Very nice and cozy place. At first glance it seems that this is an ordinary hotel, but it is not. Everything in the room was clean and comfortable. I really liked the outdoor terrace overlooking the lake. The hotel restaurant is simply gorgeous, very good service and incredibly tasty dishes. Very soulful and romantic atmosphere. I absolutely love this place!

Not what you would expect for the price. Location is great right on the lake but parking was an issue when we arrived and staff didn’t concern themselves too much with helping. The restaurant closes at nine, which was not communicated and when we called down for room service, no one even suggested an alternative or a place we could go close by instead. The shuttle driver was very nice and accommodating and the shuttle is comfortable and convenient.overall, if the price was a third of what we paid, we would’ve been happy. But the service, lackluster pool, high price in the restaurant, and the fact that there were two weddings going on while we were there, and staff seemed a bit frazzled made for not a stellar experience.

I am giving 3 stars the staff was great the property was clean; however they are advertising as a 5 star property and in my opinion this property is an upper 3 to 4 stars. It’s. Nothing like any 5 star resorts we’ve ever stayed at. We were disappointed in it because we were expecting a 5 star property. We were told we were getting a lake view and we had a partial view but our balcony was across from the weddings held there and there were weddings every day. We were not able to even use our balcony because the wedding guests would give us awkward looks. We were that close to them it seemed like we were apart of it. Huge disappointment for us as we were there celebrating our 36th anniversary. We checked out early and find a nice place to stay. I think our biggest disappointments were being promised a lake view and we were expecting a 5 star property. We heard a lot of people complaining about the place while we were there.

We traveled down to Tahoe as part of a 60th birthday road trip. Couldn’t have been happier with my wife’s hotel choice. A vibrant well kept premises with wonderful staff. We ate at the resort restaurant ‘Jimmy’s’ on a couple of occasions and the food and service were just as we like it, great food with friendly and laid back service. The boys that run the shuttle bus were great lads and a credit to the hotel. Location was spot on with a great beach on the doorstep. Took the the free bikes out one day and enjoyed the pool for a few hours. If I’m a good boy I might get to come back for my 70th.

The Landing Resort was an incredible find, and we extended our stay by a week. The staff are remarkable, friendly, and so wonderful. They were a big reason on our desire to continue our holiday at this resort. The rooms are amazing, heated floors, heated toilet seat, fireplaces, balconies with stunning views, and then there is the food. Award winning chef and a delicious menu that can not be faulted. Already planning a winter vaycay here.

My husband and I booked the Landing for our wedding anniversary to ski and explore Lake Tahoe. We loved our stay here. The location is perfect, steps outside of the back door is the lake, surrounding mountains, and an easy walk to downtown shopping and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and the fire was wonderful after a long day of skiing. The hotel is very dog friendly, greeting us with a cute little doggy bag with treats and a toy. The staff was exceptional - they were all kind and helpful, people you want to stop by and have a conversation with. There is a shuttle that will bring you within 2 miles of the hotel which was great for dropping off at the Heavenly gondola for skiing. Would definitely recommend staying here for those visiting this area - in any season. We can’t wait to come back.

Had an amazing 2 day stay here at The Landing Tahoe. Our room had great views overseeing the beach. Love how our room had a fireplace that kept the room warm during the cold nights. Overall I highly recommend this resort as the staff is what truly brings this place to a 5 star accommodation. Would really like to thank Jason for driving us with the resorts house vehicle. And the rest of the staff who were kind and super inviting (Dillan, Mel, Charles)

This place is NOT a 5 star resort - total joke for the hotel to even state this and we felt duped and tricked actually.This place is a generous 2 star refurbished motor lodge at best with 5 star additional resort fees!We were there last weekend for 3 nights and our lake view balcony overlooked a loud busy road and then a large iron fence in front of the beach then you could see and enjoy the lake.Yes the location is great minus busy road and iron fence “protecting” the large private beach.The room was tiny, old and run down looking with weird tartan carpet and uncomfortable old beds but the over the top marble bathroom was nice ( even though I wished they would have spent that money towards upgrading the room). And we could not control the thermostat either.The room was very clean at least and staff seemed very nice and the food in the motel restaurant was excellent - some of the best breakfasts and dinners I have ever had in the decades of going to Lake Tahoe!I would go back to the restaurant and will do so in the future 💯 but I will stay somewhere else in the future - either at a more expensive real resort or some other cheaper hotel or motel.Once again —-it is a total joke for this place to be called a 5 star resort and I almost never submit reviews but felt I needed to warn others to avoid disappointment like we felt.

Had a one night stay that was far too short.The Landing is located in a prime location in South Lake Tahoe just steps from the beach and a short walk/drive to the Heavenly village and casinos.The staff is exceptional in their friendliness and above and beyond service. Special shout out to Mel!we stayed in a moderately upgraded room. With a large sitting area, balcony with lake views and luxurious bathroom. The floors in the bathroom are heated!Cons: resort charge is high for what you get. $30/day parking charge shouldn’t be there. And the pool requires a short walk across the parking lot.

Everyone who works here treated us like family. From the receptionist/concierge (i forget her name) to Jason who drove us around in snowy weather we loved kicking off our honeymoon here.The bathrooms were great, the hot tub was great, and the location is perfect. Lake access was only a minute from the door and the heavenly village is also only few minutes away. Stop by the driftwood cafe for a great meal.

Well, there is a big gap between what you see in the pictures and what you get. Will start with room which we paid quite a bit and for facing the lake- we were put at the first floor you are actually seen a parking and cars litarly you are facing the street from the ground. The room is very basic. A man was working on cutting the lawn at 08:00 right in front of our room. Also the cleaning was done right when we wanted to get a nap at 14:00. So vacation without any rest. The fitness room is loaded with dast and not clean. The towel smells like a dast. Its not maintained. There are no paper cups to bring no cleaned towels. The only prons is the proximity to the lake. We also had one night to park outside. No parking space probably becease of a loud celebration done on the roof. But still, we got charged 30$. The pool was dirty. Overall, it is not recommended at all, not value for money at all.. It is better to get another place and walk or drive to the lake. We are willing to pay but to get proper value for what we are paying. By the way, the hotel charges also sale fee, transaction fee, go figure.

Upon arriving the room was not ready. We had to wait a long time for it to get cleaned. Once in the room there were dog hairs everywhere. There were not enough staff on site. We asked for a comforter and a set of sheets and it took a long time to just get the comforter. We had to call again for the sheets which arrived an hour later. Continuously we were told that they are short of staff. We paid over $1,700 for two night stay for what then? Nothing in the room worked. The TV did not work, the fire place did not work, the bathtub jet did not work. We asked for help and a person showed up saying that he could not fix it. When we wanted to check out we asked for help with our luggage and we waited over an hour and no one showed up. We ended up carrying them ourselves and the receptionist did not care. They gave us $60 per day of resort money we could spend in the restaurant or the spa. However, the spa never had any appointments available and the restaurant was full and short on staff. We reported the problem upon check out and they gave us a $30 discount!!!! Absolutely not worth the money.

My daughter was traveling through the area and I wanted to find her a nice place to stay that had good food and a spa. She made herself an appointment for a facial and I made her an appointment for a massage. The website gave us times and we paid in advance. Upon arrival, she walked around and found out that the spa was closed and under construction. The entire point of going was for a mini spa break. THE SPA WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION and no one thought to note that on the website or when I called and asked some questions before making the reservation. AND the accepted reservations and payments we made and sent confirmations.We paid extra so she could have a lake view. It’s really a view of a parking area and there were cars in and out constantly and it was noisy. Sitting on the balcony, you can see the lake but end up watching cars.The room was fine but the heat was set at 75 and despite trying to turn it down in the middle of the night, it would default back to 75.There’s a resort fee and a parking fee. Based on the time of year, the majority of those things covered by the fee are not applicable. Parking should be part of the resort fee. Such an odd additional charge.The staff were nice and accommodating and they allowed her to check in early but when I called to ask if she could check in early because she had a spa appointment, the person at the desk didn’t mention the spa was closed. It was meant to be a fun overnight with some good food and spa treatments and it was not that at all. She used the gym so I guess the $75 resort fee covered a trip to the gym Which was nice and free WiFi. The food was good but expensive. Overall, not worth the price. It was a spa-less, spa trip.

