Great course overall. Pace of play was appropriate. Greens are in great shape. Driving range is good, could use some more mat tees. Plenty of pitching and putting practice areas. Staff could use some customer interaction training but they aren’t unprofessional. The food was fast, fulfilling and adequately priced when swinging in after the front nine. 3 rounds down and will be continuing to book more with my friends.

The course is in great shape. For a Wednesday @ $55 and 70F, there was almost nobody on the course at 10:30. Really enjoyed the course. Greens were punched 5 weeks ago I guess. Im ready to go back!

Excellent and challenging course that is always in good condition. The staff there are friendly and helpful. I want to thank them so much for going above and beyond during my most recent visit there - I had somehow dropped my phone on the course and the person in the pro shop was asking groups as they were coming off the course if they had lost a phone. I didnt realize I had dropped it until I was approached. Im incredibly grateful to all involved in returning my phone to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The worst pace of play I ever had! 6 hours for 16 holes! Management says they won’t do anything, way overpriced for the pace of play. I had a tee time at 10:30 too, to beat the afternoon crowd. What a joke. Not going back. Far better courses out there

They stopped offering YOC. I liked that it is the closest proximity to take my son when he needed to practice with his school golf teammates. At first, they offered both drive range and hole game for YOC members. Then, the next thing you know, they only do it for drive-range, then a few months after, totally not able to use YOC discount. 😒 I hope they realize that this program help the local school golf teams put Temecula & Murrieta amongst the top golfers in the region. The revenue from the cafe after their practice is gone, too. These youth golfers will be the future full-paying golfers later on and would have brought potential $$$. We now go to a farther golf course in Temecula, which is much more welcoming and with better greens.

I have to share my recent experience. I really enjoy practicing at this course but hated to play it because it wasn’t maintained. Played last Friday for the first time in over a year and Wow!!! Fairways and greens were amazing. New sand in the green side bunkers and the fairway bunkers were all raked out. It looked like they trimmed every palm tree 🌴 on the course. Great experience and value. Made a time for next weekend and can’t wait. Keep up the great work!!

Paid for 18 holes. Started at 1:45. Completely understand that they want the carts back at 4:30, but instead, they started taking out the flags before 4! We got through hole 12, but in the last 4 holes, we had no idea what we were aiming for. When we asked the staff member if he could keep the flags in while we were hitting, he yelled at us and then drove off

Not a great idea to play this course on a Sunday. On October 15th. we paid and tried to play 18 holes.Unfortunately it took 3 hours to play 9 holes, and when we got to the 10th. hole there were two groups waiting to tee off. This definitely has something to do with no marshall...in a Sunday??? After contacting JT Manning the general manager I was informed that we were told when we paid that we should be patient because it would be slow. We were NEVER warned, and if we had been we would only have paid for 9 holes. Not only was there no marshall there is also no management on a Sunday.Truly a waste of money.Not a good thing, and sad they dont care about there patrons having a descent experience..management

This course makes choosing to play golf here very difficult. Three different times now I have tried to go play twilight golf beyween 4-4:30, and each time they told me the course is closed and the last time they allow golfers out is 4:00.This in in late August and September when the sun sets at 7:00 to 7:10.That may be a sign because the cost to play here is $10 to $15 more than any other course around Temecula/Murrieta.The staff and employees are very unfriendly and unwelcoming when walking into the facility and golf shop. Not a fun place to be around and extremely bad at creating a sense of community for their patrons. Its quite shocking actually.The course itself is not bad, but the people/emloyees and their policies are some of the worst I have ever encountered in the 35 years Ive experienced as a former golf professional.Everyone I speak to about this tells me they have similar experiences as I do.

