The museum looks very inconspicuous and small from the outside. Once inside, I found it to be very full and substantial.The exhibits include various pictures, videos, audios, models, souvenirs, and lifelike documentaries, which help us fully understand the presidents life. His political career, his contribution to the United States, his love for the people, his loyalty to his family, everything moved me. I saw the house where the president was born and went inside to take a look.Although many of the houses have been maintained, the general structure still maintains the decorations from 1912. I really appreciate the layout of everything and the staff are also very dedicated. Everything is so perfect.I think this trip is very worthwhile. Quiet, real, like this land.

I had not previously visited a presidential library. This was a good place to start. The library was very educational and gave some intimate views into the life of Richard Nixon. I was impressed with his familys humble beginnings and his rise to the presidency. The library itself is very modern and well done with modern displays and visuals. Fortunately, Richard Nixons boyhood home is right next door and it is a great glimpse into the era. Tour of the home is included in the price of admission.

The RN Library & Birthplace is a must for people that love history. The docents at this museum are dedicated, kind, professional, and helpful. The Oval Office replica is amazing. Theres even a replica of the East Room. I find the childhood home most moving of all. Theyve preserved the original furnishings.

My first time visit. The main reason was to attend an Artism Foundation Exhibition at one of the halls. The garden was amazing. I had wanted to see this library for years and I was favorably impressed. It would have been nice to be able to walk through Marine One, but just seeing it up close was an enjoyable first for me. The museum content seems to fairly reflect the good and the controversial, and like all presidential libraries, there is a LOT to take in, so allow plenty of time. Being able to engage with the surroundings of the Oval Office was also a nice first since usually you are only allowed to view this kind of political sacred ground from behind the velvet ropes.

Love this place. It is full of history, and the rose garden is delightful and peaceful. Went to see the special exhibit Portraits of Courage by George W. Bush. Wonderful exhibit and worth seeing. ❤️

The concert was absolutely amazing and filled with so much emotion! It was an incredible experience for my friends because it was their very first string quartet performance. They were completely blown away and couldnt find the words to express how they felt. Let me tell you, the Richard Nixon museum venue was the perfect choice for this show. It added an extra layer of charm and made the whole concert even more special. I can confidently say that it was one of the most beautiful and emotional concerts Ive ever been to!

My friend found this event on the Fever app. My friends and I wound up going to the Candlelight concert with the orchid quartet playing tribute songs of Taylor Swift. We had a total blast! If you never been to a classical candlelight concert surrounded by candlelights with your favorite music artists played by the orchid quartet, I highly recommend you check them out. The orchid quartet is music to my ears. I would totally go to their concerts in the years ahead. Thank you for making this night a memorable experience!

I really enjoyed the Candlelight tribute with Taylor Swift. I like the way they set up with the performers in the center, giving everyone, even with the low priced seats a good view of performers. The Richard Nixon Library is beautiful and with the candles set all around was absolutely breathtaking. Would love to do this again at this venue since its convenient, simple parking and easy to get to.

I had the incredible opportunity to photograph a heartwarming wedding at the Richard Nixon Library and Museum, and it was nothing short of magical. We attended the Vivaldi concert, and it was absolutely beautiful! It was a perfect date night. The musicians are incredibly talented and gave a lovely performance. We will definitely be attending more of the other concerts. Highly, highly recommend this series.

Very interesting to learn about President Nixon and his trials and tribulations. Yeah, Watergate is there as it’s unavoidable, but this museum takes a multifaceted view at Richard Nixon as a man and as the president of the United States. It shows him as the progressive politician and diplomat that he was as well as the mistakes he made. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something to do in the area.

Very nice museum. Easily accessible. There is a replica of the Oval Office. There is campaign memorabilia, displays about traveling to China (which was a world-changing event at the time), and displays about Watergate. The museum also featured a limited-run exhibit, titled Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chiefs Tribute to Americas Warriors, which showed some of President George W. Bushs paintings of wounded warriors. The First Ladys Garden was in full bloom. There are 2,500 roses, water features, and plenty of other types of flowers in the garden. Its a very peaceful and serene garden. It is spectacular and the fragrance was lovely.

My second visit to a presidential library. Nixons colorful history with his groundbreaking cultural diplomatic visit to China, ending the Vietnam War, and the infamous Watergate Scandal. Taking the opportunity to tour Nixons childhood home on the library grounds, seeing a lifesize replica of the Presidential Oval Office, walking along the beautiful gardens, and immersing myself with the historical exhibits were great experiences. I admired how Nixons demise with the Watergate scandal were presented in great detail and accuracy.