Everything was top notch but the onsite restaurant. Service was excellent and everyone was super friendly. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed was a little firm for me, but not bad. It was sooo quiet at night...we slept like a baby. Location was perfect. The lake is a 1 min walk and the stateline area is about a 5 min walk. They have a free shuttle which is very nice.This is a beautiful place to stay in Tahoe.

It does feel like a 5 star hotel - more like 3.5 stars: small rooms, low ceilings, motel-like feel as the second building is separate and you enter from the street.We spent $1,000+ for two nights (including a $75 resort fee per night aka hot tub and small pool and an average $65 American breakfast). Wed have definitely been better off in a 3 star hotel nearby or an Airbnb.Beautiful setting right on the beach but wouldnt recommend.

Stayed here for a long weekend for our first trip to Tahoe for some skiiing, the location is amazing, literally on the lake for gorgeous views morning and night, they offer a free on demand shuttle to take you to the main heavenly gondola that operates all the time, easily within walking distance of many shops and restaurantsOur room was lovely, everything worked, beautiful fireplace that we could use to keep our gear dry, they offer complimentary gear check too, bed was comfy, everything was nice and clean, fireplace puts off great heat,When we checked in everything was quick and easy, I guess they normally offer champagne when you check in, they forgot to do this initially however when we saw the staff later they realized their mistake and offered us two glasses for now and an entire bottle if we wanted to come back laterWould definitely stay here again

Didnt stay here, but visited the restaurant 2x. The view to the lake is great. The hibiscus margaritas are a must try! The burgers are good (I had a veggie burger ). The staff was very kind and easy to talk to. The music was a mix of top 20, I enjoyed it while sitting on the patio.I got a chance to check out the rooms, and I know when I come back - The Landing is where Im staying, no question about it!Happy accident to have found this place walking down to the lake.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m not sure how this hotel is listed as 5 star. It should barely be 3 stars. Everything felt dirty and old. Walls were dirty, the carpet in our room wasn’t even vacuumed before our arrival, dirty curtains, worn-out and dirty furniture. The gym looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks…dirty towels all over, broken machines, empty water cups tossed about. Nothing about this hotel was the luxury a 5 star hotel should be. In addition, they then nickel-and-dime you with parking and resort fees at almost $100 per day that give you practically nothing extra. Would never recommend this place. Save yourself $$ and stay a 3 star hotel nearby.

This is our favorite place to stay in Tahoe. This is a true 5-star experience in a humble and peaceful neighborhood. If you splurge and get a room with a full lake view then you are basically in heaven on Earth. Glasses of champagne upon check-in, heated floors and towel rack, heated toilet with embedded color light. The zenith of the room experience is the beautiful deep bathtub and the penultimate piece is the beautiful easy-to-use gas fireplace. It’s all the little details! 🤩 Even if something goes awry like if the ice machine breaks the staff is happy to promptly get you some ice from the kitchen or the bar. The restaurant and hotel staff is for the most part pretty amazing as well. That is hard to find nowadays. Just like their surrounding area, the staff are humble and peaceful people. It’s a vibe! Oh, another sweet perk is the 3 free electric car chargers!! Perfect to get you ready for a beautiful heavenly drive around the perimeter of wonderful Lake Tahoe!

Booked spa treatments with a group of friends. There is no common area to hang out while you wait for your treatment. The locker rooms are tiny and they only allow two back at a time to change. The steam room is a shower. Not to mention the hot tub is across the street and the jets didn’t even work. This was a 0/10 experience. No photos of spa online and now I know why.

This resort is an absolute delight! We decided to stay at the landing for a couple reasons: they are dog friendly (big or small), and their lake view rooms are right on the beach and with a stunning view. Our expectations were exceeded! The bathrooms are wonderful (steam shower, heated floors) and so was our room. What made our stay memorable was the kindness and hospitality of the staff. Shout out to Mel for being so wonderful and going above and beyond for taking care of us! We will definitely stay here again.

Cute little boutique resort with cabin like interior. Our room had a fireplace, balcony, big bathtub, heated toilet seat (I love this!) and mini fridge. Its got cozy vibes. The lake beach area was close and it was within walking distance to Harveys, Harrahs, etc. What I really loved about this place is how pet friendly it is and the fact that they offer complimentary on demand shuttle service to and from anywhere within a mile. All the staff were very friendly.

I took a trip with my family and booked this resort. I wanted to be near the water and this looked really nice. I didnt have high expectations, but this lovely place definitely exceeded all of them. The room was a little small, but the amenities were amazing. The bathroom was ultra modern and had heated floors for the cool Tahoe nights. I definitely did not expect good food from a hotel restaurant, but it was amazing. My father who is in his 70s is still raving about how good the avocado toast was. The staff was super nice and helpful, it made for a really special stop on our trip!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Landing! The resort was cozy with amazing views of Lake Tahoe. We stayed in a Lakeview room (highly recommend), and we loved the in-room fireplace, heated toilet seat, and heated bathroom floors.During our stay, we dined at Jimmy’s and enjoyed a couples massage at the spa. Both amenities really elevated our stay, and the hospitality and service were top notch!The highlight during our stay was definitely the staff! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with great customer service. The concierge, shuttle drivers, and bar staff were all so welcoming and were happy to give their suggestions for our trip that went above and beyond what we’ve seen from other resorts.We will definitely be staying at The Landing again!

I’m not sure where 5 stars came from as nothing about the hotel was better than “fine”.The rooms were “fine” - everything was old, beat up, small but it had a bed and a bathroom. Parking sucked. We had a side lake view from our patio(like 1/3rd wasn’t obstructed) but a lot of rooms don’t have anything at all.The service was “fine” - everyone was really nice but you’re going to get a $65/night “resort” fee for things like the beach, the car service, etc. The car we tried to use 5 times and were successful 2 times, and both of those we had to wait 20-30 minutes but not because the driver/car was out they were just not there. Unsuccessful they just didn’t answer the phone or we gave up. We walked to the front desk to ask for toilet paper and they said they’d bring some up…just never came.On weekend there will be weddings every day and some or all will use the terrace which is dead center of the hotel and like 10ft from half of the rooms. Djs and all. The beach/street is active/loud af and I wouldn’t suggest thinking you’re going to have a quiet time on the balconies.They ARE on the beach which is the only thing that I wasn’t entirely disappointed in. After fees we paid just under $500 a night, or ~$100 over what we booked for. I honestly see 0 appeal to this place without the lake view and even then you’re paying through the nose for “fine”. For the money I would never stay here again.

The Landing location is so close to Lake Tahoe and the Heavenly downtown area. The room was a good size. I loved the fireplace and heated bathroom floors with the cold weather. I had the pleasure of visiting The Landing Lake Tahoe Spa recently and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who made me feel welcome and relaxed.I started my treatment with a massage by Alex, who was incredible. He was able to perfectly pinpoint all of my knots and tension points, and his massage left me feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.After my massage, I had a facial with Natalie, who was also amazing. She took the time to listen to my skin concerns and customize my facial accordingly. The facial left my skin feeling soft, smooth, and radiant.I also appreciated the fact that the spa is small and intimate. This made me feel like I was getting a more personalized treatment. However, the only downside to this is that the locker room is very small.Overall, I had an incredible experience at The Landing Lake Tahoe Spa. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious spa treatment.

