No one really wants to be in a situation where they *have* to hire a lawyer, but life led us down a path where we had to hire an attorney for my mom, and we are SO, so happy that we worked with Andrew. We were referred to Andrew by our immigration attorney to help solve a traffic misdemeanor charge that could impact her pending immigration application. We were very stressed and scared, and Andrew took on all of our burdens! From the first call, to check-in calls, to emails with him and Jasmine (his very professional, warm, and responsive Director of Operations and wife!), to our final wrap up calls, Andrew and Jasmine were there for us. Andrew was professional and demonstrated his knowledge of criminal law and the court system. He was very clear about the steps we needed to take to resolve our case and made sure we were 100% on board with his advice. Most of all, he understood our concerns and fears and was so supportive in his communication (something we didnt expect from a lawyer, ha). He gained my moms trust on day 1. Andrew Leventhal represented me recently in a criminal case in Federal court in the central district of California. I have worked with and had numerous interactions with criminal defense attorneys in the past and Andrew is by far superior in many ways. He is prompt to respond to any questions and concerns that I had no matter when and how trivial they seemed. Andrew not only is very good at his job but is a caring person who genuinely feels compassion for those he defends which is one of the reasons I believe he fights so hard for his clients. The sentencing guideline for my specific charge was 87-110 months taking into consideration my criminal history and Andrew not only got the prosecution to agree to a 42 month sentence but also convinced the judge to accept it as well. I hired Andrew Leventhal to represent a family member against a misdemeanor DUI charge and in related proceedings before the DMV. Andrew did a fantastic job on both accounts. He negotiated a deal that got the criminal charges dismissed with nothing more than traffic school, and he even argued the DMV into not suspending the drivers license for a year (which is normally mandatory under the circumstances). He and his firm were communicative and responsive throughout the entire process, which took several months as the DMV kept delaying the hearing.Andrew Leventhal hit the ball out of the park. Where do I start? At the very beginning, shall we? Due to a bad snap judgement, I found myself in what seemed to be an awful entanglement with the law. As someone who has lived in this country for 27 years without ever getting in any trouble with the law, I was lost and a little frightened. I was referred to Andrew Leventhal by another attorney. When I called Andrew on the same day, and just over the phone, Andrew analyzed my situation very clearly and what options I would be staring at in the days ahead. Even over the phone, I heard a person who actually loves his job. When I met him in person the next day, I brought my husband with me. Now my husband is an attorney, so it was a little bit of one professional evaluating another professional in the industry. At our in-person meeting, Andrew again explained clearly and concisely what our options were, when and how he would tackle the case, exactly how much his retainer would be, and exactly what the retainer would cover. Andrew also did not make any far-fetched promises either. Amazingly enough, his demeanor was reassuring and warm, which is so unlike the grouchy lawyers whove been soaked in criminal law for too long. I had the pleasure of being represented by Andrew years ago when he was a public defender in Pasadena. I had no idea who I was given or what he was capable of but let me tell you back then he was just as passionate, hard working, and non judgmental as he is now.Unfortunately, I had to call Andrew to save the day again!! Now, its 10 years later and I was facing a D.A. in Pasadena that was literally the least compassionate and not to mention was just out for blood. Every single person that went before not only got a tongue lashing but also got no break from her at all. Marlene Sanchez is her name and trust me when I say you dont just need a lawyer, YOU NEED ANDREW. I had tried to face her by my lonesome but as I went to each court date something changed from court date to court date. The public defenders were a far cry from public defender I was granted when Andrew was around. First it was community service. The next court date, I didnt have enough hours completed so, I made sure at my next date I had more than enough. So here I go with my more than enough hours and she tells me she has to reconsider my community service because of something she just found in my file! I had had 4-5 court dates prior, not once was there an issue. My public defender which had changed every time I was in court had no idea what has going on. No one would listen to me, no one would check the court reporters transcript, no one took notes, everyone blamed me for their mistakes.That day I called Andrew. I was in a very difficult legal position in the summer of 2018. I was charged with serious felonies and the potential derailment of my future plans with my family. I am a combat veteran with who has been diagnosed with PTSD from the VA along with other conditions related to my time in service. I had an Intox in Public case and a lot was riding on this case- past probation, past history of DUI, my employment was on the line. I needed it dismissed. And my first attorney was not fighting for this. His approach was to plea no contest and be done with it. When I told him I could not take a no contest that I needed a dismissal he said I needed to install the ankle alcohol ankle monitor for one year because this will help him win the case.
