I love Trader Joe’s in general, and especially this location! After frequenting quite a few Trader Joe’s locations in different areas, this is certainly one of our favorites for sure. Generally, always well stocked, great selection, and prices of foods as all their locations have, and super friendly staff, which is always a huge bonus! There is certainly plenty of parking, right around the location in the parking lot, Bill caveat is it can be a little crazy with cars and pedestrians if you happen to park right in front of the store. Otherwise, if you park a little further away in the lot, it’s less of a headachein coming and going from the lot itself. Even though it’s about a 40 minute drive each way from where we live, it’s definitely worth the drive compared to shopping at any of the other Trader Joe’s locations in the opposite direction from where we live.

I come here all the time. This Trader Joes does a great job of keeping most of its items in stock, but has difficulty keeping any popular holiday based items in stock consistently misjudging what the demand will be for them. The place is typically kept pretty clean and all the employees have always been kind and helpful. I will say Id be interested in seeing them stock a wider range of the typical Trader Joes baked goods and snacks because the selection here is a little bit lower than at some other Trader Joes Ive been to and that typically means I cant find a snack item I want here and have to go elsewhere.

Great grocery store with many options for healthy eating and taking care of yourself. The Trader Joes brand is prevalent and respected. The store is full of high quality products from flowers to food, and wine to soaps. Dont forget the treats either because they carry a variety of goodies that are unique and delicious!

My first time at a Trader Joes and it went pretty smoothly. No long lines, there was a great selection of food, and I like how they had chest freezers below shelves of dry food. The overall design of the store layout seemed like an efficient use of space. They have printed lists of gluten-free items that they carry, available for anyone to take with them as they shop. There were a couple of cosmetic-type items I saw on my way out that seemed a bit pseudoscientific but otherwise harmless (to each their own, I guess). The cashiers were friendly and everything we bought was reasonably priced. Overall, a good grocery-shopping experience.

This was one of the first stores I saw to open the no mask policy for vaccinated people which I appreciated. The store manager is on top of keeping things running smoothly and Ive never had to wait for more than 30 seconds in line. It always seems like Im getting a discount when I check out here, as opposed to other stores where I always end up spending more than I expected. I like that.

Do NOT ever go into this Trader Joes if you own a Service Dog. On 2 occasions I was so harassed by an employee that for months on end I couldnt go back. Tonight was the last time I will ever step foot inside this store; the same employee saw me, asked me to move when I was NOT blocking anyone; he then stated This is our second busiest day of the year which was irrelevant. I stopped what I was shopping for (Thanksgiving dressing) and moved away to the back of the store, whereas I was approached by the Captain who asked if my service dog was sick because he went to the bathroom inside the store. I went to look, I was shocked; My service dog had just been on an hour long walk around the park, had no pee (or anything else) left inside of him, just 10 minutes prior.I went to look at the pee; a St. Bernard could not have possibly peed over such an area where my Dog wasnt even standing.I cleaned it up with my sweater; it was water, looked like water, smelled like water and was not yellow, it was clear.The Captain WAS LIED TO BY THE EMPLOYEE WHO COULD HAVE SHAKEN WATER TO THE FLOOR AS HE WAS STOCKING THE FREEZER/REFRIGERATOR AREA. She (Heidi) was visably upset as was I; I called her when I got home to reiterate it was not pee. Still humiliated for myself and my service dog, I called later; a male Manager said (I) got several people very upset, I could call the Police and I didnt have to shop there. He also said he has a Service Animal because he lost a lot of people; thats NOT a Service Animal; thats an Emotional Support Animal.THEY HATE SERVICE DOGS AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION BECAUSE (THEY SAID) MANY PEOPLE COME IN WITH THEIR ANIMAL AND (LIKE THE MANAGER) CALL IT THEIR SERVICE DOG.We have ALL lost A Lot of people;I hope Im next. IM 70, A FEMALE, AND WAS TRYING TO RESCUE THANKSGIVING FOR MYSELF: NEVER MIND!!!The Human Race is a cruel race of savages and they get to savagely attack you if you bring your Service Dog to this Trader Joes...#Horrible Experience # You are forewarned.Heidi the Captain was upset, as I was, was as kind as she could be after she was SET UP BY THE EMPLOYEE WHO LIED TO HER.MY DOG PEES IN ONE SPOT, NOT SEVERAL 1 INCH DROPS 8 INCHES APART ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE AISLE, after just having completed a 1 hour run/walk. #liarssuck.