The Richard Nixon Library and Museum is one of my favorite places in Orange County. All exhibitions are informative. I was able to learn a lot about Nixon’s presidency, incredible life and family. The rose garden and the garden area around his birthplace home are beautiful and peaceful. Im so happy I was able to marry at this gorgeous place. I had to postpone my wedding for two years because of Covid. My husband and I decided to marry 8/14/22. The staff was incredible and professional. I want to thank Cierra Lane, Keviann Dennison, Marissa, Amy and all the staff that help and supported us in creating this important event. We had our wedding ceremony at the rose garden, and we were able to take photos at the helicopter, oval office exhibition and around the property. This place is a great venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

A hidden gem! Who wouldve known Richard Nixon accomplished so much such as founding the EPA, signing the Clean Air and Water Act, and ending the Vietnam War! The list goes way beyond the three point I made. Before the museum I only knew Nixon for Watergate, afterwards, I know even more about Watergate, but I also know a lot of great things Nixon did. In my opinion, this is the most informative and opinion shifting presidential library. Showing both the malevolence and benevolence within Richard NixonDefinitely recommend!

My expectations were kind of low for this visit, but I came away feeling like this was a very worthwhile experience. My biggest concern was that the whole Watergate affair would be whitewashed or minimized. It wasnt. There is an entire room dedicated to the matter and his staff farewell address on a loop on one of the displays. I knew there was, what I assumed, was model of his boyhood home on the grounds. Its not a model, its the actual home that his father built and the museum sits on the site of their orchard that was established in the early 1900s. A lot of the furnishings and accessories are also authentic as his mother had the wherewithal put their belongings in storage when the family relocated. They also have *the* helicopter that he boarded on the day he left the Whitehouse after the resignation.

Surprisingly amazing! Really well thought out attention to details, highly interactive exhibits (some with mesmerizing advanced integrative technology), lots to see and explore, and overall classy vibe.Highlights Nixons life pretty fairly. He did sink to some pretty detrimental lows, but as he said himself, Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain. That pretty much summarizes how the museum portrayed him. They presented a detailed timeline of Nixons demise and how he went from running an epic first term to the Watergate scandal to his road to recovery and subsequent legacy. Some might have a hard time reconciling the awesome parts with the shady parts, but admission was reasonable and we felt like we got our moneys worth with all the informative and tasteful exhibits. 😊P. S. If youre a panda fan, you might find it highly interesting how we ended up getting pandas in the US, thanks to Pat Nixon and Chinese government officials! 😁 (See the panda pic I included for full details.)

Time helps us understand history. The Nixon Presidential Library helps us all put the past into perspective. The story of some of the most turbulent times in our Nations history is very well told here.Obviously Watergate, is told in detail, as are such milestones as the return of Americas Vietnam POWs, the negotiated peace and exit from Vietnam, and Nixons leadership in environmental and worker protection, and greater integration of our races and genders.As a male born in 1972 I knew only part of the story. I knew each of the events but had never had their interconnections drawn. I failed to see the diplomat he was as a President and the elder statesman he had become after his Presidency.I am so glad we came here. I would not recommend it for people under the age of about 15 because there is just a lot to absorb but I will definately be returning because there is still more for me to take in. The museum is very well curated and the docents are incredible.Oh and where else can you sit behind the Presidents desk in an exact replica of the Oval Office?

Plus his legacy is such a complicated one that having a way to walk through it is so helpful. Especially loved that the site is the very place he was born adds such a balance to his life. Place was great, interesting museum with details about Nixons life, presidency, and actions. There is a theater that plays a video, a small shop, the interiir museum, the outside garden with a water pool, garden, outside theater (for weddings), and if you walk further theres the birthplace house where there is constant tours, and a psthway to the helicopter.

A tourist attraction in Yorba Linda worth a visit. The presidential libraries system is a nationwide network of 15 libraries administered by the Office of Presidential Libraries, which is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). These are repositories for preserving and making available the papers, records, collections and other historical materials of every president of the United States.So at the Nixon library, there are exhibits showing the historical events during Nixon’s presidency. Nixon was credited for opening China. There is huge poster with life size bronze status of president Nixon and China’s then premier zhou shaking hand.For those of you that are interested in finding out more about the Cold War, many unclassified documents disclosed a lot of interesting intense moments between Russia and the West.Nixon’s presidential helicopter is also on display on the side yard of the library. It’s cool to see the inside of this flying machine. I thought it would be more plush.It’s a bit of a drive for me to get there but it was worth it to visit at a piece of history in person.

