Very friendly and Great food. We enjoyed Snow Crab and Lobster. Salad and bread was very filling before dinner arrived. Enjoyed watching the waves from the ocean 🌊.

Food was excellent, enjoyed the blackened snapper and would definitely recommend the smoked salmon chowder as starter. Upstairs bar area was a real highlight; bartenders were welcoming and make a great Mai Tai.

Went for drinks midweek at this vintage Redondo institution, open since the 50s. Great vibes and you can tell this spot has a lot of dedicated regulars - that’s likely due to the really awesome service. Didn’t eat but would definitely go back for drinks! Highly recommended if you’re in the Redondo area and want to hit up a great spot with even greater views.

A South Bay Staple! I always get a Mai Tai w/Fish and Chips. Make sure you find a seat at the top rotunda for all the views.(Oh and Don’t forget your Free Mai Tai glass with a purchase of a Mai Tai)

Tonys On The Pier is my favorite restaurant in Redondo Beach. We go there for special occasions like our wedding anniversary. On Saturday around 5:30pm there was a thirty minute waiting time, so we walked around the pier and went back after thirty minutes. Our table was ready. The food is delicious there. My favorite dish is the combination charbroiled seafood skewer with rice pilaf and salad topped w small bay shrimps. Ask for the house dressing and extra house dressing on the side. My only concern is that most of the dishes went up in price to $30 - $35. The server and host as usual greeted us with a smile. They have a great bar with a giant firepi to keep you toasty! Dont know about their drinks bc Im allergic to alcohol. 🥴 While enjoying dinner and conversation, the view of the 🌊 and Pier from the table or booth is very relaxing. I always leave with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. We leave the restaurant absolutely stuffed and walk around the Pier (maybe get a 🍦🍩🍪🍰🍮🍭🍬🍫🧋) before we head home. When the sun goes down it can get chilly. Dress in layers. Plenty of cheap self pay parking.

Its a lovely outlook inside the restaurant, the service was good, but the food unfortunately was very subpar for the price. Before getting our food One of the utensils had a giant chunk of food dried out on it so we requested new ones that we both inspected just in case.Started out with their clam chowder which really just tasted like potato soup with clams thrown in it. Surprisingly their salmon chowder was much better tasting, and worth the try. My girlfriend has the shrimp&scallops with a side of rice pilaf. Scallops were overcooked, shrimps were over salted. We returned it and did not wish to order anything as a replacement for her. I had the lobster tail which was good, but the white pasta that I ordered as the side was very bland.Overall definitely a waste of time & money.

Funky old school pier atmosphere but I like it. Nice water view tables. Good mixed drinks and reasonable prices. Just had clam chowder and sirlion steak sandwich. Soup was tasty. Sandwich was nice but a had a little gristle. Nice flavor though and cooked to order. Onion rings were great. Not greasy at all. Served very hot and had a good crunch. Will come back for sure.

I asked where I should go for seafood. I was told more than once Tonys was an institution on the Redondo Pier.I got a table next to the window and a friendly sea gull stared at me while I ate my fish and chips.Staff was great...they make it a fun experience. Be sure to look up at the nets on the ceiling and see historical photos of the pier.

My parents introduced us to Tony`s back in the 1960`s. This restaurant holds wonderful memories. I am now almost 70 years old.My favorite items are the broiled and fried shrimp and scallops. They also prepare the most delicious salmon chowder. I highly recommend the latter.My only criticism is that they don`t offer baked potatoes as a side though they offer mixed vegetables that are a little bland, french fries, and linguini which is quite good.

The servers used to appreciate your business and did all to ensure you returned but this time I the impression customers would return no matter what. If this is the attitude, the high cost of eating out will cause customers to closely scrutinize where they spend their dollars.

Havent been to this place in years and was in the mood for a Mai Tai so Tonys it was. We went on a Wednesday night and sat up top at the bar where they have live music. Wasnt too crowded and the Mai Tais were as good as I remember. If you like a stronger Mai Tai get the Firehouse one. Overall a good place to watch the ocean, grab a drink listen to live music.

The food was not very good at all except the fries. They were very good. The sea bass was dripping with grease and tasted frozen but waitress said it was fresh. Salad had too much dressing for me but still good and the clam chowder wasn’t much better than canned. The upstairs was drinks and appetizers only but it was gorgeous and Kristy was great! Beautiful deep dark wood and amazing view of the sunset! Must must go back for drinks!

