We’ve done 3 different escape rooms here now and each time has been amazing! We always think of this location for a friends night get together. Lucas was our game guide for The Heist tonight and was great in helping us get to know the other group we joined with.

What an incredible experience at The Escape Game! I hosted my daughter’s birthday at The Escape Game at Westfield Valley Fair, mall and it was absolutely phenomenal. We had a group of six kids and were able to book a private escape room. From the moment we stepped into the “Gold Rush” room, Lolly, our game guide, made the experience fun and engaging. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she set the perfect tone for the adventure ahead.As first-timers in an escape room, we weren’t sure what to expect, but Lolly’s guidance made all the difference. She has a knack for knowing just when to step in with a clue, ensuring we never felt stuck for too long, but also never giving too much away. Her hints were perfectly timed and cleverly subtle, allowing us to feel the thrill of discovery and accomplishment.The kids loved playing and escaped just in time! The puzzles in the “Gold Rush” room were challenging and intriguing, and we loved the variety and creativity behind them. Lolly’s support and encouragement helped the kids work together as a team, making the entire experience not just a game, but a memorable adventure filled with laughter and excitement. The team even made a cute birthday card for my daughter while they were inside, which was such a thoughtful touch.Everything was so well organized by The Escape Game team – right from the booking to the party day. Played the Heist, it was my first time at this location. It was fun, where there were multiple rooms. The group we were with completed the room fairly quickly with extra time to spare. Its nice that you get unlimited hints and the hints were helpful when we did use it. I do feel that 8 people to a room might be too many. The first room did feel a bit cramp. I think optimally 5 to 6 people would work for this particular puzzle. It did feel like a few folks were not able to do anything while others would try to solve the puzzles and look for clues. Overall I enjoyed this event and would try the other puzzles/rooms.

We did the “Special Ops: Mysterious Market” and had an awesome time! The story telling and immersion is awesome and much better than some of the other escape rooms we’ve done!Last but not least we couldn’t have escaped without our Game Guid Lucas! He was super chill and gave great clues I would highly recommend to get him if you can!

We did The Heist room and it was an amazing and super fun experience! The level of detail in the room was so well thought out! You really felt transported annd felt like you were anctually in the scene of an movie! Each time we solved a clue it was so exhilarating! They did a fantastic job of putting together all sorts of different type of puzzles and when we got stuck they were really good about giving us the right level of clues. I am excited to try another room!!

We had a group of 4 people sign up for The Depths room. We had showed up about 5 minutes late, and when we got there we found out that we were going to be sharing the room with 2 strangers.The strangers had already started solving clues and so we had to play catch-up.6 people was definitely too much for this room and I think it was not cool to force us to play with other strangers. We were all looking forward to it just being us, and we didnt even know it was going to be with other people until we showed up.Other than that, the room was pretty cool and I think the riddles were fine. One note though... The game master kept giving us hints although we never asked for any.Overall not the best experience especially given the price. Please give people the option to play just amongst themselves.

I hosted my daughter’s sixteenth birthday at The Escape Game at Westfield Valley Fair. We had a group of nine kids and were able to book a private escape room. The kids loved playing Special Ops and escaped just in time! The team even made a cute birthday card for my daughter while they were inside.Everything was so well organized by the Escape Game team - right from the booking to the party day. Would definitely recommend to book this place for birthday parties, events, and more. We’ll be coming back soon!

This was our first time doing an escape room and it was so much fun. Our group included people as young as 6 and as old as 63 and everyone was able to participate and enjoy themselves. The staff at this location were extremely friendly and accommodating for our situation. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. I highly recommend this location and would definitely do this again.

I came in after dinner with a friend, we were honestly just checking it out, and after some thought we ended up booking a room. Best decision ever! We had so much fun, we played the Special Ops first, and after successfully escaping the room, booked immediately for another room The Depths for an hour later. We even ended up getting gift cards to go visit their location in SF in the end. The staff are super friendly, Christina especially. She made our time in the room feel unique to us, and even printed out little jokes we made while inside the room for us. (My friend asking if we were getting paid overtime for our mission, and me asking for someone to play Copacabana in the silence of one of the sections.) Even if you’re just passing by, it’s worth it to check it out, and we will be back!

