Pretty café. Small pepino mint lemonade was expensive (over $4), artificial tasting, and too sweet. One single pastry at around 4 pm felt like not enough to choose from. I like the idea of Latin American coffee shop but I wish it felt less corporate. Echo-ey inside, not a good place to take a call.

Non-local, here visiting a friend in the bay area and stopped by on a Sunday morning. Quite possibly the worst tasting chai tea latte I have ever had in my life. Very nicely located and cute coffee shop with a beautiful plant-decorated interior and ample seating. They have vegan milk options (oat milk and almond milk) and I enjoyed a peppermint mocha that was nicely not too sweet and not too peppermint-y. The music was also very nice, lots of guitar and spanish music.

Came here hoping to be productive and get some studying done but the wifi would not work AT ALL! Even after shutting down my laptop twice and using my own personal hotspot. Wanted to try the horchata frap but they would not have oatmilk as an alternative. Don’t recommend coming here if you’re trying to get some studying done. Waste of time

Been to Cali 2 times now, and been pretty disappointed with whatever coffee shops I visited in LA and San Francisco. Me and my homie stopped at Oakland for a bit and decided to check this spot out. Im going to go ahead and say that this is the best coffee in California and definitely in the top 5 compared to the shops back home in Chicago! The staff was super friendly, the vibes were chill, and the coffee was delicious. If Im ever in the area again, Im coming back. I already started plugging folks back home!

I love the coffee here, the menu has a wide variety of quality tbeverages that really do justice to traditional flavors. I only wish that the inside aesthetic matched more of the “culture” that they are trying to convey. Inside is very bland and after a while you lose the sense of it being a Mexican establishment.Would love for this place to feel cozier in the future! Maybe play some Mexican music to start. (:

I stopped in for a quick to-go coffee while I was waiting for my pending bus on the opposite side of the street. Once the staff figured out that I was in a rush to get to the bus stop, they were accommodating and helped me get my coffee quickly. I would like to come back here to sit and work or read, it has a good variety of seating options and seems like a nice place to people watch.

Do not come here if you want a secure or safe environment to do work. I never, ever leave reviews and was really excited to try this place. The building and interior was dirty. The coffee was fine but wasnt good enough to make up for the number of unhoused people camping out inside, disturbing myself and others trying to work. I have a lot of sympathy for the current situation in Oakland but there were multiple unhoused people seeking refuge in the coffee shop. It was busy and people were looking for tables. They occupied several tables and didnt buy anything to my knowledge. One of them kept on circling around my very out of they way table when I was working on my laptop and was quite aggressive. If it was a lone actor who walked in randomly it would be one thing, but this guy had been napping inside for a long time. I didnt feel safe doing work here on my computer as a result and am surprised the management allows them to freely camp out.

Coffee is good, slightly on the pricier side. Absolutely, unequivocally, hate those paper straws, make sure to get 5 of them to drink your frappes, which goes against the whole eco friendly narrative. Cool place.

I really enjoy the customer service and ambience of this location. On a regular basis it’s a nice place to go and get work done or just catch up with friends. As someone who does not drink coffee, I enjoy the fact they have such a large menu, but was highly disappointed when I saw that their lemonade options are a combination of boxed purée’s and Minute Maid lemonade. Maybe their other drinks are more “authentic” but I definitely wouldn’t order anything with strawberries in it or lemonade

I looooooved their Horchatta Frapp! It is an understatement. I am a bit of coffee lover and never knew about this place until my boyfriend introduced me. I fell in love with their Horchatta Frapp the savory flavor was amazing. The only thing that i disliked was the location. Sitting in the middle of a busy downtown Oakland street it was not easy finding parking. Will it stop me from coming back? Probably not. Will i want a more convenient location, definitely. I will not take away from how amazing their coffee and croissants are!

Definition of mid, the atmosphere is amazing with pictures and plants but thats where it ends.My drink was really good, and the food was good, but one friend got stale tasting matcha and the other got the wrong drink (there IS a difference between Americano and drip coffee). I LOVE this place. They have the best matcha drinks and the prices are affordable. The pastries are delicious too and the customer service is always on point. Tried their banana bread and coffee cake which was absolutely amazing! I got a matcha latte which while it was smooth it tastes more like stale matcha than anything. Their food was so good that I hate to say this is the worst matcha latte Ive had. My friend got a Horchata frappe which he really enjoyed while my other friend ordered an americano and got drip coffee. Atmosphere was very lovely though.

Not really a coffee drinker, but their horchata frappe was so good and a fair price for the area. Would definitely come back. Staff were also very friendly too.Its a nice place to get work done and pretty clean. However theres only a few tables that are next to outlets – just FYI in case you do work on a computer. It was pretty quiet, not too loud or busy, unless you sat right under the speaker in which case it could get a little noisy.

Second time ordering the rice & beans frappe and lemme tell you it’s WORTH IT and DELICIOUS. The small size looks rather little, but its flavor satisfies you enough to not need so much drink. I enjoy the vibe here! Its a great place to be productive and the wifi is good here. It has a humble menu, but I recommend eating somewhere else before coming here. The food isnt worth it. Had to take my car in for service and walked a few blocks to this cafe. For the most part, it was nice, but because of Covid they had the tables and chairs configured strangely. Negatives are the outlet situation (as far as I can tell there are three in the entire store, which sits about 30 people) and the music volume, which is typically WAY too loud to hold a normal conversation or get work done. I really like the vibe of Tierra Mia but if youre trying to limit your exposure to ambient noise you should probably find another coffeeshop. :(EDIT: Been back a couple times and the noise situation has been much better. Upgrading to 4 stars.

