Made an appointment to get a tire patch. I picked up a screw right in the top of the tire. Made the appointment late in the day because my son was really excited to watch them change it. Received a call from the tech to discuss my appointment and he asked me if I was a tire expert. When I told him no he proceeded to tell me it may not be patchable and that I would likely need a new set of tires if that were the case because I would want the tread to match. It almost felt like he was trying to talk me out of coming down. I cancelled my appointment and went to Les Schwab on Contra Costa and the service was phenomenal. They patched the dang thing for free! Apparently they do free tire patches and still provide top notch customer service

This was the most awkward customer service I’ve experienced. I’m a technician myself as well as being in sales, so I get the industry. But the sales person helping me with tires was very unprofessional. First he told me the tire i special ordered were not good tires and should have gotten better ones . Which set off a red flag because come to find out what was actually ordered was not what I requested. All the bays were empty and told it was going to take all day…😒. Meanwhile the guy was talking for 20 mins about his car and how he would not have bought my truck where I bought it . Then he said the tires I was really wanted would be 2,000+ dollars plus a deposit from the tires that was ordered even though I asked if need payment before when I ordered them.But a lady also walked up saying she needed air in her tire due to a lack of air from a previous install of new tire. ( she was elderly ) even though the bays were empty he said “you have two options” raising his voice “ you can leave your care here or make a appointment “ and she just walked off very upset.I don’t leave bad reviews but I felt a need for this one. I went out of my way to support local the guy said he would call me back but never heard a thing from him since. So I found a place that did it In 45 mins since I had my kid with me and didn’t have to play the up sales game. Honesty keeps people coming back as well as customer service. Hopefully things can be turned around.

My wife took her jeep there today for an engine light and power stirring wheel noise. We went to this location before for our car issues with no problem but the last two times no Dave there and all different people all the time. the manager today told her he read the history (new tires a water pump change and some lights before) and told her that her car is a money pit! Suggested me to go to YouTube and change her light and that he wont take responsibility for any work done in the past but thats was not even the reason we were there for. Kept ignoring her and talking to me for her car and when she tried to explain her car issues he turned to me and said your wife is one of those that does not stop talking right? She drove off! He lost two customers and he was lucky she did not run him over with the jeep. Avoid this location has gone down. Shame they used to be good.

I used to absolutely love this place. But unfortunately their customer service has gone downhill since my last visit. I had gotten a patch done on a flat tire and the very next day the tire was flat again. I got it patched at 530p and it was flat at 3a when I went to go to work. I only drove the vehicle 3 mins home from the shop the prior day. I brought my vehicle back and they fixed it no problem, cool. The service tech came up gave me my keys and said I was good to go. I even asked if I needed to be checked out or anything like that and he said no youre good to go. 20 minutes after driving my vehicle my light came on to check my tire pressure. When I called back later I spoke to Jose the manager of the store. He was extremely rude and kept cutting me off when I was trying to explain to him the situation with my tire the past two days. I did make a point to tell him I didnt appreciate the way he was speaking to me and how he was coming off very rude and I wasnt able to even get a word in. He then proceeded to tell me to just bring the vehicle in and we can discuss this later. He also made a point to tell me that I left without paying earlier, I tried to explain to him the technician told me I was good to go and there was nothing further needed but he still cut me off and wouldnt let me speak. I assumed that since I was there less the 24 hours prior that they may have missed something, fixed it and I didnt need to be charged, I would have been happy to pay had I been told the proper information when I was there. This is such a downgrade in service compared to 2 months ago when I had the wonderful experience working with Matt. Matt was extremely helpful, very thorough, answered all of my questions, and maybe feel like a valued customer. Which is what anyone working in customer service should do. This time around working with Jose, the new manager, he was extremely disrespectful, rude, seemed annoyed and cuts people off. Due to this negative experience I will not be using their services any further nor recommending them to anybody else.