Do not visit this course or range if you value your money, your time, or being treated fairly.Other courses within 5 minutes are open longer, lower rates, have better reviews/course maintenance, longer hours and a staff that values their customers. Richard and Christina are the only lights in this otherwise lack luster destination.They treat their regulars poorly, so imagine how insignificant others must be. Disappointing.Visit at your own risk

We paid $40 to play 9 holes, however we did not get to finish because they have a cart return rule which is at 7PM.We asked for some type of compensation, but they refused and said oh well that’s the way it goes.The greens aren’t kept up to par there are leaves everywhere. One of the golf shop employees said that the owner is real tight and likes to squeeze every dime out of us....I played at cross creek and it’s by far a nicer course and it’s $40 for 18 holes. The cart return is at 7:30 pm.With that being said I won’t be returning to this course ever again. Anyone who has not played this course and is considering it I highly recommend you guys not to. Play cross creek instead.

I think this place is run much better than the previous group (which was absolutely terrible) but the clown they have working in the pro shop during the weekdays is going to give them a bad reputation again, too much attitude. This is not a top dollar maintained course and they should be happy to have any business.

Played the first day they were allowed to re-open, about a month ago.Course is great and fun to play, really a shame to see how the place is being ran. Played 8 holes in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Was told by the starter that a 6 1/2 hour round here is normal. Youre more than welcome to purchase top shelf h2o from the pro shop and at the turn, but theres no where for you to fill up while on the course, but you should know that so a reminder isnt necessary. There are times of the day when no one answers the phone in the pro shop. The bathrooms are unkempt. I wont play here again.

Purchased 18 holes, the play was very congested making it 3 hrs to finish 9 holes. Requested a rain check for the other 9 in which we paid for and they said they would not do it. First time that has happened to me. Would have loved to see the back 9 of the course as it was well maintained but was not going to spend another 3 hours playing it.

The balls at the range are garbage, 11 bucks for a large basket and nearly half of them are trash, not even worth hitting. Green fee for the course is a bit on the higher side considering the condition of the greens and the overall maintenance.

Booked a tee time via their website for 2 people. Showed up and played with my buddy. Pace was decent at 4:30hrs. Greens were in great shape but fairways were spotty. They did have sprinklers in the areas and showed they were trying to get them back.The issue was that next day, I got an email from golfnow stating that I was a no show and was charged $110 for it. Calling the pro shop the manager informed me that my tee time was modified via phone same day to 4. I told him that I did not call in and make the adjustment which he then started to give me attitude about Well how did my system change and proceeded to not be very friendly and at the end said he will reverse it and hung up. I will not be coming back to this course anytime soon due to the fact I did nothing wrong and was made to feel like this was my mistake. Not very customer focused in an area where there are plenty of other options to play closely.

Greens are in great shape and bunkers are very playable. This can be a fantastic course except the fairways are in need of attention. Driving range is never well maintained and the grass you hit off of is actually dirt. If there was an option for 3.5 stars thats where I would land it.

Came here 2x before and 4 stars…today 1 star. I played 11 holes (solo) in 3.5 hours. I skipped 2 holes also. There is no Marshall anywhere to be found. I even watched a guy take 6 driver shots…overpriced, greens have divots everywhere, golf carts have trash in them, and always overbooked. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Unfortunately, bad management has dragged this great track down over the last couple years. Played early and battled sprinklers in the middle of the fairways on multiple holes and maintenance drowning the greens and bunkers while waiting to hit our approach shots. Took relief from puddles in the fairways from the sprinklers being on so long. They definitely couldve done the watering well before the first tee times, or stayed a couple holes ahead of the first group. Fairways are pretty beat up and weeds are taking over the entire course. Greens rolled nice, but were very soft. Tee boxes were not mown tight enough for iron shots on par 3 holes. Bunkers are basically dirt or mud. If you play in the late afternoon, be prepared to get kicked off the course with plenty of light left. They care more about saving payroll than serving customers. The price makes it bearable, but some of these issues are avoidable with proper management.

First of all a professional golf player built this golf course and its a great course to play the greens are fast and nice.its 18 holes course has driving range, about 5 places you can practice your putting. Beautiful sunrises every morning its a little rough between 5 am and 1:30 PM because the maintenance work heros are there making it happend but if you dont mind some of their noise youll have a blast. Its a good place to take your kids,the wifey,the grandparents who ever and bring your game and have fun. If you get hungry dont worry they have food there the ladys at the grill are very professional nice and beautiful.

