Ive shot at a few places around the bay area and this place might be worth the extra drive every time for me from now on if I want to shoot indoors. This place is great! Friendly staff to check us in, rentals that worked great and were well explained, clean facilities, and you can rapid fire!? The prices also seemed reasonable.

Every time I’ve been to this place, I’ve been turned away or hurried out. This last time, I got there an hour before it closed. I was instantly told they close in one hour and should leave. Against my better judgment, I stayed and waited in line. Although we had a short time to shoot, the cashier was taking his time, trading life stories with a customer (30 minutes). That same customer decided not to shoot, a lot of time wasted. During that time it seemed like every 5 minutes someone would say, you guys need to leave, we are closing 15 minutes prior to the advertised time. Finally it was my turn to check in. I asked for the cheapest ammo and some targets. I got my stuff and hurried to go shoot. When it came time to check out, I found out the guy who checked me in gave me ammo that was more extensive than I asked for. Because of all this, I recommend not wasting your money there.

Only place I go to shoot. Staff is great and always helpful. Place is always clean. The range goes up to 20+ yards. Took my little sister out to shoot and she had a blast! I recommend this place if you’re look for a place to shoot!

This place the past 2 years has become almost impossible to do anything without significant wait time. So much so thats what the 2 stars is for entirely. Staff is friendly and great, but its not very efficient the amount of time you have to wait and Im not talking about waiting for a range spot. Ammo,firearms, anything else practically is half hour wait time. Then theres a clipboard and if youre not paying close enough attention theyll skip right over you so its just not a great system. Great range to shoot at but every single time its a drag.

There gun classes are great for beginners or to just refresh your skills if its been awhile. Plan to go through their CCW class. Would give them 5 Stars if they were open 7 days a week ( range usage ). I definitely recommend The Gun Range. Its for everyone, beginners to advanced. Check them out, you wont be disappointed! So Im in town for a couple of days. I got off work a little early and wanted to go shoot. I called and asked about renting a lane and running a pistol with a dot. We talked about prices and they charge per person and per gun. I asked how much 9mm was and said I would be down in 20 minutes. Come to the counter to rent all the gear and buy ammo and was told I cant rent anything unless I have a friend with me or I bring in a firearm. I asked why would I bring in my own firearm to rent your guns, I would just use mine that is dumb. They said suicide prevention. I asked if this is a law and they said no its a policy. I told them there policy makes no sense. Im a Range officer for 3 different ranges and I have 2 CCW and LTC. Anyways thats the last time I step into that woke gun store.

Great clean place for indoor shooting. I have been there number of times also purchased an AR recently from them. . Staff is very friendly. They only charge $ 20 /lane. They also have a good selection of rental weapons including off roaster guns.They also sell guns and their prices are much better then big box stores.

My 2 sons sent me here 4 months ago, and I am now stuck on these guys. I own a business here in Sac, so I know what it takes to run a company that can grow, and customers stay happy. This is not an easy task. These guys have an amazing staff. All of them. Not a single crummy staff member. I did some local price and quality of service shopping 2 weeks ago, and no one compared to these guys. The hand gun selection is great, and the exact $825 CZ SP-01 I bought from them was at another local shop for $999... and they did not even notice me coming in or out of the store. Great experience with this place. Took my kids to try out their new guns and rifle that I purchased for them and decided to try out The Gun Range since they have an indoor shooting range. Once we walked into the store we were greeted right away. They explained all the safety rules which was very easy to understand, purchased our ammo and within 10 minutes we were shooting. Will definitely be back again soon. Keep up the great customer service cuz thats what happy customers love when they come to a business establishment.

This is by far the best shooting range I have ever had to pleasure to go to. The employees are sooooo helpful and friendly and always in a great mood, they help with all the questions you might have and will give you safety tips and recommendations even if you are an advanced or beginning shooter. This is a great place to come and shoot at the range. They have a big selection of rentals. So if you dont own a gun youll be fine. You could bring your kids. And its about 100$ for 2 people to rent and shoot

My favorite in so many ways.Staff: Dante was great in todays trip to the range. They have always been extremely helpful, friendly, informative, and concerned for my needs. Most ranges make you feel like youre always doing something wrong and scold you like a child. This range allowed me to teach my cousin how to safely operate her first firearm. Range masters were great! Excellent, helpful staff, great store with good inventory. Highly recommended

Went for a little get together with family on Fathers Day and enjoyed an awesome time at The Gun Range. Facility was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. And though it was busy, staff did an amazing job at making sure everyone was helped. Great place to visit and would definitely recommend coming here to anyone, no matter their skill level. I was reading they had classes there too, my wife and I will be chcking into that.