The decline in customer service from what used to be excellent is disappointing...Having been a regular customer for oil changes and brake services here. I recently found out there is a discount oil change service offered through CarAdvise. I made an appointment through CarAdvise and arrived at the shop with confirmation. However, the front desk employee seemed annoyed when I mentioned the discount rate, claiming he had never heard of it despite working there for years. I understand it might be a new thing for them and can be confusing, it would be appreciated if he can help figure this out together. He then called the manager and the manager confirmed the partnership, however, his attitude remained unhelpful and rude. He look annoyed and said it is a headache to assist me, making me feel it was my fault. I did him a favor and left so he didnt have to deal with all those headaches.

Terrific customer service! Dave is so personable, friendly, and welcoming. He is honest with what your car needs and does not try to sell you anything more. I have been here for two oil changes (and tire rotations), and happy with the service that was provided. Then, shortly after my second oil change, I had low pressure on one of my tires. I made an appt right away, and Dave personally called to check in on me. He was concerned something happened to my car/tire since he had just seen me for an oil change the week before. He is very caring, which makes the quality care at this shop superb. They were able to replace all my tires within a few hours. I had old tires, and one of them started to crack, possibly from going over a pothole or something. I am so happy I found a local shop I can trust and continue going to!

Dave was super friendly and nice. The tires were affordable and the lobby was clean with Wi-Fi. There’s also a donut shop close by if you’re looking for coffee while you wait. They were quick about the process so I was able to get to work on time. Normally I have a hard time trusting mechanic shops and would prefer to do the work myself but these guys were awesome, friendly and honest. Would definitely recommend.

Scheduled an appt online for 4 new tires after picking out a set online. Dave called a couple of days before the appt to check what I was looking for. Understandably, he told me that online inventory is not always accurate and gave me several options within a reasonable price range. That also gave me time to review my options before the appt. Appt day, Dave was friendly, helpful and didn’t try to upsell me. And my tires were installed and aligned quicker than expected.

Dave is back! We are new residents in Martinez that used to go to a different tire choice shop but we were always pleased with the way the do business. Now that we found Dave that runs this Tire Choice we could not be heppier. My review is long due, me and husband have both serviced our cars here, a ford escort and a jeep limited grand cherokee. They know all cars they are giving great deals and are very friendly. Highly recommended!

After finding a nail in each of rear tires, one near the sidewall, I was convinced that I would need to replace at least one tire. Called several tire dealers which told me there is a 3 to 4 days lead time. I then called Tire Choice and spoke to Dave, the store manager. He searched several suppliers and found that he could have one the next day. I drove the store to order the tire and for Dave to confirm I was ordering the correct tire. Once there Dave looked at the nail in my tire, removed it and inspected it for leaks. Tire was fine as the nail only went through the top surface of the tire. Dave refused payment for his time. The level of service that Dave provided plus his friendly demeanor is the reason I will return to this store again for my tire needs.Thanks again Dave.

Great experience! I ordered tires via USAA and made an appt for a few days later. The day of the installation, David called to say the tires weren’t in (that part wasn’t great). He apologized, explained that he had no control of when the tires would come, but promised to get me in quickly once they did. As promised, he followed up and when I didn’t call back he called again the next day. On the day of my appt, he was just as friendly and professional, and had a clean and welcoming shop. He checked my spare and brakes (which were bad!) but didn’t balk when I said I’d do the brakes myself. When I complained about the locking lug nuts on my car, he directed me to the cheapest online place to buy nuts that would work and offered install them for free. Great shop, and I’ll be going there from now on!