Booked the premiere lakefront suite. Beautiful room and luxurious amenities. Heated bathroom floor, and toilet seat. Top notch shower with a steamer and a sauna. Nice jetted tub. Very clean. I booked three services at their spa with Elena and it was incredible! Food at Jimmy’s was great. Staff at desk and shuttle drivers were very accommodating. We didn’t stay at the resort, just booked appointments at the spa. Four of us, confirmed at 10 am weeks before the trip. Upon arrival, we were told 3 of us would be at 10, and the fourth would be at 11:30. No apology, just a “nope, that’s how we have it in our system”. While 3 of us went on to our treatments, one waited for an hour and a half. This required us to rearrange our plans for the day and make a trip back to pick up the 4th member of our party. When it came time to pay, we learned that since there was 3+ in our party, they would be automatically adding a 22% gratuity. I am a great tipper, and would have tipped at least 20% for good service, but that didn’t sit well with me. A tip is my thank you for the service done, and it shouldn’t be something they decide / force.As for the actual treatments, they were amazing. Everyone was really happy with the services (2 facials and 2 massages). This would have been an amazing experience if the front desk would have handled things differently.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at The Landing in August 2022 and then returned July 7-8, 2023.The pros:*Location! Right across from the beach and an easy walk to lots of restaurants, casinos, and shopping. We liked that beach passes were included with our stay (beach entrance is $25/day per adult).*Dog friendly. We had our dog with us for our trip in 2022. The grounds have dog waste bags and trash bins available. Dogs are allowed on the patio at Jimmys.*Three hoof bolognese at Jimmys. This is very specific, but we had this entree during our first visit and enjoyed it so much that we remembered it and wanted it again for our return trip! Room service was very prompt, which was appreciated. We also had breakfast at Jimmys, which was a little disappointing. The breakfast burrito was average, and on our first visit, they forgot the chorizo my husband ordered (but charged us additional for it anyway).* Check-in was nice. I enjoyed the glass of champagne and the friendliness of staff.Just okay:*The room. We had a Lakeview King. The view was incredible. The room was a bit dated. We loved the heated bathroom floor and the rain shower. The heated toilet seat did not work. The air conditioning did not seem to work 100% properly - we set it for 70, and it would get to at least 72-73 before coming on. Lowering the temp did not seem to work.*Pool - it was great to see the addition of a pool bar for our second visit. Limited to canned beer and wine, but still nice. Unfortunately, the hot tub and pool both had a lot of bugs on the water surface as if they had not been skimmed.The reason for 3 stars is that we were told upon checkout that we would have a receipt emailed to us. We never received one, and the charges on my credit card are higher than I anticipated. I emailed the front desk requesting a receipt and received no response. I then called later the following day and got stuck in an endless loop of pressing 0 for the operator, ringing, and then ending up back at the main menu. I am hoping there is an explanation for the charges on my card above what I was expecting, but I may never know without seeing the receipt. Lesson learned, I will not leave a hotel without printed receipt in hand.

This place is right next to the lake with breathtaking views of the mountains. Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing resort with all the amenities you would need, rooms are extremely well maintained and also has heated floors. It is just 10 minutes drive from skiing location & down down. Highly recommend this place. Definitely worth the price.

Great spot!!The Rooms are fantastic, with heated bathroom floor, fireplace and a balcony.Service was great, the guys from the front desk were very attentive and prompt with every request. They have a shuttle service, that will drop you off and pick you up, to near by destination to avoid driving and the location is superb, across the street from the lake and just a 5 mite walk from Heavenly Village.

Before I state my negatives, Ive gotta give Carlo props for his professionalism and attempt to make it better.At night, gnats randomly appeared in 2 areas of my room. First attempt, housekeeping sprayed. 30 min later we called front desk again because they appeared again. This time Carlo tried a different method. 1hr later Carlo comes back because we called a 3rd time. We thought we would move rooms, but they couldnt accommodate. So the solution was, plug in a bug zapper. We were fine with it until you start hearing every bug get zapped. We couldnt sleep all night.Spoke with Greg, the Director in the morning. This guy didnt care about our situation. For the inconvenience, he waived the resort fee and let us check out 30m later. He def didnt make things right for us.I tried reaching out to someone higher, but i think its the owner, Nancy. Location is by far the only really good thing about The Landing. The rooms are old(er) so if youre on a 1st floor or 2nd floor, you can hear people walking around, side to side, opening/closing doors, etc. Most rooms dont actually face the water so be mindful of that. Jimmys restaurant felt expensive compared to the taste and quality of the food. The room fridge was noisy, make sure you check it out before calling it a day. The bottled water in the room is super expensive. Parking was a little odd as they had reserved spaces for Valet when its all in the same general area.The Spa was very nice and Emmanuel from the service staff were awesome.In short, based on price, quality, and accomodations, I would not stay here again.

I picked the Landing for our family trip based on the reviews and research I did for over a month. The landing is FAR from a 5 star hotel. The room I booked was supposed to have a lake view. Upon arrival I asked if it would be a lake view and I was told they where fully booked and my booking did not guarantee a lake view. I would have NEVER booked this place at over 1000$ a night had I known this would be the case. The ladies at the front where extremely rude when I asked a question in regards to the room. All my questions were immediately proceeded with a no answer from the lady sitting adjacent to the one checking me in. We felt immediately unwelcome from the moment we walked in. And forget about a glass of champagne upon arrival….. that must be offered based on who they choose. The restaurant food is good but extremely understaffed so we had to wait over an hour for dinner. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. This is a 3 star at the most with dirty carpet and patched ceilings in the bathroom that look like they have black mold growing. I wish I could give a better review but unfortunately I can’t.

By far the worst customer service i have ever dealt with at a hotel. We called for early check in to which they said they would do the best to accommodate. They didnt. They told us they were going to call us when the room was ready. They didnt. We had to revisit the front desk every hour until 430 to figure out when our room would be ready. After our stay, the front desk assured me that the deposits on the room would be removed off my credit card after 7-10 business days. They were not removed. I have been trying to get ahold of the manager for 3 days to discuss this and he wont call me back. The receptionist desks are completely unhelpful and have come up with a different excuse to why the charges wont come off everyday for the past week. First i need to talk to the manager (as mention before he wont answer the phone or call me back), secondly its my credit card companys fault (I called them they assured me they dont see anything pending from the hotel). So now Im stuck $360 in the hole and the manager wont call back or answer his phone after 3 voicemails. I have called this establishment over 15 times about this issue and they have not been the least bit helpful. WARNING DO NOT STAY HERE THEY ARE SKETCHY AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY

The lady on the front desk was kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger room because the issue could not be fixed during the time of our stay.The front desk folks were very friendly and helpful, and we especially enjoyed the complimentary shuttle ride to the Heavenly Gondola and back to the hotel too.The room itself is very open but the best things were the heated bathroom floors, fireplace and the huge balcony with a very scenic view of the lake.Access to the beach in the front was included as well.There were only 2 things I would probably complain about, which would be be no microwave in the room and no complimentary breakfast. There are cheaper hotels that include both, but not saying that I would rather stay there as the rooms here at Landing resort were unbeatable for sure!Definitely staying here next time as well!

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend and this place is absolutely fantastic! Proximity to and distance from the lake is great as it is right on the water with access to a beach. Our room had huge windows and balcony looking over the lake, which was a phenomenal way to wake up, seeing the sunrise over the lake and watching the sunset the last couple nights.The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, always ready to offer any assistance we may need, from anything to making our stay more pleasant and comfortable, and providing information about the area and things to do or see, while also providing a great, free shuttle service.We will absolutely be coming back here in the future, this place is amazing.

