Sister brought a huge fruit tart from Farm Bakery Cafe a few months ago, so when I found out this was in Santa Cruz, this was a must on my to-visit place in person!The fruit tart is amazing here. Perfectly sweet fruits. Delicious crust and the right amount of cream. The fruit tart in general is not overly sweet and has the perfect amount of texture.Came by hoping we could pay per slice, but they didnt have that option. Instead, they have a fruit tartlet for $7 which is your own personal fruit tart! It is a perfect size, but it is so addicting, you might need more than one.Parking on site. Be careful there is a steep dip turning into the parking lot..so scraped a bit of my car.I did see other folks order non-dessert food and it looked quite good with large portions. Might just need to try the food out next time!

The farmers breakfast has increased from $9.99 to $12.99. Previously the breakfast was customized and included hash browns. Now the cashier doesnt ask how you like your eggs, what kind of toast or protein or potatoes. I wanted hash browns but was given Rosemary potatoes

The Farm operates both as a bakery/cafe and a small boutique shop.My friend took us here because they love the quiche and pies. Sadly, none of these goodies were plant-based so I wasnt able to try myself, but they seem to do a lot of to-go orders for these items.I went with their Mushroom Tacos ($14.50) sans queso and asked them to add the vegan Chimichurri sauce that theyd normally include in their breakfast burrito. Im not sure if my order actually had this but the mushroom tacos were still very tasty. Very tender shrooms and as good as youd expect with all the toppings.Im hoping they consider making some more vegan options available especially when it comes to their baked goods. Ill definitely swing by to try more of their food if so.Parking is available in a mini lot next to the shop.

We were here on a Tuesday morning and parking lot was full. But once inside we had a place to sit. Food was delicious, and it has a cute shop . My Chilaquiles were good but it does get overwhelmed with a lot of chips. Oh, and I did get something from the Store.

Today on Sunday we had the pleasure of dining at The Farm Bakery, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. I wholeheartedly give this restaurant a 5-star rating!They have good variety of food and desserts. It was crowded and No parking so we had to park little far and walk to the bakery.

Everything was perfect, helped us make a Mothers Day to remember. The cheese cake was rich and creamy but not too sweet. The carrot cake good but not great. The tarts were pretty to look at, sweet but not overly so and fresh with a touch of tartness. It was all about that cheese cake though. Looking forward to our next visit.

I couldnt be more thrilled with our recent bakery order. We had plans to travel to CA from across the country and had a need for a vanilla birthday cake during our trip. Michelle and I communicated about the design, and I was grateful to have her help us before our departure.The Farm went above and beyond. The cake including more decor than I expected, and my six year old pretended to faint at the sight of it. It was perfect. Thank you!

Im not gonna comment on the vibe here as Im obviously not the target demographic. People were having a good time. If I want to have a good time and enjoy a sit down brunch Ill go over to Heavenly in Scotts Valley. For food I got the classic benedict and a raspberry tart. The English muffins were as soggy as can be after walking 4 minutes to my backyard. There wasnt much in the way of hollandaise. It had broken and soaked into the bread. The eggs were covered in paprika which surprised me as I wasnt trying to eat devilled eggs today. The eggs were poached to absolute perfection though. The flavor was SO rich and creamy. Vaguely reminiscent of the eggs from my old chickens. The Canadian bacon was steamed not grilled but still very tasty. Hollandaise was hard to get a taste of but freshly made (hence it broke) and had a good flavor. I did enjoy it overall but not enough to get it again. I got roasted potatoes as my side. They werent crispy though and some were too hard to chew. I didnt eat them. I got a cup of their house made hot salsa as well which was a standout. The flavors were perfectly balanced. Heat/acid ratio on point. Finally, I had the raspberry tart for dessert. It was a very lovely slightly tart slightly sweet raspberry jam and cream cheese filling in a flaky butter crust. I would order that again for sure and would definitely try more baked goods, they all looked equally delicious. I also enjoyed looking at the little gift shop, it was very amusing.

