My partner and I stayed at the Madrona for two nights in March. It was one of the best hotel experiences weve had in a long time. The mansion is gracious, welcoming, modern, and cozy all at the same time. If you have the opportunity, I encourage you to wake up early and spend some time in the main parlor as the sun creeps over the hills. Its incredibly peaceful and leads your mind to wonder what it must have been like for the original owners to live in this gorgeous place.The grounds are beautifully gardened. Spending time on the front porch or strolling the grounds fulfills your soul. We want to come back and enjoy the pool in warmer weather.The staff at the Madrona is top notch. Everyone was incredibly helpful and kind. If you need a wine tasting booked, check on local restaurant, or ask advice on things to do, they are there to help.We are looking forward to our next visit!

Nothing short of extraordinary. We attended a wedding here and it was really one of the most beautiful hotels and grounds Ive ever seen in my life. The vista from the front balcony could have you believing youre in Tuscany. Outstanding kitchen as well.

Had a great stay at the madrona! We stayed during a very rainy February long weekend, umbrellas were provided, free Tesla chargers & amazing service from the Staff-especially Grace & Brandy! Food at the restaurant was divine and we loved the overall decor and vibe of the hotel! My only request/change would be that the bar/restaurant be open on Mondays/Tuesdays as we would’ve loved a snack & a glass of wine on Monday, especially with a $60 a night resort fee. All in all, a wonderful stay in the coziest rooms with comfy beds and great toiletries, hotel provided car complimentary for 1mile radius, great/helpful staff, and wonderful concierge!! We really loved that the hotel felt elaborate yet quaint at the same time. Will definitely be back!

My boyfriend surprised me with a birthday night getaway last Monday! Was so happy when he pulled up to The Madrona! It was a rainy, gray day but our room, Bungalow #1 was so cozy, peaceful and relaxing! The room was beautiful, from the awesome bathroom with heated floors, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and small deck overlooking the trees. Truly awesome! Brandy at the front desk was very welcoming. Even surprised us with some champagne! We had dinner plans in town so it was very nice to know they had a driver on property that would drive us to dinner and pick us up! Thank you Joe. My apologies for not remembering everyones names. Thank you also to Rachel. Appreciate the accommodations. Will definitely be back. I cannot say enough great things about this property and experience. We stayed during the holidays and were blown away by the charm and coziness of the estate. Our bungalow room was well-appointed without being overly fussy and the main building felt like you were stepping back in time, in the best way. But the design and ambiance wasnt the best part, it was the entire team at The Madrona that blew us away. Evan, Joe, Rachel, Laura, the list goes on! Each person went over and above to give us an experience that well remember forever. Thank you and I hope well get the chance to come back and experience the magic again - its truly so special!

Just spent 3 nights at the Madrona in Sonoma and what an absolutely incredible property. The main mansion is beyond charming, our room was so comfortable (the bedding!!), the Flamingo Estate soaps and shampoos are yummy, and the STAFF - they are so kind and go OUT OF THEIR WAY for everything - top notch customer service. We had delicious cocktails, food, and an all around wonderful time at this beautifully designed hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Perfect place to get away for even a night. Fantastic rooms and amazing food and staff. The grounds are simply perfect and its a mile away from the core of Healdsburg if you wanted to even leave. The attention to detail from the artwork, to the bar and restaurant set-up, to the rooms themselves..is something to cherish. I really cant say enough about it. I cant wait to return and I will as soon as possible.

We recently stayed at The Madrona and absolutely loved it. The property is so beautiful with abundant flowers, a vegetable garden and even a little orange grove. We spent one day at the pool and it was a true oasis (+ we ordered a smoked salmon pizza that was beyond delicious!) The manager, Rachel, was incredibly helpful before and throughout our stay. She had great restaurant recommendations, made us reservations and set up the hotel car service to take us to and from downtown. Our room was also lovely. We stayed in the stand alone carriage house that had its own private deck and was impeccably clean with all the amenities from a heated bathroom floor to a remote control fireplace. Everything about our stay was wonderful and well definitely be going back to this hotel!

We had the most amazing stay at the Madrona. The entire property is so beautifully designed and the service was impeccable. A few notes:- It’s ideally located right next to the town, but not on the strip.- our bungalow suite was very comfortable, roomy and perfect for our small family and pup. Blackout curtains and a really comfortable bed.- not only did our room have a dog bed in it (nicer than the one she has at home) but there was a goody basket for her in the room and the hotel staffed seemed to know her name.- the restaurant was great and the service was wonderful. Make sure you order the caviar and onion dip and the house burger.- the hotel bar was really fun and the drinks were amazing.- the concierge planned an amazing outing to a local winery for us. They crafted the choice of winery based on our preferences.

