We had the best experience at Thompson gmc. I wanted a specific truck and shopped many dealers to find it. Kyle helped us and was wonderful start to finish. He was very low pressure and great to work with. They are very competitively priced and worked with us to get what we wanted at the payment we were looking for. We won’t be shopping anywhere else!!

WOWED with every step of the process! From the 1st phone call with our amazing sales associate Kyle, to the fair price negotiation over the phone, to the test drive, Steve in finance was honest and knowledgeable and ultimately driving home in a brand new dream truck. 5 star experience from the moment we walked in all the way yo having keys in hand. Everything from very friendly staff, and a clean facility. We had a bad experience in the past from a different dealer and I can say Johnathon Carr from Thompson GMC made this experience 100x better. I really enjoyed my experience purchasing from Thompsons. Johnathan Carr was a great salesperson. He was well-informed on the vehicle features and was very pleasant to work with. He let us explore the vehicle without hovering or being pushy. Aaron Freeman handled our finance paperwork and he was quick, yet made sure that I fully understood everything about the transaction when I asked questions. I wanted a very specific GMC Sierra 1500 truck, and had been researching and looking for it for 18+ months in SAC, RSV, DVS, and all around. Visited several dealerships and car sales lots. Received lots of pressure from sales people and even mistreatment from some because the wanted only their terms, and all of them lost their opportunities. I found Kyle to be very attentive, no pressure at all, informative, and listener to what I was looking for not only in terms of the truck itself, but the terms I was prepared to offer and accept. I had the most pleasant experience with him, and extraordinary with Brad, sales manager. We went over the deal and they provided exactly what I was requesting. The truck needed a couple of items, and between Kyle and Brad, they made totally sure I was to receive them, and they came through with it. I am not only greatly satisfied, but most impressed with the professionalism, superb customer service, and genuine effort to see me as a happy customer of their dealership. Small dealership leaves a huge impression!Look, I had no leverage. I was very negative in a Jeep lease and wanted to see if there was anyway out. Because they also own a Dodge dealership selling the lease here would be a great option to get into a different brand. Communication with this dealership was very easy. I live an hour and some change away and made it very clear if its not going to work tell me so I dont waste my time and they didnt immediately say yes. (Which was good l, I didnt want to waste my time) after a while I called back just to see if there was any updates. And sure enough he said Im pretty sure we can make something work. Wasnt a yes... but wasnt a no... asked me to fill out an application before I drove up so I did.I orginaly worked with Robert but he wasnt there Saturday then got in connection with Harveen and Jessie the sales manager.They made it work. Because of the negative I didnt have too much negotiations. There was no mark up, actually a discount. And about 1k in dealer installed accessories which we brought down a but. The intrest rate was about what I was pre-approved at. They didnt show me the actual buy rate. But again I had no leverage.This is by far the best experience Ive had at a dealership... (this is personally my 5th time buying a car and over 10 times helping family friends ) I entered the dealership at 130 and was out but 4. (Figuring out the trade in took the longest part.)Fiance took about 10 mins. The whole process was delightful. I truly can not complain.With my purchase of a new 24 gmc canyon at4 I got ; Thompsons branded bottle of wine and two branded leather Keychains..No haggle, no pressure, no headache.I will be recommending Thompson dealerships and Im sure they will see me at one of their dealerships with a family or friend in the next few months.Thank you again,Robert, Harveen, Jesse, Aaron (Fiance manager, and once again Thompsons GMC for making it work!

Service work was fine. Service advisor was excellent. But, I had a 1:15 appointment, arrived 10 minutes early. Then the truck was not moved into the work area til 2:15. It was a simple oil change appt and I waited on site for the work to be done.