I wasnt told the property was undergoing construction. I paid a premium expecting the details in order for a good experience. I couldnt even enjoy a coffee on the balcony because of the loud construction. If I was aware I would have choose a different,peaceful, resort. Smaller annoyance is that the restaurant didnt give us cutlery on our to go order and one of our breakfast has a small plastic in it. The front desk service was questionable when we first came in, but with a change of employee, they were more than excellent. The hotel made our stay in Heavenly! The rooms were amazing. Our room was one of my favorite hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Heated floors, jet bathtub, gas fireplace, and beautiful views from the balcony were the highlights! Ken’s staff went above and beyond everyday to make the experience really special. Our shuttle drivers, Kevin and Elliot, utilized their knowledge of the area to send us to the best places to eat and hang out at night. The shuttles were really nice and clean and they took us to the mountain every day in style. Hot tub, pool, and workout room (with Peloton bikes) were top of the line. The sunsets at night from the park behind the hotel with a spectacular view of the lake were incredible. Overall, it was truly an elevated experience and we are definitely returning to The Landing.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. This location was really nice, close to everything. The staff at The Landing was very nice! From beginning to end, the greeting was great, the shuttle drivers were great. The room was clean - heated floors and toilet seat in the bathroom was really cool.However, from the start we were bummed with our “forest view” choice - it was not a forest, it was just a view of the buildings next door.We also had an issue with the noise caused by the people above us - loud stomping, you could hear every movement - in the middle of the night and at 6am it would wake us up. We called to report this issue twice during our week stay, and the third time we went to the front to report it again and we were told that they had called the people to give them verbal warnings and if it continued we could be moved - once we left the lobby we did not get a follow up or anything about the issue, so we were not able to move rooms. When you spend this kind of money for a vacation, it was a big disappointment to not feel comfortable and to be disturbed during the night and woken up at sunrise. So that put an immense damper on our week and we wish it would have been handled differently.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This is NOT a 5 Star resort by any means! We stayed back at the end of January and it was a trip I won through work and chose this resort based on the pictures and amenities listed on the website. When we got there they offered us champagne at the check in (I’m guessing this is why they get a 5 star rating?) but the front entrance rug and area was dingy and dirty, there was absolutely not enough parking and this little resort is crammed on a small area of land. They made a mistake with my bank account and ended up charging me over $1300 then tried to make that up by giving me a $50 room service credit. It was a complete nightmare. The bed was AWFUL! The bathrooms have a heated floor and toilet seat, which were nice but definitely isn’t enough to explain why they have a 5 star rating. Overall, the “resort” is NOTHING like what is described and pictured online.Fast forward to now the beginning of March and there is another charge on my account from this resort! When I called to inquiry why, I was told they couldn’t even find that I had stayed there in January and I was told they didn’t know why I was charged almost $500 almost two months after my stay!! I called my bank to report this as fraud! With all of the traveling my husband and I do, this is by far the worst place we have ever stayed at! There are so many beautiful places to stay in Lake Tahoe, CA so do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this place as possible! Everything on their website is deceiving!

I took a star off due to our balcony being very dangerous to use due to water collecting and icing near the door. The two gentlemen at the front desk can sure use some customer service/hospitality training. They did not seemed welcoming and didnt want to make eye contact with us. Very odd! They didnt offer to carry our luggage or take us to our room. From the other reviews on Yelp, looks like other guests had a better experience such as greeted with champagne and a luggage person carrying their luggage. Our room was run down, with curtains off their tracks, dirty carpeting, chipped paint on the walls and furniture - the list goes on. Upon check-in we were impressed to be greeted by staff at the door. Staff instantly helped us unpack the car and escorted us to our room. The valet staff had small treats for our dogs as we arrived. We were unsure about the valet service offered at first but the valet staff did exceptional! The pool at the hotel was very nice and was not busy. The room was very nice with a great view of the water but the room was small. When trying to order room service the second night we found that our hotel room phone did not work. The fire pit located on our patio also did not work. For how pricey it is we were hoping that these attention to details would have been taken care of before our stay. We were expecting the resort and pet fee but after check-out were not pleased to see several other fees on the bill that we were unaware of prior to our stay. Overall it is a nice hotel and we appreciated how friendly the staff was, the views and valet service (specially the valet staff). Due to a few details being overlooked in conjunction with the price as we plan to return to Lake Tahoe in the future we would consider returning to The Landing but will also look into other hotels as well. If I could I would give it a 4.5 star.

THIS IS NOT A LUXURY RESORT--more like redecorated MOTEL 8! Not only was it NOT A RESORT, it wasnt even a nice hotel! We were shocked when we pulled up and saw what should have been a $200/night motel. Run down, dated exterior, no amenities, small shabby pool, no lobby whatsoever, grubby little fitness room and NOTHING LUXURIOUS AT ALL. For the price, we were expecting a large, full-scale resort; $650 should get you a great place no matter where the location. I dont quite believe this was ever voted a Best Resort or that the reviews havent been padded. Do NOT waste $650+ on this motel that doesnt even have an elevator for half the rooms. (We carried our own luggage to the second floor up the outdoor stairway--for $650 a night youd think theyd offer to help.) We cancelled our second night there as soon as we arrived. FALSE ADVERTISING! For $600 you can get a beautiful room at the Ritz Carlton, which IS actually a luxury resort thats worth the price. Id give it ZERO STARS if that was an option. (And Im not that picky!)

The room was nice and the guys who drove the transportation shuttle were great. The reason for the low score is because the restaurant would not even answer their phone for room service. We then decided to go down stairs and just get a table for breakfast, which they would even seat us as they were “too busy”. We stayed in a lakeview king suite - the view was stunning! I expected the room to be a bit bigger, but we didnt spend enough time inside for it to bother me. Their bathroom floors are heated, as well as the toilet seat (amazing). Rainfall shower heads, comfy beds, and plenty of towels. The service is top notch - everyone is incredibly friendly and willing to help make your stay perfect. We didnt take advantage of the heated pool and hottub, but we did use their free shuttle service to downtown South Lake Tahoe, and free bikes. They also valet your car with no additional charge. I love The Landing! Its a fantastic boutique five star hotel on the shore of Lake Tahoe. The service is friendly and goes the extra mile to provide an outstanding experience for guests. For example, the bell boy that showed us to our room took time to show us some of the standout features of our room (heated & lit toilet seat, radiant heated tile floors in the bathroom) and to give us recommendations about things to do. Our conversation with the bell boy left me feeling like a valued friend & guest as opposed to just another customer. The best part of my stay at The landing was when we borrowed cruiser bikes (complimentary) and rode along a paved path through the woods to a nearby beach. Upon returning to the hotel after our bike ride, I was delighted to discover hot apple cider in the lobby. Ah, it was heaven. Due to other obligations, I didnt have the opportunity to eat at the hotels gourmet Greek restaurant but it sounds like it would be very good. The restaurant is led by a celebrated chef, Maria Elia, and the photos of the food that I saw looked spectacular. Stay at The Landing. Have a brilliant time.

Way overpriced for what it is; for $400 a night we had a view of a parking lot, no sound insulation inside and a soso experience. I had high expectations based on other reviews but it feels like an overpriced 3 star hotel to me. The staff is very nice and doing their best but the property lags. The best thing I can say is the location is very central and the room was cute and modern and we had a decent amount of space.

Very good room, view, and food. Valet service and champagne on arrival. I wish I had known how dark it gets after sundown and there are almost no lights right outside the rooms to walk around and the beach access gate gets locked at sundown even when sun sets as early as 5PM on winters. But you have the spa, cable in your room, and room service to enjoy for a very reasonable price before sunrise the next day. Over all Great Experience to remember!

Stayed here while getting married in Tahoe. The location was amazing, rooms were clean, and mostly the staff were SO nice and accommodating. Lynn was so helpful for me coordinating shipments as well as allowing my bridal party to do yoga on the roof top the morning of my wedding. I could not be happier with the friendly staff. Cant wait to stay there again.

