Met the doctor at my store I work (she overheard me complaining about the cost of my prescription glasses) and she encouraged me to visit her Optometry office. I did and I was not disappointed! Juan gave amazing customer service and helped me select the perfect frames! I cant wait to make this office my new Optometry Team!

Always an amazing experience here. Dr Samantha Young is so sweet. She was so patient with me and so accommodating. She helped me feel comfortable throughout the exam. The other staff is also very polite and helpful, specially loved that they didn’t force me to get glasses from their place and said I can always get them outside or come back there once I have a decision.

Great overall experience Dr. Chatwani is great and her staff couldn’t be more awesome. My husband and I were fitted for glasses. We found two pairs that we really loved. Theresa was wonderful and very attentive to my needs, and help me with my decisions. Always a have a great check up/visit with the whole team.

Just finished my 3rd visit to Tri-City Optometry today. Nahomi was great with checking me in and doing the initial testing before I saw the doctor. Dr. Young is the best. She is always friendly and has provided great information and support regarding my eyes. They have a great current selection of eyewear and Sandra was able to get me fitted for some new eyeglasses and sunglasses. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Amazing doctors but customer service could be way better. Especially the workers that directly interacts with customers up front, I have noticed that they seem very uninterested in their work and are not friendly at all. My encounter with Sandra, the one who helped me with my glasses, wasn’t a friendly experience. The doctor who helped me with my prescription was amazing - she noticed that I had a stye and offered remedies and made sure that I was comfortable. Would come back for the doctors and avoid having to deal with the ones up front.

This used to be my go to but not any more. I paid $300 for an eye exam only to be told that I needed to be fitted for my lenses. Come to find out that is included in the exam. When I called them out on it, the lady said that I had refused my firting?! Now why on earth would I pay $300 for nothing? That makes no sense. They also got my prescription wrong . So for years I was not seeing clearly. I also found out I didnt have a stigmatism like they had mentioned. . I wont be going back.

We moved to Pittsburg but we still keep coming here for the amazing service that Dr. CHATWANI and her staff provides. They provided my son with an emergency supply of contact lenses to get him to an appointment window for when they could see him. They always bend over backwards for their patients. Searching for optometry services after a long time of not getting your eyes checked? Well, look no further as Tri-City Optometry (in Fremont on Mowrey Ave) is the only place you should go!Why? The STAFF.Everyone here was hospitable, starting at the moment someone picked up my call to open the door to let me into the building.I was kindly directed to my seat and the hallways to various rooms for my appointment.When seeing my assigned doctor, SY, I was professionally informed about the current status of my dear eyes. SY gave me all the details and advice while also answering any questions I had. I had a lot. She was patient and efficient during my appointment. She made sure to clarify her presentation of any complex medical type wisdom in a way, that someone like myself, who is far removed from the optometry world, was able to easily understand the information.After seeing SY, I was immediately assisted by an amazing Office Manager who made me feel at home. We shared jokes and connected on a level that I thought I would not be able to achieve at an optometry office! There is a reason why she is a manager after all!My appointment was originally scheduled for 1 hour but the atmosphere that had been cultivated by the amazing staff just made me want to stay there and hang out!Im excited to come back to pick up my glasses! This will be a 1st Optemery Visit experience that I will never forget!

We started using Tri City Optometry about a year ago and loved it. We went back for our annual checkup today and had the best experience. The place is always immaculate.The service is hands down the best we have ever had. The staff is so caring, and considerate. Our Dr is so great. She explains everything along the way. Asks all pertinent questions. She really makes you feel at ease. I definitely recommend this facility for all of your Optometry needs. The eyeglass and sunglass selection if by far the best Ive ever seen. They take VSP and it covers most of their services.

I took my daughter for an eye checkup. First, they have their own standalone office with a parking lot. Second, the office has a bright, clean look. They took care of us quickly. Everyone was nice. Our eye doctor was Dr. Yujia Zhang and she was really professional and knowledgeable. She was patient and very thorough with her eye exam. Gave us great recommendations at the end. We will be back here for a CRT lenses consultation soon.

I found this place because is on my way home, and not because of any recommendation. We have gone with Dr. Young and Dr. Shital, both have been great with me and my whole family, explaining clearly and with patience for each case.We have had bad experiences before with other doctors when it comes to billing and the use of our insurance, but here, they explain everything I have to understand and they never try to make us pay more than what we have to.All the staff is very friendly and I like that they clean the machines (the ones for making the tests) for every patient. In general, the place is clean, even the restroom.We have ordered glasses, contacts and sunglasses and they come in time and great quality.Besides, there is a huge variety of nice frames to choose from, I just love them.