Update: I got a break job (front/back rotors and caliber ($1500). I needed the rotors machined less than 6 months later which they did under warranty. Now 15 months since the orginal break job, and the rotors need to be replaced again. The guy at the desk told me that I only got the 12 month rotors, they didnt offer me any higher quality ones at the time. He went on to tell me that was normal and that they often need to be replaced every year. Which is not true because I have been driving for 25 years and rotors last way longer than pads and even those dont go every year. I went to another mechanic I trust and he said they must have put low quality rotors in. Go somewhere else for break jobs and ask for OEM parts.They met my special request for an oil additive I wanted and gave me a bit of a discount, so 5 stars on that alone, but they topped that. I had a vacuum leak due to to a missing connector. They let me go get the connector ($7) and they installed it free in the parking lot! A less honest place probably would have charged me $300 to replace all the associated vacuum lines. I will keep getting my oil changed there and will get my next set of tires from them too. Honesty in mechanics is worth its weight in gold.

So I thought I would give you guys another try. It is four years later.I came by and asked if I could get some air in my trailer tires. The gentleman in the office completely ignored me when I walked in and I said hello about three times before he turned around. I thought maybe he had his earbuds in, but he did not. He was eating.I apologized for asking so many times and told him I assumed that he had not heard me.He ignored that completely and just asked what I needed. I told him I needed somebody to check the air in my tires because they were low and I felt it was unsafe. He looked at it and said because I had green caps on that they were filled with nitrogen, and said he couldn’t fill it up because I would have to pay for it. He didn’t even ask me if I wanted to pay for it. I would have gladly paid also I would’ve gladly paid for his time. I explained that they were not filled with nitrogen because I had added air previously. He said I couldn’t mix air and nitrogen and I said OK but I already did. He said I can’t do that. I asked him what would happen if I mixed it and he said he didn’t know but I had to call the people that sold my camper to me. I explained to him that I’ve had the camper for four years and I didn’t need to call them. He insisted I needed to call them so I went back into my truck while I was parked there, and I looked it all up. Apparently there is no problem with mixing nitrogen with air and the reason nitrogen is used is because it lasts longer. I went back in and I told him there’s no problem, but I would pay him if you would like to add nitrogen in the tires. He said he could not do that. It was unsafe . He said he needed to take off my wheels and redo everything. I was a little unclear after the part where he said he had to take the wheels off.So, if I have this straight, essentially what it means is that I have an unsafe driving condition because my tires are low and the person in the store refused to put air or nitrogen in my tires because, “(he) is the EXPERT.” I asked what could possibly happen if it’s unsafe. He said “I don’t know, it could explode and then I would sue him.” I actually laughed at that part. It’s ridiculous. That’s two strikes now. And certainly I don’t want somebody messing with my tires when, although the “expert,” he doesn’t even know that I can safely mix nitrogen and oxygen together. I also would not trust the sales person from this establishment after this. I would think that he was just trying to make money by convincing me that my tires are going to explode and he he had to take them off my trailer, but I sincerely believe that he truly thought they were going to explode.4 years prior: I went here recently to get my tires rotated and asked for a quote for my brakes. My quote was so high it was laughable and even the person helping me (providing the quote) looked distressed. I was ready to make an appointment for several repairs since they had seemed so nice in taking me without any wait to rotate my tires and to evaluate any repairs I might need regarding brakes and more, but I decided to wait after that. A few days later I received a promotional offer in the mail for 10% off on a brake estimate...really? I just got that for free when I had my tires rotated. Not only that, but I have tried 3 times to call to get a manager and he is always out. based on my experiences and outrageous quote for getting new brakes there is no way I would ever trust this business.

They are honest and take care of me every time I take my car in. I brought my car in for an oil change and they saw my wheels needed a very slight alignment, so they just took care of it for me. I also brought my car in because an undercarriage panel was dragging on the ground. They just fixed it and handed me my keys back and refused payment. A previous time, I went for an oil change, they had rebate forms at the desk. When they saw I was going to grab one, they just went ahead and applied it as a coupon instead to save me the trouble.