I housesit on this course off Couples and Mickelson. The maintenance is terrible. The groundskeeper runs around in the cart and goes for joy rides. Stops to peer into yards! So many unsightly weeds near the fence of properties. I wouldn’t recommend. The geese are the only nice thing to see.

This course gets worse each time you play. The people who own this course re more interested in making money then they are in providing a good customer experience. They just don’t understand golf. They just planted jacaranda trees right next too the greens. Yes it may be pretty but who wants to putt through flowers. They just don’t get it!!! The fairways are mixed weeds and dirt. 3 of us had booked a tee time for 2:30. At the same time, a tournament was running late and we didnt get onto the tee box till 3:30. The course was already backed up and when 6:00 pm rolled around, the marshall made us turn the carts in and we barely finished hole 11. Went to talk to the manager to try and get a raincheck for 9 holes. Manager says he has a no refund policy according to the manager. We paid for 18 holes and was only asking for a raincheck, not a full refund. My 2 star review is based on the course not managing their time properly due to the tournament and the owner for not giving a partial rain check when we paid for 18. On the plus side, the course was nice

We had a Tee time of 2:30, but when we got there they informed us they were just finishing up a tournament, but we would make our time. Well that was off; we didn’t get on for over an hour later than our scheduled time and then groups in the tournament were going around us on the course. Because of the backup, we didn’t finish, so my friend spoke to the Director of Golf Larry Werner and he said he would have to speak to the owner and call back. He didn’t call back so, my friend called him. He said the owner would not comp 9 holes. This was complete BS since it was their mismanagement of the tournament and lack of honesty on where they were with the times. I decided to call myself to try and get the owner info to give them the opportunity to make it right before posting a negative review, but the person (very friendly and professional) did not know who the owner was; although she did give me the General Managers name. When I called back to speak to him, Larry answered the phone and told me the GM was no longer working there. When I asked for the owners name, he said he would ask the owner to call me. Golf is not cheap and when a golf course screws things up, it should be no problem to comp the 9 holes we didn’t get to play. Very disappointing to say the least.

Played last Monday the 24th of Feb. Just about the whole fairways were small crab grasses and lots of brown spots. Greens were well kept but too fast for regular players. Worst of all the middle aged, short skinny guy on the front desk was a jerk and main reason why I have to give this course a one star. The course was wide open and nobody on the tee box, front and behind and wont let us tee off until our tee time. Didnt issue a cart key till 15 min prior to tee time. Didnt have issue before with other younger staffs on the front desk. Only this said jerk.

Ive never been more disappointed in a course before. Ive played this course dozens of times and its been heading downhill for 2 years. Today, the management/owners came out before dark (after a long push back in starting time and a training group in front of us) pulled our flag after telling us this was the last hole. Ive never had this happen before and the lack of customer service is appalling. After paying for 18 we get to play 6 with daylight still available. Just sad.

This course was a great course at one time but since new ownership has gone down hill fast. Employees are voicing they are not being paid, lakes are dried up and being used to water, practice range ball baskets have been reduced to less balls, and course is being over booked. Such BS. Since new ownership the course conditions and the customer service have become the worst in the area. Most recently the owner fired a valuable employee well liked by customers without cause and replaced her with a fellow Korean who barely speaks or understands english. Ive lived on this course for 12 years and played 5 days a week for many years, but over the past 2 years Ive watched one of the best courses in the area become the worst course within 100 mile radius. This may not be considered a formal or professional review but I certainly have the credentials for one. If the course continues on this path, sadly they will continue to decrease thier customer base.

