Super fun courses that not only help increase your flexibility but they have flexible scheduling themselves. If you are trying to sneak classes into a spontaneous busy work week this is the place! The staff is super friendly and compassionate toward beginners and will help adjust class content to help you meet your goals. They have amazing attitudes that really help people build a routine thats long lasting.As for environment they do a great job and keeping the place clean and running smoothly. The place is so cute and they have a great lounge with showers too in case a class happened to be a little intense and you need a breather.

The staff is kind and helpful at The Center Yoga. I enjoy that the length of the class is a little over an hour and that this studio isn’t overly crowded. The variety of classes is nice, my favorite is restorative. Unfortunately because of my work schedule it’s not always easy for me to find a class that works within my schedule but overall I really enjoy coming to The Center.

Over the years, I’ve attended numerous drop-in classes at The Center. I have always been highly impressed with the expertise, professionalism, and kindness of the instructors. The environment is clean, welcoming, and tastefully yet minimally decorated. The main yoga room is bright and you can hear the creek running below. It’s a treat to attend any class here

I started going to the center a few months ago after going to a few classes at my school.It has become not only my favorite workout, but also my mental health break, and recharge. There isn’t a more warm and welcoming environment, I get so excited to bring people who have never even tried yoga here because I know they will be so comfortable. I am so grateful to my roommate for introducing me to this amazing place!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the classes are varied and there is something for everyone. My only complaint is that I don’t live closer! (: I would definitely recommend a membership to any SLO local and I’ll definitely make the trip down the grade for occasional classes myself.

I love taking classes at The Center! There is a huge variety of classes, most being accessible to all skill levels. All of the instructors Ive had a wonderful: encouraging, kind, challenging in the good way, and there to better your practice and make sure youre practicing safely for your body. The studio is an extremely welcoming environment with a wonderful community! There are also wonderful amenities at the studio, with multiple accessible showers, a beautiful balcony, and different spaces to rest and hang out before and after taking classes!

I just finished my two week trial at The Center SLO and had a wonderful experience. The teachers I witnessed were all very well informed and unique in their teaching styles, and there is a nice diversity in yoga styles. The biggest problem I had was the parking situation is pretty limited, but that made me ride my bike more!

I love The Center! The yoga studio space is very welcoming and warm. I highly recommend Lily’s aerial yoga classes! Lily does a great job in making aerial fun, silly, and accessible. There’s often plenty of beginners (myself included) which makes it less intimidating. We are so lucky to have this as an option in SLO, so I encourage you to try it out!

Moved here from San Diego where there are about 5 yoga studios on every corner and was scared that I wasn’t going to be able to find the right studio for me. But then I found The Center, it is absolutely incredible! The instructors are warm and inviting and always willing to help you, if you get stuck (literally in a position) or need to be child poses to catch your breath! Very happy that I was able to find The Center!!

There are many reasons why I love being apart of The Center Yoga StudioYoga practice at The Center has been the best thing I’ve been apart of. They also offer Pilates, Sculpt, Center Barre, and Fit Flow classes along with the multiple styles of yoga classes from heated to non heated.I am 28 years old, I have played many sports and have been very active with swimming, hiking, running, weight lifting, etc.From 23 years old I suffered from sciatica and aching lower back pain, leaving me unable to live the active life to the extent I’ve always been used to, this left me mentally and physically not at ease, going to the chiropractor was a regular occurrence, since starting regular yoga practice my back pain is basically gone and I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have, from having a lower back strain at 23 years old that had me not able to even hold onto a gallon of milk without feeling extreme pain to 28 years old and no longer visiting a chiropractor.It is tough to put into words what The Center has done as far as improving my mental and physical health, I am forever thankful I joined this community of healthy, mindful individuals.Since attending class I have decided to attend The Centers 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training which starts on September 22nd 2023. If you have the availability on weekends and want to be apart of an awesome program I have family and friends who all have had great things to say and I can’t wait to get started myself. They have info on their website!If you want to be the best version of yourself and be apart of an awesome SLO community join The Center for classes, and go to Yoga Teacher Training to deepen your knowledge and personal practice, it will be the best decision you make for yourself.Practice consistently, challenge yourself and remember to smile when class gets tough.