I walked in a little uneasy and not very comfortable handling a firearm...I walked out confident with my new knowledge and ability to use my firearm properly!! Michael Kennedy was an exceptional instructor. I registered for the women’s class, there was only 6 of us so he had time to give us individual attention. I wish I would have done this years ago. If you have a handgun in your home, you need to take this class. It truly changed my mindset from “ I guess I can” to “ I can” protect myself. It’s a very nice facility, friendly staff, and busy range. People lined up outside. Thank you for a great afternoon of training. First shot = X (beginners luck?)I’ll be back soon : )

Chris (manager/range master) is a true professional. By far the best place to go to for safety, and help if youre a newbie.Staff is well trained and knowledgeable.Cant recommend this range enough.This photo is at 26 yards, the farthest the range will let you shoot at. Only down fall is not being able to shoot over 26 yards.This place is 10/10 all day. Ammo is cheap and staff is 5 star all day.Thank you TGR!!!

My first experience was dreadful. Was assisted by Michelle who was extremely condescending, rude and couldnt answer some of the questions I was asking. Some people should not be working in the customer service field. I left the store thinking to myself I am not going back. However, I gave it another shot and requested to be helped by someone else. Totally the opposite experience! Joe was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, courteous and eager to help. Glad I went back!

I live in Rancho and was disappointed that the Cordova Shooting Range closed because it was literally 2 miles from my house, but was kinda glad because it forced me to look for another playground.I ended up at The Gun Range and it had been great. I was always sketched out by shooting indoors but this place is safe, fun, and the employees are very knowledgable.Their prices are competitive. For example the Juggernaut Hellfire retails for $70 online and they have it here for way below that price. They also have a gunsmith services which I will be taking advantage.The last time I went I rented out pistols to try before I buy. I wanted to shoot a Sig Sauer P238, and a Kimber Custom 1911 45ACP and the employee suggested I try the Springfield 1911 instead. The Springfield and I were a great match.4 Targets, 2 Admission, 1 box of 45 ACP, and a Box of .380 came out to $101. We were there for 2 hours and it was worth it.

A coworker of mines told me about this gun range and how laid back they are. I ended up calling them about going there to do my Off Duty Shooting. My first time ever coming to this place and as I went in to do my Off Duty Quarterly Qualification, I was greeted with a warm welcome. The staff were knowledgeable and kind. I was able to qualify and be on my way in less than 15 minutes. Highly recommend coming to this gun range.

I was apprehensive about taking a class at the Gun Range, but only because I lacked the shear confidence. The only thing I have ever operated was a pellet gun! However, a friend talked me into taking the women only gun safety/operation class. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Our instructor, Michael Kennedy was spot on with his angle of instruction and training. Mixing it up with seriousness and a splash of humor was exactly what peaked my attention. Thank you for a great experience and enlightening me to a whole new world of firearms.

I drove over an hour to go to this range because the Google reviews of the gun ranges in my area (Vallejo/Fairfield/Vacaville) were not very good. The drive was well worth it! The entire staff was really kind and gave me so much information! I was there for a while and dealt with different employees throughout my visit and every one of them had excellent customer service, answered all of my questions thoroughly and provided their suggestions on which firearm would be good for me based on the information I gave them. I would like to thank Jim, Francisco, Tyler and Chris for a wonderful in store experience and both Jim and Joe have excellent phone customer service as well! I will definitely be returning here regardless of the long drive.

This is posted for a close friend who doent acces to the internet. Today 9/8 at 11 I used your facility for practice. I asked to purchase a box of .380, when I used up my box, I noticed the ammo I purchased from you was 9 mm. I returned it and given the correct caliber. Approximately at 12:15 I was paying for my range time and ammo, my license was not returned to me, I admit I forgot to ask for its return and noticed when I got home that I didnt have it. I returned to collect it, I was asked if I received a phone call from your staff, I said no, I was told if I didnt receive a call, my license wasnt there by three employees. The manager came out, found my license and returned it to me. Ive used and enjoyed your range, requalified for my license and purchased a gun there. I hope in the future I dont have a similar experience, thank you.

First time here, second time at a range ever. Place seemed pretty busy but had plenty of employees behind the counter keeping the line moving quickly. I rented a lane, revolver, ammo and all the required equipment. Staff was friendly and answered my questions thoroughly. Booths were kind of narrow and it was freezing inside but I had a great time. Checked out after shooting and had an equally pleasant experience.