Literally my fav place in Redondo Beach. It has an older 70s vibe with the accompanying music. A throwback to friendlier and less pretentious times. This place should have been used in a scene in Pulp Fiction. Anyway... I really like the seafood here. My husband and I are here at least one wknd night. My favs are the apps. Ceasar salad w/ or w/out anchovies, the calamari, the oysters, and the crab cakes. The portions are american sized, so we have never ordered dinner plates but Im sure theyre decent. This place is super affordable, very charming casual place to kick back, see some waves crash and have some nibbles. The service is very attentive and friendly and down home as you would expect from an old school fishhouse. Thank you Tonys for the wonderful nights, food, and service. ❤️

We also got a Mango Margarita in Honor of Jimmy Buffett, RIP 🕊️ The Calamari Appetizer, Salad & Clam Chowder were all tasty like we remembered!! 😋 The seafood selections are great. Everyone enjoyed their food. From Salmon, to Seafood Scampi & Linguine, to Seafood Alfredo & Stuffed Shrimp! The service was fantastic. From the waitresses to the busboys filling your water glasses. Good food - good service, nice location. Negative:?? I have visited twice recently, and the drinks are very weak. I would not bother getting any of the alcoholic drinks. The second time I was there I again mentioned how weak the drink was. I was thirsty, so I drink more than half of it because that’s usually what I do and then I can tell if there’s much alcohol in it at all. Well, I drank the whole thing, and there was no reaction at all. When I mentioned it to the manager, he was not happy and said well why did you drink it. He asked me what I wanted and I said well take it off the bill if you can’t make a better drink. One thing the management there needs to learn is that the. customer is always right and you have to respect what they say. This happened the last time we were there also. That time I said nothing. Again, our waiter was very sweet and the food was good. The management argued with me about my drink and that is what I did not appreciate.

My grandson and I love this place. It is right on the Redondo Beach Pier and you can get a seat with a beautiful view.The service is amazing. We had the nicest server. He was so kind to my grandson and helped him with the menu. He just was ever so nice to him and Buddy loved talking to him, which he does not tend to do, he is very shy. This server simply went above and beyond.Parking is in the lot for the pier and it is for a fee, but it is fine and not too far a walk.The food is just great. This is not new style sea food. This is traditional seafood and it is all great. Their salads are the best. If you get one, have them had shrimp, they are generous with it and it makes the salad perfect. Their soups are the best. We favor the clam chowder. All of their appetizers are wonderful. We had a combination of fried shrimp and calamari. It was not tough or too fried, it was just perfect. We loved the alfredo pasta with shrimp and clams. All of their fresh fish is grilled so nicely. Desert is the best. You can have a wide variety of items. We prefer the chocolate cake, and the ice cream.We just love this place. So will you.

Really cool spot overlooking the ocean. Food was quite mediocre but hey, location... We had oysters on the half shell which were fine. A burger that was ok at best. It was overcooked and the sweet potato fries(extra charge) were completely soft and not very good. Honesty if this place hired/paid a cook that really cared about making some quality basic foods this place would be a home run. But for now its a cool place to visit before going to a nice restaurant for dinner.

This place is classic Old School. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere pristine. Ive always gotten my moneys worth. The staff was fantastic and the restaurant has that 70s feel. The view is breathtaking. The prices are great. Every meal comes with soup and salad, baked potato or rice. The portion sizes are large. I took my family with me and none of us finished our meals. Food was pretty good but the service was horrible. It took almost an hour to get salads and another 30 minutes for entrees and it was a major struggle to get the check. We asked 3 different people for the check and the waiter disappeared for most of the service and when we finally got the check he gave it to our group all in one instead of separate which we asked for. The atmosphere was also horrible from the beginning with the staff judging us any chance they could get. Overall it was a very bad experience and would not recommend at all.