I love Trader Joe’s in general, but I just had an amazing experience at the one here in Santa Maria! My fiancé and I were chatting with the clerk Kevin about how we were making some charcuterie boards for our upcoming wedding and on top of being super personable and making conversation easy, he went above and beyond and offered us a wedding gift of one of their beautiful Orchids. I was so blown away at the kindness and generosity, specifically from Kevin. This store is so lucky to have him and I’m planning on coming to this Trader Joe’s instead of the one closer to home just because of how kind the staff is. Thank you Kevin!

0ne of my favorites! To the right, customers are greeted with well-priced fresh flowers- always- they seem to be never low on stock. They have a lot of organic fruits and vegetables, dairy, and frozen items that I love and cannot find anywhere else...for example, lamb vindaloo and other Indian frozen meals. I find my unique chips and hummus, handy for healthy lunches or snacks at work.I love both the smallness yet richness of the place. The clerks are always hometown friendly. You can find unique,quality items- and who doesnt like flowers?

I arrived 10 minutes before closing and was surprised at how many people were there so last minute. I was absolutely delighted to see all the employees were STILL at the top of their game!!! It was a bit overwhelming to try to find stuff because they are crammed with all kinds of items I am not familiar with. Aisles are narrow and crowded. Fortunately the carts are small. I had read that you can save money by shopping there but my wife usually does most of the shopping so I cant compare. If I was single I would love to shop there and try a lot of the unique things they offer but I was just after the basics so ended up going to Foodmaxx for most of my needs. My sister loves their Trader Joes store brand products so shops there often.

I was visiting from out of town. My 98 year old Mother in Law needed to go shopping. She requested to go to Traders Joes. I have never experience such amazing customer service before! We encountered 7 employees, some twice. Each and every one of them were absolutely wonderful, so sweet and so very helpful. I was just absolutely amazed! Their prices are always reasonable and often have items on sale that are normally not at other stores. Really disgusted with this store. I called last night asking if they could hold an item for me. It’s something I really really wanted and I would be driving from Santa Barbara to get it. All the other stores were sold out. The Extremely rude and Foul mouthed woman on the phone, stated “we don’t hold items“. Which not only is a lie and goes against their corporate policy, but I called back later pretending to be someone else and offered the woman $10 to hold the item for me and she was glad to do it. The prices are most of the time better and competitive to other high quality supermarkets. They focus on fair trade and cruelty free foods. I was in CA and stopped by this location to get some essentials and was amazed by the level of customer service displayed by the crew. They were professional and friendly and interacted with shoppers. One of the crew members( I think his name is John) helped me out with my groceries all the way to my truck that was parked in the alley, I mean it was a 1/4 of a mile of walk and He didn’t really have to do that... so thank you Sir, you are greatly appreciated.

Also, when you have the time, I recommend to look thoroughly, cause they have so many items that you dont see in regular markets, good way to make recipes with a different flair. I like this trader Joes mainly because it is closer to me than the one in n Santa Barbara. However the selection is more limited. The clerks are very friendly and are super helpful. Dont be surprised however if they dont have what you need on your list. Certain items run out quick such as there canned organic coconut milk. Otherwise you get a lot of products for your money. I very much enjoy how much money I save on cooking oils and produce.

I go here about twice a month.*Staff is friendly and helpful.*There are standard items I often search out to buy again. These include their Brown Rice Medley; Chipotle mayonnaise; Flax peanut butter; Indian sauces; bags of broken walnuts; and, of course, their 99-cent bags of dark chocolate peanut butter cups!*Their meats are top-notch, but I almost never buy produce from them. Twice Ive found spoiled produce still in their bins. And TJs cellophane bags are bad, not only for the environment, but for the produce itself.*Perhaps because the stores been there a long time, I dont know, but the layout of the store is somewhat nonsensical to me, especially the area by check-out.

