TOS Auto Repair has great auto repairs prices. The customer service was hands down great. While you wait you have nice coffee and treats and most of all a massage chair that will change your world and relax you. The remodel of the office is beautiful. Prices are comparable. Check them out.

Had my wifes 2019 Nissan Armada serviced by TOS. I had actually scheduled the appointment for my Genesis on Friday 03/29. My wife was meeting me there Thursday night to pick me up after the drop off. Unfortunately the traffic from work was taking too long for me to get there before they would close up shop. So since my wife could get there quicker we dropped her car, and I picked her up.Heres where the kudos come in! The guys waited for me to get there, and didnt leave my wife waiting alone in their parking lot for me to get there. Now that was highly appreciated! I’ve only worked with Nathan in the office, but the whole team is awesome!! I bought my used Toyota Highlander from Carmax and brought it in their shop for them to do a quick look over for the first time to make sure the car was worth buying. They did a great job, explained everything awesome customer service I can call them up at anytime with a problem and they don’t hesitate to tell me to stop by & they will take a look at my issue asap!! I will only trust them with my vehicle . I will only take my car to this shop great crew, mechanics!! Been going here for years. My mom has been going to them even longer.All the service advisors are friendly and knowledgeable. They make it a point to always communicate with you on the status of your vehicle throughout the work being done on it. The technicians are quick, fantastic, and never disappoint. If you’re on a budget they’ll help you make sure you get the most important work done on your car first within that budget. I’d recommend these guys to anyone with an Asian import in the Sac area.

TOS is the real deal. Best auto service Ive ever received. Extremely professional, informative and most of all they seem to really care about you and your vehicle. They do a full inspection of your vehicle and even provide pictures, comments and recommendations regarding the severity of the issues. They also provide a very generous warranty on their parts. Nathan is the man! Car works better than ever. They replaced the AC condenser a few months ago, starter this week. Very comfy waiting area and they will uber you to/from “X” if you need to go somewhere nearby to work. Prices are good too, will be back

I went in knowing I needed the belts replaced. All they had to do was go directly to belts and replace them. They may have had to make a decision as to whether the transitioner needed adjusted or replaced. They always charge $129 for a diagnostic. Then they say they will give your car a free health and safety check. Upon completion of health and safety my wipers, oil, breaks, alignment, pcv hose, 3rd rear light and more had been diagnosed. They then said they could fix everything for $2000. I had to ask them for the cost of each individual item. I dexlinedcall repaits except those twlated to my belts. Then they called me at home and tried again. I paid them for the belt replacement, whatever they did regarding the transitioner, and the $129 diagnostic for approximately $460. My main complaint is the double talk about the diagnostic. Maybe all auto repair companies do thatIDK

Very friendly staff, detailed, and they explained things thoroughly. We’re amazed by their organizational skills pertaining to the issues of the vehicle. The report they gave you it is very easy to understand for people who are not familiar with the job of a mechanic. We had issues with our 4Runner for a while. We went to Toyota two times and they cannot find the problem. They told us to buy a new car instead.🤣🤣🤣. We almost changed the transmission. There’s nothing wrong with the transmission. Luckily the transmission shop did not take our money and run. They gave us the recommendation to go to TOS. We called TOS took our 4Runner they found the issues in no time. Our 4Runner was ready before we knew it. Now we found TOS, we will never go back to TOYOTA! I would recommend TOS to all my friends and family. Thank you TOS! Andrew Patero

I just had service done on the fitting for my turn signal bulb socket ( wiring), TOS did the diagnostic on it, replaced it and finished it while I waited. David kept me informed abt the info from the technician. They have helped me in the past with other issues and did a great job. They are all very nice, professional and do a great job. My future service needs on my Toyota vehicles, I will be definitely returning to TOS.

Rick, one of the managers is the most honest & helpful person youre going to find in the industry if youre having car problems. I Found TOS to be Honest, Ethical, & caring of my situation. They will do anything they can to properly diagnose & fix your vehicle. This is place your dont have to worry about being lied to, manipulated, or ripped off.Evan thought they are a bit pricey, they are worth every penny. Rick was very responsive and helpful with my Camry hybrids 90,000 mile service. They cost hundreds less than what the dealership was charging. I had used the service department at the dealership for decades but they were charging so much and I couldnt ever talk to a service advisor on the phone when trying to make an appointment.Rick arranged Ubers to get me home and back to retrieve my car. The waiting area is clean and very nice, with snacks, tea, coffee and even a massage chair. I will be coming back!