Not go again / price = ~$15+ / service = above average / cleanliness = average / management = below averageOrdered the famous Tonys cheese garlic bread, oysters half shell, salmon and clam chowder, seafood combo all totaling around ~$66+. None are quite worth it. First, as I waited for a table, the greeting was terrible. In who seems to be the owner or manager (blonde Caucasian lady), there was a very unwelcome vibe I was given when taking my name for seating and whenever I asked the time to sit. Following that was the average to below average taste of the food. For a restaurant that seems to have been established since 1952 and a popular place to go, the food tasted like it never changed from the old days. From the oysters to the chowders and the main dish of a seafood combo, the recipes tasted as old as the establishment. There are much improvements needed throughout the menu. The clam chowder is one of the worst I ever hadm tastes like sludge. Although it comes with the main dish, the salad was such a poor excuse of a supplementary salad. I can make better with quality ingredients in 5 sec. Literally, it was just dead lettuce, croutons, and balsamic vinaigrette. Poor for even the most basic dinner salads. The cheese bread is nothing special. Same in being less than average. The oysters half shell is highly not recommended. Maybe because it is off-season but not having it on menu is more ideal. The final main dish of a seafood combo was nothing particular as well. I can make far better at home in a short time. Only reason for 2 stars vs 1 is because of the good service.Otherwise, the parking is ample based on the lots at the pier. The interior was cool and gave a classic beach restaurant vibe. Situated in the heart of the pier, the views are amazing and the open windows brings in all the fresh Redondo Beach air.

Although the food at this establishment is good, it is not nearly good enough to compensate for the service that comes along with it. From the jump the hostess is being rude to table my party, then once our party is all seated we order our food; it took 40 minutes to get our soup and salads, something that should be quite on hand since it is the starter of the meal. Once we got those starters, it took 30 MORE minutes to get our entrees, which at that point we did not have THAT much time left and asked for the checks, individuals. We continued eating and the checks still hadn’t been given to us, so yet again we asked to get the check and again no checks were given to us. We vocalized the check problem like 3 more times, and finally the check arrived; however, they gave us a total check after specifying that we were individual. So after more than an hour and 40 minutes, most of which was strictly waiting, and a hassle to attain checks, we were finally able to leave the establishment.

Atmosphere is great, watching th seals swim around and play. Our server, Laura, was fantastic- super friendly and anticipated what we might want. Drinks were ok. We had an old fashioned, whiskey sour and Mai Tai. I had the combo platter and my wife had the coconut shrimp. All were really tasty. I didnt love the cod, but I think it was prepared well. The Cajun popcorn shrimp is delicious. We waited about and hour on a Saturday, but were able to wait at the bar so no problem.

This place is amazing! My wife and I had dinner here, and we sat right next to the windows, so we had awesome views of the Pacific as we ate. We ordered the oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer, and they were easily the best I have ever had. I then ordered the Charbroiled seafood special, and everything on this plate was perfectly prepared. From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like VIPs. Victor, our server, was fantastic, taking the time to answer questions we had about the menu, and recommending dishes. The other gentleman (didnt get his name) who works there was diligent in clearing plates from the table as we finished them. Overall, excellent experience, and will return if we ever come back to LA.

This is a quaint and fun little restaurant on Redondi Pier. The surrounding area is so scenic. We were blessed to have the table with the fire pit in the middle near the entrance. Laura and her staff were amazing! I highly recommend the drink called the Fire Chief especially if youre a rum lover. The ambiance is laid back and incredibly warm! We didnt get a chance to have food, but I can assure you well be back!!

All I have to say is No. You would think the seafood would be the best if your at a seafood restaurant off the pier.. No! The calamari was the worst I ever had. The rings of calamari in my mouth felt like fried thin paper drenched in oil with a tasteless flour aftertaste. The combo seafood plate was the second worst runner up. Sorry to be so blunt but the scallops were undercooked on one side and didn’t fully cook since it was wrapped by the shrimp. The salmon had no seasoning.We were so excited about the clam chowder and salmon chowder but after one look we knew it was not going to be a winner. The clam chowder looked like a bowl of mashed potatoes and the salmon chowder lacked salmon and too much tomatoe paste for coloring. I really wished we had quality food with such a nice ocean view. Sorry but I will never step foot in this place again.

Honestly, I wanted Tonys to be a good restaurant. However, from my experience the food was pretty bad. Onion rings look like they were heated up in the microwave then served, and Fish and Chips was bland and had no seasoning. I had someone else try it and mirror what I said. Even the bread was chewy and felt like it was incorrectly made. The atmosphere also feels very dated in my opinion, and it feels like it is stuck in a different generation. I would suggest that you be careful and possibly find a different restaurant in the Rivera Village.