I go to Trader Joes weekly not only to shop but to enjoy the smiling faces of all the team members. I am disabled and have a hard time walking for long. Every week I call the store from my car in the parking lot and a team member always brings the handicap chair to my car. Service with a smile! Heidi, the manager, never ceases to amaze me. She always has an upbeat attitude no matter what is going on in the store. She recognizes me and always makes it a point to say hello. Yesterday, the day before Thanksgiving, I noticed that she was following me in the handicap chair on my way to my car with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I assumed she was leaving for the day. Not only did she say Hello and Happy Thanksgiving but she told me that the bouquet of flowers was for me! She knows that times have been rough for me and wanted to show her appreciation for my patronage. I look forward to the great service each and every time I shop there and yesterday was extremely special! Thank you Heidi for being an awesome person, manager, and tem leader!

Its uually pretty crowded, but this store is always worth it. My favorites are usually in stock, but if not it is always easy to find someone who will happily drop what theyre doing to go trot to the back to see if they can find it. His is the place to go if you want to. Are a nice charcuterie board. They have all the cheeses, dried fruit, meats, chutneys, and nuts you could dream of. Definitely also try the pesto filled tortellini and their pesto sauce. The sweet chili sauce in that same aisle is perfect for dipping egg rolls, fried wonton, and a host of other appetizers. This store was my mecca when I was on Whole 30 because they have all the stuff... coconut aminos, no sugar-added and no nitrites-added products, and even the jerky sticks come in a variety of flavors and are W30 compliant!The only downside is that I feel like Im at an airport screening when Im checking out because you have to stand in a marked yellow box on the floor that seems more like 8-10 feet from the cashier, who is already behind a plexiglass barrier. I cant see the items as theyre being rung up, so I cant reject an item if it turns out to be more than I thought (often shelf tags go missing in the store). This is a temporary situation though, so it didnt affect my rating.

You will not find another health food store with prices this fair. An ever changing selection of food and some down right wacky selections at times like the Fire Cracker Bar [a spicy dark chocolate bar with pop rocks inside] to natural versions of your favorite junk foods all for a fair price. They even have a $2 loaf of sandwhich bread that is completely free of junk ingredients, hard to justify not shopping here sometimes. A very clean place to shop with handwritten item descriptions and a staff that ALWAYS seems to be in a good mood! Theres a great little section with toys for kids, very nice place to shop thats only as pricey as you want it to be.

Strange combinations are normal at Trader Joes.Too many items are So Close to being tempting to me,but theres usually something about them that doesnt quite work.There are a few things I go back for repeatedly, though, such asraw almonds, Golden Rounds crackers, nacho cheese tortilla chips,and Reduced Guilt kettle chips.The one weird product I tried as soon as I knew about itwas the turkey-and-stuffing potato chips, which are available Onlyin season, namely from November until the stock runs out.They nailed that one! I love Trader Joes, waited for years for it to come to town, and its almost the only place I shop now.The only complaint I have is about some of the fruit. Fruit from Farmers Markets in SB or SLO is more flavorful, juicier, riper. (SM Farmers market closed for the Covid.)You can buy peaches, for example, they will be rock hard, and the employee will tell you they will be ripe w/in 3-4 days. Not true. They go from rock hard straight to rotten. The same w some other fruits.Blueberries are okay, so are pears, Italian cherry tomatoes, some others. Papayas can be really bad, hard forever. Some Hispanic markets have incredible papayas, like La Pricesa, for instance, on Broadway.But the Dark Chocolate Lacey Almond cookies I cannot live without. Chocolate ganache cake, cinnamon swirl bread, salmon fillets, French Brioche bread, too many more things to mention that you cannot find in any other store. (Ive just convinced myself to rate a 5, in spite of the earlier complaints.)

Compared to other TJs Ive shopped at throughout the country, the space is not very well utilized for their products and registers. Unlike other locations, employees are stingy with the empty wine boxes, and didnt want to give me one even though I spent over $100 on groceries. Apparently they save them for people buying wine. The many crew mates are not careful when bagging groceries and dont utilize the insulated bags I bring for cold items.