This our second vehicle purchase here. We are pleased with the whole team from sales to service. This is my dealership of choice for my auto needs. Thank you Thompsons team.Ever since I bought my first vehicle at Thompsons and had my service done at this facility, it has been my dealer/service provider of choice. It is over 60 miles from where I live and there are other choices much closer, but this is my preference for buying and service. My experience with both sales and service has always been great. I started my shopping in mid-january by looking online at vehicle, features, costs, etc. When I was pretty sure which general direction, I wanted to go I reached out on-line to Thompsons and Jonny Carr responded. I made an appointment and stopped by afterwork. At that visit Jonny showed me a few Yukons that were on the lot, though all were already spoken for. He as able to let me see and touch the various features; and that really helped me figure out what I wanted. As well, it was in this visit that i determined that my budget would get me the care I really desired. At that time Jonny also showed me what Yukons were inbound. After a little more study I made a choice and told Jonny I wished to purchase a specific vehicle that was due in mid-February. Getting a value for my trade, going over the purchase numbers, all of were a breeze. In the morning of 2/16 Jonny let me know my car was in; and that afternoon we took care of business. Over the years my wife and I have bought a dozen or so new cars. This is the third vehicle I have bought from a Thompsons dealership and this might have been the easiest transaction yet.

When picking up the truck Jonny took time to explain all the additional warranty’s and coverages but I never felt pressured to take any of them. I purchased a Certified 2015 Buick Encore from Thompsons Buick GMC about 2 weeks ago now. I originally saw the car online after looking for certified cars of this make and model with low miles and good prices. I inquired online and was promptly contacted by Gary, who helped answer my questions about the car and the dealerships financing options. I wanted to finance with my personal credit union, and did not feel pressured into using the dealerships financing. In the end, my credit union wasnt able to offer me a great rate so I applied online with Thompsons and within 24 hours my application was accepted with a great first time buyer rate. Jesse called and talked me through the offer and all the additional options (extended warranty and such) and was very honest and up front about what the costs would be. I was well informed, but did not feel pressured at any point during this process. The team was willing to deliver my car to me, but since I was going out of town we ended up setting a time the following Monday for me to pick the car up at the dealership. When I got there, Gary was ready to help me test drive the car to ensure it was what I wanted. The route was a variety (a little freeway, a little hill, a little around town) so I really got a feel of how the car handled and if it was right for me. Once back inside, I worked with Eddie to go over all the final numbers (which had not changed from what I was quoted) and sign all the paperwork. Gary filled my tank with gas for free, and in about 2 hours total, I was off! I really appreciate the honesty and quality customer service I was given during this whole experience. As a young woman, I had already experienced a lot of pressure and haggling at other dealerships and I did not feel that way at Thompsons. Bonus points, the dealership is SUPER dog friendly! I had all 3 of my small dogs with me, and staff didnt even blink an eye. They were able to sit quietly with me during all the paperwork and we drove home in my new car together. Love the car I bought, and loved the experience!For reference, my car was under $15k for a Certified 2015 with less than 20,000 miles. What a great deal!

My wife and I have boughten 3 new vehicles from the Thompsons and theyve certainly earned our future business as well as our referrals! First, once my Inquiry was made I was contacted immediately via email, text and phone. I expressed my interest and need in a particular vehicle and required options. Once on-site the salesman already had a vehicle meeting my requirements and after a quick review arranged for my wife and I to test drive the truck. After test driving 2 trucks and our decision was made the rest of the process for price and trade in went surprisingly well and quickly. Our truck suddenly had a fluid leak and we didn’t want to take the chance to drive it into Placerville, so we had it towed. Bill accepted the truck and made sure it was inspected and we were called as to what it needed right away. It took a few days, understandably, and we had no issues with the time. Bill kept us informed every step of the way. Our truck is fixed and we feel confident in the workmanship at Thompson’s.

Looking to purchase and or trade in, Ask for Kyle Ryan!!! I traded in my Tahoe for a newer- to-us Yukon. There were very specific things I was looking for. I stayed in communication with Kyle for several months until the right one came available. I wasn’t in a huge hurry to purchase but he literally found me exactly what I was looking for.When it came time to make the purchase, I thought it was going to be a lengthy process to trade in my Tahoe and put the trade in value towards the purchase price of the Yukon. It was the easiest and smoothest process. I was also very happy with what they offered me for my Tahoe to trade in.Kyle made this process so enjoyable and easy. Service writer was evidently having a bad day and couldn’t find a smile or a welcome.Had appointment. Simple service was not completed for over six hours. “We got busy” is no excuse. Why make an appointment if work will not be completed in a reasonable period of time?Requested tire rotation. It was not listed or performed. How do I know? I have a specific tire pressure profile that I always need to adjust because the techs use the door jamb label. As they should. This time the pressures did not require a reset. Either the work was not done or the tech checked the tire pressure first and readjusted exactly. Not.This was not the kind service that I have come to expect from Thompsons.

