The food was good but the female waiter was the worst. At first, she cut us off while talking and was very short with us while ordering. Worst service Ive ever had.

So, its an old school burger joint with comfy diner booths and sweet, scatterbrained waitresses. Dont come here if youre in a rush.Food is greasy but, mostly, in a good way. Fries are basic but you can dress them up with the AWESOME condiment tray (see picture). Ask for mayo. Portions are big!This place is perfect for watching sports/ football with their beer picher specials and huge viewing screen. They have a few draft beer options and plenty of domestic options as well as tasty milkshakes and root beer floats.They have a tiny arcade section with a billiard table in the back. Huge parking lot.I threw everything up later that night BUT it was probably a new medication I was on and the huge beer I forced myself to consume.

Friday is 1/2 off on appetizers so that was cool but, it was salty so 4 stars and not 5. I honestly would also prefer onion rings over the chicken pieces for a bigger variety. Oh yeah, Im talking about the sampler platter. The garlic bread was BOOOOOOOOOMB and I think they make theyre own croutons which were equally as scrumptious. Soup was bland. Burgers were good, nothing superb but way better than any fast food joint. They also bring a tray of condiments to your table which I loved. A tub of pickles, another of onions, one of relish and lastly one of peppers. Service was excellent!

We originally went in, because of the reviews and it showed it was on the low price range... not the case. It cost $40 for two adults and a childs drink. I was honestly so taken aback by the price. If we didnt have our young kids with us, we would have just left. The food is noo where near the price tag. Honestly its bowling alley quality. I would have been happier eating for half price at a Wendys or for the full price at Stacked. $3 for a single glass of soda. No fries included with their burgers. Ooofta!That being said, Weevil Burger is very family friendly aside from the price. The restaurant is very roomy. The food came in a timely manner.

One of San Diegos homespun eateries once again proved to be one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy the best burger in town.I had a coupon for a free 2nd entree so I ordered 2 half pounders. It was Friday so the appetizers were half price. We split a huge sampler plate, chicken breast tenders, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, cheese quesadillas, and jalapeno poppers. My son ordered euros. Draft beer was also half price.Hella good time I recommend to everyone.

I go to this restaurant quite often, they have amazing food and great service. The servers are always extremely nice and it seems like they thoroughly enjoy their job. I cant think of any negatives about this restaurant and I would highly recommend it. I usually get the ¼ pound special for $12 which comes with a burger, fries, and a drink. Over all, I highly recommend.

Burgers with a side of southern hospitality. This restaurant has a super cozy feel with a huge open floor. Our waitress was awesome great recommendations and just a sweet heart. The restaurant was super clean with the cliche booths and a tiny arcade.

This used to be called The Bowl Weevil which was a good local burger and beer chain here in San Diego. Sadly, the corporation went bankrupt but luckily this franchisee just slightly changed the name and stayed in business. They have a great half pound burger and beer deal for $12 and that includes every topping you want.

A few years ago I passed by this restaurant & got excited to take my kids. Once I looked it up online I realized that it was not a Boll Weevil. I decided to not even take the chance of being disappointed. Well, today we finally went in & WERE NOT disappointed. The 1/2 lb Steer burger was amazing! It tasted comparable to Fuddruckers/Boll Weevil. The restaurant is clean with a nice atmosphere. I overheard another customer that was having a Chicken Philly Sandwich raving about that too. Excited to try that next time. Cherry on top was we went on a Wednesday which is a day that kids under 10 eat for free. Great experience eating here.

I drove 270 miles (round trip) to have a cheeseburger, fries and a root beer. Since I live out of EL Cajon I visit when I return to the area. This was one of my favorite places for a cheeseburger, fries and a beer. Also to watch a ball or football game. Hope to see you soon.

Been going to this location off and on since I was a kid. Burgers are tasty and so are sandwiches. The prices can be high on some items, but overall not too bad. They have multiple daily specials that can help with the cost of going out. They have multiple games in the back and a coin machine.