Ill keep this short, the bunkers are in terrible condition. Most of the fairways are not well kept and patchy. We did not see the marshall all day so pace of play was horrible. We had to skip 3 holes to get out of a log jam, and then proceeded to get hassled when we went back to try and play the holes we paid for. Its unacceptable to skip holes, dont do it next time. Well if you had someone making sure we are not on pace for a 6hr round we wouldnt have to skip. Whats unacceptable is the condition your course is in and your marshall not doing his job. Lower your rates, hire new people, or get your stuff together. What a bad experience it was playing here. Maybe i got unlucky but there are 10 other courses within a 10 mile drive that would be a better bang for your buck. It gets 2 stars because the greens are well kept and challenging.

Played a round today. Course isnt in verge good shape. The clubhouse is run down. The restrooms are in need of repairs. Faucets broken, countertops coming apart. Overall dirty. They didnt have a beer cart so had to wait until the turn to get something to drink. They had hoses and sprinklers all over the fairways. Hit them twice and stopped the ball. They need to get the sprinkler system working.

Looking for a fun day of golf on a weekend this is not the place. After 3.5 hours and only being on the 8th hole we just left. The Pro shops a joke. The only thing I can say positive about this place.. the driving range is not bad but other than that dont waste your time. Weekdays may be okay but the course is not challenging for a decent golfer so thats another consideration. I was extremely disappointed after driving all the way from San Diego.

Must say i’m disappointed and will more than likely not play on this course in Temecula! The overall maintenance on this course is below average. GCR is usually a great track with a decent pace but since reopening they have lost control of the tee. Expect to tee off at least 30min later than your tee time and expect a minimum 5 hour round. You’ll show up to the course at noon and see a line of golf carts around the parking lot waiting to tee off. They will tell you the course is really booked but that has nothing to do with teeing off on time. They are overbooking like crazy and expect you to pay the price of them wanting to make their money. Avoid playing here at all costs until they get their act together and run their course like it should be. Play crosscreek or TCI if you’re looking for a decent golf round.

They should be ashamed of themselves for charging full price. Fairways are a cow pasture. Everything, except the greens, are dead or dying. No matter where you drive it in the fairway, youll need to find a patch of grass, or a weed, to hit from. Use to love this course. Wont be going back. Too bad.

Played hear yesterday in memory of a fellow friend. Course is not pleasing to the eye as it has definitely ran its course, literally. $41 to play this track is not worth the fee, play Menifee instead or for a lesser price the other local tracks. Staff was questionable as well, especially the bearded gentleman at the front desk not welcoming at all as I tried to ease his obvious tension several times with no luck. All n all not worth the price, and they treat you like you are the privileged one to play their course unless you are a frequent player as I noticed the interaction with a local during this funless experience. They will be my last resort at a GolfNow price. Sadly, it was one of my favorites in the past.

3 stars for great layout and well kept greens but fairways were marginal at best, a lot of bare/brown spots. I played here when they used to call the course SCGA and back then the course was tip-top. Now they let golfers drive their carts up next to the green which tears up the greenside turf...not sure what to call whats in the bunkers..sandy mud? No marshalls to be seen, could of finished under 4 hrs but had to wait on every hole for these mens club players who only played 12 holes???? I really hate going back to a course I havent played in over 15 years to conditions that only disappoint my recollection..hello Rancho goodbye SCGA.

There will be mandatory an hour delay of your tee time without excuse and no refund policy by annoying your complaints. 5 to 10 minutes delay may happen and acceptable but more than an hour of delay, there will be no reason except lazy or corruption of starter/front desk employee.

The Golf Club at Rancho California (formerly the Southern California Golf Association Golf Course) saves its most undulating and scenic holes for the closing stretch. The flip-side of putting the scenery and drama at the end, is starting you off with a few testing golf challenges, not least at the long opening par-3. The plunging, downhill par-4 12th, and uphill par-4 16th and 17th holes are three of the best to look out for.

5 1/2 hour round. It was torture. They have a notice in the cart telling you to play in 4 to 4.5 hours, but they dont do a thing to fix it. Never going back.

People are great but the course is R-O-U-G-H.....seems like as little money as possible is being spent on the course...I feel sorry for the homeowners on the course whose view has gone to hell....as I said, the people were great but its a dog track