The service advisor was pleasant and tried to help, but we have a huge problem with a buzzing rattle in the dash of our truck. We were told it would most likely not be covered with our very expensive bumper to bumper extended warranty?!?!?! We would most likely have to pay about $3,700 for the technician to dig into our dash to find the problem, and they might create more rattles in doing so?!?!?On top of that very angering lack of service, I jumped in my truck after having the oil, filter, fuel filter and transmission service and my coolant was low?!?!? They were supposed to check all fuels, right??? Why didn’t the service tech see that it had a message saying it was low??? He should have seen that and taken care of it. I’ve had other issues in the past when bringing it in for the regular services, so I stopped using Thompson’s for that reason. I have never given a bad survey in my life!!! Thompson’s is our go-to spot when shopping for a new vehicle. I have only purchased vehicles through them and will continue to do so. I appreciate their professionalism but also that they make the stressful process a bit more fun! The sales staff are great, the managers are always present and happy to answer questions. Purchased a brand new truck here. Had water stains on the black paint that I didn’t know about till after purchasing and their detail guy didn’t take out any of the water spots (they should fire the detail guy). I would recommend having them wash the car then you inspect the paint IN THE SUNLIGHT b4 you purchase. Still giving this place a good rating because they’re very friendly and prices are reasonable compared to other GMC dealers. I worked with Clinton and overall have no regrets.

I originally shopped here December of 2022 and bought a Sierra 1500. Service was 10/10. Unfortunately that truck was no good and I had to utilize GM’s buyback process for a new vehicle. Jonny walked me thru the process once I was done on the corporate side. I had been looking at trucks online for several months and was interested in the new GMC Sierra HD. My friend knew several people who had purchased from Thompsons GMC and they liked the experience, so Thompsons was my first stop when I went to test drive trucks. It turns out Thompsons had the model I preferred and they were up front and honest about ways to save a little on the price, even for a model that is in high demand. Second time in to fix center console lid they replaced part they damaged when fixed the first time. When I checked lid after second repair the lid still does not open and close correctly. Also rear wheel liners that I was told were ordered the day I purchased truck were not ordered until Tuesday when I came in to fix center console lid. When I left Tuesday “Neal” said parts will be in, bring truck in and they’ll install wheel liners and and have bed sprayed as per sales agreement.

Bought a BMW from this dealership. The experience overall was good, but within a day the breaks started making noise. I emailed immediately and was told that can often be normal when a car has been sitting and it’s rainy. It was a rainy summer, so I gave them the benefit of knowing their business. After multiple months the noise only got worse, I took it in and found it needed new front and rear breaks. It was almost $4,000 for the repair. I emailed and was told there was nothing they could do. I was told I could bring the car back to them to look at, but I came from out of town and it’s crazy to ask me to drive a car multiple hours with known bad breaks to them! Obviously safety wasn’t their priority. Who sells a car without making sure it’s safe or at least offering something for their poor service knowing it cost me. Obviously not a thorough check before selling the car.

I came across a specific car on their website that I loved and as soon as they opened I called, was greeted with the warmest welcome and felt so comfortable with the help of Dustin! He sent a video to show detail of the car and I thought that was such a cool thing to do for someone (we live 1.5hrs away). By the video we fell in love with the car. I’m bummed I can not remember the names of the other gentlemen that helped us but The management team put together a wonderful package and I feel like it was right where we wanted to be financially. Super sleazy dealership . Spoke with a salesman and thought I order a truck. Kept in contact with the salesman frequently and found he lied to me for 4 1/2 months ( the truck was never ordered). The dealership after the fact tried too say it had to do with supply constraints, but I was told they had an allocation slotted for me truck and it was ordered. I believe he was told to do this by his leadership. I was in contact with several dealership and miss out other opportunities to order a truck because I thought I already had one on order.There are many very good dealership in the area, just skip Thompsons GMC sleazy dealership.LOL called it. After being told several times the truck was on order, they are still trying to claim it is do supply constrains. SO many good dealerships in the area, dont waste your time with Sleazy Thompson GMC.

