Wish I could give more than 5 stars! I worked with Daniel and Renee at Total Senior and they were both fantastic. Navigating the process of finding senior care is so challenging - and even more so for me since I live on the east coast and am finding care for west coast relatives. Daniel generously listened to my questions and concerns and provided two locations and contact people for me to visit. Renee provided constant follow up and emotional support. She is not kidding when she says, we are here for you. I certainly feel supported like I hadnt before. You cant go wrong with Total Senior.

I cant say enough good things about Daniel and his team at Total Senior. There is nothing worse than the feeling of overwhelm that comes with finding the right care for a sick parent, and when I was right in the middle of that stress, they came through for me in a big way. They were communicative, efficient, compassionate, and available. I would recommend them to anyone in a heart beat.

Daniel is fantastic. He knows the San Fernando Valley and elderly/memory care resources in the area very well and is well known and trusted within the community. He also has tons of resources and was able to not only provide a great home option for my loved one, but also home health companies that could provide additional health/care services for my parent at her new assisted living facility.Daniel listened to my moms history without judgement, my complaints about previous homes, and my long list of must haves for my parents placement. He was able to quickly find me assisted living homes that would suit my mom and guided me through the process of getting her the RIGHT care. My mom is now in a wonderful home that meets all of her needs and every one of my must haves. Shes also receiving additional community resources such as counseling, occupational therapy, and physical therapy -- all of which was facilitated by Total Seniors recommendations and guidance. I feel completely supported in the care of my mom and I have Daniel to thank for guiding me to it. Do not hesitate to put your trust in Daniel.

Transitions are difficult for many of us, but especially when it is happening at the urging of family or friends. My aunt needed to move to a place where she would be safe, cared for and have opportunities to socialize. Total Senior was an immense help. Daniel spent time talking about my aunt’s needs and wants as well as a review of finances. Renee then sent listings and names of contacts fitting our requirements. They did all the leg work and then we narrowed down our options. They understood my aunt’s experience as well as mine in the challenges of helping to make this move. Renee repeatedly checked in with me to see how my aunt was doing and if she could make any other referrals to assist us. She even connected us to a business that would help us sort through all my aunt’s belongings, pack and move, empty the rest of a well loved home of 23 years. She continues to stay in touch to see if there is anything else we need. I am so appreciative of Total Seniors guidance and support!

Daniel Sagal is the head of this Total Senior. HE IS A CON man and a liar: a scoundrel who gives the entire business of placing a member of the family who has dementia a horrible name.He has no regard for anything but money and excels and finding ways to lie to you and the State that ensure he is successful at filling his coffers with no regard to his clients or those who are NOT his clients. My husband suffers from Lewy Body Dementia, and, starting a year ago, after four and a half years of hands-on care by me, I began looking for the right place for him, calling several placement agencies (they say we do not charge you, and that is true. They are paid by the place wherein they finally put your loved one).I worked with two women, looking for the right place, but I decided to wait until Spring, when I began looking again with the same women. I saw a few places, but NEVER was Belmont brought up to or shown to me.Word apparently spreads in this industry and I got a call from Total Senior, a nice woman there (Renee) who works for the man who runs it, Daniel Sagal. I told her I was working with others and did not need to take on another firm, but she would call every two months or so.I heard about Belmont from my daughter who is friends with another friend of ours who is close to the head of Belmont, Burbank. I called the woman at Belmont Burbank and we talked and she suggested Belmont, Encino. I went there, saw it and put my husband in. All on my own.Several months later, I was hit by an attack of unsurity, & decided to check out a few other places while my husband remained at Belmont. I got a call from Renee (whom I had never met) and she again said, talk to Daniel (which I had never done), and I finally did, then met Daniel (ONE TIME) at his OWN start-up little bed and board place (incidentally, against the California law if you already head up a placement center and then refer to your own place).I went there, met him, liked and was very keen on it though I asked him to allow me to think and NOT TO ALERT BELMONT ENCINO THAT I WAS LOOKING. He promised he would not.The next day, I found out not only that he HAD, but he had insisted to THEM that he was the one who originally referred me to them (which he was not). This is like demanding payment for a job not done for the people who DO end up placing your loved one, get equal to a full month of the payment to the facility in which they place them (ergo, Daniel would get around 12K for this placement for which he had NOTHING TO DO WITH, but nonetheless demanded). He then proceeded to call myriad different abed and boards and larger places for dementia and put HIS name as the referral for me should I EVER CONTACT THEM. Again, LET ME REPEAT: without my okay, without ever mentioning these places to me, HE took the liberty of putting his name down as my referral SHOULD I EVER GO TO THEM, thus ensuring he would get the money for referring me).He then called me and strong-armed me, telling he had one bed left at his home (which was not true) and I had to sign up now. Since I had just heard through the grapevine that he had strong armed the powers that be at Belmont, Encino, I wrote him a strongly worded email and told him I would never place my husband through a person like he who was so deceitful. The bottom line is this. We are at the mercy of others and the illnesses of our loved ones during this process of placement and people like Daniel, and I am sure, others, take advantage of it for their own monetary gain. Daniel, however, takes this to a new and insidious level. He acts above the law, without care of the law, without care of feelings and emotions and in a purely monetarily-driven fashion.Do not go to this con man. I am presently engaged in reporting him to the State for heading up a placement firm, Total Senior, and additionally referring to his own little six-bed unit that he has purchased (this is against the law, but Daniel does not care of the legal law, and most certainly about the moral one)