Good communication and friendly, but charged me $741 (woah!) to remove a transmission pan, inspect the fluid, put the pan back on with a new filter and top back off the ATF. That’s crazy expensive! The work couldn’t have been more than a couple hours of labor for a qualified mechanic and not more $50 for the filter and fluid. They don’t seem to charge labor by the hour but instead use very high flat rates, as the work they did works out to be like $350/hr!

Called for an appointment and spoke with Nathan. He got me in the next day, helped with check in, called me to talk about the issues, and cashed us out. He is, by far, the best service tech I have ever dealt with. 100% hands down recommend coming here. They gave a full inspection to my Honda Pilot and gave photos, descriptions of the issues, and quotes for each thing. Handed to me all on a printout to take home. They werent pushy, and he even tried to talk us out of service originally because the issue wasnt presenting at the time of our visit. As long as I live in the area, and Nathan works there, I will be coming back.

Amazing service. This company does a full inspection of your vehicle at no additional charge when you bring your vehicle in for service. The report provided is nothing short of amazing. Includes color photos of area of weakness on your vehicle with descriptions of the repairs recommended. It is not an up sale attempt just an advisory to you of your vehicles well being. We take all of our cars to TOS Auto Repair and they do a great job explaining all the recommended repairs and why. They will email the recommended repairs and include photos and videos that explain what the parts do, how they break down, how they fix it, and why its important to do so. Their prices are reasonable and they wont pressure you to do all the repairs at once. TOS is the place to take your vehicle for honest, fair and most importantly top notch repair services from true professionals. I’ve been around a while and been driving for about 40 years. I’ve had many good and bad mechanics and repair shops I have done business with. TOS is definitely one of the good ones (very good). I will continue to do business with them for all of my vehicles. Oh and one of the service was fixing a head on my wife’s Prius that blew. Very responsible price and excellent work. It’s a drive for me but in my opinion it’s worth it to get top notch service. I have been taking my vehicles there for a few years now and they have never failed to provide excellent service.Most recent experience involved an exhaust noise that was a bear to track down. Gary and his techs worked extra hard to resolve the issue and found all of the exhaust leaks and got me back up and running.I appreciate the time and attention to detail that they take to ensure all vehicles leave their shop working properly. I thought my auto theft system was on the blink as my car was not starting sometimes while I was sitting in the car and could not get in the car via touching the handle of my car and key fob was not working either. Rick said let’s try the least expensive way and replace your battery on the key fob. Well, that solved all my problems. I wanted to pay for the batteries (both key fobs were not working) but Rick insisted NO. Professional and honest place! Hard to find these days.

I scheduled an appointment over the phone a week in advance to leave my car there all day. We showed up at our appointment time and the man at the front desk informed us they had cancelled all scheduled appointments for the day. We received no communication or warning beforehand to let us know that they would be canceling appointments. The man was rude and unapologetic. We asked why the appointments were cancelled and he bluntly stated look how many cars are in the garage. He did not offer to schedule another appointment or any other solutions. Our time and money will be better spent elsewhere.

This is the best auto shop I have ever been too! They are very professional, knowledgeable, and honest. Staff is friendly and Gary the manager took good care of me and my baby. I am so grateful to have stumbled across them on Google. They even have financing and I was able to get my car out without paying a dime and have 12 months to pay it off before any interest.But most importantly they ensured that my baby was back up and running like it was before I had that transmission scare. I took my Hyundai there to repair a defective door switch.. At the time they also replaced a cracked in the windshield washer motor.. The dealership stated it would be 6 weeks to 3 months to get it in to them.. I took it to TOS in about 4 days.. I have an extended warranty on the car.. Nathan contacted the warranty co. & the items were covered.. Nathan went above & beyond to get the items replaced at no cost to me.. I also had them repair a couple other things that needed, that I paid for.. Very courteous & friendly staff.. Consider TOS if you need repairs & you are under warranty.. Ive been using TOS as my go-to mechanics for years now. The reason is I trust these guys. They are upfront with their rates, which are a bit more than other shops or dealerships. Then they perform the analysis and repair they already told you was probable. You dont get a lot of bait and switch. Yes they will tell you about other issues they may find, and tell you the pros and cons of fixing it now or waiting.Theyre extremely knowledgeable and operate with integrity. Example: I took my GFs SUV to their shop. She had a blinking check engine light. Clearly she had major engine issues. I pulled the codes before I took her car there, so I knew it was throwing rod codes. The guys are so knowledgeable they knew about a recall for that specific engine that other customers they had in the past had used. So they called a local dealership and checked on the recall status. Sure enough it was under recall. We had it towed to the dealership and had the engine replaced free of charge. TOS didnt have to do that. They could have replaced the engine for significant profit. Instead they only got a diagnostic fee. But dealing us honest and fair is why I go to these guys. Impeccable service and, most importantly, integrity. Something you dont see much of anymore.10/10 Will use their service again. Please dont ever close! lol

