Literally the BEST car buying experience I’ve had. I had no intention of driving an hour away from home when there are so many other Toyota dealerships between my home and Placerville, but the experience and communication between myself and Genaro, my salesman, was excellent. Genaro was kind, incredibly professional, honest, and fully transparent in every interactions. I also appreciate the help I received from Jim the finance manager and the general manager too! The dealership is warm and inviting and there were, thankfully, no hovering sales people waiting to pounce on the next person to roll onto the lot looking for a new car. I will be recommending Thompsons Toyota to as many people as I can. Such a great experience.

Excellent salesmen and experience for a first time buyer. explained every feature and detail of the truck amazingly. made the test drive fun and interesting, explained how to use many of the drive modes. overall made me and my family feel comfortable and confident with our purchase. would highly recommend doing business with mr.bill!

Mr. Bill was great! From the moment he picked up our phone call to delivering us our dream car! He was courteous, professional, and hardworking! Even though our new car purchase went past store hours. He made sure we still felt welcome! Thompsons are lucky to have Mr. Bill as an employee!

Miguel and Adam are absolutely amazing and our experience with Thompson’s is always great! We bought 5 cars from them. The service department is pretty amazing too. Hunter always makes me feel right at home. I love that it is family owned. Miguel was great at answering all our questions and making us feel comfortable and confident in our purchase! He was never pushy and it felt more like a good friend helping us. Miguel always had a smile on his face and was always willing to go the extra mile for us.

Was really excited to work with Anthony to get a 2022 GR86 Premium but unfortunately they don’t back the Toyota name. My first car purchase at a dealership and I lived 2 hours away in Reno, so I made the drive but got held up and asked if it would be better for me to come by another day but they told me to come on over and sold me the car after hours. I drove home and loved the car but I noticed a difference in road noise from another of the same model I rode in and checked my tires the next day. I gave the dealership a call and let them know that the tires were no where near the OEM tire quality (Michelin Pilot Sport 4) and was told they’d research the replacement tires (Vercelli Strada 2). I put up little fight in the sales process and gave them a near $7000 profit on the KBB value. A week later and I hear nothing back so I call to check up and the general sales manager who says there is nothing he can do. I love Toyota and wanted to find a dealership I could count on to hold up the brand name and take care of their customers but it looks like I was mistaken. For nearly the price of a new one I got a used entry level sports car with Walmart tires and a reach around.

Everything went great, the level of customer service was exceptional. From the first contract by Briston about my interest in the new Grand Highlander to finalizing the paperwork and driving away. Very low key, no pressure atomishere at Thompsons Toyota not like other places. They did deliver on my requested vehicle and kept me informed on the build process and answered all my questions. I am glad I followed up and went there because I truly received the vehicle I wanted.

Highly troubling and dishonest experience yesterday with Mr. Bill and the sales manager in the sales department! I called a few days ago to schedule a trade appraisal of my 2023 Prius XLE which I wanted to trade for a RAV4 Hybrid because I’m moving to SLT. They lowballed the Prius I literally bought less than a year ago with Miguel for $38k. First, they offered $26k and when I told them that wasn’t a good trade value based on the KBB trade in value and off he went to the manager. He came back and said the highest they would go was $28k - mind you the car has only 9500 miles on it and there’s nothing cosmetically wrong with it that detailing wouldn’t erase. I asked why they were offering thousands lower than the KBB trade in and he couldn’t answer. He just went back to the manager. Then “Mr. Bill” tried to say, after coming back from talking with the sales manager for the second time, that my car has a safety recall and they weren’t sure if my VIN was affected or even that they could fix it. I said no and was about to walk out when he came back from the sales manager office for the third time and said that my VIN wasn’t affected and they wanted to buy my car so I countered $30k. Suddenly he clicked over to being courteous with me again and told me we’d ride down to the financial office, but what he didn’t tell me, was that their computer systems were all down due to getting hacked! So when I showed up at the financial office they said they would do all the paperwork but not write me a check!? So they expected me to sell the car right there and then without a check in hand?? I don’t think so! That’s so unprofessional; I cannot imagine making a deal anywhere where I sell a practically brand new car without cash in hand or a vehicle to trade for. I feel misled by this dealership especially as a would-be repeat customer; shame on them for trying to lowball an honest trade and for not being up front about their systems. My advice: take your business somewhere you and your hard earned money will be treated with the respect you deserve!

Miguel was our salesman and he was friendly, helpful, and super positive. He stayed late to make sure everything was set up and that we were ready to get on the road. Any question we had he either knew the answer to or got the answer for us. We drove 3.5 hours to shop here and would totally make the drive again. Thompsons Toyota has new customers for life!

Working with Thompsons Toyota proved to be the best car buying experience I’ve ever had! The price they offered was fair from the start so there was no hours long back and forth negotiating. This is rare and is so valuable in my opinion.Mr. Bill helped me with my purchase of a Toyota Tacoma. He made the whole process great! He was very attentive and offered excellent communication. I felt like everyone I worked with from sales to finance truly appreciated my business. Great job Thompsons Toyota team! I’ll be back!