My 3 friends and I did the Special Ops escape room, and it was easily one of my favorite rooms from this company! The puzzles were fun and not too difficult. Also, our host Marcee was the sweetest host ever!Marcee also ended up hand writing a card for me after learning that I had completed every single escape room with the company. We did 3 escape rooms here.My first one was Timeliner was fun. We even manage to make the ball balanced on the divider. That was cool. Jinho was very helpful with the hints and very friendly.Second room was Special Ops. It was also cool.Third room was Gold Rush. It was a fun room. The intro movie set up the mood of the room. We loved it. Jason was also cool.

Such a fun and welcoming experience! I had been window shopping with my girlfriend around the mall when we stumbled upon The Escape Game when exploring the newly developed stores. When inquiring about the rooms, we were greeted by 3 team members: Ryan, Jason, and Norman! All of them made our time there enjoyable thanks to their knowledge with our questions about the rooms and their hospitable manner from start to finish! Jason gave us a sneak peak into one of the rooms which caught our attention to want to book a room right away, Norman helped set up our time slot and refered us Timeliner room which he believed gave the best overview of all the themes and puzzles, and Ryan was our Game Master who did an amazing job at dropping hints when we asked for them! In the end we escaped with 5 min to spare! 10/10 would recommend!!

I had a great time here yesterday! I came with a group of my friends and every staff member was amazing.I wish I knew all of their names (and I’m so sorry to the ones whose names I didn’t catch) but John was great (helped me with making the reservation), Jenna was so kind (at the front desk), Andy was so thoughtful (who knew it was my birthday the next day) and made a custom birthday card and had everyone sign it, and the last staff member whose name I didn’t catch was awesome (she helped us take photos after we escaped from the room and was so warm and kind).Escape games are always fun and the staff here made it 10x better. :)

ASK FOR JASON IF YOU CAN!! I have never written a review before but I had to for this place! Ive done a couple escape rooms in the past, but the experiences I had here were definitely the best! The staff is super friendly, especially Ango at the front who will assist you in booking rooms and will happily answer any questions you have. Ive done three rooms here so far (Timeliner, Depths, and Heist) and I cant wait to finish the rest of them! They are all incredibly creative and fun, plus if youre having a hard time solving puzzles you can ask for as many hints as you need. Jason was my game guide/master for all three rooms I did and he was also super friendly and made sure we had a 5/5 experience! He helped us get acquainted with the other group that my group was in the room with, and provided helpful hints when we were stuck. As I mentioned, there is a chance you could be paired with another group in the escape room, but if you dont have a good experience with them let the staff know! Jason and Ango really made my time here memorable and enjoyable so I highly, highly recommend you come to this location if youre looking for an hour of fun puzzling with people who really care about your experience! :)

Most probably one of the best escape rooms I have experienced. Puzzles and clues were tied so closely with technology it made interacting with the puzzles engaging and mesmerizing. Absolutely loved the interaction with the clues. We played the Timeliner 110% would recommend.

If youre looking for something nice and different to do to spend time with friends, family, etc this is the place, its not very hard and not very easy as well, and I really like the fact that theres unlimited hints lol. But the one fact that didnt make my visit 100% pleasant was that they didnt informed our group that another group of strangers would join us, so we got there and we were very confused because we thought it would be just our party, they said this information was on their website but I didnt saw it, so make sure you check that if you want to have the room all for your party