Our stay at The Madrona was top notch! Romantic weekend perfectly curated by the concierge (Rachel). I had questions about room types which turned into many questions about itinerary and best restaurants and wineries based on varietals and experiences we liked. Rachel went above and beyond to send me perfect options, communicate with me in a very timely way to get these last minute bookings and found us wineries and experiences that we could never find ourselves. Her connections and customer focused hospitality was the best I’ve experienced and really made the weekend what it was. She is the jewel of the property and we were so lucky she took care of us making sure our room was perfect and all of our reservations and transportation etc was on point. We had a late driver arrival and she personally accompanied an in house hotel driver and us to make sure we got to our hard to find destination on time. She checked on us when we were late to things and truly was invested in us having a 10 out of 10 experience. The hotel itself is gorgeous and quaint but also fun to socialize with others if you feel like it. Thanks for the perfect weekend!

The Madrona was just like a dream. Its only one mile from downtown Healdsburg in the heart of wine country. Freshly renovated andspecifically curated restoration of a historic residence. Every detail from the landscaping, paint colors, furniture, tableware, eclectic and well-placed art, and the genuine Staff made our stay magical and memorable. It is a truly one-of-a-kind place in the most beautiful of locations. I saw this place on Instagram, and I decided to make a trip. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Rachel, who was super lovely and welcoming. I was offered a bubbly wine as a welcome. The room was designed fully, including a fireplace, heated bathroom floor, mini bar, and air conditioning.I also had a beautiful dinner and drinks, and all the staff were super friendly.I highly recommend this place for any occasion. I went on a solo trip but felt so safe and pampered. I have been telling everyone about this place and cant wait to come back again

Absolutely loved our stay at The Madrona! The property and grounds are gorgeous and service is amazing. We had a room in the mansion itself and loved it. We took advantage of eating at the restaurant twice while we there and using the complimentary car service into town. Ariana the concierge set up in room massages for us during our stay that made a relaxing trip that much more relaxing! Can’t wait to go back to The Madrona!

Stayed here last month just before Thanksgiving for 4 nights. Super comfy bed and pillows, little gad fireplace inside our bungalow, welcome champagne for our anniversary, great gym given size of property, really helpful staff. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again. Breakfast is sparse but we didn’t mind.

Gorgeous. We came here for our honeymoon and this was the most romantic place weve ever stayed. From the time we arrived to the time we checked out, we were just taking in the history, the view, the style, the garden, the class, the EVERYTHING about the Madrona. The view outside our room was stunning. The heated floors in the bathroom were lovely. The breakfast was delicious. Dinner on the patio was perfect. We added an extra night onto our stay, if that tells you anything! Even more - the staff made us a simple to-go breakfast the night before our checkout since we had to leave so early. Their customer service was just one more piece of perfection regarding our stay. Our only regrets were not enjoying the pool, not reserving the movie on the lawn event ahead of time, and not using their bikes to explore nearby Healdsburg! Guess we will just have to try that next time. ;)

My fiancé brought me here for my birthday and we can truly not say enough about The Madrona! The design is just insane, grounds out of a story book, food we’ve been talking about for 4 days, and staff made us feel so at home while being so professional. Grace gave us tours of the grounds and our rooms and pointed out every thoughtful detail. Charles stopped to chat with us like we had known each other forever and I highly suggest having drinks with him and the bartenders. The bar has been set high, guys!

This was our second stay at the Madrona, and it was even better than the first. And that is saying a lot! The hotel has really found such a lovely groove and it is a great alternative to the stuffy, tired, predictable wine country hotels in the area. The decor makes me want to hire an interior designer immediately to redo my home, because every inch of The Madrona is an inspiration. There doesn’t seem to be one inch that hasn’t been carefully thought out and meticulously designed. Our room in the main manor was stunning. The highlight of our trip this time was our meal. The food was sublime, particularly the crudo, chicken paillard and duck breast. But it was the maître d’, Charles, who made the evening so very memorable. He checked on us regularly, with a light, personal touch that was so greatly appreciated. We felt as if he and the staff truly cared about our experience, which is such a rarity in service these days. We are very excited to come back for another anniversary trip next year. Bravo to everyone for making our stay so special.

