My daughter had a shoe fitting last week when Josephine was visiting our local studio in S. Oregon. My daughter has had some struggle with fittings in the past, with past fittings running quite long. Josephine asked all the right questions and very quickly zoned in on my daughters particular issues, making sure the new shoes were beautiful, but also the right support for her high arches and flexible ankles. We really enjoyed the experience. The fact that we didnt have to drive 2 hours to Eugene or Redding was an added bonus! We would gladly drive though to work with her again.
My daughter is 12 and has been on Pointe for 5 months. She has a very flexible foot that has been troublesome finding the right shoe. Josephine was amazing today during her fitting. She was able to recognize an issue that we weren’t aware of. We can not wait to receive the shoes she suggested and have another session with her. All and all a phenomenal experience.
We had a fitting with Josephine at the Eugene Ballet Academy. It was fantastic. Josephine easily supported some terrible my daughter was having due to her toe pads and found a fix, then put her in Pointe shoes that she is still gushing about hours later. We have had several fittings elsewhere and this was by far the best experience. Worth it!!!

Its always an easy experience to get my daughter fitted for pointe shoes with Josephine. Shes very helpful and ask questions about how the shoes fit. She also keeps notes from the previous fitting to check if there is a better shoe. All in all, she very professional and pleasant.

Josephine was great! We set up out appointment and it took 15 minutes for my daughter to get fitted with pointe shoes. She was able to assess if my daughters foot slipped or how strong of glue she needed. Also she has very narrow feet and she helped us get the proper pads we needed to support her toes. I was emailed a receipt of my purchases and everything was accounted for. I will see her again to get my second daughter fitted and for future fittings and pointe shoes.
I found Josephine and The Pointe Shop from her youtube channel, and I felt very confident in her abilities to fit me as an adult coming back to pointe after many years. She fixed the issues she saw in my old shoes, and my new ones feel like a dream. I have difficult to fit feet: my big toe is longest, and the toes taper down from there. My heel is exceptionally narrow. My arches could be higher. Josephine picked great shoes for me from a brand Id never before tried. They are great! Because the fit is so much better than with all the prior pointe shoes Ive tried, I feel these shoes will give me much more ability to have beautiful nuances in my dancing. Josephine had exactly the shoes, ribbons, and elastics I need in stock, and I bought them at the fitting. I just worked out in my new pointe shoes today. I am so impressed with these Pointe Shop fittings. This is our second fitting with the Pointe Shop. Previously we had been fit at two different dance stores and each time the pointe shoes ended up being a poor choice for my dancer. Her feet grew over the summer and she needed to be re-fit before the Pointe Shop could come, so we drove an hour away to what is supposed to be one of the best dance stores in our state for fittings. She ended up with a shoe that she was very excited about, but was too narrow for her foot and caused significant pain every time that she danced. The shoe was also not appropriate for how strong her feet are and it broke almost immediately. She was so disappointed because she pays for her own pointe shoes and $100 is a lot of money for a 13-year-old.We were so pleased to have yet another point shoe fitting with Josephine yesterday. She was so incredibly professional, my daughter felt super special because Josephine seemed to remember her from her fitting a year ago. Despite a less than ideal fitting circumstance due to covid and other restrictions, my daughter walked out with shoes that fit her perfectly. Josephine knew immediately what shoe she needed and how to adapt the shoe because my daughter had only grown a half size and needed a little something extra to create the perfect fit. We have been ordering my daughter’s pointe shoes from The Pointe Shop for 2 years. We live in a small rural town and do not have access to pointe shoes anywhere near us. The Pointe Shop has been a valuable resource offering both virtual fittings and with Josephine traveling. The Pointe Shop has really looked at my daughter as an athlete even recommending a physical therapist that specializes in dancers for a reoccurring problem. Josephine offers a unique and very personalized fitting session. She listens to the dancer, goes over every detail, and takes every step necessary to fit the right shoe. My daughter has been struggling finding the right shoe. We have been to nothing short of 6 different shops. The last fitting resulted in an ill fitting shoe that made her bunions swell to twice their size. There I often the attitude that the dancer just needs to suffer rather than trying to actually fit them. Some fitters want to be right more than they want their customer to be comfortable and confident. Not so with Josephine. She is committed to making sure the dancer is happy and comfortable. I have been fitted by GG and Josephine both have been really great experiences. I was nervous at first about doing a virtual fitting but it was really in depth. Josephine is an excellent fitter who we have been going to since my daughter started on pointe a few years ago! She always takes her time and will keep trying different shoes and padding to ensure the right fit. Along with excellent service, she is super organized and always has such a friendly and positive attitude. Furthermore, Josephine remembers my daughter even if it has been a while in between visits. We have fitted both in-studio when she is traveling and at the Oakland store location. The Oakland store is located just off the freeway in a clean and quiet area. During Covid, we booked a couple of appointments in-store. Oakland is about a 40 minute drive for us, but well worth it! It is critical for a dancer to have proper fitting pointe shoes and Josephine clearly has lots of experience. I highly recommend The Pointe Shop for anyone who is looking for a good fitter!