I went to TOS for transmission issues, which are always scary and typically expensive.And the experience I had was amazing.Gary went above and beyond what was expected. He did everything possible to get the issue resolved at the lowest cost.I did have to get a new transmission put it and Gary did everything he could to deal with the warranty company I have for my vehicle.We talked multiple times a week while my car was there and he kept me in the loop for the entire process.I developed a great relationship with Gary and also had multiple conversations with Rick and other employees and all of them were very helpful and made sure I was taken care of.I would give TOS 10 stars if I could. He gave me the most comprehensive assessment of my vehicles condition I have ever received. My first experience with TOS! From my initial contact with Rick to my appointment with Greg, very friendly and welcoming! Engine light check and overall assessment of an inherited Lexus. Lots of work needs to be done but i was not pressured into doing it all at once. I was very overwhelmed but Greg assured me that we can do repairs as i am able. That really put me at ease! I recently discovered TOS when I had to take my 2004 4Runner in. I found all staff professional, polite, and honest and trustworthy (which is hard in this line of business)I have since sold the 2004, and bought a 2018. I recently called TOS about an oil change and some minor issues. They couldn’t get my car into the shop that day, but offered to come pickup my car from me the next day, do the work, and return the car back to me. It was super hassle free and amazing customer service. They now have a lifelong customer in me. Highly recommended and I never do reviews, but the staff at TOS deserve it.

The fellas over at TOS did great work on my car! I had recently gotten an older 4runner from a family member and brought it in for their *thorough* inspection. They found a handfu of miscellaneous leaks, maintenance things that were due to be sealt with, and minor problems that they were then able fix for me without a problem. They communicated very well throughout the whole process, were very nice and enjoyable to work with, and never came across as though they were forcing needless services on me. When I got it back one of them (I believe rick) had even given my car a light wash for me so it looked sparkley and new.When I drove it for the first time, it felt like a whole new car! Also, they missed a burned out running light. Was going to get me a quote on the pricing of a replacement. Never happened. I am glad to know what checked out ok and what needs to be done. I cant quite feel good about their high rates and the way they left my car.

I recently purchased a brand used 2007 FJ Cruiser with 147k miles and wanted to do a post purchase inspection for said vehicle. There was a road noise at low speeds I could not figure out. As it turned out, the FJ needed a wheel bearing replacement and there were metal shavings found in the rack and pinion. Daniel did a good job of keeping me in the loop and Im happy with the work. Apparently the owner removes bad reviews. Last year I had them do work on my Toyota Tundra. One of the mechanics smashed the roof of my truck against the ceiling. Today as I was at a different shop to get my suspension done it was noted that TOS failed to correctly reassemble my front suspension. I used TOS many years ago for my Toyota truck and always had excellent service. So when I need to resolve some issues with my 2000 Avalon I brought it to them. They diagnosed the issue and a few others which the dealer and another independent shop had missed. I should have come here in the first place. This is very important because of the age and number of miles on the car expensive repairs would not be worth it. They gave me all the info and options available to me. I ultimately decide not to repair the Avalon but because of all the information TOS gave me it helped me make the right decision for my circumstances. Honesty and trust go a long way in the automotive repair business and TOS is honest and trustworthy. Looking for a Hybrid Auto Repair business is difficult, especially when you have a Lexus Hybrid. I am SO GRATEFUL, I placed my trust in TOS. From the first conversation with Rick, he listened and responded to my frustration of ownership of having a Hybrid vehicle, with care and understanding. When the first call came back of what I was faced with, they were able to work within the range of affordability (with a hybrid battery and inverter, you are looking at $15,000.00! New! I have a 2010 RX450H). What happened next, I can only say is something that I invite any and all companies and auto repair businesses to take notice. Due to the expert hybrid technician at TOS, he was able to detect a flaw in the placement of the hybrid battery that I purchased a year ago. TOS contacted the company and had them inspect their product. With great integrity from Greentec Auto, they replaced the battery (that was under warranty) of which caused the inverter to no longer function and the (oem) inverter. Integrity is something rare that you find in todays business model, a model that has brought down Americas business standards. Integrity is what brings America to its greatness! I witnessed it that day. From my experience with TOS Auto Repair, I am truly thankful for Rick, Michael, Mitch, and the whole team for the wonderful partnership and work they did to help get my life moving again.