We had a great time at the Nixon Library and Birthplace. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. All of the staff and volunteers are very nice and have tons of historical knowledge about President Nixon and his family. I definitely recommend watching the opening film (approximately 15 minutes) - it gives a great overview of Nixons life and his entire political career. The video correlates with the overall layout of the library, as well.The library does a great job walking through each year, major event, and/or crisis of the Nixon presidency - and his life leading up to and after his presidency.A few fun thing to do:Visit the home President Nixons father built and the family lived in for 10 years. The house sits on its original property, and many of the articles inside are originals.Visit the Marine One helicopter. President Nixon took his last flight on this Marine One helicopter following his resignation from office. You can enter the helicopter but cannot take photos.Lastly, purchase a Presidential Library passport in the gift shop and get it stamped. And take it to all of your future presidential library visits!

Everyone who was born from the 1950s on should see the site. Had a good time with the family here on a Sunday after 🎄🎅🤶. The intro video at the beginning was worth watching after you pay for admission 🎟️. Make sure you leave your pepper spray, guns🔫, and knives 🔪 at home. Price of admission was worth the value💲. The museum really highlighted the great things Nixon contributes to building America. Well balanced between his early childhood, law career, politics to his last days. Well organized. His childhood home 🏘️ tour was the highlight of his humble beginnings. Helicopter was not open. Had a few roses in bloom not too far from his tombstone and his wifes. Staff were very engaging and friendly. Glad the museum also highlighted some of the bombings that occurred in Cambodia. But, it did miss the amount of Khmer who suffered horrible amputations and death from US landmines and unexploded bombs. Approximately 2.8 tons of explosives 💣 were dropped compared to 2 tons during WWII according to Bombs Over Cambodia 🇰🇭 by Taylor Owen and Ben Kiernan.

We came for a large company Christmas luncheon. It is a nice facility with a large banquet hall decorated to 19th century decor. Felt like you were in the presidential ball room. The food was really good with good service at our tables. Beautiful decorations at Christmas time with a nice Christmas tree.

Although not as grand as the other presidential libraries it is nevertheless the most interesting. They have expanded the place and included information about the Watergate scandal. The museum also gave a proper tribute and honor to Sen. John McCain. That is very nice of them. Id really like to go back here again.

Came here for a wedding this weekend. the garden area (outdoor reception) was very pretty and perfect weather on a january afternoon. the ballroom reception area is very grand with good sound system and ample room for dancing. servers were polite and helpful. food was alright (i think it was dc caterers?) we were allowed to walk around the library from 4-5pm during the cocktail hours.

Richard Nixon was a complicated man and president. He accomplished a great many things, but is really only remembered for a small scandal that was blown way out of proportion. This museum shows the man behind the slander. The man who did what he thought was best for the US. after coming here I have a new appreciation for President Nixon. For me, this is one of the more interesting of the presidential libraries. But then again, for better or worse, Nixon was one of the more interesting presidents. The museum has the normal things that a presidential library museum has, but it was built on the grounds of his birthplace, which is one of the highlights of the compound. However, to me, the most exciting piece on the grounds is he helicopter that was Marine One on the day that Nixon left the White House. While you cant take photos inside, you can take one standing at the top of the stairs flashing the victory sign like he did the final time that he boarded it.

A compelling, one of a kind museum! Visiting this museum definitely transformed my perspective on Richard Nixon. Regardless of your political views, this museum provides personal and family history. He was more than just a Watergate Scandal. There is an re-creation of the Oval Office to resemble the White House. Outside, there is a garden with absolutely breath-taking view and has Nixons original house that he grew up in. In addition, there is also an actual Marine helicopter he has used. If history isnt your cup of tea, I do not recommend you to visit as the exhibits revolve a timeline of Richard Nixon. Regardless, you should come with an open mind filled with curiosity!

The library is one of the nicest I have been to, and its inclusion of Nixons actual birthplace was very interesting. Milhous was a dynamic leader whose accomplishments have been overshadowed by one moment in time. He provided consultation and advice to Reagan, both of the Bushs and Clinton. A large and wonderfully complete library. It includes a full description of Nixons early life, college and his many political tribulations. Highlights include white house events, a replica of the oval office, meeting Elvis and his checkers speech and campaign memorabilia.There is an extensive section on his trip to China, the Vietnam War as well as Watergate. Its all comprehensive and gives full details of many things that were not publicly know during his presidency.Theres a separate exhibit (included) that has a detailed story about the moon shot complete with many interesting artifacts. Dont miss the replica of the white house ball room.The grounds include marine one, which you can tour, and the house that he lived in as a child.