My daughter got her first pair of pre pointe shoes from the pointe shop after a fitting from Josephine when she came to our hometown dance studio. Covid happened and my daughter Grew out of her shoes and needed new ones before her recital. We were able to do a virtual fitting which was amazing considering we live in Wisconsin and the shop isn’t. Everyone has been super nice and knowledgeable. Josephine was great she immediately was able to spot issues with the pointe shoes I got fitted for at a different shop. My shoes were pulling me back, shoe was too big and hard. She also noticed I favor my left foot over my right. She was so nice about everything and stated shes going to put me in a different brand altogether and when I receive them I can do another virtual fitting to see how they do. I 100% recommend the pointe shop. Update: I had my second virtual appointment to see how the pointe shoes fit on me. Im absolutely amazed how well the shoes fit me! I didnt feel any jamming pain in my big toe anymore, the shoe is an overall better fit from my old shoes, Im so glad I decided to do the virtual fitting with the pointe shop
We were a little nervous about a virtual appointment for a fitting but knew if anyone could do it, Josephine could. And, she didn’t disappoint! The pointe shoes came directly from the manufacturer and had a defect, which she was able to promptly replace. She took the time discuss placement of the elastics for additional support as well. Sabine sewed up her pointe shoes and has danced on them already a few times. What a difference. Melissa was also great at answering my emails. Getting the right fit is so important! Both of my daughters were ready to be fitted for their first pair of pointe shoes and when we couldn’t make it to the fittings by Josephine at their ballet school, we were happy to find out we could drive to Oakland to the Pointe Shop. Meeting with Josephine for a virtual demi-pointe fitting was amazing. She is articulate, thorough and just as excited to meet with me, personally, as she is with everyone Ive seen her interact with in her Youtube fittings. She took the time to address each of my concerns with caring and in detail. While it was only a 15 minute fitting nothing felt rushed. I appreciate her warm personality and complete confidence in knowing her products and being able to quickly determine which shoe would be best for my foot shape. Before the consult I had reservations about how a virtual visit would work, but now would strongly recommend it to everyone. It is amazing to be able to work with such an experienced fitter without having to travel hours for an in-person visit. I had a remote fitting with Josephine and I cant say enough good things! Shes one of the best fitters Ive worked with, and her knowledge is top notch. She was able to find two pairs of shoes for me to wear through my injury recovery, and the process was seamless, even from a distance.
Finally! A pointe shoe shop that listens to what my daughter needs! Almost every shop we go to would tell her what shoe she should use we dont recommend that for beginners, or young dancers. Well my daughter is petite as most ballerinas are and she has been on pointe for almost 4 years. The Pointe Shop knew exactly what to do to make her feel comfortable and understood why she chose the brand that she likes. I am so grateful to have finally come across this place. Now I can just order online and they can ship them to me without me having to worry about having the awkward conversations of why we want a particular brand. Efficient, Elegant, Excellent customer service! Thanks The Pointe Shop!
Two fittings seem to work for one of my daughter (even though her ballet instructor complained once and she had to redo it).For the first fitting of my youngest daughter, they provided a xxxx size pair for my daughter in only 1 minute of try on. I was surprised how fast the person selected the pair. Few weeks after, my child started having strong knee pain. The ballet instructor instructed her that there was something wrong with her shoes and refused to have her dance with them.So we went to another store and they were shocked of a xxxx pair for her fit. Apparently the shoe was so large that my childs weight was landing on the wrong bone causing her terrible pain.They gave her a regular pair (not xxxx) with extra support for her extreme arch and now the pain is gone.Be careful when you select places to fit your child and always check with a physical therapist.
My daughter G was fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes today. Josephine was knowledgeable and efficient. She took the time to see and explain the strengths and weaknesses of G’s body and feet, and how to be secure in the pointe shoes.