This place was awesome to stay in. The woodsy decor was cozy, the bathroom was very nice. You could hear the upstairs guest walking/running around, it was pretty loud probably kids running around but, cant wait to come back and stay on the lake again. Warning: this is a semi long read, but there are so many good things to say about this place. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was perfect! We were there in mid March, and the weather was fabulous. Cold enough for your warm coat, but not too cold where you didn’t want to be outside. The rooms had a luxurious cabin feel to them. We stayed in a lakeside view room and the view was to die for, if you have room, definitely sludge on it. It’s hard to beat having your morning coffee on a balcony with such a spectacular view. Our luggage was thrown off of our flight to SoLake so when we arrived the front desk supplied us with the toiletry necessities to get us through the night. The valet service was flawless. The bar made a really good mojito and the food was delicious. The spa within the building was small, which made us nervous, but their service was good. So many good things to say about this place! We will definitely be making a trip back to stay with the Landing!

Beautiful hotel with an amazing location at the beach of South Lake Tahoe. Large and nicely decorated rooms with huge TV, fast (& free!) internet and comfy beds (maybe a tad too soft for my liking but still comfy). Bathroom with a wonderful whirlpool tub. Only thing we werent very fond of was the bathroom window to the room that only closes loosely with shutters. I understand that many like the idea of opening the tub area to the living area but I think the toilet should be separated in this case. We had a wonderful lake view from our terrace and enjoyed watching the sunsets and having breakfast there. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful!

We decided to do a day trip to South Lake. I wanted to have lunch somewhere on the water or with a water view. This restaurant showed up in a search we did, the menu looked good, so we decided to try it (being November a lot of options are closed that are on the beaches). The hostess was very friendly as were the wait staff. We sat outside on the patio which is buffered by a glass wall, and it has outdoor heaters. The wall kept the breeze down while letting us see the water, and the heaters kept the family warm throughout the meal.The Landing has a cool beer selection featuring local brews from Tahoe, Sacramento, and in between. The menu was pretty varied with a lot of good looking options, and the kids menu had a couple things my kid was interested in (this is a rare occurrence). I had the grilled cheese special, which was ham, tomato and cheese on sourdough, along with the sweet potato fries. Everything was very tasty, and the prices were pretty reasonable. I would definitely visit again.

First, all of the staff were very friendly. The location is obviously prime as well.However, for the $300+ a night we spent, I have stayed in MUCH nicer accommodations around the US for the money. The room itself is the SMALLEST hotel room I have ever stayed in- we were bumping into each other constantly just trying to walk around the room. There was not even a place to set our bags without tripping on them. Sure, the room faced the lake but we were on the 2nd floor and the main public access road to the lake was between us and the lake- there was ZERO PRIVACY on the balcony and so much commotion outside the balcony it was completely unenjoyable. The room was not clean either. There was actual brown splatter on the wall next to the toilet, the shower and sink faucet handles were so loose they were hard to use, and the carpet in the room didnt look well vacuumed. We were ultimately extremely disappointed in our visit and will not be visiting this place again. I have NO IDEA how this has such a good rating- we actually booked our trip to Tahoe based on wanting to stay here!

The bedding is luxurious, you have a fire place, big flat screen tv and large balcony. The food at the restaurant is excellent, my only complaint is that it closes too early. The bar is great and the best part IMHO is by far room service for breakfast. Im particular about my Omelettes and Bloody Marys and they made them perfectly & the next day I said I was going to have what I had the day before and the made me EXACTLY the same breakfast ... it was to die for! I also left a coat there and they were kind enough to ship it to me on them. Our stay there was worth every penny!! LOVED IT!March 2022So the first time we stayed there was when we got married and we recently went back for our 3rd anniversary and stayed two nights. We got the same room - Premier Lake Front Suite - which is luxurious as noted above. This time we mostly enjoyed the room and the balcony which is right on the lake. We ordered room service for breakfast both mornings and dinner one night - the breakfast (especially the Bloody Marys, made extra spicy for me and not spicy for my husband) was as delicious as before and the night we ordered dinner was OMG! AMAZING! I had chicken with fingerling potatoes and the sauce whatever it was - was to die for delicious! My husband had salmon and it had the most amazingly light pesto sauce! Unbelievable! We loved out stay again! Plan to come back for another anniversary!

This was one of our favorite hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Upon arrival we were quickly given our keys and walked with someone showing us where everything was on the way to our room. Entering our room and seeing the view was incredible. We couldn’t believe it, we immediately walked outside on our balcony to take it all in. Once we went back in the room, the bathroom was our next stop which was such a treat: heated floors and a heated toilet seat. You never realize how nice a heated toilet seat is until you get to experience it. We had a late lunch at the resort’s restaurant which happened to be happy hour and really enjoyed that. Right across from the resort is the beach. That night even though it was in the low 30s we went into the hot tub which made it seem like it was summer. It was so warm once we got out we didn’t even notice it was that cold outside. Such a perfect resort that we will be coming back to every time we are in Lake Tahoe.

We were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary in the very city we met 10 years ago. It was a special trip for us. The entire staff made our stay more enjoyable than we could have imagined. We were picked up by Josh, after being dropped off at Harveys by the airport shuttle. He not only helped us with our bags but welcomed us with champagne. He was great! We arrived early and our room was not available so we headed to Jimmys bar to grab a bite to eat and relax. We had the best time conversing with Steve(n) and later, Matt. Matt took great care of us! We ordered a bottle of wine and a cheese board and enjoyed listening to Matt as he educated us on different types of wine. Later that night we headed into Heavenly Village and had the pleasure of driving with Ryan. He dropped us off and picked us up. Again, another staff member that treated us like family. Our dinner on Friday night was absolutely amazing. We requested that Matt be our server and were seated at one of, if not the, best tables in the restaurant. We were treated with a champagne toast to celebrate and continued onto a bottle of wine recommended by Matt. Our meal was delicious and perfectly planned. On our last day we headed to the spa for couples massages and had a wonderful time. Michelle checked us out upon leaving and was great with every phone call I made to her during our stay! Tom and I could not have asked for a better experience. We have already raved about The Landing and their amazing staff to all of our friends and family.

Very clean resort right next to the lake. We went in the winter so we didnt get to take advantage of the pool. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They do have a shuttle that operates from 7a - 11p but it is close enough to walk to a lot of things during the summer months. There is also the restaurant Jimmys that is located on the property. I only ate there for breakfast but it was really good. I didnt like the fact that you couldnt park outside of your room. They force you to use valet.