Dustin Hill did a fantastic job answering all of our questions and showing us every feature that our new Acadia came with.The best part of our experience was the 5min video that Dustin sent via email on the specific 2022 Acadia we were interested in. He went into detail demonstrating every feature from the convenience package all the way down to the technology package. After seeing the video we bypassed multiple GMC dealerships and drive 90+ miles up the hill to Placerville. We were very well taken care from the moment we walked in, test drove, sat down for financing, and the hand off of keys. We had a leak coming from the shark fin antenna in the roof of our Duramax. We also had a couple buttons not lit on A/C control cluster, and a door panel piece pop out. I have been looking at trucks online and ran across one I liked at Thompsons. As there were only 4 photos, I filled out the availability form and requested more photos. I was replied to immediately and told those were the only 4 photos the dealership had of the truck and to pick an exact time and date to make an appointment to see it in person. While the truck we were looking at wasn’t yet drivable they let us look at the interior and quickly found us one with the same engine and suspension to drive. The buying process was fairly fast and the price fair. While other dealers are adding thousands in “market” markups during this period of low supply, Thompsons did not. My wife and I began in the lot, hoping to find a couple of trucks unlocked that we could look at before the nagging salesperson arrived. None were unlocked and before we could get halfway through the lot, a salesperson caught up to us. To our surprise, Sean was a breathe of fresh air. His low key, non intrusive approach was exactly what we wanted. He allowed us to take a test drive without pestering us. When we were ready to buy, Sean was helpful with our trade in and Alex came in to explain the warranties. Ive NEVER purchased a warranty before but was impressed with the explanation Alex gave so we got one. Financing was smooth with everything being an electronic signature. After signing, Sean was back to answer any questions and explain some of the features of our new Carbon Pro Sierra 1500. My initial experience with the service attendant was fine. I retuned the second day to pick my vehicle up and found that the bill I had been told would be $190 was now $425. I then asked to review this bill with the Service Manager. I pointed out to the manager that the problem in the bill was caused by the individual who handled my original purchase of the vehicle in 2017. At that time the Extended Service Agreement was filed by the dealership (Thompson) with the wrong name (Robert James vs Robert James Gross). Since this was the 1st time I had used this extended service agreement it was being rejected by the Insurance Company since the name didnt match. I had called that morning following discussion with initial service attendant and had name corrected at the Insurance Company. Following my discussion with the Service Manager the explanation I received was more than adequate. The Manager informed me that the problem would be addressed by them with the Insurance Company and adjusted my bill to reflect the correct action that would be taken. After paying the adjusted bill I left the dealership with the knowledge that I had received a more than fair treatment. This reinforced my initial decision to purchase my vehicle (2017) from the Thompson dealership since I had looked at a number of GMC dealerships and decided that Thompson had a history of treating their customers fairly and focused on customer satisfaction as one of their key business goals. The Service Manager handled the problem in a professional, fair and open manner and reinforced my confidence in the Thompson organization. I will definitely purchase my next vehicle from Thompson.

Had service appointment for the following issues: oil change, check engine light on, and tailgate button plastic housing had popped out. Got my truck back only to find out they only changed the oil to the tune of $120 bucks. Now have to bring the truck back on a new appointment and a brand new labor charge to get fixed what they told me would be serviced during the initial appointment. Service rep told me sorry we don’t have our diesel mechanic here and didn’t give me a reason for why the tailgate wasn’t fixed. No one asked if I wanted to even schedule another appointment. Finally after standing there for a while the younger gal behind the service counter told her co-worker they should at least get me rescheduled. I believe she felt bad that my truck had not been fixed. Previously had great service with this company. We’ve purchased 3 cars through them because they have fair pricing and we’re easy to deal with. Lately it seems like they are just not that concerned with customer satisfaction