The Pointe Shop is the ABSOLUTE BEST. Incredibly knowledgeable and detailed. Willing to take the time to explain everything - which is greatly appreciated. We were very happy to have a safe, private appointment for a badly needed fitting - my daughter hit a growth spurt over the summer! The fitting was perfect. We were able to find exactly what she needed, and she is very happy with her new shoes. The customer service here is very good.

I started ballet in my late teens, quit in college, and went back after graduating.I am not gifted with natural talent or beautiful arches. In fact, my feet seem just the opposite of what ballet feet should be!So naturally, when I met with Josephine through Zoom—although very starstruck and excited—I was still skeptical about just how much she could help me. Especially through a 15 minute video call, thousands of miles away. I confessed to her that she was my last hope as an adult dancer who had been en pointe for about 2 years and lacked significant improvement.She was kind, quick, professional and wasted absolutely no time. We went over ALL my failed pointe shoes, why they were duds, and what I had done to modify them. We went over my biggest issues and what I could do to improve the way the shoes fit.Josephine gave me great tips and was realistic about expectations, but never made me feel bad for not being perfect. Finally, she decided on one shoe that I had never tried, no hesitation whatsoever and that was it.It took about 6 weeks for my order to ship out, since the shoes I was fitted in were out of stock and needed to be made. Once they were out to be shipped it took approximately 4 days to be at my doorstep.When my shoes arrived I was ecstatic, but still remained skeptical. “The shank will probably twist” or “I’ll probably sink anyway” and “There’s no way someone could fit me so quickly without even trying the whole store selection. It’s just not possible with my feet.”However, as soon as they were on I could not believe how perfect they felt! Finally, the “fitting like a glove” feeling happened for me! I can push over my box, I have much better alignment, no big toe pain, the shank wasn’t twisting, I felt supported, there was no gapping, etc.My technique still needs work, but now I am not fighting my shoe to get results. Pointe work has always been terrifying for me because of the way I have felt with the wrong shoes. Now, these shoes simply feel like an extension of myself and I am really looking forward to my journey en pointe.I’m still sooo shocked that she was able to fit me virtually and only chose one shoe in one size, without any hesitation. She really is the pointe shoe fairy godmother!Thank you, Josephine and all staff at The Pointe Shop, for making ballet accessible to everyone!

We’ve been going to The Pointe Shop for a couple of years now. We’ve been to both Santa Ana and Oakland showrooms and have experienced experts Josephine and Melissa, and recently their new fitter, Elseana. I’ve never been disappointed, with their expertise and knowledge, communication and care with the dancer, as well as the condition of their pointe shoes. I’ve tried another local store because it’s closer- but I’ve been disappointed a couple of times and it doesn’t compare to The Pointe Shop! We have recommended The Pointe Shop to my daughter’s friends and we’re happy they’ve had the same experience.

The Pointe Shop travels to our local studio every fall before classes start and are always amazing. In between annual trips virtual fittings and easy and efficient to make sure my daughter gets shoes that keep on fitting throughout the year. Shoes are shipped right to our door within a week!
Had the hardest time finding pointe shoes for my daughter. Nothing seemed to fit. We finally decided to try something different. Their traveling fitter had my daughter in a pair of pointe shoes that fit perfectly within 15 minutes. They are the absolute best. I highly recommend. Being a single father, I was a little out of my league when my daughter needed new pointe shoes. The last place she got the shoes had closed and last time, she had a hard time finding ones that fit her feet right. She finds The Pointe Shop online and I was impressed by what I read on the website and we book an appointment. The first appointment we had to reschedule but I was given advanced notice before making the trek out there. The second time it was my fault about the time of the appointment, but Elseana was very professional and accommodating finding a time later in the day. The fitting session was great and I was impressed by Elseanas expertise and knowledge. I was out the door with pointe shoes my daughter was happy with and she claims they were better than her other pair. I know where to go in the future and I recommend the Pointe Shop

The Pointe Shop is fantastic. I was fitted virtually for a pair of demi-pointe shoes. It was extremely quick and easy. I look forward to receiving them in the mail.One day, when I get fully on pointe, I will definitely get my shoes through the pointe shop. It’s a fantastic resource for those of us who live more rurally and don’t have the ability to get fitted in town.