My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to play two different escape rooms, the Timeliner and the Depths. We had a lot of fun, and our game guides, Daphne and Gabby, were AWESOME! I was not aware that you may have to share the room with strangers, and was super disappointed when I showed up and found out that we’d be doing it with two other groups. The staff were super nice and helped me reschedule and made sure it was a private room. The room was amazing and Cristina helped us when we got stuck. I cannot stress how amazing this place is. The fact that Im writing this review when I never write reviews proves it.Been three times here and wanted to shoutout Lolly who is the best game master and is so insanely sweet. Not only does she give the best hints, but each time weve had her, shes made me and my group cards to celebrate our time together. Her kindness is so appreciated.Done three rooms (Timeliner, Gold Rush, Heist) and all have engaging and fun puzzles that arent unnecessarily hard. The sets are well themed and its the little touches that made it so much fun. During the heist for example, you actually need to look through a real book to solve a puzzle! Each room has a good mix of high tech fun (Timeliner has some crazy effects that make it a stand out room) and practical hands on challenges. This is not your average go unlock this, put this code in here place. In Gold Rush, you will be searching for actual gold nuggets. And the Heist has a bunch of fun practical set pieces that I wont spoil here. Trust me, theyre all fun and engaging rooms.Weve had one booking mix-up here (we booked for a private room, but it wasnt made private online so showed up to find it had been double booked) and the way they handled it was amazing. First, they refunded us and gave us the next escape room on them. But they also profusely apologized and then gave us some free online escape games so we could play together while we waited for our new date. Then, when we showed up for our rescheduled game, they apologized again for the mix up and gifted us their board game. This customer service went above and beyond our expectations and we truly appreciated it.Were three friends that have to coordinate a lot to be able to find time to hang together so these little gestures by the staff meant so much to us. We honestly dread finishing all these rooms because we want to keep coming back!

My friends and I did the Special Ops room. It was a very well designed escape room with lots of cool gadgets and ways to unlock clues / new rooms. It was challenging but doable with the hints we requested. Michael was our game master and explained everything very concisely. This was the most fun escape room I’ve been to so far! I would definitely come back here again!

Fantastic experience! Perfect for a date night, weve played quite a few but this was our first joining other groups and we worked well together! Ryan was very friendly and a great game guide! One thing Id recommend is there is a video that plays about halfway through that id recommend adding subtitles to and also be advised its very warm in the rooms so dress cool!Definitely want to go back for the other rooms!

I went on a date there and we had a blast. We did Gold Rush, and even though it was just the two of us in the room, we were able to finish it with 3 minutes remaining on the clock! Note that we were both very new to escape rooms, only having done a few in the past with others. Our game master, Lola, was amazing and provided us with good clues that didn’t give away any answers but helped point us in the right direction. We will totally do this again!

This place will group you with others, meaning the room is not private. In general, I am not a big fan of this - but I’m so glad I did it because I met so many nice people:D. It was a really good experience! I was expecting it to be awkward, but I was pleasantly surprised.We escaped with 14 minutes left on the Heist! The room itself is very fun, the puzzles are unique! Everyone contributed a fair amount, which was very good.The staff are very nice, and they put a lot of effort in making sure guests have the best experience. Props to Brianna, Nick, and our GM. Not only did they add the final touches to the experience, but they seem like very cool people in general!I will update more things because I did more!We did The Depths and escaped with 20 minutes. The room is definitely on the easier side, it could be done will less than 8 people in my opinion. However, the room wasn’t super linear, so people were not left standing around. Super fun escape room experience! Came here with my best friend and we played through “The Depths” with Michael as our game guide. [No spoilers!] We managed to get through the room with one hint and 13 mins to spare! (We work really well together so just two of us was plenty, but there was definitely enough to do for 3-5 players.) All the staff members were very pleasant and Michael was awesome, super friendly, and made sure to set us up perfectly for the room. I’ve done a few escape rooms in the past and have found some of the puzzles to be a bit repetitive, but each individual mini puzzle in this room was fun and engaging, and the experience as a whole was just the right amount of challenging! 100/10 would recommend— will definitely be back to try some of the other rooms at some point. My friends and I visited a couple days ago and I have to say they have the best customer service. Starting with our Bestie Norman who was funny, welcoming, and informative throughout our whole time there. He is the best!! Our guide, Alecks, was super nice and friendly as well, making sure that we knew what to do and that we were doing good. They went above and beyond! We went with Gold Rush room which was a good challenge not only with mental problem solving but tested us with our physical strength and coordination as well. 100% will come back and 100% recommend!!