This place is really lovely and right next to the BART station! The horchata late is probably my favorite, but I had their pumpkin spice one most recently and was not disappointed. They have good snack selections in addition to the coffee. I really love how this place looks, a def fave date spot if coffee is your thing. Love this spot! You have to try their horchata latte, I had like two the day I first came here. Their Mexican hot chocolate late is also worth it. This place is also great for working because of its ample table space and outlets. Even has a comfy couch if you want to lounge. Love the selection and quality of coffee. I originally came across this place because it was one of the few coffee shops open on the weekend in downtown Oakland. I looked at their menu online and was immediately intrigued by the cafecito Cubano con Leche on the menu. I walked in and was mesmerized by the coffee sacks hanging and all the international photos showing the origin of the coffee beans. It always feels so friendly in here. The croissant was flaky and fluffy, the coffee was delicious (while the horchata latte was too sweet for me, my friend loved it, I had a black pour over special and it was divine). Its always a buzz in here with all types of people, but if theres an open spot at someones table, they will most likely let you sit with them. I appreciate this spot.

I come her often for their Horchata inspired drinks because theyre so good and give a festive feeling all year round. Theyre situated right across the street from the 19th St BART station in that awesome green building so you cant miss it. Tierra Mia is so good I drive from San Jose to get here. The hands down best vanilla latte, and the horchata latte is dangerously addictive (I had three in two hours). They also offer alternative milks. Its usually busy, so finding a seat is tricky, but if youre coming to study, its worth the wait. Outlets all around, and their weird pastries are great. Everyone is friendly and amazing.

Disgusting. Ordered an almond milk latte. Took forever to be made. It tasted like cinnamon, when I asked why, they shrugged their shoulders. Got home with my cup and dumped it in the sink...there was some sort of sludge glopped at the bottom...a dissolved cookie? I have no idea. Never experienced anything as disgusting at any coffee shop. I hope drinking it wont make me ill. There are plenty of other spots in the area for coffee. Ill be going there!

Love this place in Los Angeles. Came to this one to look for my usual. To my surprise they dont have the tres leches muffin in norcal. I was so bummed out. I was so excited to see one of my favorite coffee shops but at least they had the horchata latte right. WRONG! The only person on site who could steam milk was on lunch. So they could serve was regular coffee and cold drinks. Bad experience over all. Sad to see the lack of continuity in all locations.

This cafe is pretty cool and different from what you would usually get from a Starbucks or Peets. It plays good Mexican music! The vibe is relaxing. Theres a bunch of pictures on the wall that you can look at. My parents love coming here because the coffee tastes like it does in Mexico.

I used to come to this shop on the regular. But today was my last attempt at coming here. Today at 6:39pm. Cody refused service to me and my one year old child (whom I had just walked 10 mins with to make it before closing) bc they were “backed up” in orders. He refused to make an exception even though they close at 7pm. What horrible service and what a rude person you all have chosen to be at the front lines of your service. This will be my last time attempting to patron this establishment. What a poor representation of Tierra Mia and local coffee shops in general.0 stars. Do not recommend.

This is a small chain coffee shop with good wifi and power outlets. Having been to one of the chain locations, I didnt find this second one surprising or special anymore. But its more enjoyable than Starbucks, for sure. Coffee was pretty good, the rest of the coffee menu seemed regular, and I am not that much into sweet coffee drinks that populate the rest of the menu. Pastries seem ordinary, and I havent seen any healthy options. Oh, and there are flies everywhere.The opening hours were accommodating (I am looking at you, the rest of the Downtown Oakland work coffee shops), wifi strong, and power outlets plentiful. Just make sure to bring headphones, the ambient music is on the louder side. Overall, an unremarkable coffeeshop: I will not be seeking it out, but I will not hesitate to come here if I am in the neighborhood, need to get work done, and there are no other options.

The horchata latte lived up to the hype! I just found it weird that when I said I wanted skim milk (dont judge), the girl at the register listed all the milks they had, including non-fat. She didnt seem to realize that skim = non-fat. Strange. But she complimented my bullet journal later when I was working at the communal table, so she cant be all bad. Anyway, the cafe is a nice place to do work but also can get packed. They only have one register as far as I could see, so the line was long.

Ive only had a chance to try 2 of their drinks, the mexican mocha and the horchata frapp and they were both AMAZING. The mocha is a little too rich for my taste but its halfway between a cappuccino and sipping hot chocolate. The frapp was really worth every penny and I will definitely be bringing more friends to visit in the future. Keep up the great work!

I think the concept behind is totally backwards. The coffee is decent but to say terra Mia ( my land ) is for he Hispanic community is ridiculous. From where they get the coffee is maybe $2 Per kilo tops, yet they charge $20 for 12oz at their shops. They also told me because it’s from Long Beach they want to keep the Hispanic culture and community behind it so they’re located in newly developed areas which were once Latino. How many Latino customers from the communities do they have? WHAT ABOUT FAIR TRADE???

Ive found a favorite coffee shop in Oakland.Ive tried the regular coffee, latte, and the horchata latte. I was apprehensive about getting the horchata latte because Im not a huge fan of horchata, mainly because its too sweet. But the barista told me I could do half sweet, which was perfect! Whilst waiting for a bus I decided that I had time for coffee (10 minutes). I popped inside and ordered a coffee, paid, and expected to get the coffee in a minute or two. Nope. Not even close. The service is not just slow, its EXTRA slow. And when you ask about why its taking so long, the response is were very busy today. Their Idea of very busy is 7 orders waiting to get done. They had three baristas working and it took over 11 minutes to get an americano. Youd think that they would at least have a ready-brewed option for people who just want coffee. This place is your down to eartg indie local cafe where people gather to do work on their laptops or meet with friends. They have couches and decent chairs. The crowd is a mix of hipsters and native oakland residents who live not too far from the Paramount theater its two doors down from.
