My experience with Martin Caraves was outstanding, the professionalism was on point, kept me up to date with everything that was going on with my case. The confidence they have makes you feel at ease. I was given 7 different charges and the DA’s most definitely overcharged the case and he was able to get 5 out of the 7 charges dropped. They also was able to show that the DA’s evidence was weak and that the witnesses weren’t reliable. The strategies that they plan are unbelievable, you can see that they’ve spent hours looking into all the details from the case ranging from the smaller detail all the way up to the major detail. My husband hired Martin Caraves after receiving a letter for a potential hit and run. His car registration had been placed on hold by the police department and dmv. Martin immediately took action and took the hold off. He went above and beyond and communicated with insurance and the police department. Not only does he speak both English and Spanish, but he was accommodating in getting my domestic violence case dropped entirely. Mental health therapy is truly important. If you are a young woman or man, who doesn’t know about Attachment Styles or creating healthy boundaries, please seek help. If you are a child of parent who abused alcohol when you were younger or suffered any emotional abuse please get a therapist as soon as you can. What most people are dealing with internally is trauma and many respond in different ways.I will share my story and some of the pitfalls you should avoid.1.) Do not speak to the police. Say explicitly I want to talk to my attorney. If you are HISPANIC/LATINO, you most likely are afraid and haven’t committed a crime in your life. Do not interview anyone in San Mateo Police Department without an attorney. Do not speak over the phone without an attorney present. Plead the fifth and please callMr. Caraves ASAP. DO NOT SPEAK without an ATTORNEY.2.) Mr. Caraves is a stand up guy. Those 5-Star reviews you see here on GOOGLE they are truly truthful. I wouldn’t be writing and taking my time to type this if it weren’t the case. He and I went to Redwood City Court over a span of almost 9 months!!! Going to arraignment time and time again. Getting our date pushed back over and over again. Demonstrating to the court that you indeed are honest and you are trying to do things the right way.3.) Martín Caraves is hands down the best at what he does. He is not only an amazing attorney but an honest, caring and down to earth person. I got into some big trouble at the age of only 19, I was facing about 3 felonies associated with unregistered firearms and a couple of misdemeanors for reckless driving. After what had happened to me I thought there was no coming back for me. I did some research on a lot of attorneys and Martin had the best comments/reviews out of everyone else and they are all well deserved. Im so thankful for Torres and caravez law. As soon as I made the call they started working on my brothers case. Right away Martin Caraves worked with my brother case understanding not only his work schedule but also personal life, because we had a big family reunion in Mexico in the following week and not only did Martin go to court in my brothers place but also made sure he was clear to travel out of the country. My brother went to the reunion with no issues and returned with no issues. Martin continued going to court for him and kept working hard on this case until he got it dismissed. I want to start by saying that my case never went through with this law firm, although I was going to proceed all the way with obtaining their services. I originally had a consultation for this coming Monday which is September 11 with Xochitl for $465 per hour. Who is Roseanne’s partner she does the restraining order cases which is what I’m dealing with right now. Roseann did offer a complementary 20 minute call which went a little unpleasant. She wouldn’t let my husband talk or explain anything. She kept on talking over his voice, and being pretty aggressive, questioning my husband, and talking to him, as if he was the one taking the stand in the court room being questioned. I let it slide because Martin Caravez is the one that referred me to her and he has really great reviews and told me she was great along with her partner Xotchil. I was hesitant because I wanted to hire Roseann, but she didn’t have any availability. and said her partner Xotchil was taking all of her cases because she was busy and fully booked. So it went from one referral, which was Martin to Roseanne and another referral from Roseanne to Xochitl. It wasn’t until the end of my car that I found out. I was not going to be able to hire her, but only her partner so I asked her if it was possible to get on a short phone is to get a feel for her before paying the $465 since we got a feel for her who she is but not her partner and she said that no because she already gave me 20 minutes for free and I’m not going to be able to get another 20 minutes for free With her partner. So basically, she gave us a take it or leave it attitude. I said that was fine and took her word for it that she would also be good And told her I would book her partner for one hour. We ended the call with her informing me her partner would follow up with me to schedule and go over the details. Xotchil reached out to me left me a voice mail the following day in Spanish to call her back which I did. I don’t speak Spanish very well she just assumed I was a Spanish speaker due to my last name. I called her a few times after she left me the voice mail, but her phone kept on going straight to voicemail. I texted her she replied the next day, with an automated text sent twice which was a Saturday Asking me to call her back which I did and again it went straight to voicemail and again I texted Xotchil letting her know I couldn’t get a hold of her. I kept on getting her voicemail still no luck. She never called me back or returned my text.. Then I texted Roseann on Saturday to let her know what was going on and I couldn’t get a hold of Xotchil to prepare myself for our Monday appointment. Well, Roseann never replied back either, so I just decided to look for another lawyer, which I found in Sacramento with more reviews and five stars as well so I just decided to go a different route . They might be really good at winning cases but also the communication needs to be a five star communication skill. Good luck to everyone else hiring this law firm. Hopefully no one has to go through what I went through things happen for a reason, and I feel that this was just not going to be a good fit for me to be dealing with this lack of communication. As I do expect outstanding customer service, when coming out of pocket thousands of dollars. Good business should equal good customer service to. Martin Caraves Really went above and beyond for me Martin put together a mitigation package before my first court date with accomplishments Degrees details about my personal life that really separated me from your average person being charged in the court system today.. He took two Felonies (Gun Charges)That I was originally charged with & got them dropped down to a single MISDEMEANOR with light court probation. The definition of a lawyer, Mr. Martin Caraves! I was devasted, felt alone, felt like the world was against me, completely lost. I have never needed a lawyer before, but Mr. Caraves captured my trust from the start.