This issue was finally resolved after three attempts. I will have to say that Nick the Service Manager was absolutely fabulous. He listened to my concerns, I showed him pictures of the leak that was still present after the second attempt. He was very sorry for how the leak was handled and mentioned he was going to have another technician perform the work. I cant say enough of how well Nick managed this third attempt to fix the leak. I did tell him I will keep checking for any leaks and he was so gracious and said please do and if you find let him know.Update: Ill have to say the leak is has been fixed. I recently purchased a used diesel truck. Having close ties to the Thompson dealership, I felt confident I would be taken care of here. I thought wrong. I purchased a heavy duty truck with an Allison transmission, specifically for the known durability. Although this truck is used, with a significant amount of mileage, I was assured it passed their “in depth inspections”, and had a bunch of maintenance preformed prior to my purchase. In under 1000 miles and less than 2.5 months later my transmission went completely out. After a short period of going back and forth with the dealer, they agreed to cover a portion of the cost. I feel they should have covered the entire thing. There is no way this just slipped through the cracks.More recently, I discovered a bolt on the ground where I park. I climb under to investigate and have found multiple places bolts were not replaced where they were clearly present on the OE transmission. Pure non sense and laziness all around on Thompson’s if you ask me. I wouldn’t do business there again.

I contacted the dealership to purchase a new 2021 truck and trade in my old truck. The salesman made it easy by watching for me and coming outside wearing a mask as I pulled up. That was impressive considering COVID. The truck I was interested in was sitting there ready for me to drive. The test drive went well and I was ready to deal. Within 15-20 min, salesman came back with favorable numbers to complete the deal. Finance was very accommodating and had no issues with redoing the paperwork 3 times as I changed my mind about title naming and the truck I wanted. They had the car for 8 1/2 hours and said they could t find anything, even know they heard it when they test drive it. After the issue was brought to the attention of the right people within the dealership they worked hard to help rectify the issue and insure that my car was returned to full operating condition. The manage I worked with was helpful and kind. I was glad to see that it could be fixed in the way I had expected it to be when I first brought the issue to the attention of the dealership.(Amended)I had to negotiate like crazy with an argumentative sales associate to get a second key in my deal. Dealer never provided second key (deal closed almost 4 months ago). Followed up 3 months later (2 months and 2 weeks after the key was supposed to be delivered) when I really needed second key hoping they had ordered it and just never called. Never ordered and now will take an eternity to get there. I now have no keys and will be waiting at least 7 business days to get any key. I will also have to pay out of packet or use my own roadside to tow my VERY expensive driveway brick to the dealer to get the key programed. I bought a Yukon from them 5 years ago and was excited to come back because of the positive experience I had. Obviously that was a mistake. Argumentative salves person, unhelpful service department and in inept deal closure department that NEVER did its job. This dealership is not the one I bought a car from before. Thompson do your job. Dont withhold waybill items (intentionally or unintentionally) from customers. They are either negotiated parts of the deal or things we have paid for at sale. They are legally ours and getting upset with us about you not doing your job is a nail in the coffin issue for me.I was high pressure sales pitched to provide a positive review of my sales person, let me assure you Victor Cazres this is not that. It is a pandemic economy and Thompsons Buick GMC provided the best service...My wife and I planned to purchase a new truck for months. We knew trucks were in demand. But in the SoCal market we could not find a Dealership or Salesman that were up for the challenge. We were working with brokers. In addition, we were willing to purchase direct from dealer, but had 2 trucks sold out from under us. Time was quickly slipping away.On our 3rd try purchasing thru a dealer, we found our desired truck within 50miles of our location, but ... they refused to hold or sell it to us online or over the phone! When we drove out the same day...it was sold 15minutes prior. They didnt even call us back to tell us. They then offered another truck that they said was the same (save for the color). It was only after financing that we discovered that it was not. It was a short-bed not a standard bed. That night I contacted dozens of dealerships from Seattle, Denver, Boise, Butte and everywhere in between.Kyle Ryan of Thompsons Buick GMC called me back next day, Sunday morning at 10:01am. They were equipped to sell remotely prior to the pandemic. We were under contract within the hour. They then expedited shipment of the vehicle from NorCal to Socal. (Oh, and that other dealer, they could not docusign or overnight paperwork to cancel our transaction. We had to drive back to provide wet signatures!)From Sales to Finance to Delivery ... Thompsons knew the process should be simple and achievable via mobile. Whenever I had a question, they had a direct answer often providing photo or video so I could verify with my own eyes.In the end, all the well-funded, heavily marketed online car vendors and local lots did not have the care or ability to handle such a tough market. At almost 8:00 I was told that my truck is in rotation and would be ready closer to noon. I had to get back to work, so I took their shuttle. This not only left me without my car, I had to return to Thompson’s.What’s not right is, why did I make an appointment and who were the people ahead of me when I come in so early? I called the manager and told him of my trouble to get back to town to get my car and lose more work. He didn’t care...he didn’t care! He kept saying sorry and he would wash my truck. He told me about this 15 point check and they would have needed an hour at least. He offered the shuttle, but I’m unable to do my chores with their shuttle; I wanted my truck. No apologies, no discount for wasting my time and when I picked the truck up, no wash! The manager didn’t even know that I had a truck with a roof rack; I was just a customer...not a girl with a truck and roof rack.I purchased the truck new from Thompson’s. I though making an appointment put me on top of the rotation. I assumed since he offered a wash, my truck would come back washed. The team that provided me service was efficient, professional, and courteous. I required shuttle service to and from work. The communication was excellent. I was notified when my vehicle was ready for pickup, when the shuttle was going to arrive and even received a call to let me know the shuttle was on its way.

