I was a new customer and bought my first mountain bike at Trek Bicycle. Three of my cousins bought bikes there and recommended me to talk to Tyler. Tyler helped me out and was awesome. He is truly passionate about the sport and has loads of knowledge. I felt at ease that he offered to help me and show me how to load it properly on a bike rack. I’ll definitely be back in again to buy equipment and safety gear.

Im happy with the Level 2 tune up my Trek bike got at Trek Bicycle Palm Desert. They were busy so I had to wait for my bike to be serviced, but it came back like new with everything adjusted and polished. Plus the manager Tyler, who is really great, apologized for the delay and dropped off my bike yesterday with a new mirror and a water bottle. Thank you Tyler for the excellent customer service!

In particular, Tyler has been very thoughtful and informative as he helped us to assess our needs. Without any pressure, Tyler guided me to a Trek Verve 3…and I absolutely love it! I went to get a broken bladed spoke replaced and the wheel trued. Promised a 2 day turn around. After several missed orders and incorrect orders, it was a 10 day effort. No apologies on pickup and full price. I should have checked the repairs more closely there but went home and found that the new spikes didn’t match the old ones and were not aligned. I took the wheel back and was told I would have to leave the wheel again because there were “other people” ahead of me. After being without the bike for the first 10 days, I wasn’t going to leave it for another 10. So I’m left with a wheel with mismatched spokes and still out of round. Their attitude was quite dismissive.

No issues with service but WORD to the WISE, DO NOT pay for your bike through the website! This shop is forced to use a third-party processor for online purchases which can hold up the process for hours to days. Buy in person only.**Follow up. 06/04/2024. Poor follow up. I have had some small technical issues regarding the bikes computer and app integration that have gone unsolved for 2 months now with no contact from the location.

I used their service center to have some very basic work done on my bike. They were prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. When told I would be going out of town on the day they wanted me to pick up my bike, they made it work for me to come in the day before. I would highly recommend their service if you care about a job done right.

I’m a out-of-towner who showed up, unannounced, with punctures in 3 of our 4 tires (it had been a day). Bobby (at the service desk) discussed solutions for our conventional and tubeless tires. Repairs were carried out efficiently and effectively. I learned how to better deal with such situations in the future. I came into this bike shop the Saturday before my Sunday half ironman. American Airlines had broken my front brake, and i was so scared I wouldnt be able to race. Tyler spent over twenty minutes fixing my bike, and when I tried to pay him, he said, pay me by having a great race. Tyler, I had the best race. I couldnt stop smiling and had so much fun, and every time I found myself getting defeated I thought about your comment and generosity, and then I smiled again. Thank you. I have been a customer at Palm Desert Cyclery for more than 10 years. They have always been free with information, and continue to educate my friends and I. I have purchased new bikes there, and I have brought in bikes for repair that I purchased used elsewhere. I have always been received courteously and respectfully. Bought a Trek Verve 3 from the Palm Desert shop this week. Very impressed with their product knowledge and great selection. The staff seemed genuinely eager to set me up with the best gear for my cycling needs. Zero pushy salesmanship. They were helpful, attentive, and totally focused on me. Their turnaround time to get my new bike delivered was remarkable (less than 24 hours). I bought two Como Specialized eBikes from Tyler four years ago. I recently had new tires mounted, wonderful and pretty puncture proof. Had to return with them, both bikes were having some computer troubles. The crew there are always ready to help unload, evaluate and take care of my bikes at a very reasonable price. I wish I knew the name of the associate that helped me as he was FANTASTIC. I walked in with a vague idea of what I was looking for and he very effectively walked me through all the options that would meet my desires. He presented a range of options, both from the perspective of intent and price. He helped me find exactly the right bike for my budget and desires and then helped me do a test ride. I was sold immediately!The service was exceptional, the expertise of the staff was exceptional, and the bike was handed over to me in exceptional condition - I was able to do a 10 mile ride that same night!

Super informative and great customer service. We were visiting from the Washington State and needed to replace a stole Thule bike rack. When I called the store Jake was really helpful with the options and purchase. They put the rack together and had it ready for me the next day. Brad installed it on my car and gave us a thorough walk through of how the rack is installed and removed. Great shop. I highly recommend to anyone looking for any type of bike service or purchase!

The repair person fixed my rear wheel. The three paws that engage when you are pedaling forward had fallen off with the cassette. He fixed it in about a minutes gratis. Very nice service and I will go back there again when ever I need something fixed on the bike. Thanks!!