We had a tremendous experience at the Madrona this December. From the moment we pulled up we knew this would be a special place. The grounds are beautiful, well managed and provide a comforting escape from the city. The hotel itself is stunning and bursting with character. Each room has its own unique feel and vibe. The way the building has been respectfully modernized while keeping all of its charm is remarkable, and the live art gallery just takes it over the top. From top to bottom we experienced exceptional service from all the hotel staff and had several great meals there. In particular, our bartender Danny was amazing. He took such good care of us on our last night and the whole experience is something we wont soon forget. We shall be back soon and would eagerly recommend this place to anyone!

This place is truly dreamy. I managed 5 star hotels for nearly 15 years - and am admittedly very judgmental when it comes to hospitality and design. Getting the boutique experience right is not easy. The design and grounds are dramatic and whimsical enough to create the right mood while preserving and respecting the traditional elements that remind you that you’re experiencing a special time capsule of wine country heritage.Even more important is the service. The details were there in every interaction. Each team member greeted us like old friends and then knew just the right time to politely tap out and leave us to explore.We had a great lunch - received an insightful tour of the property and didn’t want to leave when it was all over. For such a new property - they really knocked it out of the park. It’s clear the new Madrona will have an even more storied future as one of the very best in the region.

What an amazing and special property!I flew all the way from the east coast just to spend my birthday here. The staff (especially the concierge) couldnt be any more professional and welcoming. From the second we arrived someone was immediately available to take our bags up to the room, in addition to offering us a welcome glass of wine. Not to mention the complementary bottle of sparkling wine left in the room with a hand written note wishing me a happy birthday!I also want to mention that the food at breakfast was beyond delicious and I certainly enjoyed taking advantage of the other on-site amenities including the fitness center.Im not one to write on and one, so I will keep this review brief, but the Madrona is well worth the splurge!

The design of this place, and the physical and service details that all accumulate to deliver a truly 5 star experience - I will leave that to others to describe. I want to focus on the people who worked hard to ensure our 2 night stay in rainy January was as relaxing and cozy as we had hoped.Rachel - the concierge, had been in touch with me about what to do and where to eat in the area for WEEKS before our arrival, even writing me a detailed email on her day off. While there, she was the consummate host, giving us an extended tour of the property and because they had space (we had the whole place almost all to ourselves) she gave us a choice of rooms. She even told me the best things to order at the restaurants, and my taste buds thank her for it. A cheery disposition with a keen eye for service, I couldnt have imagined a better person in her position.As for the rest of the staff, hats off. While Grace and Maddison at the front desk still may be a bit wet behind the ears in hotel experience relatively speaking, their desire to provide super high quality service to us was apparent and will only refine on the road ahead. Lovely conversations and genuine smiles will be remembered.We met Caitlin, who can make a mean cocktail, Evan, who manages the front of house with a permanent smile affixed, Sergio who was friendly and chatty on our drives to and from town, Laura who was so prompt and attentive to us upon checkout - even going out of her way to let us know about road closures for our road trip after we checked out, truly above and beyond. And there were more warm and accommodating staff that always seemed to read our minds as to what we wanted and make it ready for us before we even knew we wanted it.This whole orchestra of kind humans harmonized in a way that was worthy of the surrounding area, caliber of the manor, and history of the setting. There was always an air of effortless class - which, after having been in the upscale hospitality industry for decades myself, shows me just how massive the amount of effort is that goes into such an outcome.Thank you all for the perfect stay. You have all given every other hotel a run for their money.

Had dinner reservations for a friends birthday on Saturday night. We intentionally arrived early to enjoy the scenery first. Every single detail has been thought of here. We strolled through the flower and vegetable garden where the tomatoes and chard on my plate came from. A little croquet while sipping a beverage from the bar. Outside are beautiful gardens, a large porch, and stunning views everywhere you look. Inside is full of luxury in every corner. Rich colors and textures on the walls and floors, fun and beautiful artwork. Every room is different. The seating out back is even better than I had hoped for. The ambiance and vibe in the air was happy and vibrant! I loved it! Definitely will go back again!

