house because the first burger wasnt medium-well. I was amazed that they would do this, especially since we didnt tell them anything was wrong. Truly outstanding service.

True Food Kitchen at Walnut Creek serves health-conscious dishes such as creative Burgers, Pizzas, Salads, Lasagna and Vegetables. We ordered Rose Sangria, Stella Artois Beer, Lemonade and Cucumber Martini for drinks and relished their Pan Roasted Chicken, Mediterranean Salad and Bison Sausage Pizza for lunch. The dishes were well cooked, fresh, not too spicy, unique and tasty. The staff are helpful and great.

We dropped in for a quick bite. The food lacked luster to say it nicely. We ordered the Thai peanut salad would give it a 2/10 very small portion, tasted like cabbage wothout seasoning. Then had the street corn 6$ for 1 ear of corn but was tasty. Then we had the Spinach and mushroom pizza. The crust was good the topping did not pair well together. The lemon ricotta tasted like old beer, it lacked flavored without it but still tasted better than stale beer. The best thing we had was the water. Yummy nicely filtered water!!! The server was very nice.

The atmosphere is great at this restaurant. soooo much seating, it’s really large. The vegan double cheese burger is very tasty and very hearty, could use some sauce or juice. The potato hash side was a bit bland and not hot - there is no French fry option I’m pretty sure. The adaptive tea was delicious. The menu was diverse. Would eat here again.

I am very satisfied with their foods my mom is very hard to please when it comes to restaurants because she’s a chef she knows but she said this is by far the best food she ever had here in bay area.. I highly recommend this place if you wanna eat clean healthy and vegan. So glad we decided to eat here. Will definitely come back.

Great spot for clean and healty food !!!Found this spot after searching places similar to Urban Plates, which is one of my fav spots for healthy food.If you are on a diet or just simply want clean healthy food, this is a spot you should definitely try.Its nested on the ground level of the cozy Broadway Plaza, which has many shopping options and amazing parking (first 3 hrs of parking is free)I had the teriyaki bowl, with shrimp, and it was fresh and tasty, just lacked a little spice 😋. My appetizer was the edamame dumplings and butternut squash soup. Overall, I was very happy.Service was great, and they have lots of staff to assist with your every need.

Worst service with mediocre food at its best. This wasn’t my first time but it is definitely my last. The server consistently neglected our table and ignored us to the point that I had to wave my hand. I am pretty darn certain that we were being ignored because the server saw us and walked away to wait on another table (multiple times). I’ve been to many restaurants and worked in the restaurant industry for years myself but the quality of service here is by far the worst of the worst. I don’t even like bothering servers so minimal attention would’ve been more than enough but wow. Also they don’t want people to find out about the happy hour menu, so they intentionally hand you the regular menu unless you ask for the happy hour one (during happy hour). That’s real shady and dishonest. Such a shame this place had so much potential.

Came here for lunch with a friend, she ordered a pizza which she loved and I ordered the tofu scramble because our server said it was better than the huevos ranchers. Got sides of eggs, eggs were good, tofu scramble was horrible. Told our server and she said shell take it off the bill, here comes the manager asking what happened and I told her I didnt care for them at all, she asks if she could buy my ice tea, no you normally take off the dish people send back. Offered dessert but umm I havent eaten so I said no. Bill arrived and I was charged for the scramble. Server was really nice, but slower than molasses, had to look for her several times as I was late for a client meeting. This place has potential but need better leadership. I doubt Ill be back, many other places to choose from. Im a Restaurant Consultant by trade and I take my reviews seriously, without prejudice!!

My first time eating at this restaurant last night.. I loved the ambience, I loved the service and loved their food.. I ordered a poke not knowing it’s uncooked meat, and they understood my concern and immediately replaced it with a new dish .. food service is quick and very neat.. amazing for the price and location is amazing too.. Update: 2021 Still good as ever!!! Of course the seating arrangements is different t due to COVID19. They are practicing social distancing, wearing masks, using hand sanitizer.If you want to eat healthy, Id say this is the place for you! Theres definitely plenty of seating and you can make reservations(love that)! It had a very fresh smell when you walked in and such a beautiful ambiance(lighting in the room is not too bright). It was my first time and Im not quite a healthy eater but I always try anything once. I was kind of worried, but they actually had a very good looking menu!I ordered the poke bowl that had the albacore and quinoa! Not a fan of quinoa but I loved the taste of this bowl! The ginger definitely made the different and on the side was the sauce with jalapeño that gave it a kick to the taste. Oh Id recommend the grilled cauliflower for appetizer, it was very tasty. Id say they have something in their menu for everyone...I even saw kids in here so you know its good!