What an awesome hidden gym of a restaurant on the pier in Redondo Beach. They have a vast seafood menu and a cool vibe. Circa 1970. Full bar for all your drink needs. So sad. I used to love this place! For the past w5 yeard I always stop in for their Mai Tais but these drinks seem to be getting weaker and weaker. I do not order them anymore. Ive also been dying to stop and have dinner there and finally did this past weekend. I ordered theyre carafe of house wine and the charbroiled fish shrimp and scallop dish. I dont think Ive ever had a wine that seem to be watered down but this one was pretty light. As for the dinner the fish tasted great but for $30 I think you get a little bit more. I had the vegetables with it which seemed to be frozen and warmed up in the microwave. I have to say goodbye to to Tonys I probably will not be back there again after 30 + years of visiting them so sad.

Ahi tuna came unsliced and unappetizing to the eyes, steak was ordered medium rare and came beyond medium, coconut shrimp were nothing more than tiny frozen shrimp I can buy at the grocery store, stuffed shrimp.....shrimp was nonexistent except for their tails, again tiny frozen shrimp WAY over stuffed with crab. Tony’s has to be one of the most fun bars I have stumbled across in a long time. We sat at the circular bar upstairs and chatted with the bartender and a few locals. The drinks are cheap, the views are fantastic and the ambiance and service is amazing. They played great 70s music, then around 6pm had a guitarist taking requests, with the crowd singing along. Happy hour is $1.50 off all drinks. We had the popcorn shrimp, which was deep fried and tasty, but nothing special. The decor is as if nothing has changed since 1952, and I hope it never does! If you’re in Redondo, you have to go to Tony’s.

Filing a complaint with the BBB due to my very unsafe experience here.Ill keep the story short, but I had a photo taken of me at the bar by a random creep and when I asked him if he took a photo of me, Manny and Eileen immediately started shushing me and telling me that I can cause problems, I shouldnt do that, last time someone did something like this there was a fight and 8 people were arrested, he was only taking a photo of his cocktail, Im in public and hes a perv so thats just what happens, and even more...Mind you, the guy ended up showing me the photo, admitted to it and reasoned with me by saying you are just hot, I couldnt help myself... he also ended up following us to 3 additional locations, our Uber pickup location and finding me on Instagram!The staff here had the opportunity to provide safety in a very clearly scary situation and they decided to avoid a problem by quieting me.Im not sure if the man was a regular and that is why he was defended, but his name was Oskar (according to his Instagram page he followed me from) and the staff was Eileen and Manny.

Heatwave in LA, record temperatures all across the basin. Perfect time to visit Tonys on the Pier! While not as cool as the beach is during hot weather, it was comfortable, actually perfect. Came with a friend I dated 30 years ago and came here. The place hasnt changed...creosote, seagulls, and Crab Legs! Oh the crab 🦀 legs! And this is no skimpy serving of crab...I was blown away and frankly amazed I finished them. When was the last time you could say that about an order of crab legs? This place is amazing. Located perfectly on the Redondo Beach pier. The views from inside are great. I came here as a party of three. We ordered three appetizers, crab cakes, shrimp and calimari. Then we each ordered a chowder. They have two kinds. Clam and smoked salmon. Was soooooooo good. This is a must go and a must take for friends and family.The portions are a little small for the appitizers. I would have liked more but the flavor and quality was supreme. Tony’s On the Pier is one of the best experiences at very reasonable prices. The food is always excellent. Pretty much all seating has an excellent view of the pier and water. The staff is always great. The fire chief drink is a must to try as well as their clam or salmon chowder. Meals are generous and most come with chowder and a salad and bread. My mother would tell me stories of how she would come here with my father in the 90s! The first time I went to Tonys was in the early 2010s and it was amazing then! The drinks were the best part of our meal. The dinner meal with a side, house salad, and soup was way too much food for an average person. All of the food was just ok. Review for bar upstairs: Cane here for the famous views and Mai Thais and neither disappointed. We ordered the charbroiled chicken sandwich, fish tacos and fried shrimp. All food was pretty good. The French fries share the same fryer as the fish so they had a slight fish taste which I didnt mind. The Mai Thai comes in a souvenir glass which you can take with you for free. The only problem I had was the slow service: no napkins or ketchup until we asked, same with the check. Well definitely go back eat downstairs in the dining room next time.