Stayed here this weekend (7/29-7/31) and after sorting out a few kinks initially, we had such a wonderful stay! The property itself is absolutely stunning...perched on a cliff overlooking the mountains. The landscaping and gardens are just incredible. Feels like a perfect paradise...we thought wed sightsee a bit more but never wanted to leave the property. We spent time at the pool, used the complimentary car service to wine taste and head downtown, and had a phenomenal dinner on property. Charles is amazing...he remembers every little detail and goes above and beyond to make your stay and experience special. Thank you!! This property truly cares about their guests and making them happy! Just a couple things for productive feedback for the owners: 1. May want to update the website so guests are able to choose which bungalow on property they desire and have pricing reflect that accordingly and 2. More water in the room! Or at least stocked in the mini bar. Thanks again for making us feel special with personal touches like a welcome amenity and note, complimentary snacks and welcome beverage, and calling to enhance our experiences at reservations off property. This was out first visit to the Healdsburg area and The Madrona Hotel but will definitely not be our last. From the minute we entered the tree lined driveway and caught our first glimpse of this magnificent property, we knew our weekend getaway was going to be amazing.Everyone from the concierge staff to the parking valets made you feel as if you were the only guest to attend to. There was always someone ready to provide historic information about the hotel and grounds..or offer suggestions on local favorites for wine, dinner and shopping. Our wish was their command.We stayed in the Pool Bungalow, which exceeded our exceptions. From the sophisticated yet welcoming furnishings to the heated bathroom floors, every detail was well thought out and spoke of elegance and relaxation.The grounds were perfectly manicured and amenities replenished often. If you find yourself here during warmer months, be sure to include time to relax at the pool area. Drinks and food can be ordered poolside while you unwind and dip your toes in the perfectly heated salt water pool.The Madrona is superb in every way … and I think we all deserve a little indulgence once in awhile!

The food and drink were good and the service was polite and mostly good but there were some rough edges that it seems many places are having right now. The lobby seating areas were great. For dinner we were sat in the private dining room which overall was pretty great... except the constant traffic coming in and out of the rapidly swinging door to the kitchen. It was jarring and annoying at first but I got used to it.With that said I did not care for our room at all. We were in room 3 which is a small detached bungalow. I figured for $1600 a night it would be private AND charming. Unfortunately it was neither. First, there were no drapes on the sliding glass door that is the entry for the room. This made it kind of tricky because the closet for the room was outside of the bedroom in the living room which made it awkward to get dressed.I did not care for the bold decorative wallpaper and tiles that were on the fireplace together. It was maddening in such a small space. I could have lived with it except that the living area was just plain uncomfortable and the floor plan was not great. The seating was awkward and there were no back pillows on the super squishy pullout sofa. I felt as if I was in a college student apartment. The furniture felt cheap and contrived. It felt as if the chairs were all in the wrong places and there was not a great place for 2 people to sit near the fireplace. The footstool for the one lounge chair rocked because it was missing a foot which made it unusable and the lounge chair was, you guessed it, uncomfortable. Not only was the furniture not comfortable but the lighting absolutely horrible too. I do not like exposed lightbulbs. They produce terrible light and they are glaring too often. The lights in the bathroom were all askew and it just looked cheap to me. I could go on about. the room but I wont.We had some issues with milk for tea in the room too. The containers they give you are so small that you can only get one serving before you need more. Room service was good and the food delicious. The regular green salad is really fantastic.I found the outside area to be less than charming due to all the cars parked right out front of the bungalow as well as the large blacktop parking lot that we would walk through to get our room. Then on one side of the bungalow if you look out of the small window you look down into a storage type work area that is not charming either. This room just didnt feel right, was not charming and was way too expensive for what it is. I was quite disappointed.The food and drink gives Madrona an extra star. The room was a 2 (for the money) and the restaurant was a 3.5. One more thing on the food. The deserts were simple and yet different than many other places. The khuchen with berries was absolutely delicious along with the other deserts we tried. We really enjoyed our server. She was relaxed, informative but left us alone at the right times.

Incredible place with a unique vibe - reminding me of upscale London restaurants. We didn’t stay at the hotel, but had early lunch. The experience was great - from the extremely friendly staff, to the innovative food and the atmosphere at the outdoor eating space.When we left, I asked to get a little something at the gift store to remember the experience - as it was my 40th birthday. The staff gave me some memorabilia as a gift.I am dreaming of coming back to stay at the property.