The rooms are nicely done, and the hotel is in a good location close to the lake. If you ask for a room with a view it’ll cost you, but the views will be very good. Staff is welcoming and helpful. The Landing is nice, but there were some problems that marred my experience here. If you choose to stay here, make sure you clear all the details with the front desk first to make sure there are no misunderstandings.----------LOCATION:I was worried about the location because of pictures available online. The street looked rundown and it looked like the complex was behind an old chain link fence. I was happy to find that the landscaping has been cleaned up (no fence) and the neighborhood is actually quite nice. There is a running/biking path just down the road and the hotel offered complementary bikes. The resort is directly across the road from a nice beach on Lake Tahoe, although the beach is open not private.ROOM:The room was small but clean, quiet, comfortable, and full of amenities. There was a nice fireplace and the bathroom had features like heated floors and a rain-shower. There was a connecting door to the next room, but we didnt hear anything through it. There was a patio with a table and chairs and we took advantage of that to watch the sunset.GROUNDS:The resort itself is a bit disappointing. Its motel-style with each room opening directly to the outside, which is a bit inconvenient when it is cold or raining. The hot tub and pool were nothing special but nice enough.SPA:The spa was excellent. My wife says it is the best massage she has ever had, and I was also very impressed. The people there were nice and we were not rushed at all. The facilities were great.RESTAURANT:The restaurant was interesting. A small number of entrees were available, or you could order 5 of their small plates (which work individually as appetizers) as your meal. My wife chose a single main course and I took the smaller plates. Her steak was excellent and I enjoyed being able to sample several smaller dishes. The cocktails were very expensive and not very good, I wouldnt recommend getting drinks here. The service was excellent.BOOKING and STAFF:We booked a special called the VIP night directly through the resorts website. Unfortunately the staff didnt seem familiar with it. The package came with a couples massage and dinner included, but didnt mention that I had to contact the spa and restaurant directly. Fortunately I called them anyway, but then it took some explaining that this was already paid for as part of the special. Welcome champagne was advertised but was not there when we arrived. I mentioned it to the valet (who was extremely nice!) and a short time later he came to our room with a bottle of sparkling wine.Our reservation included a late 1:00pm checkout. Around 11:30 housekeeping began knocking on our door despite the do-not-disturb sign. I asked him to leave three times, then went outside to ask what was wrong. The man just stared at me without saying a word. After a few moments he began making an angry-sounding call on his radio. The room phone started ringing but the door had shut behind me and I found that my card had been deactivated. My wife took the call and was told we had missed our checkout time and had to leave. She explained about the package and was told we dont normally offer late checkouts.My wife and I quickly packed our car while the housekeeper stood outside the room door (since our cards no longer worked). I went to the front desk with our reservation confirmation which showed the 1:00pm checkout time. The woman at the front desk stated I do see it here, (looking at her computer) but we dont offer late checkouts. We were not charged extra but we were rushed out of the resort without apology. That, unfortunately, put a damper on our whole stay.

Valet is friendly but rooms are lacking and the restaurant is over rated. Dining staff is pretentious and the food is mediocre. The previous good ratings have inflated their egos and have done little for food quality. My group sat at a half empty bar for a drink and after 11 minutes of being ignored we left. Be prepared to have to leave the hotel to get a meal. The gym in your garage is better so dont bother. The pool is dated and the private beach is anything but. This place is over rated. The restaurant and bar should be counted as a deduction.

I would like to give this place 0 stars but I will give 2 for the quality of the room, it was nice. However, the service and hospitality of the staff was absolutely horrible. Upon arriving I was told I owed close to $300 when I informed the staff that I had already paid in full (over $700 for two nights), she looked some more and casually said “oh yes, I see that you have paid in full”. Okay no big deal, fast forward to the second night I check my bank account and I had indeed been charged the $300, plus the $90 in resort fees. I go back down to the front desk where a nice gentleman had informed me it was a mistake and it will be corrected in the morning. Okay, still irritated but understandable. Upon checkout, I make sure that the $300 is going to come off, the second lady handling this states that I do owe it (here we go again). I get it cleared up and she mentions it was a minor mistake on their end and hardly apologizes for this ($300 mistake?!?). I get this is a fancy “resort” however, a $300 mistake should not be taken so lightly and disregarded like it was $20. What if I was planning on using that $300 on my trip?!? The casual demeanor and unprofessionalism of this staff was beyond me. I highly recommend vetting your options in the area before spending $700 on two nights. I don’t know how this place continues to operate.

The spa wasn’t the best. For $40 day pass it is okay. The steam room was not eucalyptus scented as mentioned. The shower is difficult to turn on/off and fills up to your ankles after less than a minute. No shampoo provided, only body wash and conditioner. The staff was very welcoming! An absolutely beautiful location!! It’s at the end of a quiet street and looks out onto Lake Tahoe, which is especially breathtaking when the sun is setting. We came here for a wedding and the service was impeccable from the valet service, to the front desk, to the room service. The rooms are comfortable and overlook the lake, with each one a different “cabin” feel and theme. The bathroom has heated floors and toilet seat. There is even a gas fireplace with a big screen tv so we could watch football as we got ready for the wedding. Everything was perfect and within walking distance to the major hotel/casinos and the downtown shops/restaurants. We will definitely be back!

This is the first and only 1 star review we have given. And its actually a shame to put time and effort to write it but we want to make sure other couples out there dont get misled like we did. In Dec of 2020 we inquired about wedding options for the Fall of 2021 with The Landing and were sent an email with pricing and amenities as well as promos they had been running for 2020 weddings. In their email to us, they EXPLICITELY stated they were including the wedding promotion we are offering for 2021 dates for those booking before the end of the year. So if we booked before the end of Dec 2020 we would get the 2020 promos for our wedding in Oct 2021. So we signed our contract with those expectations. In April of 2021, we asked to receive one of our promos during a certain part of the wedding and they explained that they had made a mistake and that the previously shared promos did not count for our wedding. When we brought this discrepancy up with the manager, Michael Jordan, he stated, The events needed to be booked between January 1st, 2020/21 and March 31st, 2020/21 in order for the promos to be valid. In other words we were initially instructed to sign our contract by the end of Dec 2020 in order to receive the promos and then were told after we signed that we should have signed it the following month Jan 2021 to receive our promos. We showed Michael the email that was sent with the exact wording I quoted above and even though they told us something different in Dec 2020 he stated that the official contract did not include the promos and would not be honored. These promos were worth about $4300, so our bill ended up increasing about 30%. We get it, mistakes happen. But when the venue makes a mistake they should take some ownership and do what they can to make it right. Same expectation we have for ourselves as customers. We told them we would appreciate any concessions they could make but Michael insisted they did not make a mistake and were only willing to offer us a few hundred dollars worth of appetizers and food comps. Complete lack of ownership, accountability, and responsibility. Then even after they sent us a final bill to sign before the wedding day, after the wedding they sent us the real final bill that was thousands higher and billed our credit card for it. Lucky for us we had enough money to pay for the extra charges but not everyone has the ability to pay an extra 4 to 5k to one vendor because of an unexpected mistake. One of the reasons weve never written a 1 star review is because typically you can work out discrepancies with the company but this was not possible with the behavior of The Landing. The management of the Landing was extremely disappointing and I do not recommend this venue for weddings.

We stayed at the Landing for five days on a winter vacation. It was great. Upon arrival, we were met by one of the nicest bellman we have ever encountered anywhere. The folks at the front desk were also friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic -- spacious, lake-side view, and beautiful fireplace. The service remained outstanding all week. The hotel has a roomy shuttle-van available to guests to ferry them to skiing and/or restaurants. They also have a small SUV shuttle available for use during snowstorms (and not a bad one -- Mercedes GLS). The hotel location cant be beat: right on the lake with a beach in front and within walking distance of the casinos and the gondola shopping village. As an added benefit, the hotel has a great restaurant - Jimmys. It has a nice bar with several fireplaces. The food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner (we never tried lunch). All in all, a great experience.

The Landing is an incredible Tahoe experience and I highly recommend it. My wife and I went on our honeymoon, and everything was beyond satisfactory. The staff was prompt, friendly, and always available. The in house restaurant was excellent and the service we got was awesome. Everyone was accommodating and helpful in terms of things to try or do during our stay, and I honestly have never felt more taken care of staying somewhere in my life. The skiing and snowboarding go without saying, but be sure to try Jimmys at The Landing, Cafe Fiore in South Tahoe, and take advantage of the hiking and boat trips available around the lake.

Not a five star hotel. Carpet in our room soaked when we arrived because of a refrigerator leak, holes in the screen door to balcony - be prepared for mosquitos in your room at night! Saw a huge one on the curtain.Not a private beach. Anyone can go in. You get a pass from hotel & anyone else can use beach for $20 bucks. We explored it - dirty diaper, face masks, trash all over the beach.We checked in today around 6pm & front desk suggested dinner at restaurant but did not mention we needed reservations. We arrived about 8pm & restaurant could not seat us (party of two) because they said they were already full - but I counted five empty tables outside. It’s also Monday night. No suggestions for other dinner options other than we could order room service - they charge $5 to deliver it to your room. They offered us a ride on the shuttle and we can find a place that is open. Most close at 9pm.Pool is sooo much smaller than the pic on the website. We changed rooms and are now next to housekeeping closet. Total Rip-off. Not five star service. This is not a place to relax or escape. Roll your sleeves up to work.I wish I had read Jennifer Smith’s review from six days ago before booking this motel!