I initially went to T.O.S. upon the recommendation of CarMax and now I dont go anywhere else. They do a fantastic job of working with my schedule and fitting me in. I bought a used sienna with 119k and wanted spark plugs replaced and fuel injectors cleaned. They did that and a complimentary inspection of entire vehicle. These guys are the real deal! I cant believe how accommodating they are. I had major engine issues and thought for sure I needed a replacement, big job! But then Gary to the rescue...instead of selling me on the engine, he recommended I check on a recall for the engine, and sure enough, it was on recall. Very knowledgeable group of guys who were extremely polite and accommodating from the moment they picked up the phone. Very clean and comfortable waiting area with snacks and coffee. They took my inspection booking with just a days notice and did an outstanding job answering all my questions and providing a balanced and detailed digital inspection report with photos and videos. I was buying a car from out of the area so did not have the time of tools to perform a detailed inspection myself, I was able to share the report instantly with my regular mechanic and receive estimates on the items they recommended replacing. This allowed me to better negotiate with the seller on price and so the inspection paid for itself at $200 it was money well spent when you are buying a car that could potentially cost thousands in repairs if you are not informed on what you are looking at. This was truly an independent and unbiased inspection that put no pressure on me to return and perform the maintenance at their shop but if I lived in sac they would certainly be my first point of call. Other shops may be cheaper for this type of work but they will most certainly not do as thorough job or detail their findings like TOS, I have had cheap inspections done before and it appears to be simply a gateway to getting a little it of expensive often unnecessary repairs dont at the shop.

The people at T.O.S are very professional in every way. I took my van in to get, what I was told by another mechanic, my engine repaired for a blown headgasket. They told me it was not the headgasket but a couple of valves that allowed the coolant to get blown out causing the engine to overheat. I recently brought my car in because it wasn’t starting. I got it towed by AAA and they are a AAA site so you automatically get a discount with that. I spoke to Gary about the issue and I was having and informed him that I have brought my car here before. However my interaction with Gary was not pleasant because it felt like he was just trying to make a quick buck by trying to sell me stuff that I already had done to the car. Even stuff that I had done there within less than a year of service, I told him it was already done and he had to look in my file to see that it was done. However, he was trying to say that it was looking old and needed replacement. In addition, when I was checking out to pay, he didn’t add the AAA discount or ask me if I was even a member even though when I spoke to him I informed him I am having AAA dropping the car off since the car. Rick and the team were very detailed and explaining everything I needed to know about my vehicle I just purchased. I also had an issue with my oil pan where the threading where the nut goes was starting to strip. I witnessed the mechanic make multiple attempts to thread it back in there so that I can worry about it on my next oil change. Of course I know that it will need to be done when my next oil change is due but the fact that he attempted to rethread it instead of saying you need to buy a new oil pan told me that they go above and beyond to satisfy their customers. I was about to start my car and head off to work this morning when my engine started making weird noises and wouldnt start. I called TOS for the first time and spoke with Gary who could have easily taken the car in to the shop, but instead he called Hyundai for me and told me that my car was still under factory warranty. Finding professional people who solely care about helping others is rare, and im glad to have talked to Gary this morning. I know in the future I will come back to TOS with any auto problems.

On my 1998 lexus gs 300, the gear shift was stuck in Park and I needed to use a screwdriver to bypass the safety mechanism and shift gear. Local toyota dealer was unable to give me the exact diagnosis after one hour of labor and wanted me to give them open permission to spend as many hours as needed to diagnose it, something I wasnt willing to do because of the age of my car. My awesome regular mechanic also spent a fair amount of time without success. As a last try, I took it to TOS and they were able to diagnose it precisely for 130 dollars and gave me an exact estimate to fix it. Rick was extremely courteous and professional. Very satisfied.