I ordered prescription sunglasses lenses from this place over 4 months ago. I still have not received my lenses.They made the lenses incorrectly three times and had to send them back each time. I have had to call them countless times to speak to a representative to assist with the delivery of my lenses. There has been a tremendous lack of communication from their end and poor customer service.They offered a lens color from a book that has been discontinued and have failed to match the color and mirror style I picked out. They have good service when you go in to order a pair of glasses. But if your lenses are made incorrectly, it’ll be a huge headache to get them corrected.It’s been over 4 months and I still don’t have my sunglasses.

I had the most terrible customer service of my life here.I ordered a prescription sunglass and I was told it would be ready in 2 weeks. After 2 and half weeks of waiting I called them to check the statusand then I was told it will take another week and half. The manager(Jody) told me how the lab is really slow in their work and a lot of otherdetails about the lab that I wasnt really interested in. You work with that lab you deal with them instead of giving me those reasons.Best thing is no one bothered to communicate to me about the delay until I called to check.After another week comes my glass and guess what, not the color I ordered! Plus the lens had a white circle around it. Another manager(Teresa) checkedwith the lab and apparently they messed it up. She re-ordered the color I wanted and told me she will update me when she gets an ETA.Another week goes by and no updates. I finally call and guess what, I am being told its ready for pickup. When asked why theydidnt call me, they guy on the phone said they werent aware of it being delivered as there was no notification left.I mean really! This pathetic!How awful a service could be? No one is bothered about the customer service, all matters to them is the insurance money.My order was messed up but they didnt seem to care. I have got my glass in 5 weeks and that too a color different from what I ordered.I dont want to visit this place ever again and would let everyone be aware of it that there are much better places available toget quality product and service.

The confirmation call/ready for pick-up call either has incomplete information or the person giving call has inadequate knowledge. We always had to visit twice, after the ready to pick-up calls due to lack of information provided, despite confirming multiple things on the call. This has happened with me as well as my husband. It may be a sheer coincidence but it would be great if you provide complete information on the details of the glass or any such aspect that a customer NEEDS TO KNOW before they spend time driving! Made a call to see if i need an appointment to stop by for replacing the lens (already have a prescription) on my existing frame. And i was informed that this place dont give you that service, and they only replace the lens if you happen to buy the frame from them. Seriously! Now i need to dump by $900 frame that Ive been using for last couple of years! My vision hasnt changed much that my new lens wont fit in this frame. So it all comes to how much profit this place can make having the customer to pick services that they really dont need. I believe optometry as well comes under medical/health-care services and this is as good as denying such a noble service to a patient. Something that the concerned authority start taking actions on.

This location deserves more than 5 stars. I am so pleased with the service I received. I didn’t get the name of the gentleman that assisted me during the exam but he was so polite and patient with me especially when it came to the machine that blows the air. I had a horrible time the last time (no one’s fault by my own lashes) so I was kind of nervous to do it again this time but it was a breeze with his guidance.I was seen by Dr.Young and she has got to be my all time favorite out of all the eye doctors I have had in the past. She’s patient and thorough. She walks you through each step so you know what to expect and she explains her findings in real time so you’re not sitting there wondering how everything is going. Her caring personality and professionalism just made the whole visit so pleasant. You can just tell she loves what she does and she truly cares for you, your eyes and your well being.I was also assisted by Theresa who went over my benefits and copay. She gave me a quick run down of things and what I can benefit from without the pressure of having to pick a frame or make financial decisions on the spot, which is a big deal for me. My family and I have been patients for well over 15 years when Dr Chatwani first purchased her practice in Newark. I was a patient of the former owner. She is amazing, shes engaging, extremely knowledgeable, and accommodating. Her practice utilizes the latest technology, and she takes the time to answer your questions and address any concerns. She takes time to explain me everything and answers all my questions. Other staff members are great too! Also I’d like to note that the place itself looks nice and modern, all exam rooms look clean, pretty good selection of frames as well. And they take great precautions during the pandemic: they ask to sanitize your hands upon arrival, they let patients in and out from different doors to minimize unnecessary contact. All equipment is well sanitized before every use. Patients are allowed to try on different frames but frames are returned back only after being sanitized. Thank you for doing great job guys!

The girls In front that help with choosing the right frames are so sweet and really know their stuff!!! I had an uncomfortable experience yesterday that I am still confused today. Two days ago, I made a reservation to browse frames in this site. However, when I arrived in time, the staff at the front desk first checked me in, then she started to complain to me that she should have gone for her lunch a half hour ago and my arrival made her stay longer... Honestly, I still dont understand why she attributed her late lunch schedule to my arrival as they are not relevant at all and I didnt ask her to stay or do anything for me.Furthermore, I also made it clear when I made the appointment and yesterday that I just want to browse frames. But the front desk staff told me to bring my prescription next time and then I can browse their inventory at that time. I am really confused why the prescription is needed because I may not even find the frame that fits me well this time. Since I really dont have much more time to come in another time, I asked her if I can just briefly look around this time. She then asked another girl to help me out as she was leaving. Then when I was browsing the frames, she, suddenly, shouted from the other end of the hallway:Miss If you touch it, we have to sanitize it! Then she walked away leaving me feel shocked and embarrassed.In general, I really feel uncomfortable when the staff acted with such anger and aggression. This is my first visit and will be my last.