Went on a double date here with my boyfriend. We were seated quickly and loved that we had the kitchen view. We ordered the guacamole, vegan burger and meatloaf. The guacamole was delicious. My boyfriend thought the meatloaf was delicious and one of the best he’s had. The vegan burger tasted like a real meat burger. The service was amazing and we plan on coming back here sometimes soon.

True food kitchen is at multiple locations. We went to the Concord location tonight. The restaurant layout is very spacious and has a great lively ambience. We ordered a local craft beer named Coast which was a light beer ( pale ale) and a vodka based cocktail named Sunrise. Both the beverages were good. The beer was slightly sweet and was very pleasant. The cocktail has a great citrus taste from the lemon and a nice backdrop of vodka. We ordered the edamame guacamole with pita and charred cauliflower for appetizers. Both appetizers were really tasty. The charred cauliflower has a nice charred taste and sauce was really great. The addition of dates compliments the dish very well. The edamame guacamole combined with pea was delicious. The guacamole has a very nice flavor from the garlic and freshness of the citrus combined with the richness of the avocado. The peas chips were also really crispy. For mains we ordered the All grains bowl and the mushroom pizza ( vegan options with vegan ricotta and caramelized onions. The pizza crust was nice and I loved the taste of the mushroom combined with the ricotta and caramelized onions. The all grains bowl has miso glazed sweet potato, green pesto, sautéed mushrooms and quinoa as the main ingredients. The pesto was fresh and had a great taste coming from the herbs, the mushrooms were really cooked well and had a great earthy taste which complimented the pesto. The introduction of the miso glances sweet potatoes was very interesting addition which I I really liked. The service was quick and the staff was really professional and polite. Overall it was a great dining experience.

Hesitant between three and four stars, will go with the lower and with the room for upgrades.Being a franchise restaurant it took well over 30 minutes to cook two salads, having limited menu selection. On the positive side - spacious restaurant inside seating hall, tasty food (yes, Good Earth Cobb Salad and Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl salads were outstanding) and smiling service, thank you Yaneth).Overall liked the place and will see you next time and hopefully will increase the star rating.

Very noisy, busy and huge place. The whole restaurant is open concept. So there’s lots of outdoor seating as well as indoor.The food was well flavored. Not too big portion sizes.Kids portion of chicken teriyaki was a well balanced meal.Pizza’s were good too. They were thin crust and hand rolled dough.Our server was ok. Couldn’t understand what he was saying really. If felt as if he was in a rush and just blabbering out everything.Service was slow. But overall an okay place. Wouldn’t mind going there again.

Fresh food and tasty vegetarian options. The drinks are pretty good, a little light on spirits. Edamame guacamole is great (kid friendly too). Surprisingly, the double veggie beet burger is a lot of food but more manageable than youd expect. Kids cheese pizza is a good size too. the juices are a refreshing touch on a hot day.

We have gone to True Food Kitchen twice in the past two years. The Butternut Squash soup had been amazing the first time around. This latest attempt was truly disappointing. Soup was really watery and had a unappetizing brown tint to it. We sent it back. Rest of the food was great, although overall, food quality has diminished if compared to years back.

There was a hair in my food and the waitress acted totally nonchalant when we told her. The price is too much for the amount of food you get. We were immediately seated outside and were not given any choice, so we were seated in the cold under the only table without a heater, and the table was covered in crumbs and other stuff, which no one cared to wipe up. Only positive is that we weren’t charged for the food with a hair in it. I am not rushing back here anytime soon.

This place is fun and delicious! The atmosphere is very light and airy with a friendly vibe. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable of the food, which really helped in making decisions. I had the Mediterranean chicken pita with a half and half side of kale salad and sweet potato hash. The kale salad was amazing and my chicken pita was full of flavor.The highlight of the meal was the strawberry and rhubarb cobbler that was just out of this world.Overall I am extremely satisfied with my meal. I feel full with out feeling gross and the flavors knocked it out of the park. Its a come back place for sure!

Nicely grilled salmon.Right next the Broadway garage and acting anchor to the plaza, this restaurant is hard to miss with plentiful seating, inviting ambiance, and pumping music. The service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable; once seated I was helped in less than two minutes.But $28.95 for 4 tablespoons of dressing, a small selection of seasonal vegetables, and salmon is extraordinary. I felt robbed while sitting comfortably in the beautiful open air restaurant with smiling servers. There are better deals for perfectly seasoned food, although none as conveniently located nearby.