Friendly, helpful, but most importantly, honest! We were having trouble finding decent tires for our 1995 Toyota. Tire Choice was a bit of a drive for us, but well worth it. Mike helped us pick the best tire for us, got us in and taken care of in a timely manner, and switched our old spare at no additional charge. Everyone on the crew was friendly and respectful. The biggest thing though was that we asked them to check and replace our brakes, which our longtime mechanic had told us were in serious need of replacement. Mike checked and double checked and said our brakes were like new and absolutely did not need to be replaced! He chose to be honest when he could have made a sale and we never would have known the difference. He has made a new loyal customer, we will be back, and recommend this store to anyone looking for an honest, friendly auto store.

I found I had a lag screw stuck in my tire one night, and Dave got me in the next morning for a quick repair. My husband usually handles the services on all our cars, but I wanted to surprise him by getting him some new tires for a truck he has been restoring. I was nervous, not knowing what type of tires he would need or if they would even be the right fit.Robert Kline is the manager that working when I stopped by Tire Choice in Martinez and he is outstanding!Robert took the time to looked at some pictures I have of the truck and he looked at the wheels recently purchased. Robert showed me several different options, he showed me a variety tires, put together different sizes and protection packages so I could compare my options. He took the time to explain things that I really had not thought about, tread wear/tread life, traction and temperature ratings, and much more.Thanks to Robert I was able to purchase the tires for my husband and get them as a surprise for him bonus they are exactly what my husband wanted!I am very impressed with the service I received at Tire Choice, more so with how much time and information Robert was able to offer me.Robert Kline is very knowledgeable and he is extremely customer service conscientious. I feel like they really could have charged more for the thorough inspection that they do, but it is included in the price of an oil change,,,, AND tire rotation was included. Literally, I saved about $75 over where I have gone before and walked away with solid information and assurance of my cars good condition. They explained the tire wear pattern and didnt try to force a tire sale on me, but gave me options and to think about.Oh and major bonus: the internet there was great. so, I just sat there in the comfortable waiting area and took my business calls.

Go see Ken!. I brought my car here for an oil change and I was in and out in just under an hour. They not only performed my oil change, but they rotated my tires, checked my alignment and performed an inspection on my car. Getting ready for a road tip, it added some peace of mind knowing that everything on my car was good. The place is super clean and Ken was very engaging in conversation. I will definitely be back.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon because most other places were closed and I discovered one of my tires was in need of repair. First time using Tire Choice, and was very pleasantly surprised. I was attended to right away by friendly and helpful staff that didn’t leave me feeling intimidated by the whole experience-completely opposite from the place I normally get my tires, which I always dread having to go to. Got four tires in May with alignment - was really impressed by the service and price. Paid for the hazard coverage which came in handy, both front and rear driver side tires blew out due to debris in the road... only paid a fraction of the cost for two new tires! Hadian and the team have gone over and above to make sure Im a happy customer. Theyll treat you with respect and are very friendly.

Took 2 hours to replace one tire, and I was the first customer there, having made the appointment at 8am because I had 2 small kids with me and a lot of things to do that day. At the end, when I declined the alignment service because the whole thing had taken so long, the manager told me to make sure I tell my husband that the alignment is off, suggesting that because I was a woman I must not understand what that meant. The experience was awful from start to finish.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! We came in to see if they could fix my slow leaking tire and even though they had many projects going on, they still managed to get my tire in and get it fixed PROMPTLY. T is the manager and he is amazing! Very friendly, courteous, and reliable. We also had a great experience with Jack at the counter, he was awesome and kept our 2 year old busy by letting him run around. Overall this place is the best tire (and other services offered) place to go! Fast, reliable, prompt, and the waiting area was beyond clean! We’ve driven by this place numerous times and decided to finally see what it’s about, definitely do not regret that decision. We’ll be back whenever we need another service done. The team was great! 1) Being open on Sunday really saved my bacon! 2) Al and I found the right tire together and he advised that it might take several hours due to workload and personnel timing with breaks etc. To my astonishment the car was finished in about 40 minutes! The tire is good quality, workmanship is fantastic, and staff was courteous and helpful.