This was an awesome experience! Shayden made our time super fun and gave hints at the right times. The room is intricate, highly detailed, and everything makes sense with the direction of the game (not too many misdirections but enough to keep you on your toes). There was a minor hiccup at one point and the teams customer service was above anything we expected. Would love to come back and try another room.

Very fun rooms! Michael was great. Weve done a couple here now and both of them were surprisingly interactive - lots of physical puzzles where youre moving and manipulating objects in the room and melding multiple points of interest to solve one central puzzle.The special effects used have also been fantastic! The way the rooms open up to different chambers or simulate things like an elevator were both visually impressive and added a lot to the immersion. I was an especially big fan of their use of digital elements beyond the screen used to communicate with you throughout the experience. One room in particular had what was essentially a video game that used multiple buttons around the room to control, leading to a fun and hectic communication exercise.Would absolutely recommend if youre in the area. Definitely not the most difficult rooms, but the theming is good and the production value is very high.

This is in no way a negative review on the staff working there, they were very nice! However, the escape room thing as a whole is awful. I had a party of 5 that reserved at the time we wanted and the room. When we got there they told us as we were waiting that 3 people would be joining us. We all were confused and kind of annoyed that it wouldnt be a private game especially since its $45 for each person. So, not only are you making us pay a big amount, youre also making it so anyone can be a part of the game party? Yeah, no. That annoyed me and my group very much especially since it was my birthday. I was just trying to have a private time to do something I enjoy with my friends. However, I chose not to verbally express my annoyance and just complied. The strangers were nice, and I have no ill will towards them, however I just wish we werent shoved together because 8 was too much of a crowd in those small rooms.On top of that the escape room we had was basically only 2 rooms. Which I expected more rooms to go in so I was very disappointed with it being only 2 rooms. I get that its in a mall so the space is limited, but then go quality over quantity. Just have 3 games and utilize the space to make those 3 games fun and exciting with lots of hidden nooks and crannies instead of trying to cram 5 games and having 2 rooms each. It was a very disappointing experience, and I recommend to look elsewhere for a better escape room experience. Because this escape room is obviously just after the money more-so than the experience of having fun escape rooms. Save yourself $45 .

This is the second time I have done an escape room with this company and both times my expectations were exceeded.My girlfriend and I did the Timeliner room and made it out with 14 minutes to spare. The puzzles were well crafted and the difficulty made sense. There were a couple instances where we had to ask for hints and got stuck, but thats okay.All in all a great experience and definitely would recommend.Their customer service was outstanding from start to finish as well! Big thanks to the team for making the experience so enjoyable!

Ive done more than a hundred escape rooms and the production and puzzles are very good here. Good parallel puzzling, decent flow and difficulty. Rooms seem to accommodate more people than is ideal, perhaps more so if youre experienced. We really enjoyed the escape rooms here. The sets were amazing and the story line of each game was very cool. We have almost done all of the rooms here (except for one). The Game Guide was also very helpful - although we had the option to always hit a button for a hint, every time our group focused on solving a part of a puzzle, we would get a hint for where we were stuck at. EDIT: This is my second review because last night, only about a week and a half later, my friends and I beat The Depths, completing every room at The Escape Game San Jose. The puzzles and rooms here are of an incredible quality, very high tech, with clever puzzles that challenge you, but are always a ton of fun. We loved the games so much that we made a dedicated trip up to SF exclusively for Prison Break! Genuinely can’t recommend this place enough - the staff are also incredibly welcoming and helpful (shoutout to Cesar who was our game guide for our very first game, and the receptionist at our last) and also Jason (I think- I’m sorry if I got it wrong!) who was our wonderful game guide for The Depths!Also, literally ALL of the games are fantastic, I can’t even rank them cause I think they’re all genuinely really good. Each of them individually could be the best escape room I’ve ever played.