So glad I finally made it to the Farm. I loved my huevos rancheros and mom said her eggs Benedict was delicious. I appreciate that my order was repeated to me and it came out exactly as I ordered it. I bought a coffee mug, cards and loose leaf tea from the cute gift shop. AND got some pastries to go that look amazing. So far I’ve tasted the carrot muffin and the fruit tartlet and recommend these. I will also add that all the employees were kind, helpful and busy cleaning and working away. This is a go to spot when you’re over at the coast.

Another great lunch visit at the Farm. I had the pulled pork rib tacos with a side order of grilled Alepo shrimp qith a refreshing iced tea! The new updated menu has great fresh choices which complements the many new and well done renovations to the place. Fun seasonal gifts abound in the gift shop!

My family has been coming to The Farm for years. It is consistently excellent. The chilaquiles with shredded pork are delicious. The hamburger is two patties and is just a perfect burger. The Aptossed salad is amazing. Their fruit tarts are just beyond delicious. Oh their housemade salsa is excellent also. Plus if you need a card, wrapping paper, baby gift, housewarming gift, cute earrings, etc etc etc thei gift shop has it!

Another local favorite. The Farm is located in Aptos and is known for their fruit tarts.They have a pretty full menu of other items as well. Breakfast and lunch. Great menu and some items change.The fruit tart is a staple I love; the chocolate raspberry tart and a seasonal pumpkin praline tartlet. Bonus-they also serve Verve coffee which is my favorite!

I have been twice at The Farm Bakery. While I really wanted to love this place they have a problems.We stopped for lunch over the weekend. I ordered their hamburger which was dry and came with their soggy house made chips. Worse, it came with two human hair. Not appetizing at all.My wife ordered their portobello sandwich with a egg on top. They forgot the egg. After she informed them they corrected it with a undercooked egg.We also ordered coffee drinks and their raspberry mini tart and it was fantastic.At the end of of the meal we informed them, about the hair in the food and they just shrugged it off.In short: not too attentive weekend staff, excellent bakery and good coffee drinks but stay away from their savory menu because of kitchen issues.

Local here born and raised and I love love LOOOOVED the fruit tarts. I guess new ownership, maybe trying to cut costs but the quality has definitely suffered. It started with a thicker crust on the tarts. Okay I like crust. Then less filling which makes the crust thickness not balanced. Now there’s a visible glaze and that one was the final straw. Super bummed that these treasured tarts in sc are now the same as anyone else’s except way more expensive. Unfortunately not worth the price, go elsewhere 💔💔💔

A long-standing business in the Santa Cruz/Aptos community.A great location to pick up a fruit tart for a gathering of friends or a potluck. Be sure to call ahead for availability on holidays. Sometimes special fruit tarts are available on holidays (like the fruit tart in this photo for the 4th of July).Also a great spot for a cup of your favorite coffee drink or bite to eat.I miss the days when The Farm included the restaurant, gift shop, bakery and wine barrel for wine tasting/purchase, but glad they have remained open during these difficult times.

The gift shop and bakery items are great.My only issue I seem to have had lately is them getting my order correct. I say I plan to stay so I ask for a mug for my hot cocoa and they have served it to me in a to-go cup. I can get that through any drive-thru. When they did get the cocoa cup correct, they failed to complete the rest of my order.I keep hoping it is because they are in training but I have been disappointed.The stars I gave have nothing to do with their service. I like to go there, I just have to really stay on top of them for my order to be done correctly. If it were on service alone, they would get 2-3 stars.

I went here for the first time today, and Id always heard good things. The gift shop was super cute and all of the baked goods looked really yummy. Bought a sandwich for lunch and a small fruit tart and lemon bar. First off, they pack your chips in the hot sandwich box, so by the time I got home they were pretty soggy. Secondly, the spicy bird sandwich was super dry and bland. The chicken was so overcooked, no seasoning- and the sandwich was supposed to have aoli on it. Nope :( The small fruit tart was okay, but the lemon bar was so disappointing. Extremely sweet, and didnt have that lemony fresh tang that I was expecting. It tasted very artificial, and the lemon filling was a sort of curdle-like texture. I really wanted to like everything. I dropped $30 for lunch thinking that it was going to be awesome. It just really missed all the marks. Maybe we just went on a bad day?I just wanted to add that the staff was very nice and friendly. Perhaps it was just not a good day or super busy in the kitchen.

