John from Thousand Oaks Insurance Agency helped my mom quickly find new homeowners insurance after a recent policy cancellation. He was incredibly patient, answering all of our questions and running multiple rounds of policy combinations (e.g. home + auto, different policy limits). Each time, he clearly presented each option. He even put together short videos explanations walking through each aspect and term of the policy, making selecting the right insurance approachable. We appreciated his professionalism, responsiveness, and consideration. On top of all that, the policy he found was significantly less expensive (~30%) than my moms prior one, with equivalent coverage. We would recommend John and Thousand Oaks Insurance Agency without hesitation!

Horrible experience. I was back and forth with Phena for over a month trying to get a car insurance quote. Told her that we were only interested in car insurance in my originating email. I did not hear back from her, so emailed various times, called, left a voicemail and finally got ahold of her by scheduling a call via the website. She explained the situation with needing to bundle insurances, but said she would get back to me the next day with an update. Never did. Had to email twice, then call days later only to be told the same thing. It was a frustrating experience as I gave her all of the necessary information, and was transparent with only needing car insurance, and I had to practically chase her for an answer. Waited 1 month for nothing, and no updates despite emailing, calling, leaving voice-mails, etc. Totally understand the state of current insurance companies, but the communication on her end was non-existent.

Thousand Oaks Insurance Agency was extremely helpful in helping me obtain homeowners insurance after my prior insurer non-renewed me (they left residential business completely). First time weve used an independent insurance broker. I was very impressed with Phenas knowledge of different companies; what coverage they offer, finding the best fit based on our budget and requirements. We saved just under $3,000 for a years coverage on home, auto, and umbrella policies for the same and even at times with better coverage. After received no renewal notice from my long time insurance provider late last year, I was in a scramble mode to find an underwriter for my home policy. Like many people in California, it’s very tough to get home insurances after being dropped out by big companies. John was referred to us by a friend in the right time. As a great independent agent, John has great understanding of the situation. He patiently walked us through the process and potential options facing us in short term. John was very responsive to our questions and provided many iterations of quotes for our needs. In few weeks, we decided with the CalFair plan with a DIC wrap around policy with optimal coverage for us. The transition has been very smooth. He committed to shop around for alternative options after cal insurance maker stabilized in the future.