First time here and was very pleased with the experience. It had been several years since i had fired a weapon, so i took the basic firearms course to brush up. The class was informative but basic, well paced, and accomodating to the various skill levels in the class. After the classroom phase, we were taken to the back firing room for live fire. The instructor took time with each student and allowed you to fire as often as was needed. She was still available after class for follow up questions. It was a pleasurable experience and well worth the cost. I highly recommend for brand new shooters.

This place is great!When they are busy, it can sometimes take a bit of time for them to get to you, but you can be assured they will give you the same level of attention that they are know for.Their pricing is competitive, atmosphere is great, and the shop and lanes are clean and comfortable.The training classes offered are top notch and the curriculum is updated and taught in a manner that everyone, regardless of your learning style, can understand. From beginner to experienced shooter, you can always get at least one good take away skill from the classes offered.Having been to many facilities all over the area I can say that The Gun Range is one of the best and my personal favorite.

I took my sons here (16yo & 19yo). It was our first time at this range. One of them was his first time shooting. They check to make sure your firearms are cleared before checking you in. The staff was very pleasant. They allowed me to be in both of the boys’ lanes assisting them (the other range I’ve gone to they only let one person in each lane). Each lane has a distance meter (very convenient!). The have a large product selection for purchase and rent. Plus it’s $20 per person, all day! No hourly rate. This is my new indoor range.

Went there for the first time this weekend. Staff was busy helping the plethora of customers that were in there. One of the busiest gun stores in town that I have been too recently. Range was good, no issues whatsoever. I would definitely shoot there again in the future, sooner than later. Ive been to this range twice now and both times its been a great experience. Staff is friendly and attentive. Range is in great shape and clean. The ventilation system is great and they kept the range temperature very comfortable even on a chilly day. If youd like to rent a gun, the rental and ammo prices are very reasonable and they have a great selection.

A great team of gun experts. We went to shoot at the range and got right in. I brought a gun and we rented as second one. It was fast and easy to get checked in and start practicing. I liked the gun we rented so much I bought one after we were done. I was amazed at how fast the purchase process was. Meanwhile, my wife was shown several different guns to help her decide if shed like to buy. This was during my purchase (we had two employees helping us at once)! Try to find that level of service elsewhere. We will definitely return to The Gun Range.

Fortunately the staff members who assisted me were very patient and friendly and made my wife and I feel comfortable and welcomed.The shop seemed to be well stocked in firearms, ammo, and targets. It was clean and there were nearly as many staff as customers when I was there. As a huge bonus they had a range master on-site and available for a re-qualification of my CCW upon request.I was beyond impressed and I look forward to coming back again soon. Just wanted to put some rounds down range to try out some some new sights. It was moderately busy, but the staff worked diligently and quickly worked their way through the crowd. Once I was at the counter I received a friendly greeting and after completing their safety waiver was given a lane to shoot. The shelves in the shooting lanes easily move forward and I believe they can fall out. I would recommend a safety catch/latch or something that can block the shelves from moving. Ive been here once and yes there was a pretty long wait. First, if you havent done so already, go to their website and fill out their waiver. Second, when you arrive, take a number and just hang out. We spoke to two employees and they were friendly and helpful. There are also tables to put your bags on and its a decent size showroom so theres a lot to look at. When they get to your number youre ready to go. The range amenities were good. We brought our own targets b/c most ranges charge a lot per target and I buy them in bulk online. We also purchased 500 rounds of 9mm and their prices were just as competitive as online prices which is great. I definitely recommend this place but expect a wait unless you call ahead and check to see how busy they are.

Had an amazing experience taking the Women only Gun basics class with Michelle! She was informative and gave great instructions. On the range Michelle was very attentive to give feedback and offer tips. She even stayed over to show some of us how to break down and clean our handgun! Took away one star for the front counter staff when I went out to buy ear protection for the range portion of the class. No form of acknowledgement from the two staff members not assisting customers not when I was clearly trying to decide between two items on the sales floor or even after the rental cashier told me his register was only for equipment rental. After deciding to purchase a firearm for home safety I signed up for a Basic safety/Knowledge class. I had the pleasure of having Michelle as my instructor. The class was informative and Michelle was down to earth. I wasn’t sure about the class being 3 hours long however, the classroom portion of the time flew by and the second half of the class was in the range and of course that was fun! For the first time visiting this gun range, this would be my favorite gun range by far. The last one that I was at was in Hawaii and the pricing was less than what I paid for. I came in with a friend, filled out a form on their computer, and was able to rent out 4 handguns and got isle 6 to shoot. However, when at the range the instructor was yelling a lot hurrying people to shoot fast instructions became do this and then no your doing it wrong took one student out of the range uncontrolled mess every body was stress out. I also bought two boxes of .38 ammo for the Sunday range time the clerk said Ill put it in the classroom so you can use it sunday, Sunday came and no ammo in the classroom, now I have to deal with their mistake in getting a refund.