Since the renovation in 2016, the library museum has been given a fresh makeover and has added many interactive exhibits. Its not as large as the Reagan museum library in Simi Valley; but nonetheless, it is more compelling. Granted, Watergate is what comes to mind when one thinks of the Nixon administration; but the well (and in my humble opinion, balanced) presented exhibits challenges that misconception. The enigma that is Richard Nixon is complicated and the library museum certainly depicts just that. Contrary to the larger Reagan library museum that is overtly skewed to just the loyalist and the converted, the Nixon library museum presents all aspects of his life and political journey. The exhibit on the Watergate debacle is not only astonishing but gives one pause on how fragile a democracy can be. Unfortunately, this is a lesson we have not heeded well.

Went yesterday for the Apollo 11 exhibit. I had my mom and grandmother with me. It was awesome to learn how so much of Southern California had a hand in making this mission possible. I especially loved the fact that my mom kept finding things behind the glass, that they had owned at that time, even down to a little green ashtray that belonged to my grandma! My grandmother has dementia. She may not remember what happened 10 minutes ago, but if it was years ago; shell remember. This whole exhibit put a huge smile on her face, and that made me happy as well. Thank you so much, Ill definitely return.

Beautiful venue. Garden is really nice as you can see in the pics. I was the dj for a wedding here. The banquet hall does echo a bit. The annoying part was the security guards have to be by each door, so they make it a bit hard to load if they get busy. Overall, the staff was pretty cool and friendly.

I will admit up front that I did not have high expectations for visiting this presidential library/museum. Nixon was not a favorite of mine, and I well remember his presidency as one marred by scandal, even though I was just a young teenager.However, I have now visited it, and within the context of time passed, as well as having visited each of the presidential libraries that the National Archives operates, I can say a few things about the Richard Nixon one, which I visited in mid-September 2023:This presidential library deals in more or less honest and straightforward fashion with the mans complex nature, and has a very detailed account of the Watergate scandal, in which Richard Nixon does not come out looking too good. It does demonstrate how he was clearly a victim of his own insecurities, perhaps built up over a lifetime of perceived slights. Yet, this is well balanced by his great achievements, such as the opening to China, and some major environmental legislation (which will come as a surprise to many). And those are only to name two.The library and museum are set within a neighborhood, right where Nixon was born, in fact. And there is a certain modesty about that, in contrast to several of the other presidential libraries, which have more dramatic settings. Being nestled within his hometown is perhaps in keeping with some elements of the mans personality.I will say, to my own surprise, that, of all the presidential libraries/museums that I have visited (and, as I say, I have been to all of them now), this one is actually my personal favorite. It comes across as well curated, honest (not hagiographic), and giving a great historical overview of the life and times of the man as well as the context of the American and world scene. I highly recommend this presidential library and museum to everyone who is interested in American history and the presidency.

We loved the President Day events. It was half off and they had actors dress up as old presidents. They let you take pictures with them. They had FDR on a real horse. We can see Nixons childhood home. They had a piece of the Berlin wall. My only complaint is I wish they a cafeteria or place to buy food. They only had a very small stand with coffee and very little options.

Unfortunately because of the Trump Admin Shutdown, 50% of this place is closed. I will have to return on a later date. I still got to see some of the sights like the helicopter but it was closed. The guides still offered tours of his home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The fountain and flower gardens are still open for viewing. Overall, a very great place to visit to learn the history of Nixon and the USA.

Recently refurbished and remodeled, my third POTUS library. Very neat did not know he traveled to China and USSR being the Regan Library portrays Ron as the world traveler yet Dick went to these communist countries!!! Plus you have the house he was born and learn about how he lost and lost yet never stopped until the tapes. Also he is the true native son of California as Ron was born in Illinois. Dicks wife had the Oval Office carpet ocean blue with the drapes being the golden color for the famous hills of our state. His brother, one of 5, is still alive and in his 80s and visits the grounds often.

Excellent experience. We went on Presidents Day, and the line stretched from the front door, all the way to the helicopter. There was free cherry pie, presidential character actors, a concert by the Air Force Band, and many docents. The parking lot was filled, but theres ample parking across the street. Exhibits were very informative, and great to discover. We will go back on a less busy day.