We visited the Madrona in late May when it had been open for just a few weeks. The renovated hotel sits on a gorgeous property in Healdsburg.We were pleased with the attentive service and hospitality. The manager gave us a tour when we arrived and was thoughtful and responsive in helping us switch to a room with a balcony (highly recommend the balcony).All the common rooms and private suites in the hotel are unique, with different color palettes and funky décor that complement the classic charm of the home. And it certainly feels like home: while eating dinner, we commented how warm and welcoming it felt, and how nice it was to feel people buzzing around us, chatting in the bar or on the patio.Some of our favorite moments included: strolling through the flower, fruit and veggie gardens to a small orange grove; playing cards and eating dinner in the blue sitting room across the hall from the bar; having a drink on our balcony while admiring the pretty vineyard and mountain view at sunset.Thanks, team Madrona, for making our visit great. We will stay here again.

The words: Chic, Stylish, Dashing, Sophisticated, Creative, Voguish, Now, Tony, etc….you get it...are all yours when you pay a visit to the newly envisioned Madrona in Healdsburg. It’s a perfect, elegant & off the beaten path choice for a simple afternoon stop for a glass of bubbly on the veranda, a quiet dinner with a new client (or, a lover :), or a secluded ‘check out’ for a few days. And it has celebration written all over it if you want to take over part of, or the entire property. It’s small. It’s intimate. It’s worth it. The confident design mix of modern interiors in the equally spectacular traditional skin are a relief to find in today’s wine country offerings. The casual staff will take good care of you and make you feel at home….as they did for us. Make plans! You’ll be pleasantly surprised when you go. I will return!

Was excited to return to the newly renovated Madrona Inn, Healdsburg since our last visit was on NYE of the millennium when we had a wonderful time. While the renovation is lovely, our experience in the restaurant was poor. It was my birthday and we were expecting a top notch experience. The food was less than exciting, and expensive, and it took FOREVER for the food to come. The tables are close together so a private conversation was difficult. I would not recommend the restaurant until they get their act together.

We just got home from a wonderful stay at the Madrona! We booked fairly last minute so we didnt have a ton of time to research. We reached out to Charles, the concierge, he went above and beyond to help us plan our few days. He had the best recommendations of wineries and local spots we would have never found ourselves. I traveled from the East coast and was excited to enjoy a wonderful dinner with my brother and sister-in-law Thanksgiving week at this historic gem. We arrived 45 minutes ahead of our reservation. We enjoyed a drink at the bar, but then when it was time to go to our table at 7:30, there were no more inside seats (which I reserved). So on a 35 degree night they sat us on the porch. Many of the heaters weren’t working. The servers scrabbled to try to get them lit. Most had empty propane tanks. You would have thought they’d be prepared as it was cold several evenings in a row. The menu was limited, the table had no tablecloth, candle or flower - a completely different experience then dining indoors. Service was ok, my $28.00 hamburger was good, but food and drinks are overpriced, restaurant is overrated, we were freezing. On this night drinks and dinner cost a few hundred dollars for 4 people. I won’t return, a huge let down.

Fantastic flavors for the pallet! Another great dinner, included the ever impressive duck, chicken, peach salad, beet toast, and kuchin for dessert! We luv the choices from their extensive wine list. And we always begin the evening with a cocktail on the veranda.Staff is excellent, really top notch.

Since it reopened I have had two exceptional meals here. The menu is designed for sharing so we’ve head almost everything at this point and it was all perfectly executed. Though I’m sure things will change with the seasons and feature what’s fresh from their beautiful gardens, recent highlights were the salmon crudo, gnocchi with duck ragu, and fresh peach salad. The staff aims to please - all super friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Solid wine list with a good mix of some of the best local stuff alongside old world standards. I plan on making myself a regular.

The Madrona is one of those magical places that are hard to find. Very rarely does a hotel get ALL the details right. We felt right at home from the moment we crossed the beautiful gates of the property. This was our first time in Healdsburg and the concierge team made sure it was memorable. Loved the e-bikes - you can take them on a short ride to downtown which just adds to the charm. The Madrona is the best hands down!

Visited for a late Tuesday night dinner. First time since the re-design and remodel. The space is beautiful; antique pieces in every room but now with a modern and classic twist. The patio is a beautiful setting for dinner. We drank a Madroni and Madroni sub Buffalo Trace, cheers! We shared the Peaches and pressed celery dish which was just okay since the peaches were a bit crunchy--wish they had waited a few weeks until the peaches were actually ripe. The pickled beet and toast which tasted like a Reuben sandwich, yum! And the Liberty duck which was cooked to perfection but was unfortunately served with an extremely overly salted grain. Our server was Emily and she was very sweet. Overall the ambiance and service made us happy despite a few hiccups with the food.