I researched each and every yoga studio in the county because I, like many folks, had not been into a yoga studio since the pandemic. I have been practicing yoga (both with instruction and home practice) for 30 years. I was ready to invest in a yearly membership at a yoga center which offered a variety of classes, times, types of practices. The Center does all of that. At my first class, Gentle Yoga with Smita, I felt comforted by smiling faces, sparkling clean floors, large gorgeous windows looking out onto beautiful green trees. Smita, Astrid and all of the other teachers I have come to love are genuine souls who emphasize to us that we should focus within the 4 sides of our yoga mat. Look within and be present. I love that even in a Gentle Yoga class, you can modify and take it to different levels. I even attended a hot yoga class on New Years Day which was very challenging but felt so rewarding at the end of the class. Great workout! One of my biggest hesitations about the location was downtown parking. With the new free hour of parking, it is fun to come down, take a yoga class and stroll through and have a look downtown. Worth the extra hour on the meter. There is also free parking on the side streets just a few blocks away from the studio. A quick 5 minute walk gets my body warm and ready for class ahead. I highly recommend this yoga studio for the value it brings. It is a clean and safe place to stay committed to a yoga practice that might be put on the back burner as mine had. I encourage everyone interested to download the app and see all that The Center has to offer. Try the intro special and attend as many classes as you can. Youll be wishing you had joined sooner! The Center is an awesome facility and workout place. I love the studio itself, there are 2 studios with an outdoor patio to cool off after a hot class. Every instructor has provided an awesome class with a different flow. Each class I have taken has been awesome!

The center is the best!!! There are so many different time and class options from a more relaxed yoga or energetic cardio workout to a Pilates or barre class. It feels like a community as soon as you walk in the door and has become my favorite part of my day.

SLO Yoga Center is the best yoga studio in San Luis Obispo. Im not 100% certain but I am pretty sure it is the ONLY yoga studio that uses infrared panels to heat the room!! Infrared heated is the absolute best because it is a cleaner heat and it is beneficial for your muscles and skin. Compared to other heated rooms that suck out the moisture.The instructors are amazing! Brooke Ludington leads an amazing flow in her unheated Center Flow class, itll make you drip sweat!

Being a member at the The Center genuinely adds to my life so much. All the instructors have a different approach to teaching yoga and they offer a range of really fun classes. They will really challenge you and somehow I always leave feeling peaceful and better than I was before class. The studios also have amazing views of madonna and bishop peak! I would definitely recommend the center.

I initially wasnt a massive fan of yoga and started going to the Center more for health benefits than enjoyment, but was pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend it to anyone. The teachers are all incredibly wonderful, radiant, and full of positive energy and the environment is grounding. I really love the sense of community that is fostered and how it was not just a physical experience, but also a mental, emotional, and spiritual one. Can easily say this is one of the most beautiful yoga studios I have been to in the world. On par with spaces in the Sacred Valley, Bali, Hawaii and beyond. Views of SLO mountains like no other. Very intentional community space. I have made so many wonderful friends in practice here. Regulars at every class. I love how teachers encourage everyone to talk to each other, slow ourselves down, say hello, and create connection. Favorite teachers are Meg, Morgan, Denise, and Andrew Stackhouse. I am grateful for the SLO yoga center and all that it brings to make home a special and safe place.

The Center is by far my favorite yoga studio in SLO. From Denise’s heated Pilates classes to Morgan’s Center Flow, I have enjoyed all of the classes and varieties of classes offered as well as the amazing and inspiring instructors. I’ve been coming to The Center for about a year now and I love it. The studios are spacious and inviting, with great lighting/audio and plants placed about. The teachers I practiced with have been knowledgeable and creative with sequencing. I love Leslie’s monthly Qoya classes, as I always feel refreshed and more peaceful after dancing it out. Im so happy I found The Center--who knew there was such a beautiful yoga studio in the heart of downtown SLO. There are three different studio rooms at three different levels, all serving unique purposes. I personally love their barre and aerial yoga classes. The aerial class in particular is such a unique experience. The app makes it so easy to sign up for classes, & I love seeing how many different offerings they have. I have been doing the 2 week trial and I love it. The community is awesome and the teachers are so spirited and understanding of each students abilities. I especially love the heated yoga and Pilates classes. It is such an amazing way to both start and end your day drenched, ridding your body of pent up stress and tension while also feeling stronger and more stable throughout your day. I have taken many of Ellie’s aerial yoga classes at The Center SLO. They are my favorite! Everyone that works there is very kind. Matt greets me by name every time I check in. Ellie is a wonderful instructor!! She’s super friendly and nice. She does a great job with demonstrating and providing several variations or modifications for us to choose from. She is quick to notice and assist you if your form/pose is incorrect, and always there to spot you when she sees you need help or you think “you’re ready” to do that new trick. Her classes are really fun and also a nice challenge, which is why I keep coming back!

I am a new member to The Center SLO and I am so glad that I found it! I love the variety of classes that are offered, it gives you chance to try new things like aerial! The Center SLO is a great studio; Lots of different types of yoga styles/levels. There are two different studio rooms. One sometimes has a bit of heat with infrared panels which I love. I love the Center SLO. I started teaching classes in 1996 (!!) and have been a part of many gym and studio communities. This one is special. The instructors are TIPPY TOP notch, the people are amazing, the studio spaces are gorgeous. And the balcony, outdoor shower!! I have been going to this studio off and on since I moved to SLO a few years ago and its stayed one of my favorites. It is clean, beautiful (the inside space is so lovely and ideal for practice with its high ceilings and big windows with a gorgeous view!) and welcoming. I have also done a few virtual offerings and those have been equally good. All of the instructors are wonderful, some teach at other studios in town so its nice to see familiar faces!