Before I begin, we used Chase travel with points I earned through my Chase Sapphire Preferred card. My wife and I were staying for our one year anniversary, and I must say that the place is AMAZING! Its off the main road and close to everything you need. The bathroom has heated tiles and heated toilet seat, with a nice shower that turns into a rain fall. The bed was a king, and comfortable as we slept like royalty. A gas fireplace kept us nice and cozy, never needing to use the heater. Love the chairs Im front of the fireplace and 50 tv above it. The patio you get is awesome, you get a nice view of the lake. Staff was amazing and professional. Andre, if you get him, just know hes fast and does everything. The guy knows his stuff and is funny. Stay somewhere else!! Spend the tiny bit extra money to stay at the Edgewood. This place is like a motel 6 that they thought they could renovate and call it a resort.Customer Service ExperienceLet me start with my booking. I booked the place back in October for my wife and Is honeymoon. They said free cancelation anytime no questions asked up until 7 days before. This was not the case as when we were about a month out from our stay in Feb I called and they said they could not cancel until the Covid protocols by the state were told to them 3 weeks before. When the protocol came out it was going to have everything shut down. So I asked if they could wave resort fee of $40/Day. (all this is for is so you can walk on the beach which you can get access for $20) They said yes and they would take 5% off. When we arrived for our stay neither of these things had been done. They said they would fix it and then again at check out they had it on my bill and I had to have them remove it. Then they had a valet parking fee of $15/day even though there was no Valet. They finally took resort fee off and I just cut my losses with it all. THIS IS NOT A RESORT.The room had a great view and there were a couple nice things but not as nice as the price tag you pay. Shower was nice with Steamer and heated floors were a great add. They say it has a Jacuzzi and all the bathtub is a tub with holes in the bottom that blows bubbles. They had tape on their lights to help dim them instead of putting dimmed bulbs in. Bed is VERY plush. We did not mind it but if you do not like soft beds you wont be able to sleep.They would not have house keeping come everyday. They said it was for covid. Every other hotel I called said that was weird and they had housekeeping every day. My guess is they were trying to cut corners and save money. The elevator was slow so we always took the stairs. In the 6 nights we stayed there they did not vacuum the stair floors one time.Overall: I would not at all recommend this place. Go stay somewhere else. I have no clue how they got a 4.5 star rating. Who ever comes up with those needs to go back and reevaluate.

The Landing Resort is the best place to stay by far. The service is the most friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spectacular and have high-tech features and not mention the VIEW. Its incredible. I highly recommend staying here for more than one night. Jimmys Restaurant is delicious. The Spa is so amazing; I got a great facial from Leslie. Every worry or concern you may have is taken care of. Ive never felt more at ease and comfortable.

Would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone wanting to travel to Lake Tahoe. The staff was knowledgeable and extremely friendly, especially the valets! It is across the street from the beach and within walking distance of the Village (shops and restaurants) and casinos and their shuttle will take you most places in the area. Our room was very nice and clean with a patio that looked out over the lake. Price was extremely reasonable for all The Landing has to offer.

A fabulous boutique hotel in South Lake Tahoe. Quick (10 min) walk to the casinos and Heavenly Village--but they will also happily drive you in their courtesy shuttle. The staff (valets, drivers, front desk, and housekeeping) were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was immaculate and very well appointed, with a phenomenal view of the lake. This hotel is way overbooked through all third parities. We booked this hotel by redeeming Chase rewards for two nights with a King bed room to attend best friend’s wedding. When we arrived at 7:30PM Saturday night, we were told the original reservation was King bed but we came too late to check in and all King bed rooms are occupied so we were downgraded to double Queen bed room. Excuse me???!!! We booked one King bed room three months ago and that’s reservation mean for. We came too late so there is no King bed room for us? Did you tell us we have to come early to claim a King bed room we have reserved for? Shouldn’t you tell us you have fully booked by the time we were booking the reservation or called us earlier during the day whiling we had more options? Hotel agrees to refund difference but we used rewards so it is unrefundable. It’s not really about money but the exception when reservation was made. Hotel was even very “politely” ask us if we need help to switch hotel..... what a GREAT hotel service. We will never choose Landing again.

Unprofessional and unapologeticI’ll make this as short as possible. I’m still in shock about the terrible customer service at the Landing. My family and I looked a deluxe King room through Christmas. We had a wonderful day in Tahoe, and when we returned to our room to shower before bed, there was no water in the shower. My wife called reception to which they replied ‘someone must be taking a shower. Try again in the morning.’ WHAT?! Livid, we made our way to the front desk, and the three people manning the desks were the most unapologetic hotel concierge I have ever encountered. As we explained the issue, the girl told us maintenance was off till the morning, the bellman told us to use the gym shower, and the other boy there was giving us attitude like he had gifted us a free stay, and we were being ungrateful. Let me also mention that we were paying nearly $600 a night for a room...to use the gym shower! To make matters worse, the girl said they could move us into another room but couldn’t have us stay through Christmas, and we’d have to cancel our current reservation and book a new one.Now, this is not my first rodeo nor my first supposed ‘five-star’ Hotel (which I promise you, it is not). By the time we were told we had no options, we called other hotels only to find that everything was booked, and at midnight we were not about to do the hotel-to-hotel thing. LONG story short, we took the 4 hour drive back to the Bay Area, and had to make other last minute plans for Christmas.Unacceptable service and absolutely not the treatment you’d expect from a luxury hotel, mostly because it isn’t one.

They try, but this is NOT above 3 stars. We got the same room we had back in November: the drapes are still broken and you cannot get the room dark. The draperies were not designed to cover properly and barely function. Had to call maintenance the last time twice just to close the curtains. The toilet seat is heated but gets really hot on the lowest temp -we just turn it off. I like the towel warmer and the sauna button in the shower that sometimes works, however, you cant use it without setting off the smoke alarm. Also, the sink faucet hot/cold water is hard to adjust - hard to adjust to warm water. The bathtub has jacuzzi buttons - only one works. The rest are broken. The bathroom floor is also heated but only works at 92° but its too warm so we just turn it off, too. Most everything that functions here needs to be fixed and/or replaced. The bathroom is so dimly lit I have to take the lamp shades off to see well. Toilet paper is like sand paper. Bring your own and youll be glad you did. Food is not very good.

Visited here for a wedding ceremony and reception. The second floor balcony overlooks a part of the lake and has plenty of space for a wedding party. We love Lake Tahoe and usually always stay at The Edgewood. Our most recent trip however it was fully booked. Instead, my boyfriend and I decided to try something new. We ended up booking two nights at “The Landing.” Unfortunately, what we didn’t know at the time was that we should have just held tight and waited for The Edgewood… We were very sadly disappointed with the quality of the ENTIRE lodge from the moment we pulled in. Its been mentioned in other comments, but this place is FAR from luxury, especially for the price! We immediately felt very deceived from the photos online of the hotel. NOT a good representation of what the lodge actually is as a guest. They also have very poor amenities, the pool is a great example of that.We werent just let down by the property, we were also let down by the staff. My boyfriend before making this reservation reached out to guest services to try and plan something special for my birthday. They assured him that something could be arranged easily. Satisfied, he trusted the response from management and went ahead with the booking. He wrote back after the booking and requested to purchase a bottle of champagne and have it waiting in the room for us to enjoy. It was very important to him that things would be done right. They assured him that this would be an easy request and would have it taken care of. When we got to the lodge however, this clearly was not the case. The receptionist who checked us in was not helpful and seemed to hate her job. She was very flustered and not very welcoming (maybe because she doesn’t actually work in a lobby) She finally gets to our reservation and says to us “oh there’s a birthday?” as if she read her notes wrong and then leaves mid-sentence to come back with a small 1/2 L bottle of red wine and says “here. My boyfriend and I both look at each other with puzzled looks on our faces after that exchange. Tired, we didnt make a fuss and just took the keys to go to our room. We got to the room and nothing was in the room besides bad furniture. The room was just very unflattering and just plain old. Very poor choice of decore as well. News flash, nobody wants to sleep next to a big creepy clown painting across from the bed. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The bed was way too soft and the pillows had no volume. Neither one of us slept well both nights.Overall, this place is just terrible. I lacks everything from comfort, quality, and friendly efficient staff. We will not be returning and we’re extremely disappointed in our stay. This is not a place you’d want to spend a weekend, let alone a birthday. Next time hold out for the Edgewood!!!!!