And if you like chocolate chip cookies you have to try the shortbread one - divine. Like most restaurants in the SC/Soquel/Aptos area, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but Id rather give my $ to a great little local business than an overblown tourist eatery any day!

Cute little place Ive been going to nearly every week since I started attending Cabrillo College over a decade ago. Good food, great baked goods, and a cute gift shop to boot. Dont expect to get in and out of here super quickly though. This is a popular commute stop with a small kitchen and staff, so if youre just looking to get a latte in less than 15 minutes in the morning, this might not be the place. Their fruit tarts are also very popular during big holidays.

Gave them a shot during Covid to support local businesses and it was AWFUL. Cold reheated food. Tried again for Christmas quiches and a tart, and again a problem. Put up with the crazy, overloaded parking lot and the crowded unorganized interior and after struggling to get waited on, was told my order was not there. Left a bit confused and looked at my receipt and noted it was meant to be picked up exactly when I was there. They are chaotically messed up and the food is not nearly as good as it once was. Too bad.

I stopped by to pick up a couple of sandwiches before heading to the beach. I got two Turkey Sandos and they were pretty bad. The turkey slices tasted like they came out of a package from a mediocre supermarket, the avocado spread was thin and tasteless, and the bread was stale. I understand that the place used to have great sandwiches. Unfortunately, not any more.

I love the farm and most of the people who work there, with the exception of one guy who works the register on weekday mornings. He often is rushed in his communications and gets the orders wrong because he doesnt really listen. I believe his name is Alex.All the other people who work there are extremely wonderful and amazing. This place is delicious and a treasure. They have a huge Menu - quiche, cold pasta salads, hot or cold sandwiches and tons of baked goodness. I had the chicken, pear, apricot with cheddar cheese hot sandwich. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the combo of fruit with it was right on. I will definitely remember this place when I have visitors in town or need a gift for someone.

I have been going to The Farm since about 1976 when they were actually up on a farm and have continued going and loving it after there move. After I moved away I would visit often and have always gone back to The Farm for their wonderful dishes and desserts. Their Tarts and Lemon Bars have always been amazing. This time I just wanted a ginger cookie and sadly it was dry and stale, they then gave me a decorated pumpkin cookie in its place and was dry as well. If they are going to sell day old or older in my opinion they should sell at a reduce price so customers are aware of what they are getting.It was very disappointing, as I always go there when in town.

Great coffees and the gift shop has such affordable and unique items. Why the lower rating ? The staff seem to be more rude everytime I come. Unfriendly if its after 4:00 and they want to rush you out. Then you listen to them argue about who is cleaning what. Same manager who always closes on Sundays when we generally come. Most excellent! They have the best fruit tart which is a must take out. I love their tri tip sandwich. It is such a delicacy. Conveniently located next door to Cabrillo college which tends to get busy during lunch hours so try to get there a bit early. I usually get there around 11:45am for lunch. Plenty of sitting inside and outside. There is a souvenir section with art, keychain and clothing. Personnel is very attentive and energetic. It is in my top favorite cafes in town.

I have ordered a bagel with coffee on 2 occasions and the bagels are so hard that my jaw can only handle about half of it and they are always over toasted. Disappointed given that the bagel and cream cheese is not that cheap. The gift section is fun to look at but the items are so overpriced it is ridiculous! A pair of socks are like $10! Overall I will probably stop going here because I’m usually disappointed. I much prefer the Ugly Mug for coffe and quick breakfast.

One of the fun things about the farm is the very cool gift shop - it surrounds as you walk in, as you wait in line to order at the counter, and then after youve placed your order, its a great way to spend a little time while youre waiting for your food. Their pastries are divine. I recommend the lemon bars. Went to pick up a pineapple upside down cake from this bakery yesterday. To start off, there is no WiFi. This is quite weird considering there is a college literally right across the street. Me, being a college student, would think that a place would have WiFi if it were near my school as well as it being a coffee shop.