As someone who’s lived close to La Mesa for more than 20 years, I REALLY wanted to love this place… unfortunately, it was disappointing. I went and seated myself and asked the waitress to give me a couple minutes to order since I’ve never been here…. She proceeded to leave me alone for almost 20 minutes. I was about 30 seconds away from getting up when she finally came and took my order… I’m not sure if it was intentional or an oversight but it felt passive aggressive, especially since it wasn’t busy at all. A plus is that the food came quickly- I got a guacamole burger and fries and the burger was ok… the guac was a tiny spoonful of mashed avocado with no seasoning, so that was disappointing. However, the patty itself was flavorful and having an entire condiment tray given at the table was a plus since you had everything you needed. All that said, I will give this place another try and hope it’s better the second time around!

This place is moderately priced for a burger joint. Ther burger is very good, the condiment tray is cool. The Texas cheese fries were so-so. The cheese sauce was the part that wasnt that great. The brownie sundae called the chocolate moo wouldve been great if there wouldve been more than 2 1/2 bites of brownie. When I told the waitress that I didnt care for the fries she became salty for the rest of our visit. I never asked for my money back or anything but she was salty anyways. Oh well, well try a different time of day.

2nd year that the staff held a reservation for me to be able to host our annual Christmas party. Its decent. What can I say. The beer flows cheaply durring happy hour which is why most will come. Over the years they have adapted to the five guys style of pricing, no combos unless its chicken or kids meals. A burger and fries will run you 20 bucks a person. Although the fires are big enough to share. The decor is dated and you really get the early 90s cafeteria style feel as soon as you walk in.

Some of the best service around. The first local restaurant I have been to since moving to San Diego that is actually good. Food is fantastic, everything, including the beer, is reasonably priced. My biggest complaint about here is the group of parents that were here let their kids run wild and the staff didn’t say anything about it. There is something uncomfortable about a bunch of 8-10 year old running around with pool sticks, acting roudy as their parents drink away at pitchers of beer.

The people who work here are rude!!!! They close at 9pm my friend and I walked in at 830pm and the works just looked at us until it was about 850pm or 855pm. They said they was closed almost in a laughing way. The people who was working there totally messed my night up. So judging on the works at weevil burger there food must be terrible because the people serving it are terrible. And I am going to tell everyone I work with to make sure they dont eat here!!!

The service was incredible with Heidi as our waitress. We come on Fridays for the gyros and 1/2 price chicken wings. Well we were shocked when Heidi saw us walk in and put our order in before we sat down. Incredible..I cant believe she remembered our order. We had only been there twice when she did this. We have always enjoyed the Weevil. They do a great job with the simple food they serve, and they manage to reproduce the shabbiness of downmarket 70s style dining. Which is kind of unappreciated these days. Lots of older people and young families eat here. It is the kind of place that knows what it is, and the customers know what it is, so nobody has grandiose expectations. So it just kind of works, sans any pretense, mission statements, televisual menus, Apps, buzzers and cloying graphic design of newer chains. Refreshing really.

Great place for families! They have some games and 2 pool tables. 3 TVs for some sports viewing. The have great daily specials but the best is on Sunday; kids 10 years and under eat for free! Two kids per adult entree! Great deal with great food. The classic steerburger still rules but they have great variety in the menu. They would have gotten 5 stars but the fries and onion rings could be a little better- they are still good but need to go up a notch for the 5th star. Go check it out!

I ordered over the phone for takeout, I wanted a fish sandwich and a regular hamburger with an order of frings, when I went to go pick it up the girl told me it was $37, I don’t mind paying for food but she completely missed led me and got the entire order messed up, She did not tell me that you have to order the fish sandwich with fries otherwise I wouldn’t of got the frings, then on the hamburger she gave me the largest hamburger and put cheese on it I originally told her a regular hamburger with lettuce and tomato. being that we don’t eat a lot of fries I had her take out the frings and didn’t notice the larger hamburger and cheese on it until I already was home, The girl that took my order is not the brightest apple on the tree she had the personality of a piece of paper and I will never be there again I asked her with the fish sandwich can you make the fries with onion rings she said absolutely no substitutions, I will no longer go to this particular bowl weevil I will only go to the one in Lakeside where they treat you and greet you nicely, Find another bowl weevil and enjoy this one looks like they just wanna charge for everything

I liked the Weevil Burger. It was like the old Boll Weevil and had my favorite Honey Blasted Chicken in the Basket. The side salad was nice and fresh just like my lunches from 15 years ago.