I brought my car in for an oil change. The woman at the front desk was very nice, and they delivered the car on time, however I received a call about an hour after dropping it off saying that my cars cabin air filter and car air filter needed to be replaced. I know this is often a ploy to upsell, but I just drove across the country and the pollen has been heavy, so I asked how much - $20 each - okay, I approved. When I went to pick up the car, there was a $30 installation fee added too. I questioned it saying it should have been disclosed upfront, and she took it off, but I dont like it when businesses tack on fees and hope you dont notice.

I have nothing but praise for the Martinez Tire Choice store. I had a replacement tire needing to be balanced, installed, and verified as damaged by a road hazard to the claim center. They saved me from having to submit photos and tire numbers by calling the claims people instead. They are a full service facility that inspects your vehicle and gives you a report. The manager explained how to get the most for your money by paying a little extra now and getting their follow up service later. Thats what I did and I highly recommend it to anyone else. I might add that the manager, Robert, made me feel like I was his best customer.

He recommended some services, but was not pushy like dealerships and even pointed out a parasitic draw the was killing a battery I had installed at a dealership just a year ago.Since the battery was under warranty, I didn’t have him replace it, but if I needed it outside of that, their shop is always welcome to work on my car issues.

Just wanted to share.My daughter was complaining to me she had a leaking tire on her car. She had to work, it was a Sunday. I took her car here because i service my car here and they are open on Sundays. I told the service manager the issue and that i would pick up the car when it was repaired. The manager called me shortly and stated they checked all tires no leaks detected anywhere. Car was ready. I returned back with my daughter. I went to Tire Choice to have two tires, which I had purchased from Tire Rack, mounted and installed. After some wait, (I recommend that they institute appointments.) Robert told me I had another problem - Apparently someone had repaired a flat tire by replacing it with an identical tire, except that it was four or five years older and had about 40 thousand more miles than mine. He gave me two options to make my drive both legal and close to ideal. I chose the more expensive option, with absolutely no pressure from Robert. Although I spent substantially more than I had I had anticipated, the entire service was very professionally done, the price was very fair, and I left feeling very satisfied with the results. And. I enjoyed the best ride I have ever felt in this car on the drive home.

Being a prior customer to the old ownership and a new customer to this ownership I can see a great deal of change for the better. It wasn’t bad before, but it wasn’t great either. I called up the other day to get an oil change. He asked me my name, and I gave him my first name only. I guess he used my phone number and pulled up my account. He asked which vehicle I would be bringing in as he had my two on record. Told me to bring it in when I wanted, which I did. He promptly called me back and let me know that my vehicle was ready. When I went to pick it up, he recognized me, addressed me by my first name and gave me my keys. It’s how you would expect to be treated, But rarely are these days. The new customer service there is greatly improved and appreciated.

Called them up on a whim searching for some 35/12.5R-20 tires for my Tundra. He checked the system and they didnt have any. But....then he remembered he ordered some Toyo Open Country AT2 in that size a couple of months ago for someone. They never picked them up. My luck! We discussed price and they were a little out of the range I was hoping to pay. With that size tire, the cost is immense. Mike, however, being the great guy he is, worked with me to get the price within my budget. I headed to the shop. Very impressed with how clean the place is. Even better is the service and friendliness of the guys there. Two hours later I drove off a happy customer that we give repeat business. I suggest you head down there as well. Talk to Mike!UPDATE.Less than a week after getting the new tires, the tire pressure monitor began blinking and then staying steady. This indicated a failure in the monitoring system. I was disappointed because I feel that maybe the sensors were damaged when the tires were changed. I took the truck back to Tire Choice to find out Mike is no longer there (bummer). Stewart helped though. We scanned the sensors and found the two front tires were not getting a reading. I called Toyota to find out cost. $470. Tire choice said they would replace them for $270. So they ordered them. Hot a call the next day they were in. Went down on a break and in about 75 mins. they installed the new sensors and programmed them. So far so good after that.