(But we saw a pretty good sized line when we were leaving at 2p).Theres an audio tour you can download before you arrive. Its pretty neat to see the Presidents birthplace, burial site, and helicopter all next to each other. I also liked the oval office. All in all very lively and hands on.But to hear the docent say that his part in Watergate was merely not telling as not to get his staff in trouble was annoying. I did not have the guts to speak up as not to embarrass my daughter (I am not known for diplomacy or politeness) but I so wanted to ask why Nixon had to mess up our health care system (before him it was illegal to make profits in healthcare). Oh well.

Pretty thorough encapsulation of his time in office. I recommend you start with film before you wander through the museum. It was upfront with Watergate and then went on to hit his accomplishments. Nixons presidency spanned many important points in my own life. I was 19 when I got drafted in 1971, and although I wasnt sent to Vietnam, my older brother was there during TET in 1968 in the central highlands at Pleiku. I was so appreciative that Nixon, in the end, fought for and got a peace with honor. I remembered from the tour all his remarkable accomplishments. I saw them happen in real time. To most Americans Watergate was not a big issue. The museum lets you decide. I think the museum covered all these matters pretty well. Its a great way to look at where our nation leadership was and how time and relativism has impacted the leaders our country has produced since. Eye opening to say the least!

I visited this beautiful museum late this morning. The grounds are amazing. After leaving, I realized I was not charged the senior amount but the regular adult admission. Additionally, the woman at the front was beyond scattered and kept apologizing over and over again for getting things wrong. I was also told that the Nixon family home was open and I waited over a half hour in the heat for a docent and nobody showed up. I did enjoy my visit, mostly for the amazing buildings and the groomed grounds. I tried to purchase my ticket on the website but alas, after many tries with different cards, the system was not working.

The Library is nicely laid out. The music and pictures in some of the exhibits were a bit too busy for me, leaving it hard to concentrate. I also thought the security was watching people too much, I guess because its a federal building. But the parts I did like was that his birth house is there and the garden was designed so nicely. Things I did not know was Nixons involvement in cancer research and how active he was womens rights. He was a very intelligent man. Even at his worst he probably had more intellect than the presidents of the last 30 years.

We are in the process of visiting all the presidential museums, and we are only half done, but this one is excellent. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. I was surprised that his birthplace and childhood home is such pristine condition, with almost all the original furnishings. Friendly, helpful staff.

Very impressive. Enough time has passed so the initial white wash of the events has been removed and a more truthful story is presented. Wonderful description of his life prior to the election and the achievements of his presidency. Very detailed descriptions of his crimes and how he left office. Finally, his life after the presidency until his death. It is great to see the house where he spent his childhood and the presidential helicopter. This is a fraction of the size of the Reagan library, but I liked the feel of the information as how it was presented. Fine special exhibit of the Apollo 11 mission. Free parking; no restaurant on site, but many in the area. Great staff for the most part, but it was very hard to understand one of them. We just redid the house tour with another as they constantly rotate their stations throughout the day.

Enjoyed my visit. Ill state right off the worst part was a couple members of the staff. We were shood out right at 5. We were in the Bookstore making purchases, but that didnt stop the rudeness. It was a poor way to end our experience. There is a lot of great history that kids and adults are not taught in school. People have taken a moment in history that they dont know (Watergate) and believe what they have been taught by the media and biased educators. Ask anyone what they know about Nixon and its Watergate, and they dont know anything else. We have presidents in the past 30 years who have all done worse things, but the country doesnt care, or are not aware. Nixon would not have been forced to resign today. This was one of 2 presidents to win 49 states in an election. He signed into law: Title IX, EPA, OSHA, and did more for minorities than any previous president, but most of you have no clue. If you didnt know any of that, then shame on you and your biased educators, and the media. Was he flawed? Yes. Find a recent president who was not.

This place is well organized and managed! The staff is warm and welcoming. They are full of knowledge. Very clean and peaceful place to visit and to even relax. There isn’t an actual library, but an archive. I especially liked the outdoor setting with the actual home of Nixon and the gardens.Minus one star, because I realized this place isn’t a smoke free zone. So people who work there even smoke outdoors near the pool area. This was very disappointing cause I brought my child with me and she had to experience secondhand smoke.Other than that I found this place to be a delightful experience. Free parking and lots of parking space. The admission fee is $16 for adults, $6 for children 5 to 11, and free for kids 4 and under.

This was so much fun! The rich history of anything Ive seen. Seeing his birthplace the room he was delivered was def once in a lifetime memories. The Oval Office was amazing. Just so many preserved pieces and flawless achievements. Nixons achievements will always overwhelm his mistakes. It was so cool, see pieces of history.