I love coming here the employees are always super helpful!!! Now it can get super busy at times so it can be hard to get into the range but other times it is virtually empty. The range fee its reasonable about $17, you can also buy or rent protection glasses and ear protection. You can also buy new ammo or reloads (cheaper) and they have a good selection of rifles and handguns if you dont bring your own.

I finally visited The Gun Range, what a great place. Great indoor range and they offer a very wide variety of services and classes, they have a very well stocked store with very good prices. Drove out to visit this gun range from Gilroy,CA! Myself and two other buddies from my Army unit. Had a great time at the range. Customer service was on point. Great people that work here seem to me veterans just like ourselves. We were able to connect and joke around. Love the way the shop is set up. Facing the store: left lane for classes and etc. right lane for gun range use. Walked in set our stuff on the counter. Checked in at the kiosk. (Only 2) was able to scan the barcode and do it off my phone. Went to the register and was able to split it up for us. $20 for each lane ( no time restrictions). 10% off for Veterans. $1 each paper target. Brought my own guns. They checked up on people so often on the lanes. Super clean and comfortable. Total of 15 lanes. Went on Thursday at 10am and it was not crowded. Picked up an hour later. Then less after that hour. Had a blast.

First time visiting this indoor facility . The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and spacious. Last call was at 8pm for shooters. Prices seemed as expected For indoor gun ranges (20$ entry fee), purchased 50 .38 special reloads for 17$. Will be going back!

Have been in a dozen times, stopped going to other indoor ranges since my first visit. Bring in your entire arsenal, shoot however youd (safely) enjoy, train hard and get great advice from the staff. When Covid hit and gun supplies dried up most places started to ask more than MSRP for their inventory but not TGR. Their overall purchase process and instructors are top notch. Ive heard mixed reviews about this place, but all in all I like it. II tend to go during the day, preferably mid-morning, and havent really had any negative experiences. The range is clean and has a great ventilation system, the staff is friendly and helpful, and their inventory is pretty good. I tend to show up with my own firearms and buy ammo and targets. Their reloads are typically good, though the last batch of .45 ACP that I bought was REALLY dirty, my arms were black after less than 200 rounds. Im bummed that I bought 500. All in all though, that seems to be the exception and not the rule.

This place was so friendly and helpful explaining the differences between a pistol and glock I was interesting in trying. Not only that but I had to register and all customers with guns coming in were inspected to make sure the guns were unloaded. I felt very safe.

Ive used the facility on several occasions to sight in or test firearms. Usually when the weather is bad or, I just need quick access and dont want to wait for daylight.Very well designed facility. Store, classrooms, and multiple ranges separated by doors into different numbers of lanes.Store has decent prices for most shooting needs. Not best prices but also not the worst. Good supply (usually) of reloading components other than bullets.Lanes have nice target controls for setting shooting distances and retrieving targets.Classrooms on the opposite end of the building from public lanes help with noise and, having multiple classrooms allow for scheduling.

Michael is an excellent instructor and the course was very well done. We were able to rent and purchase all of the equipment we needed in the store and staff were very helpful and courteous. I cant say enough about how great the staff are! They are professional yet relaxed and I have watched many first time shooters receive excellent instruction and patient answering of their questions. I came here with a buddy around September to shoot some of his guns for my birthday. Had a great time! When we got about halfway done with our ammo, a group of about 8 young individuals came into the range with only one shotgun, No case, holding it over one of the members of the groups shoulder like he just shot bugs bunny... From the moment they walked in the range I could tell they were inexperienced with the firearm and firearm safety. It took about two shots of the shotgun until an employee gave them their first and final warning. No less than 5 minutes later they shut down the range until they escorted the group out. Thank you to the employees for staying vigilant and for keeping me and other customer safe! Best gun range in the Sacramento area! I will definitely be back and can’t recommend this place enough!

Been here up till 8pm many times due to lines etc. This time they just changed their store hours without letting the public know ie Google website Facebook etc. Really disappointed that they turned all us away. They may be the closest to my current location but the idiocy of turning away paying customers mere moments after a newly instituted policy is beyond me. Especially when it looks like a ghost town compared to previous visits Ive made in the recent months. Sad times but later and more customer friendly options available.