I was eager to find a yoga center that would host classes in-person, but responsibly as many across the county, including myself, were becoming vaccinated. The Center has adjusted their practice to coincide with health guidelines as they change, being thoughtful about sanitizing community props.I personally have enjoyed both Yin and Restorative yoga classes there. I have always had plenty of space, the rooms are large with open windows and ventilation. I see a variety of ages and abilities in clientele so I dont worry about feeling out of place. I feel welcomed by the front desk and the instructor every time.

I love this studio, the owners and the entire staff are so welcoming and kind. They have a wide variety of classes from barre, to sculpt and all levels of yoga classes. They are an asset to the community, and routinely offer donation based classes on holidays. I cannot say enough positive things about Slo yoga center. The only drawback is that I can’t attend more classes as I work retail hours and can really only visit the studio on my days off. I had not been to yoga in a long time and I put on alot of weight and struggle with flexibility. At the end of hot yoga with Stack, he explained to me how yoga had changed his life with weight, mood, and other obstacles. Says we change by degrees and told me about neuroplasticity. I was really inspired and emotional on how supportive and understanding he was. As a long time yogi and guide, I came to The Center looking for community and connection to the practice I love so dearly. Taking advantage of the introductory 2 week pricing during a vacation week allowed me to attend many classes and understand the culture of the studio. I was lucky to find Smita who teaches ‘Gentle Yoga’ . As soon as I entered her class, I knew it was the perfect setting for me. Though it’s capped gentle yoga, it is actually more attuned to the traditions of yoga, starting the class with a Hindi prayer of teacher student connection. This prayer I haven’t heard since my own training. It’s a well balanced class, moving through asana after deep meditation. If you can make this class, I encourage it greatly. And if you’re looking to make yoga asana your exercise practice, The Center has plenty of classes for that as well. I’m on my way to yin class. After will be community class. Very much looking forward to this offering as well.

As soon as I walked into the building, I felt welcomed. The front desk staff member warmly explained the layout of the space and showed me where the class would be held. As I was one of the first to arrive, I got to witness the teacher, Leslie, interacting with her community of students. Things get tight. Old injuries flare up. Ive resisted yoga - preferring something that felt like it was building more strength or endurance or skill. Then I hit the injury wall, so I started at the Center and oh man everything feels waaay better after 2 weeks. The heated power classes are hard, the slow classes are hard, the people are chill and nice, there are showers... its really quite lovely. Amazing yoga studio with kind hearted instructors, staff, and other members. The location is a big plus for me as well. The studio is on the creek and I love looking at the trees and listening to the birds during class.

I have been attending the center regularly now for about a month and I could not recommend it more! There are classes early in the morning, throughout the day and late in the evening. If you have a busy schedule you can always find something that you can fit in.

The classes are challenging, or relaxing and stress reducing, depending upon what you’re needing and so heartfelt, and soulful, the teachers are very talented and I feel extremely safe and protected even in these days during the end of the Pamdemic. I just realized that the downtown location has 3 separate rooms! Barre downstairs and heated yoga up on the 3rd floor. And not only that, the heat is infrared! I have been wanting a yoga studio to have this here in SLO…. I had no idea we did! It’s the best! You get warm and break a sweat, but not in that steamy oppressive heat kind of way— It allows you to create heat in your body without feeling like the room is hot. 🤯 Thank you SLO yoga center for bringin’ the (infrared) heat!

I (used to) know next to nothing about yoga. Ive been going to the Friday noon heated class with the boss and THE BOSS Andrew Stackhouse at the helm. Its great, I sweat my butt off and am slowly getting better at the poses. The class is super encouraging and Ive always felt comfortable!

The Center is a warm, welcoming place (the location is good too - very central!). The classes suit every person and mood. The classes are small though (maybe because of covid?) so booking way in advance is recommended. However, there is (almost) always the option of doing the class virtually.

Always enjoy the classes. All of the instructors try and give options so everyone, regardless of limitations can do the best they can. It is not just yoga. The HIIT and Sculpt classes are fantastic workouts that concentrate on core strength. The only hiccup was a difficult web-site software transition, but the owners tried their very best to make it right.

I love this place! I am an older, intermediate student, and I have taken classes from nearly every teacher. Each teacher has something unique and wonderful to offer. I thought the fact that many of them are young would mean they might not know as much. I am humbled and honored to have this beautiful group of people lead me deeper into my practice of yoga.

Originally at the railroad tracks, now in two locations. Vinyasa flows and such that were all familiar with. Taught here years ago, yoga can only carry you so much and sometimes you fall in life, change courses, wax and wane and make foolish mistakes however the intention of the studio owners is intense and the teachers here are profound. At one point I was unhappy with where I was at and they offered to rent me the space above the studio. Highly recommend the restorative aerials as kind of a new age iyengar yoga and also recommend niccolas classes if you want to move your practice along. Listen carefully to what the teachers say and push your edge in all directions.