They ignore the guests in the morning, and then for the rest of the day. No greeting in the morning, no smile, no acknowledgement like “how was your day? Did you have a good day on the slopes etc...”. Their heads are down all the time, looking at their desks (their computer monitors are inside their desks). So bizarre behavior, so miserable looking staffs especially the partly baldy and chunky man at the front desk. The only nice people were the drivers of the shuttle and the 2 men who help the guests put the ski gears to storage.

Wow this place is great, the upper deck king rooms with fireplace and Jacuzzis with beach view what more could you want. A lil; ff the beaten path almost private beach and literally a stone throw front he state line. Its also very close to Hells Kitchen a must go, but make reservations a month or two in advance or go in person and get on the list for the following day. All that said the landing has a great restaurant as well definitely on par with HK.

I booked this hotel expecting a pet - friendly vibe and paying for that service. Just a little bit of a background we did the Oregon coast road trip and decided a side trip to Tahoe so you know, were tired! So we arrived at the lobby through valet parking, opened the car window and my dog immediately gave your valet guy (big guy) a protective bark (dog owners would know!) I head over to the front desk to check in, met the 2 ladies, one asked for my IDs and the other one offered drinks and while doing so, the guy from the valet (the same guy! Forgot the name) chimed in to the conversation and said (verbatim) since your dog is a barker hes basically giving me instructions etc. then he said something like we suggest you take the dog with or you can leave your dog for 2 hours etc. the rest didnt really sink in cuz the first phrase he said was OFF to me. Im a responsible pet owner and Ive been to several 4 - 5 stars pet-friendly hotels and none gave me this treatment upon check-in, seems to reprimand. I have nothing against the room and the view tho. Its fantastic! Its just the unpleasant treatment of that guy from the valet. I dont like that he followed me from valet to front desk and say something about my dog. The Customer Service is just WAY OFF! In a span of 5 mins, Im speaking with 3 different people. I suggest put it in writing or have a flyer to show to your guest upon check-in, its more professional. FYI while staying at the hotel we heard quite a few dogs who barked louder than our dog.

Our daughter was married over the weekend. The young couple chose to have their wedding at The Landing in South Lake Tahoe. If you are unfamiliar with this establishment, The Landing is a fine South Lake Tahoe hotel, resort, full service spa and restaurant located directly across the street from one of the numerous beaches in South Lake Tahoe. It is within walking distance to Stateline and easily accessible to most anything you might want. Most of those participating in the ceremony stayed at The Landing. I feel compelled to share our experience with others because this has been one of the best hotel stays I have experienced in my lifetime.The esthetic of this hotel is elegant and lovely. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the rooms are well appointed. The amenities are top notch and our overall experience was pleasing and satisfying. But the biggest selling point of this hotel lies with the management, staff and customer service offered. I have never experienced the level of courtesy, attention to detail and competency as evidenced at this hotel. Their staff and support personnel made our comfort a top priority and this level of service enabled us to have a wedding that was like something out of a fairytale. Because of their superb staffing, it was an event that people will talk about for a very long time.When we arrived at The Landing, the valet/bell personnel were quick to welcome us and show us to our rooms. Trevor and Josh were friendly and fun to be around and they eagerly and quickly came when we needed their services and help. The day of the wedding, the organizational skills of the on-site wedding planner and consultant were on display for all to see as everything came together smoothly and effortlessly. The catering staff and bar service personnel worked so well together as our guests enjoyed appetizers and champagne on the second story event balcony against the stunning backdrop of azure blue waters and mountains. The banquet staff set up and served an elegant buffet and every minute of the reception was organized and performed with synchronization, style and class. As the Father of the Bride (as well as the officiant) I was so pleased to write out the checks to pay for the many services provided us at The Landing as well as the behind the scenes help that was provided by the staff of this great hotel.As an aside, I must describe a situation that arose during the wedding weekend. Due to a crossover of age, bad medications and altitude; my mother-in-law became critically ill during the weekend. Unable to leave her room, we felt very torn between the need to minister to her needs as well as to be present for all of the required “once in a lifetime” needs of our daughter’s wedding. As it became clear that we could not divide our time between the two scenarios for very long, I finally reached out to the manager of the Landing. Monty was able to take charge of the situation by seeking out and securing the services of a private provider who stayed with and cared for our infirm family member for nine hours until we were able to fulfill all of our duties as parents and hosts of the event. Had it not been for the compassion, expertise, people skills and know-how of this manager, our weekend could easily have been a disaster. We feel such gratitude to this individual as well as all of the others at the Landing who work and function under his direction.To summarize, in the event you need a venue for a special occasion or simply a place to spend a lovely, restful vacation; don’t hesitate to book a holiday at The Landing, South Lake Tahoe. The level of service provided will both please and impress you and the staff and personnel are literally some of the most lovely, congenial and satisfying that I have experienced in my lifetime. The day we were leaving...literally walking out door...we had an emergency with one of our kids that ended in emergency room. I called hotel later in afternoon and left vm for the general manager. They do charge an extra $25 per night for a resort fee which isnt included when you book that includes shuttle service to heavenly, pool, sauna and free WiFi. Everything is fresh and modern and overall a great stay. Just wished they couldve been more up front with the fees.

Cool location with lake-facing balconies. Rooms are spacious and cozy with a fireplace and simple jacuzzi. Spa services quite okay. The on-site restaurant provided for an excellent dinner experience, but a bit weaker breakfast.

Everyone at the landings is wonderful and super nice the rooms facing the lake are very cozy and come with a gas fireplace which we used very often. we will be back to stay here again it wad a great experience.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Landing. We stayed for a few nights in their suite and loved it. We loved the high-tech amenities the room offered. We definitely want to come back!

Pro- Beautiful hotel, nice rooms, right on the water, and great customer service. They give you a daily beach pass included in the resort fee (otherwise its a fee to enter the beach via lakeside marina)Con- They’ve suspended daily housekeeping due to the covid 19 pandemic.

Spent a long time deciding which place to stay at, and after spending a lot of money for a lake view was expecting a lot more. From our back porch all we can see is cars. A let down for the price unfortunately. Nice people though just no view for it to be on the water. Advice: don’t get 1st floor!!

Lynne was such a great help in figuring out the locations for our potential wedding there. She was able to squeeze us in the morning for a showing which we really appreciated. Didnt try any food or drinks this visit. But will definitely come back to experience the entire place.

MY friend was staying there so I went to have Dinner with him. It was OK but way to overpriced. I saw his room and it was tiny. I could barely move around without touching or bumping into my friend much less the other misc furniture which cluttered the room. It does have all the highest technology and things like a warmer foe your towels bit at a few hundred a night Id much rather get a deluxe suite at one of the casinos for a couple nights and I can have so room to enjoyy stay more comfortably. And it has a lot of snobby houtie toitie guest with a I am better than you, excuse me attitude. So if thats your thing go ahead and stay at a clicky overrated overpriced trsvelodge with bells and whistles.