Dont be fooled by the charming exterior and panoramic ocean views. This place is a disaster. The upstairs tower bar is a sauna with no ventilation. Below is a restaurant manned by surly wait staff who are seemingly on a mission to make you feel as unhappy to be there as they are. Despite the restaurant being almost entirely empty, we were told we needed to order entrees or we would not be welcome. When we stated we intended to order drinks and appetizers the etiquette-challenged hostess directed us to a fire pit and said we could order drinks but not food. A waiter came over and said he would be with us shortly, but then walked over to the bar and stood there, making it abundantly clear that he had no intention of serving us. Its difficult to understand why fully grown adults would engage in this sort of juvenile Kabuki theatre but maybe its the only way they can pass the time in their joyless seaside purgatory.I wont be returning

Many thanks for many nice events socializing family dinners drinks beautiful view the smell of the ocean all packed in the one little place it looks the same as it did 20 years ago we do not go to often anymore but we do show up when we’re down at the pier this pier over the many years has been beat up pretty good by the weather in waves in the wind regardless open for business love to hear that the food is wonderful service is good drinks are great the atmosphere is well balanced it’s time to go back I have one glass at home with black writing from many years back I also have the glass with the green writing 50 years I think anniversary for Tonys regarding the pier it has been fully restored with some major changes of course it’s not what it used to be but still it’s the same pier we love it. we will be going again soon have some drinks eat some food and take some photos of the sun set the rocks everything around you when it got hit by the storm I actually was there we were planning a trip out of town and for those of you who know the area the pier very well we were actually eating at Pancho in Wongs. A Place that’s been missed for a long time now but we still have Tony’s and a few other little places that we like it’s fun either way. Take a moment stop in and enjoy yourself.

Tonys is definitely a reason to go to the pier. The seafood is beyond exceptional and the service is first class all the way. I never miss a chance to go when i am near Redondo.

Stopped for a quick drink and it was delightful. The antique decor mixed with the crashing waves was fantastic. Nice that some places are able to embrace history rather than always paving it over with sad excuses for modern design. Ill take old stained glass, steel, and wood over grey cement rectangles any day.

Linda was so rude. My husband sent his chicken parm. Back . The edges were hard and tasted yuck. She came to our table and made the statement of I cut into the middle of the chicken and it was fine, would you like me to bring it back. And as if we would after she had cut into it. Heath codes anyone!! I was beside myself. How rude!! Customer service should be everything!!! We werent asking for anything, he had only taken 2 bites of his food. It should have been can we get you something else.. sorry you were not happy with your food..

One of the best restaurants around. I had blackened red snapper. Delicious, others at our table were also very pleased, ciopino, smoked salmon, fish & chips, New York steak. All great,plus got to watch the waves crash. All very nice. Service was also outstanding.

Do not order blackened fish - the cook is a local boy whos obviously never been to Louisiana. My red snapper was Cajun seasoned but never even saw a hot skillet so it was beigened not blackened. It was still very tasty, just not what I ordered. Everything else was perfect! The wait staff were amazing and the ambiance was awesome!

Why doesnt this place have a solid 5.0 average review. I travel around the world, and I can honestly say, the food and service here is some of the best Ive ever experienced. And it is a surprise. Most of the restaurants on the pier have very low reviews.I ordered the fried calamari meal. The calamari was ultrafresh, lightly breaded just like the menu said, and seasoned to perfection. The fries were fresh and crispy.My meal came with a salad and a bowl of salmon chowder. The salmon chowder was out of this world. Chunks of salmon, and a very flavorful bisque.And the salad with blue cheese salad dressing was perfect. The blue cheese tasted homemade.When I walked in the restaurant I was greeted by a very kind and friendly hostess. On the way out, she was even better.This lovely woman seated me right at the end of the dining room where I had a beautiful view of the sunset.Then there was the sticker shock at the end. But this it wasnt your typical sticker shock. My huge meal came in under $31. I know we dont normally post prices on Yelp, but this meal in my home city of San Francisco would have been $85 at the very least.Having traveled to Los Angeles and Long Beach countless times, somehow Ive never been to the pier in Redondo Beach. Ill be back here for sure.