Located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. True food is part of the Broadway Plaza shopping center. Its a great location and a very busy one. Enclosed in an open modern space that suits the cuisine, it is really nice place to eat and the weather was great that day so again I sat on the patio. My server was very friendly and knowledgable and very patient as I let her know that it was my first time there and I was a Burger, barbecue, steak kinda guy. To help me cleanse my body of toxins lol she recommended the Kale Aid which was green, cold and very refreshing. For my starter I had the insanely good Edamame Dumplings, a Vegan dish made with dashi, white truffle oil, and asian herbs. it was simply amazing. Next up was the Ancient Grains bowl made with miso, sesame, glazed sweet potato, turmeric, charred onion, snow pea, grilled portobello, avocado, hemp seed and I added some grass-fed steak too, to make even better. Just simply amazing with great flavours and how they all blended together made for a memorable meal. This is Truly an amazing place to eat and great to know they have locations from east to west. I do hope they expand to Canada one day.

Then the manager quickly said the sauce quantity was not adequate. They will fix it. We continued our lunch, completely finishing one entree, while waiting for the lasagna. About 15 minutes later, our ”fixed lasagna” came out with a large portion of sauce and tree pieces of noodles in the middle, with some spinach, but no cheese lasagna. I don’t know if they forgot or ran out of cheese?The Manager did proactively take the lasagna off our bill, which was appreciated.However now during our meal, our server neglected to service our table…never asked how was our “replacement lasagna, and no refills for our drinks, etc.Although we regularly go there, 2 - 3 times per month, we need to take a break from this restaurant!End

I was excited to try this place, but was sorely disappointed by the quality of the food. The butternut squash soup looked and tasted exactly like that Imagine brand of boxed soup...thin liquid, weirdly sweetened, no flavor. I had placed a substantial order for my event, totaling nearly $600, and I took all necessary steps to ensure everything went smoothly. Yes, you read that right--on the very day of my event!I was flabbergasted by this unprofessional behavior. The whole point of placing my order weeks in advance and confirming it the day before was to ensure that everything would be ready and delivered as scheduled. This was not a last-minute order; it was planned meticulously, and I relied on True Food to fulfill their part of the agreement.To make matters worse, when I called to inquire about this abrupt cancellation, I was met with a callous response from the general manager, Chris. Instead of offering to attempt to rectify the situation, all I got was a Sorry, can you re-order again? This was a shocking display of indifference towards a customer who had spent a significant amount of money and trusted their service.As someone who values professionalism and reliability when dealing with restaurants, I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am in the way True Food Kitchen handled this situation. Canceling a large order on the very day it was supposed to be delivered is inexcusable, and the lack of accountability from the general manager only adds insult to injury.Needless to say, my event was marred by this experience, and I would strongly caution anyone considering placing a large order with them. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment, as they have demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism, customer care, and reliability when it matters most.

Server apologetic and brought new glass. Slightly cooler but still way too warm. Server said he would reduce wine to house wine at $12 but then at end it was only reduced $10 not $18. Promised my daughter a free dessert that did not happen. I couldn’t find the waiter to get the check. A female manager was kind but the male manager when asked to break a $10 for additional tip money said they were short on cash. Sent me to the back of the restaurant where I stood next to the register without anyone asking if I needed help. Eventually Asked 2 waiters who said they could not help me. Ultimately left a far more generous tip than the server deserved bc I wanted to leave. Doubt I will ever cross that doorway again. Simply awful!!!!

Really good food! My first time after hearing several friends talk about it. The menu wasn’t overwhelming, the venue was calm and bright, and the staff was chill…so essentially healthy for your body AND mind ;) my table shared everything, edamame dumplings, so soft and flavorful, Charred cauliflower, Mediterranean flavors with harissa, tahini and herbs! Then we had the spaghetti squash casserole, amazing red sauce and perfect cheese, and then the chopped salad with grilled chicken, just delicious and the chicken was plump and juicy! Will definitely be going back. $80 for 3 of us and we left full, seems fair.If only I could have smuggled a Diet Coke in…

Ordered a burger to go tonight and was very disappointed. The patty was so packed with salt I could not taste the burger and it was so crunchy because of the salt. I could not eat the burger it was not edible. I dont know what the cook was thinking, but the patty was full of salt that I was able to scrap chunks of it off and you could see it inside the patty too. Its like it was seasoned in just salt. To top it they are ridiculously overpriced, so not worth the money for such a big mistake.

