The Cal Agents team has been outstanding. They have been managing my property for several years now and continue to provide excellent service. The team is very professional and hard working. The team is highly experienced with deep knowledge of the local market. Camille has been especially helpful and very responsive to all my questions. I definitely recommend them.

LOOK AT ALL THESE FAKE REVIEWS!!! We have lived in 4 separate residences in the Bay Area and this place was by far THE WORST! I do not even know where to begin with this group of impressively incompetent people. They did not disclose the fact that we would be experiencing 10 months of construction right after our move in date. We noticed a broken washer in our walk through and they then spent 4 months of the dumbest project management I have experienced to get us a new one, including: not measuring the space, breaking the first new washer in transit, and then not checking the electrical outlet and then having to do entirely new electrical work for washer to function. Everything was always broken! Either the elevator, or if not that then the pool, and if not that then the garage doors. The rental group and the HOA are a floor away from one another and refuse to work together like they are teenage girls who dont like one another, which makes getting anything done within your apartment impossible. Your experience is also based on your condo owner and if they are cheap and hateful people and dont want to approve the money needed to unclogged your sink, then enjoy your clogged sink. It is impossible to underestimate how useless the entire staff there are. No answers to calls, questions, emails. If I could undo one decision in my life it would be moving here. Please for your own sanity, look elsewhere to live, or dont come crying to me when they steal over half your security deposit because they needed to improve the towel rack. Screw this place and the awful people who run it.

If you are thinking about renting with Cal Agent, be cautious and please look somewhere else. It will save you hours of frustrations and headaches.They frequently fail to return security deposits with standard maintainance fixes that they should cover, car are always getting broken in, things are always breaking like the elevators, pool, or spa, and their response times to maintenance and repair requests are terrible. I would recommend to save yourself money and time by avoding them at all cost.

The Cal Agents is a fantastic team! They are very diligent and hardworking group of people. I’ve been working with them on multiple projects and have never had anything go wrong. You can always put your trust in this team. I want to specifically shoutout Hermi, because I have worked with her the most. I had contacted maintenance and spoke with Jade and informed her of several items in my apartment that needed repairs. I had some window locks that were broken and needed replacement and my refrigerator stopped working one day. Jade was able to get a repairman out the same day for the refrigerator and he did a quick fix to salvage my food. The repairman and Jade informed me that some parts were needed to be ordered for a proper repair and that they would contact me once the parts had arrived. The window locks were replaced within a couple of days and only took he repair men about 15 minutes, super quick and easy! Once the parts for the refrigerator were in, Jade contacted me to schedule an appointment for the repair. The repairman came out and replaced the parts on my refrigerator in about 30 minutes. Now my refrigerator is working great and there are no more problems. Jade was very communicative and helpful with getting this repair done in a timely manner.

I recently leased an apartment with Cal Agents. JJ was very helpful in expediting the process because I really wanted to get the lease finalized before leaving for a trip. The hardest part of my process was finding the time on my work days to view the place. Fiona Mak helped me out by seeing me at a later time than their normal business hours. JJ handled all the paperwork quickly and efficiently, and Matthew was very efficient with the apartment walkthrough. Thank you to everyone who helped make the process happen!

The Cal Agents has been managing our properties since 2018 and so far the whole team has been doing an excellent job! Of special note though I recently had both major and minor repairs and Diego Moraes, Maintenance Coordinator, has done an outstanding job of finding the contractors and coordinating the completion of the projects. I especially like that he looks ahead tries to be efficient as possible such as having his techs complete 2 repairs at one time instead of making 2 trips. His work is much appreciated!