I wanted to buy American but to be honest it didnt look good. I researched and visited dealerships for a couple of months. Most dealerships I visited were slim pickings... the stock was just horrible. Then I saw a Thompsons Buick/GMC ad on Facebook that featured a Terrain SLT that checked off most of what I was looking for. I sent off the inquiry on a Friday evening and Kris Hulsing contacted me early the next morning. A couple of hours later I made it to the dealership. The exact vehicle I saw in the ad was parked by the doors when I arrived and not long after Kris met me as I walked in the doors. From my research online... to the sale at the dealership... to the making of the deal (Thanks Alex)... to the financing (Thanks Steve)... to the delivery (thanks Kris) my wife and I were treated with professionalism and a genuine feeling of small-town hospitality that I have never felt before when purchasing a vehicle. This wasnt an easy deal... My wife and I had some challenges with our credit but the team at Thompsons made it happen with ease. You guys are great.

Purchaed this HD Sierra 2500 new six years ago here. Made appointment for oil change (93,000 miles). Later check engine light came on. When I took it for the oil change, I told Chris about the check engine light just coming on if they could please read the code. He said NO that his diesel guy had about 70 hrs. of work to do in front of me, I would need to bring it back. Then as he looks at his computer screen informs me I have some other fluids and items that should be done and asks me if I want to take care of those today...could not spend 10 minutes to get the check engine light code, but had time to do the other maintenance work. I declined that work and told him I would take in to another GMC dealer for that along with getting the check engine light looked at. On paperwork he said I was informed of the check engine light and the need to have it coded, but I refused the service. This service department has gone down hill in the last couple years. No longer open on Saturday. Never enough staff. I have to take time off work for service, I work M-F. When I take it for an oil change it sits in the parking lot for 1:45 before they even start. They dont greet you, they dont smile and they force a thank you when you are done. I have found another service department and will not be returning and I suggest you look elsewhere too.

I was expecting more of a Concierge experience when making a purchase of this amount. I felt rushed out, the sales person who closed my deal was not personable. I negotiated my deal standing up in the lobby. Other than the finance guy, my whole experience was negative. Also, I bought a fully loaded Denali and had to take it home and detail myself??? Was not a good car buying experience....

Everyone was just wonderful, the dealership is clean and friendly with great coffee, and Ed Cerepak, (our sales consultant) was really on the ball and found us just what we wanted. We had been to many different dealerships in California and Nevada, but Ed was the one who came through for us. Shady dealership. Mark-ups and greedy salesmen. I know they need to make money, but they told me if I financed through GMC, they wouldnt charge me $3000 mark-up. If I use my own pre-approval, it would be a $2000 mark-up!

Im from the Bay Area and was in the market for a new or used Chevy Suburban. I engaged a few dealers, traditional and online, and Thompsons had a great selection and pricing.