Now I’m no mechanic but usually when the low tire pressure light comes on I can fill my tires up with air at a gas station, but for whatever reason I couldn’t get air into my front right tire. I tried a couple different gas stations and the nozzle on my tire didn’t look damaged, but all I ended up doing was letting air out of my already low pressure tire. Flustered, I went to this Tire Choice Auto Service Center and an awesome guy named Rodney checked out my tires and filled them with air no problem and no charge. I know you’re dying to know, but we still don’t know why I couldn’t fill up my one tire myself at the gas station, but Rodney didnt have any trouble with it, and now it’s one less thing I have to worry about. This place was heaven sent today. Upon exiting Alhambra Avenue I thought I either ran over something or blew my tire because of the sound my suv is making. Not knowing any better I let em charge me $24 for nitrogen gas tire inflation, which is not worth the cost at all. They also promised to scan my check engine light and ABS for free, but I never got any results back. They did fine installing my tires and did check all my brakes letting me know they were worn. ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS and be a curious customer, especially when you are on a budget. Nice guys, good work, great prices, but business is always first. ($135/hr labor rate)

This used to be W&S Tires but it is no longer. It is now Certified Tire&Service Center. I did business with W&S tires for 42 years. It was always a good experience. The same cant be said about the new owners. I went in today with a nail in a tire-not something that you can schedule for repair. In the W&S tire days they would have been polite and helpful.They would have taken my tire and told me to comeback in a couple of hours.Today the counter man less that accommodating. I offered to leave the tire and he had to check with the boss. He came back and said that if I wanted to comeback mid afternoon the might just might be able to fix it. Im taking a road trip tomorrow so that wont do. I said OK and left and went and found somebody to fix the problem. 42 years is a long time to do business with a business.After today that is over. To anyone who went to W&S tires and thinks that you will still be greeted with courtesy or get service that is better than average think again.If you want to go here fine but I never go there again. Ron and Sam Barone you knew how to do business.I miss you guys.The zoom dweebies that own this place now could learn a great deal from you.

I have more than one car and this was a only place I went for my cars service, oil change, alignment, everything. There was only one customer who was talking with front desk clerk. Ive never seen him there before. A few minutes later, the customer ahead of me gave me the desk. That front desk clerk is a young guy didnt say even Hi to me and He made himself busy with service mechanics. Didnt acknowledge me at all, not even eyes contact. 15 mins later, I left this location for good. I will never come back to this location for my cars again. This is my first bad review to a business because I feel that they need to learn what is important when doing a business.

Robert was kind enough to drive me home so I didnt have to wait at the shop all day. He called throughout the day to let me know what he found and keep me in the loop. Last night I heard the sound of scratching/dragging metal under my car...I forgot about it til I was driving to work this afternoon and heard it more consistently. By the time I pulled into Jack in the Box next door to stop for food, the scratching was so loud and embarrassing it sounded like someone dragging the Tin Man around the drive thru😭. I had 15 more minutes to clock in to work down the street. Conveniently enough, I noticed the auto shop next door, so I turned in. Im really hurt by this place, took advantage of an unknowing person. If you dont know about cars and are looking for people who will help you understand whats going on with your vehicle and honestly take care of the work that needs to be done for the actual price it should be done for. Do not go here. Two visits here two full diagnostics at almost $100+ each (the first visit I said find whateever is wrong and fix everything) and almost $3,000 worth of work later and a mobile mechanic from YourMechanic tells me theres something wrong with my car, long time problems that were not fixed that are now rendering it useless. Most of all dont sign up for the Good Year Credit Card they try to sell you, 43$ of the 60$ Im paying a month to pay it off is just for interest. After Ive paid it off Im canceling and cutting ties with this place. Just awful.