The Cal Agents maintenance team responds quickly and effectively! My shower handle came off one day causing water to leak into the tub at a rapid rate with no way of turning it off. The maintenance team responded very quickly to this emergency and turned the main water line off before significant flooding occurred in my apartment. Diego, on the maintenance team, then coordinated with a water damage testing company and a plumber to completely fix the issue later that afternoon. What could have been a nightmare situation was entirely fixed in a matter of a few hours because of Diegos rapid response.On a separate occasion, my garbage disposal stopped working, and another member of the maintenance team, Tom, came by to replace it. The day before he was scheduled to replace it, the main light in my kitchen went out, and I had yet to put in a maintenance request for it. When Tom came by, I also told him about the broken light, and in addition to replacing the garbage disposal, he also went to a store to buy a replacement bulb and fixed it right then and there - again, in coordination with Diego. When it comes to maintenance requests, both emergency and non-emergency, the Cal Agents maintenance team does a great job! Thank you Diego and Tom!

The Cal Agents Realty company manages my rental and they do a great job. I had a water heater break on a Wednesday and a surgery scheduled for Monday and needed something to happen fast. Hermi was great. She helped me make it happen by the end of the day Thursday which was great.

It was great working with Hermi on getting our new washer and dryer. She’s efficiently coordinated with the company that installed the appliances. She has been helpful in our (us the tenants) correspondence, answered any questions we have and made sure that we’re not left with any before ending our phone call. We have been using the Cal Agents to help us manage our properties in Emeryville and have been very happy with the services provided. Recently, Diego conducted an annaul property check up and identified a few areas that require upkeep. Diego provided a very detailed report including pictures of areas for improvement. The Cal Agents have been very supportive over the past two years. This agency is great! I was previously looking at different apartments closer in Berkeley but they werent super friendly nor responsive. Not the case with The Cal! Last Fall, I was in search of a new and modern home within my price range. Nikki helped me with the search and quickly found a house in Alameda. Even though we are not first time homebuyers, it was helpful to have somebody I could trust by my side. She was able to provide pandemic market insights and helped us draft an offer that beat out the rest. Nikki was thorough in explaining each step of the process and walked us through all of the documents that we were required to sign. There were so many pages and it was just helpful to have a trusted individual explain real estate jargon. Nikki was also extremely responsive and diligent even throughout her pregnancy! We recently purchased a cute single family house at Berkeley with Lex and Nikki. It took slightly more than a year, and it was never a simple task because of the competitive market and many surprises brought up by Covid19. Through out the journey, they consistently provided high quality service. I am especially satisfied with their responsiveness, quick turnaround time for our requests, and meticulous work style. We did everything we could to submit fast. We were not informed of the ‘large number of applicants’ as mentioned in your response to the review below. It’s nice to see you’re responsive somewhere. We lost another lease because we wanted to hear back from you but your lack of communication was unprofessional. We are not upset because of your attempt to be ‘fair’ but bc we expressed how badly we wanted to move, that we put something on hold for you, we rapidly reached out to our HR to satisfy your application - all the while you failed to let us know there was already a long line - you were just collecting applications for the sake of it even though you could at least be communicative about time lines and expectations. We would have worked with you to move in sooner if you’d communicated the owners’ preference. Don’t quote a law… bc that’s not what we’re complaining about. It’s that you cost us something with your lack of transparency from the start and lack of any update until it time to notify us we’d wasted our time waiting. We emailed you repeatedly to ask but you didn’t want to tell us you were already finishing up the process of leasing to someone else.

Extremely unprofessional. They surprise sent installation people here to wake us up at 7am without notifying of this unreasonable time when their office isnt even open? And they didnt even make sure the appointment was properly set up; thus nothing of use was accomplished? Meanwhile we have had a rancid dishwasher sitting here for months. This might even be a health concern. Clearly you knew before we even moved in which is why the agent attempted to run it while we were viewing it the first time. This is a horrible experience and reflects terribly on your agency. You should strive for better employees.

Hes been super communicative and has taken care of all the issues that have come up including a recent refrigerator replacement where he was the go between for myself, the HOA, and the tenant.Original review -Bee from the Cal Agents has been my point person managing my property and no matter the situation shes consistently been a great communicator, attentive, and gets to the bottom of whatever issue is affecting my rental property.