We made a reservation so we were seated quickly. Our server Will was excellent he gave us just enough space without ignoring us. I got the chopped salad it was the perfect size. Everyones food was well prepared. Im not vegan but I try to eat plant based 75 to 80 % of my meal and the menu had plenty of options. They also had a lot of gluten free options as well. I had very high expectations, and they reached none of that. I was greeted by a kind lady, who asked me “outside or inside” I asked for outside and I received inside. When I asked about the change, I got no answer. Then when I sat down Inside I proceeded to find that the menu was online, I understand it’s efficient but it’s so hard to navigate. After I was able to find an expensive meal of my choosing, I had to wait about 20 min just to receive my water. Then I was able to put in my order, my “expensive order” of just a burger and a salad. I also put in a drink order, I asked for a “Shirley temple” the waitress said “absolutely” I was happy that there was an item that I wanted. Then 5 min later the waitress comes up to me and says “we don’t have soda” what is wrong with the employees? They don’t know their menu! After I switched my “Shirley temple” to something called “Prickley pear” it was $5 for some spicy pink drink, horrible. Then I waited for the meal, it took a long time, of about 50 min. Starving, I dig in into my burger, only finding that it has cheese on it, I asked for no cheese. I attempted to flag down the waiters for help, but 2 of them ignored me, I had to wait until my actual waitress came back. When I was waiting for my meal again, I realized that I don’t have any utensils, I was never given any. I attempted to flag down a other waiter, only to be ignored once again. Clearly if that employee ain’t getting your tip, they ignore you. After an hour and 30 min off trouble I was finally able to eat my meal. Then when the waitress came back to refill my water, she spilled it on the table. It’s okay accidents happen, but all she said was “my bad” and left me a table of water. “True” kitchen? I think not, at least the food was somewhat decent, I don’t recommend going here. Also no French fires?!

I ordered the spaghetti squash casserole and the portion was essentially a kids meal. Put your thumbs together and index fingertips together at the same time and make an oval shape. That was the size of my portion. For $19 (chicken sausage is an extra $3) I would expect to be given a decent portion. Even Europeans would complain about the portion size. Came hungry and left hungry. Increase the portion and youll get 5 stars.

I’ve been going to true foods for years and it used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Came today and noticed immediately that the service has just gone to the dogs.We were seated, but ignored by our waitress for a good 10-15 minutes. When we finally had to flag her down to take our order, we had to ask for water. She never gave her name or checked if we needed anything, even after our food arrived.When our food arrived, my partner’s food was completely wrong, but we were so hungry we decided not to say anything. The food was not the same as I was used to, got my favorite Sea Bass and it was bland and tasteless.Such a disappointing visit, I know I will not be returning.

True Food Kitchen not only has great food but has a great location. Ate here on a Saturday afternoon, which seemed like the perfect time to go. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted great. We appreciated the chefs restraint with the garlic too. The ambiance is nice and the staff is friendly and efficient. This place is perfect for a lunch meeting, lunch or dinner alone, a date, or with a couple of friends. It would be hard to do large parties though. Not that they couldnt, but I wouldnt. Enjoy!

The staff were doing shots instead of filling orders. We ordered ahead and scheduled a pick up time. They took an extra half hour to have the food ready then forgot the drinks. Steak Tacos were PERFECT! The Smokey corn side and the cauliflower seasoned rice with a small dollop of guacamole was very good. It is a cavernous dining room with utilitarian metal ceilings that creates a ridiculous noise level that overshadowed any meaningful conversation on this “business lunch date”, so that was frustrating, as we did not want to raise our voices to be clearly audible across the unusually wide tables! Such a bummer. I would still go back for the steak tacos and it would be fine for quasi talking to each other if seated next to each other! There was a lot of good energy and good air circulation, and the squash soup and Poke bowl were also very good as we shared bites with each other! We were only interested in the squash pie for desert and they were out of it. Very busy restaurant with madly dashing waitstaff, so if you are in a hurry, you will wait for your waitstaff person to circle back! Just sayin’!

Wine and beer selection was adequate and not overwhelming. Cocktails were creative but not a focal point. Presentation on most of the food was great, but plating selection could be improved. The seasonal selections were refreshing and most dishes were balanced well. Pizzas were well crafted. The tacos were interesting, but were missing a spice, and the corn was a tap bland. Hummus was great, pita bread would be good cut up. More restaurants need to be like this! If you want fried hohos go somewhere else. Loved this concept and will be coming back.

I really like that there are a lot of vegetarian and Vegan options where you can add optional proteins, as well as a few protein centric entrees. My co-diners and me enjoyed most of the ingredients in our dishes. I felt the appetizers were a little light, but very tasty.Service was casual, good, not great. Had to ask for a water refill. Our entrees came out at the same time with multiple servers.The table spaces were spacious and the noise level was tolerable. We didnt have to raise our voices to be heard.I will definitely go back.

I was impressed with my first visit to True Food Kitchen. Even though it was lunchtime and they were swamped, we only waited about 15 minutes for a table.Hint: Call ahead & make a reservation and load their app before you get there.The waiter came right over to the table and immediately brought our drinks. Our lunch came shortly thereafter. I ordered the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. Excellent quality food. I am impressed!

We have eaten at several true food kitchen restaurants throughout the country. One of our last experiences was at the King of Prussia location and we decided we would not go back. Our service there was not good to Day the least and the food was bland When several of our friends suggested we go to the Walnut Creek location we decided to give it another try.