Not sure what happened over the years but this place was a hugeeee disappointment. The filet tasted like old meat and the lobster tail was literally the worst Ive had in my entire life. I could only take a single bite before feeling like I was going to be sick. The clam chowder and Caesar salad was great... but the main course was disgusting. The waitress was rude and destroyed the whole evening. I started coming here in 2007 and I will never be back.

Food was fine. Not great, but pretty good. Salmon chowder was good. Crab cakes were also good.Drinks were good. You get a free glass with the Mai Tai. That was cool.Atmosphere was great. Cool building, on the water. Dimly lit. Clearly had some history going on there.Service was really good too. We sat both upstairs & down, & in both instances the servers were good. Downstairs server was pretty cute & kind.Upstairs bartender seemed like a seasoned pro.Enjoyed it. Recommended.

This restaurant has always been a huge staple in my childhood. It saddens me that the quality of service and food has decreased over the years. The food is unbearably bland and greasy. Certain staff members are slow and rude. I dined with my family today, and our waitress—a blonde, white woman—gave us horrible service. She just tossed things onto our table, hardly checked in with us, and took forever to provide us with service. My family and I have loved going to Old Tony’s, but the low quality of food and service is not worth the massive expense.

THE WORST EVER. Just left here. We live in Texas but originally from Louisiana. OUR food is great!! We had salmon soup (horrible), salads (not fresh at all- old), blackened snapper (horrible), shrimp and crab legs (very bland). They should secure a top chef to revamp the dishes and train staff. Nothing was good but staffs greeting and attitude. Please fix this.

This was a highlight of our recent LA trip. The service was excellent, views of the ocean in the evening were unbeatable, and the food is actually quite affordable for LA. Our server was amazing - he brought us out some extra foods to try free of charge. The food wasnt 5-star restaurant quality, but its definitely good. Such a fun experience - well definitely be back on our next trip.

Went for a birthday. there only one bartender there named Rick or Ricky... phenomenal service! One guy serving at least 18 people and it felt like you were the only one there. Such a professional and great person. The drinks were the best Mai Tai Ive had in 53 years of drinking. The atmosphere to match!!! KUDOS all around

The crab cakes were the best I’ve had since San Francisco. I normally don’t like crab cakes, however I would eat these any day. The coconut shrimp was 4 out of 5. They weren’t very big. They definitely had a good coconut flavor. The dipping sauce was just ok. Outback has a better sauce unfortunately. My red snapper was just a 4 out of a 5. It needed seasoning and the vegetables needed seasoning. It was oily, so much so that it poured out of the to-go container and made a mess on the other containers. I don’t like my fish dripping with oil and with little to no seasoning. For the price I would expect it to be more on point. The view was lovely. The only complaint I have is that my shoes that are relatively new were sticking to the carpet. That grossed me out. Needs a serious steam clean or better yet, replace it. This is why I gave it 4 stars. Honestly, I would give it 3.5. That carpet really disgusts me.

Very iconic location on the Rodondo beach pier. Definitely reminds you of a past generation. Incredible views from the upstairs. Quick service and the bartender upstairs gave us alot of information about local places to go. I asked him for a recommendation for another place like Old Tonys and he said there is nothing else around here quite like Old Tonys. very true. Great place to watch sunset.

This place appears to be a tourist trap, and I struggle to understand the excitement surrounding it. The food portions are rather small and theres nothing particularly remarkable about them. Additionally, the prices seem to be above average. The establishment itself is quite antiquated, and it gives off a feeling that it could use some upkeep. We arrived with high expectations and left feeling disappointed.

I came here for dinner and got the NY steak and lobster tail combo. The steak knife was so dull you could barely cut through the steak. The steak lacked season for sure because I had to ask for A1 sauce. The lobster tail was so rubbery and had no flavor. Dipping it into the butter didnt help. Id probably never eat here again. The only thing that gave this place 2 stars is the views.

12/10 experience, came here on a whim not only do you really get your moneys worth but the food and the service were phenomenal from the hostess to the waitress (we had Taylor) and the bussing staff who help clean the table up. Cannot recommend enough!!!
