Cannot recommend this group anymore! We worked with David Gunderman 10 years ago and purchased our first home in Oakland. Great experience and so very easy to work with. 7 months ago we purchased another home and worked with Alison Luce, part of The Gunderman Group, this time around and I must say she is excellent. Cannot say enough good things about her. From being patient with us during the pandemic when we thought we may purchase, to working quickly to make this last purchase happen, she was with us every single step of the way. Appreciate her and David so much in terms of selling our initial house as well. This is THE team to work with!

Our neighbors recommended Ali Luce and David Gunderman to us this past January, and we couldn’t be happier. It was an awesome experience from the beginning. My wife and I worked with Eric Wong and we couldnt be happier.Eric was attentive to our needs, wants, and wishes for our home. He understood that we did not have a timeline for purchasing our home and was NEVER pushy or tried to make a sale. We had weird times that we were both available to see the home and he made it work for us - even late at night or early in the morning. So, so grateful to have worked with David Gunderman, Suzanne Johansen and team. I had infrastructure work done (roof, furnace, windows, electrical, earthquake retrofit) during my 15-year ownership but due to chemical sensitivity avoided doing significant indoor updates. After initial meetings, Suzanne drafted a reasonable, appropriate plan and budget for work needed to position the house for the competitive East Bay market, which we quickly finalized, along with an amazingly compact timeline. Three months later, I made an offer on a new house, and 3 weeks later moved out and turned the keys over to Suzanne so her team could immediately go to work (which you will know is simply incredible if if you’ve ever tried to hire contractors in the Bay Area!). Suzanne managed absolutely everything and I was so grateful to be able to focus on handling the stress of a transition into a new home 3 hours away. As a retired project manager, when the dust settled, I was blown away that the team kept within budget and timeline (thanks to their strong relationships with contractors and suppliers) while still accommodating small but necessary scope changes. David and team’s marketing work, relationships with other real estate professionals, and negotiation savvy resulted in a squeaky clean contract after two open house weekends which closed quickly with zero drama. Agent Dede CunninghamI started searching for a large real estate office that was nearby my condominium that I wanted to sell in Oakland and so I came upon the Gunderman Group, Keller Williams Luxury division.I then looked at the photos and read the bios of all the agents in that office and came to choose Dede Cunningham. What a great choice, a pleasure to work with her. Being an absentee owner about 3 hours away I handed her the reins. We only met twice and the rest was all done by ph, email and docusign.She is part of a great team that is able to provide anything that is needed, eg. handymen, painters, repairs, staging designer, inspectors etc.,etc.She also had to spend quite a bit of time with the HOA in order to move things along.Cannot say enough good things about her! Gail Lillian was a huge help with buying our house. My Dad and I were looking for a property to invest into together and Gail was very diligent about diving into disclosures and comps so that we would know everything we need to know before going in to an offer. We appreciate Gail following up with us ahead of any offer for last minute questions/concerns we might have and getting in touch with sellers agents for clarification when something seemed off in a listing. We contacted the Gunderman Group to sell our home primarily because of the success that our neighbor had had with them. Our incentive was the great price that our neighbor had gotten for his home, however we were very, very pleased with the whole operating design of the group. Everything felt very coordinated and organized. They use a team approach that encompassed specialties for each part of the process. We were sent information about pricing and the reasoning behind it, given extensive information on how to complete items such as disclosures, and generally received timely emails to explain things as they ocurred along the way. There was always someone available to answer questions. We loved the staging approach of the Gunderman Group and were impressed with the transformation of our home with minimal intervention. There was a nice practicality to what were considered important renovations. We were out of town during much of the renovation process due to a previous committment, yet felt very comfortable in leaving. Working with the Gunderman Group conveyed a feeling of being treated with a very personal touch. We would highly recommend them to anyone selling their home.