TOS Auto Repair is the best! Our 25 year old car couldnt pass the smog visual inspection because of an aftermarket air intake. Gary at TOS worked diligently for over a month to find replacement parts that would pass the smog inspection requirements. Gary worked tirelessly with his supply sources and the State of California Bureau of Automotive Repair parts locator service to find replacement parts. When it was finally determined that the parts were not available, Gary was able to get a smog waiver which allows us to drive the car again. After all the effort Gary put into getting the waiver, there was NO CHARGE for his services. We cant thank Gary and TOS Auto Repair enough for their help. If you need any kind of car maintenance/service done or have a hard-to-fix car problem, give them a try! You wont be disappointed.

Initially Called to get a estimate on Radiator replacement on my 96 Acura Rl that another shop recommended. Spoke with Nathan he recomended a diagnostic as a courtesy stating it sounded like they maybe miss diagnosed my car. Came 2 times to have car checked Rick assisted and broke everything down for me... Its very helpful to see exactly what work needs to be done with pictures to be sure a mechanic is not just saying anything. TOS is very reliable and honest everyones helpful including the Shuttle drivers. They offer great discounts month to month which differ. Great Customer service and Inspection, Rick was was very helpful and realistic about my car with me. I just called to get some estimates of the wprk needed and Rick emailed that paper work to me ASAP. I think I found a new mechanical shop to trust in. Thanks Guys your definetly A1!👌

My experience was good. I had a new engine put in my 1993 Toyota pickup by another company and for some reason it was sluggish and lacked power at takeoff. The smog shop was able to smog it after $1200 of tinkering around but couldn’t figure out why it lacked take off power. TOS figured it out. Evidently fuel air hoses were hooked up incorrectly and the timing was slightly off. So the truck has great take off power now.But I have several questions; why does it still sometimes not want to idle after I’ve driven around for a half hour or so? It seems like after it warms up from driving across town, then I shut off the engine to go to a store, when I start it back up it doesn’t idle at all. But after 3 or 4 stop lights it will start to barely idle again.The smog shop changed the “Coolant Temperature Sensor”. But they said the new one must be faulty because the reading was worse than the old one. The truck still has the new sensor. I asked TOS to check the sensor to see if it is indeed faulty. My questions are “was it checked” and “ could this be why I’m having a problem with idling?”My final question is ; what is the purpose of the hose with the bolt stuck in the tip?I would appreciate a response on these questions ASAP.In conclusion; my overall experience as to the main issue “Lack of takeoff power” has been resolved. When you give it gas it gets up & goes without hesitation. Not wanting to idle after driving a while—still a matter of concern.

I went I to T.O.S to get a diagnostic for my transmission and instead they told me it wasn’t possible to do so because they couldn’t get the car to start. However, I have a stick shift and when the trans or clutch go out it puts the engine into a safety mode so you don’t attempt to drive or ruin the engine. Yet they simply said it wasn’t possible to do anything for it because they didn’t know how. I wouldn’t go back here if anyone paid me. They still charged me for a complete diagnostic for the car even though it had nothing to do with the problem I had asked them to assist me with.

Been having a hesitation/stutter mostly at low speeds. Took my land cruiser here for a diagnostic. They found a lot of things I needed to address which was helpful. But told me there was no sign of hesitation/stuttering or any drivability issues. It was doing it every time I drove it and was pretty obvious. Soon as I drove away it did it. Felt a little frustrated that they may have not test driven it enough.Turned out to be a bad spark plug wires. Felt like for $150 this should have been diagnosed.

The staff is very professional. I have taken the care there only a couple times. My most recent experience was pretty bad after there inspection they said my drum brakes were down to 1mm and needed replacement. They were only install 4k prior to that visit and still looked brand new. They said the drive belts were cracked and in bad shape and needed replacement, that was not the case there was no cracking at all there was a few other things that did need replacing that they spotted as well. GET A SECOND OPINION ON ALL WORK THEY SUGGEST. In my mind they are NOT trust worthy, and there prices are higher than most places.

I recently came in for a 2010 Toyota Prius for an inspection about my brakes and noise. When I came in Rick (the advisor) told me what TOS is and what they are going to do and he told me the inspection is going to be free. When they took my car in I told them Roseville Toyota recommened to change tires and brakes. They told me that my brakes and tires are totally fine just my brakes might need a change soon. Also they fixed my rattling noise during the inspection for free which Roseville Toyota would have charged me and I know they couldn’t even find it. I appreciate Rick and Mike the technician!