My daughter and I drive from Salinas to Oakland for my daughters point shoes. Even though the drive is long, we are never disappointed with the services, the suggestions, and the quality of the shoes. The Pointe Shop is a great example of a small business that values its customers .
This was the best fitting I have had so far as a dancer. My fitter (Elseana Skowronski) really took the time to help me decide on which pointe shoe would be the best. Unlike other dance studios where they asked me pretty basic questions, my fitter game me options and questions that I’ve never been asked before but were necessary. I really recommend getting fitted here especially if it’s your first pair that way you can get the perfect ballerina fit :) (Sorry there are no photos)

I wanted to love this shop, I had heard such good things! I am leaving very disheartened, out almost $200, and with nothing but a waste of two months to show for it. I know I’m just one person so they don’t care, they have bigger- better- clientele. But I did wish for slightly better customer service from a personalized pointe shoe fitting company. Really made me feel like I was a burden to them and like I was the one wasting their time. Ironic as I’m the one that lost $200 in this plus all my follow up time.-Repeatedly poor communication-The shoes (I am not in California) were sent to the wrong address. The address they mailed it to and the address they confirmed they sent it to were different.-They did not alert me that the shoe was out of stock (they claim they did- but I called to address this multiple times and they also have ‘no record’ of my calls..).-I did not receive my shoes for two months. Yet this store charged me when I placed the order not when they had the item back in stock.-They do not give refunds even after: charging me when they did not yet have the product, not communicating that it was out of stock, not communicating when it had shipped, and failing to send it to my address.-This whole process took more than 30 days, so consequently they originally didn’t even want to allow an exchange or return, but to apologize for the issues including mailing it to the wrong address they are extending my return window but I will only receive store credit. Which is rather disheartening and a total loss- why would I want to deal with this for another two months?!
So easy to make an appointment using the Calendy link. Fitting was efficient but Elseanna assessed the right things and we tried several models. Right now there are supply chain issues but they still had a good selection in my size. As a long time dancer on pointe, I trust The Pointe Shop to make sure my fit is appropriate and safe.
Our fitter Elseana took her time, made my daughter feel comfortable, trying out an assortment of pads and toe covers, and various shoe sizes and brands. She had excellent attention to detail and took the full 30 mins to analyze the proper fit. We will keep returning, as this was or 2nd fitting here, and we drive all the way from the north bay. I love love love the pointe shop so much. They can take one look at my feet and know what shoes to try me in. I would 10000% recommend them to any dancer who is at the right level for pointe work. The only thing I have an issue with is that they dont have Suffolks pointe shoes... so if you wear those that could be an issue if you come here. But I love this store, its amazing.

Margaret has been waiting and dreaming since she was five years old to be on pointe shoes and Josephine made her dreams come true this past weekend. Josephine knew exactly what shoe our daughter needed and she happened to have them in stock, even though they were custom shoes. I HIGHLY recommend The Pointe Shop to anyone looking for pointe shoes, ballet dancers recovering from or trying to avoid foot injuries, and anyone who needs pointe shoe essentials and accessories.Also, if you are an adult ballet dancer like me and you are looking for a place where you will feel welcomed, special, and like your fitter is celebrating this dance milestone with you as you get your first pair of pointe shoes, go to the Pointe Shop!!Josephine is exceptional at what she does and it’s evident that she loves helping people find pointe shoes that make them feel confident and beautiful.I wasn’t sure I would be able to do pointe because I’m starting as an adult, I have sensitive skin (dermographism) so I feel everything in my shoes, and I’ve also had a nerve injury in my foot. Josephine completely “got it” and she helped me find the right shoe, the perfect padding, and gave me tips on the best ribbon and elastic configuration for my sensitive skin type so I could dance without pain. She also took the time to get to know me and encouraged me to follow up with her so we can continue to tailor my shoes/padding as I progress as a dancer.Also, if you are looking for pointe shoes while the world is a dumpster fire (i.e., during the COVID-19 pandemic) this is the place to go! If you are able to visit the Oakland shop, sign up for an appointment and you’ll get a private fitting with one of the Pointe Shop expert fitters in an air conditioned and very clean shop.Thank you SO much to Josephine and the Ponte Shop for helping me find the perfect pointe shoes and for making the experience extra special. I’m a Pointe Shop customer for life and I’m eternally grateful to Josephine for giving me such a joyous memory of getting my first pair of pointe shoes!

It’s an eye opener to see how Josephine guides my daughter through the session with such ease and precision, pointing out the problem spots all within 15 minutes and through our laptop camera lens. Josephine visually observed my daughter’s feet and flexibility, then suggested a couple different styles to try on. She was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We are so glad to have this amazing experience and we highly recommend Josephine and The Pointe Shop.