This review highlights our experience with Eric Wong, whom we cannot say enough great things about.To start, our relationship with The Gunderman Group goes back to when we bought our first home with David in 2016. We had such an amazing experience with David that we reached back out to him in the summer of 2022 when we decided we wanted to sell that home and buy a new home. It was a challenging time in the market for a seller, with a lot of uncertainty, but David laid out a strategy for us and partnered us with Eric Wong. Our real estate strategy entailed securing financing to find a home prior to selling our current home - a strategy that required immaculate timing to execute in the face of interest rates rising. Once we were able to secure part of our financing in November of 2022, our first step was finding a home before the lull of the holidays. Eric was right there pounding the pavement with us. During our visits to prospective homes, Eric was extremely knowledgeable about any items of concern, helped us discern all the information in all the disclosures, and gave us great guidance on determining if a home was right for us. Ill never forget the time that Ali Luce told me When I hand you the keys to your new house, I want it to be one that you are truly excited to own. This was after she had been working with us for nearly 4 years, and its a reflection of her ability to really understand her clients and honor what they want in home. We were picky first time home buyers targeting a very competitive market (Berkeley), and it took us quite a long time to go from being casual lookers to making serious offers. Ali was there by our side the whole time, and not once did she seem impatient, or try to push us to towards offering on a house that wasnt what we truly wanted. She was positive and optimistic, but still grounded in the reality of the local market. We were recommended Kristin and Hans from The Gunderman Group by the listing agent at an open house. At around the same time, we were contacted by a different agent on Redfin, who helped us make the offer on that initial place. We wrote to Kristin and Hans to say thanks, but no thanks, thinking this would be the end of that referral. Much to our surprise, Kristin wrote back with a myriad of ways they could be helpful in the future and a researched list of places in the area similar to the one we had put an offer on. I was impressed by how responsive she and Hans were to feedback and the lengths they went to make us feel heard based on the little info they had from our initial email. Needless to say, our offer on the original house wasnt accepted, but for the remainder of our house-buying process, we went with Kristin and Hans because it just felt like a better fit. They were with us through every step of the process from there, from understanding the unspoken subtext behind the disclosures, to the next offer (which was accepted), to helping us get settled in to our new home with contractor referrals and tips. As first time home buyers entering into a frenzied market, the prospect of buying a house when so many variables were moving regularly was incredibly daunting. However, Hans and Kristin were there the entire way to provide us with the knowledge and confidence we needed to make the right decision on a property for us, and on our own timeline.Throughout our search we asked a ton of questions and they took them all in stride, answering quickly and displaying deep knowledge of both the real estate industry and local trends. Whether we asked about broad market trends or nuanced questions about a particular property, they were quick to provide a substantive, clear, and honest answer. We initially found/met Eric via zoom, having found the Gunderman group, listing all the beautiful homes in East Bay we were swooning over and losing. My partner and I recently worked with Hans and Kristin Struzyna to purchase a home in Oakland and we cant recommend them enough. They are not trying to get you to buy a house or push a sale on you at all. They are trying to ensure you buy *your* house that is perfect for you and they provide a whole suite of services to support you in your search. They gave us home-buying 101 tips and tricks and explained key concepts to help us understand what we were getting into. They helped us find several lender options that were all fantastic and offered a range of loan products to keep us competitive. They had experienced and friendly contractors at the ready to help answer questions about disclosures or do home walk-throughs to price out what upgrades would look like so you can make an informed bid. They made themselves available at ungodly hours to help us do emergency quick walk-throughs or put in last minute bids. They provided disclosures very quickly and helped us understand them. However, most importantly and best of all, they provided great advice as we navigated the crazy Bay Area housing market during unprecedented changes in rates and market dynamics. You could tell they were really looking out for your best interests in trying to get you the best deal that would make you happy and keep you sane. They are both also just awesome people that keep the process light and enjoyable, which is a real feat given how stressful the home buying process in the Bay Area is.Highly recommend. This review is long overdue. We started our house hunt back in June of 2020 and Hans was incredibly patient with us and took the time to understand what it was that we were looking for. As first time home buyers during a pandemic, he calmed our nerves and was always quick to respond and answer all our questions no matter how small. Even when Hans was out of town, there was always another member of the team available in case a house popped up that we wanted to see. We ultimately decided on a property that did not meet our initial dream home criteria and Hans made sure that we were making the best choice for us and not experiencing house hunting fatigue. He took the time to really get to know us and what we wanted in order to help us find the appropriate fit. Reached out to David to sell our home in Alameda. He brought out the big show with a group of 5 people to tour the house, including a project manager, designer, handyman and more. Was impressed with the teem. We wanted to do work on the house, and were planning to do some of the work ourselves, with a lead time of about 3.5 months before listing. They didn’t seem to like that much and thought the timeline was aggressive.In the follow up call, we talked about pricing and expectations. He recommended listing at $799k, with a goal to sell in the mid $900k... for a 5+ bedroom 2800 sq ft historic Victorian....in Alameda??!! I was totally taken aback. Other agents were all in the $1.3m range. Well, of course we went with another agent. And low and behold we sold our home right on time at over $1.3.I’m not sure if David and his group were just totally out of touch, or if they just didn’t want to take on the house with the work we wanted to do and low balled the price. If it’s the latter, I wish they would have just told me instead of wasting all our time with BS.

I worked with Hans Struzyna to sell a home that I managed as a trustee. A colleague recommended Hans for his local knowledge, attention to detail, ability to manage a renovation project and familiarity with trust sales. I say this without reservation: Hans was amazing.As I was out of state, Hans managed the renovation project to get the house in sellable condition.