I was very concerned about my vision, especially when it comes to driving at night on the freeways. Dr. Chatwani who is a long time friend (our kids played Little League together) has always said to come by and get an eye exam. She assured me it would not be difficult nor painful. I got tested with the latest technology which was pain free and super quick. We spoke about my options and she helped me make a good decision that should make it easier for me to drive at night. Superb! Came here for frame selection and lenses. They pulled out my insurance policy correctly (unlike some eyewear stores that would overcharge me). E.g. high index 1.67 is a nominal copay rather than $xx+.Great selection of frames, and they applied correct discounts on selected brands using my insurance.Deliver time is reasonable given the pandemic situation. Theyre Zeiss certified, and the glass came with a Zeiss certificate. That means highest optic quality that I can trust.The staffs are very friendly and professional. This review is particularly for Dr. Shital Chatwani. We had an appointment for eye exam for my daughter. She never had glasses and we were shocked to know that she is near sighted after Dr. Chatwani examined her. She was advertising to get corneal lenses and it seemed bit pushy to me. As it is not covered in any insurance and the cost is pretty high (~$2000/yr), we didnt like the option. However since this is first time we learned that my daughter is near sighted, we decided to get second opinion.The second opinion was very different than what Dr. Chatwani prescribed. So we went there again to get clarification. This time she was very rude and blaming us to get the second opinion. It is my right to get second onion for my child and there is nothing wrong with it but since it was very different than what she described, she took it personally and it hurt her ego. She was very uncooperative and instead of explaining things or retesting, she was kept blaming us to get the second onion. This was very unprofessional from her. We had upcoming appointment for my wife but we decided to cancel that instead because of her being rude. We are never going back there but posting the review here to let other people know that there is a rude and unprofessional doctor out there who you can avoid.

The appointments are spaced out such that there is not a lot of crowd at the location.The bad: There is a conscious effort to upsell at every instance. Giving it a one star for service. No doubt doctor is good. The frame we ordered for prescription glasses was replaced by another color. On calling they lied that they mentioned to me that it will be replaced once the required color will be available. They never called back. Apparently doctor suggested to avail the free sunglasses as per my insurance before the year ends. Price of sunglasses were unduly bloated . We did a mistake of using one complementary pair of sunglasses just before the end of the year thinking we can get prescription glasses, an extra pair, at the start of the next year. Now they say you cannot order another pair of prescription glasses by the end of this year. I expect the right Info to be given to customer and help them make right choices . They know better and first time customers might be amateur making right decisions.

Long story short: come see Dr. Chatwani! Coming from someone who has been to 4 other Optometrists prior to her, shes the best! And Ive been coming to her practice for 13+ years aka half my life! PLUS!! shes the Oakland Athletics Optometrists....whats NOT to like!?I absolutely love coming to Tri-City Optometry! I have been coming to see Dr. Chatwani ever since she took over the business location from the previous Optometry that was in Newark....so about 13-14 years! I never miss a year without stopping by to get my vision checked by Dr. Chatwani and catching up. She knows my family and always remembers to ask about all of them. Last year, I changed vision insurance and sadly, it only covers getting my vision checked AT Kaiser. There is no one else I trust to get my vision right other than her! I decided to pay the exam fee out of pocket (thank you FSA! Its $150 btw) and attend my yearly exam. Dr. C took the time to get my vision correct, there was a lot of back and forth trying to her my right eye with the best prescription possible. She doesnt like to double check - she triple checks! Thankfully, only my right eye was an issue and was the culprit for the sinus headaches and vision issues I was experiencing.Afterward, you get to pick out glasses if youd like - or you can bring a pair and just have the prescription updated. I picked out two pairs of glasses - a D&G and Ragbone pair - which I will post when I go pick them up. Also, if you have a Flexible Spending Account and have a balance remaining before the end of the year/spending year, they will cash out the FSA and give you a gift card to spend it on frames, sunglasses, etc.! It gives you another year to use and save it for what youd like.New location is amazing btw. If you went to the previous one in Newark, it was nice and cozy and felt like home - but now its so open, and spacious...which means so many MORE frames to choose from!

I have been using Tri City since 2005. All the staff are friendly and courteous and are knowledgable. They explain everthing to you about the whole processs from eye exam to new glasses. I always look forward to seeing them all.