These guys have the patience of saints. Ill admit I ran into a few snafus during the pandemic but who didnt everywhere and they have more than made up for it. I think the former challenges I had was with one employee who no longer works there and am really happy I held in there. Ive been working with Jake on a new bike purchase and he could not be more informative or accommodating. I have LOTS of questions as a new rider and really appreciate the time and education. VERY UNHELPFUL. I went in to Palm Desert Cyclery with a flat tire. Two guys were in the back. The younger one was rude and dismissive. He immediately told me they were a month behind, and they did not fix my type of bike (which is a two wheel, semi-recumbent - regular gears, brakes, etc. - nothing irregular about it). When I said I only needed a flat tire replaced, he told me that would not take a month, but (without checking) that they do not carry tubes for that size tire. (It was the back wheel, which is a standard size.) I pushed back a bit on the tube size, and then he told me they could not fit my bike on their stand (It is not a three-wheel; it has fit on other standard stands without problems) and could not take off the tire. I offered to pick up the bike, or flip it over for them so they could easily remove the (easy latch) back wheel and if I could leave the bike and pick it up in a few days. He declined, saying that would be the same as them fixing it. He gave me absolutely no suggestions - just no, no, no. He clearly did not want to help me.The older guy there was not rude, but also confirmed they could not do the work. After I asked him, he gave me a few other names. One of them was closed. Another (which as I recall he told me about) only does work by appointments.Eventually I found Palm Desert Bike n Brews. They were awesome! Despite being a much smaller shop, they had (not surprisingly) the (standard) tube I needed. Even though they were approaching close time, Joe offered to fix it on the spot. My bike was tied up and half-hanging out of my trunk. He also offered to take the wheel off and replace the tire without me having to untie the bike and wrestle it out of my trunk and then back in after. Their mechanic was also great and had absolutely no concerns about working on my bike. As a surprising bonus, they had a small bar in the back of the room and I had a beer while I waited! The whole team at Palm Desert Bike n Brews was great - nice, engaging, and helpful! They have my business forever, and I highly recommend them - especially over Palm Desert Cyclery.

Just bought a new ebike from them. I was pretty indecisive, came in 3 times before I pulled the trigger on one. Brad was super helpful in discerning the differences, helped me thoroughly test ride a few different models, and encouraged me to sleep on it and come back when I wasn’t 100% sure which to choose. Great, old school, local bike shops (in nice, relatively new buildings, complete with functional A/C). Sufficient (mostly abundant) inventory of quality products, including virtually ever category of gear and tools you might need. Competitive pricing. Polite, professional, friendly, welcoming staff who actually know stuff that isnt already printed on the product packaging and who can get their jobs done efficiently and effectively while still maintaining a laid back, fun atmosphere. Jake was FANTASTIC and spent a TON of time with me - both in ensuring the bike fit me correctly and in giving me all the maintenance info I needed to know but, as a beginner cyclist, had no idea about. He even spent over an hour AFTER the store closed patiently explaining everything to me, even such things as how to remove the wheel and lock up the bike which I had no idea how to do. Sales team was nice. Who ever set up the bike had no idea what they were doing. The rear through axle fell out on me on the trail. The derailleur wasnt set up right and they overtightened the core on the valve stem and the tip broke off on a ride. That all happened in the first week of owning the bike. When I called to see if they could send out a new valve stem, they acted like I didnt know what I was talking about and in the end, they never sent the replacement that they said they would.

I needed a saddle replacement and was invited in on my telephone inquiry to see the inventory and talk to an associate. Sure enough, the inventory included exactly the saddle I was looking for. I was helped within 10 minutes of arriving in the store, met a fellow cycler and had a delightful conversation, and was also have my bike fitted with the new equipment including a safety light within another 15 minutes. We regularly visit this shop for all our cycling needs while in the valley. This year, we called to put a pair of bikes on hold, for about two months, until we arrived. With all the supply chain shortages so many businesses have been experiencing, we were pleased that, despite offers from other customers to “outbid” us for these bikes, the shop refused to sell them to someone else before we arrived. Not only are the staff pleasant and knowledgeable, they have integrity as well.

Unfortunately, I havent been able to ride my bike since I bought it since Ive been out of town. Over the weekend I was converting my tires to tubeless and noticed that my front wheel was out of tune. I went to my local bike shop (Exhale Bikes) and Cody tuned it right up and better yet at no charge! I was really very disappointed today when I went in to buy a bike cover for my electric bike and some additional supplies. The guy that waited on me acted like I was sort of in the way and tried to hustle me out as quickly as possible. When I also asked for oil he went to the back where the oil was and pulled out the cheapest one in said here this is the cheapest one and when I reached over and selected the better brand he said yeah that would be better but it costs more. When I ask for the U shape lock he told me no this is the new version of it and showed me something different which I didnt want and then he said why dont you just buy a chain. Gone are the days of just 26wheel diameter...add to that 27.5 and 29 with various widths, reg, plus, and fat.
