Amazing place! Great people to help thr homeless Daryl and Dennis are fabulous.they definitely have an extremely calm way about them.that makes you feel comfortable the way they each indivisually consuct business is an amazing gift . Calm cool and collective. Yhe ora they bring took bro bennos is absolutely impeccable.dealing with the crazies! Half normies! The homeless and absolute nut cases. ARE handled very peoffesional and with kindness all the way thru. My personal experience! When coming to bro bennos .is always so fantastic. Dealing with so much on there ¹daily plate. I have never seen anything except proffessional! kind and willing to help gentlemen.Thank you for helping me thru and thru! all my dalemaS and struggles. You men are the BEST OF THE BEST!!

At one point I was very stable and felt very satisfied with my living situation and finances until recently Ive been homeless living out of a tent. I know this too shall pass but to be very honest, I will never forget the first day I came to brother benos. They made me feel so welcomed and comfortable with the reassurance that im not the only one in this struggle!! I wasnt sure where to start in letting them know my situation. With out question Steven, Dennis, Darryl and the staff have been more than helpful in guiding me with my situations,the more they directed me the more I cried knowing they had empathy for my situation and knew what I was talking about and going through. Darryl thank you from the bottom of my heart for the help and voucher u gave me with my storage and clothing I could nvr had done this alone.... Theres so much more I can say about this place but never feel theres nowhere to turn... Let Brother Benos be your first call for help and guidance I promise u wont be disappointed....

Great place to get food, resources, or to apply for Medical or for help with electricity or rent payments. They also have a closet for clothes for people in need. There is a big homeless population nearby so dont be surprised by that.

I needed some rental assistance and Darryl was able to save the day! The staff here is so kind and caring. Everyone I met came from a different background but were all so nice. Brother Bennos has a lot of resources for the community! I highly recommend them!!!! Thank God for Brother Bennos!!!!

If you need help, This is the best place!!! I am recently homeless due to a fire and brother bennos is the only place I found that actually is great and non judgemental!!! They are kind there and have a lot of resources!!! I got breakfast, food and dental. They give you clothes, blankets and tarps if needed. The hygiene was very nice and the workers are Amazing!!! Thank you so much for your kindness!!!

Thank God for Brother Benno’s. They saved my life with all the services and my son went into the rehab and graduated now is a sober. The recovery program helped my son get his family back and life back on track. Love the staff and volunteers and such a blessing to the community for all the help for the unfortunate. This place is awesome. They do a lot to help houseless folks. They have showers, a wellness bus so you can seek medical attention, and more. They try to help people get back on their feet and feel good, and it really shows how much they care.

What a place Brother Bennys is. They offer showers and clean clothes. You can get a hot breakfast. They also distribute groceries to the needy. They ask nothing in return. You can see they care for each person that comes there seeking help. The people that work there are friendly and kind. They judge no one and greet everyone with a smile. What a relief to the needy and their families. Everyday they are open except Sundays. Food, showers every other day and meals. Awesome place

These people are a lifeline for many of us. I came up from Chula Vista and had not had a *hot* shower in over a year. Now I have one almost every other day, and my skin is getting better. They never seem to be judging anyone. The rules are basic without making one feel theyre back in jail. I really cant say enough about the good they are doing in the community.

If their was the lowest possible score to give them I would for being unhelpful liers. Marry in rental program lied for 5 months to me and made me runaround with 2 kids to pay the rent I couldnt afford to pay due to unemployment and she kept promising to help after 5 months and doing everything she ask she just says sorry you dont qualify. Who in their mind would say this after doing screening asking for all needed paperwork talking to landlord and last step disqualified. Its unfortunate she has this position when she has racist mind to hell only those who is her own kind and favorite people. Their is no one to investigate and ask why they are being unfair.

I desperately went to this organization who says try support veterans with an urgent need for rent assistance. I submitted my application, jumped through hoops with my management to get the necessary documents, only to be played as a fool. The pandemic affected so many veterans, who lost their jobs and on the verge of losing their home. 211 referred me to this agency for help after my husband lost his job. After nearly two weeks, someone named Joe stopped answering my calls, my packet had been submitted for financial assistance, I turned my packet into Darryl, very hard person to get ahold of. Darryl submitted my packet, joe called to verify the documents. When checks arrived, week later I received NOTHING! I had to call to find out if they paid my management company. I Had to call DARRYL! ABSOLUTELY NOONE CALLED TO TELL ME THAT THE SAME PEOPLE WHO SAID I WAS GOOD TO GO TO SUBMIT THE PACKET, had in fact BOLDLY DENIED MY PACKET ONCE THEY RECEIVED IT! Horrible, traumatic, unacceptable. No one told me anything, I was in the dark, I thought my landlord/ manager was getting a rental check! Can you imagine being a veteran and brother Benno tells you to submit, only to get relief, and the following week, ignored and lied too. If it wasn’t for me calling today, I would have been screwed! I had to notify management that this organization is not, and clearly has never been, reputable and or takes care of veterans as advertised. DO NOT TRUST THIS AGENCY, THEY WILL LIE TO YOU, MAKE YOUR SITUATION WORSE, and most certainly have you jumping through hoops on EMPTY PROMISES. IM SOO EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND SADDENED BY THIS. I was bamboozled, as. VETERAN who served over 20 years for her country. They are lieing con artists! Stay clear!

Serving delicious food from 6:00-8:00 everyday but Sunday. The staff is both friendly and helpful. They offer a box of free food also every month. I was offered free toiletries, backpack and other essentials also. Theres an area offering free bakery products daily.

Any assistance for the homeless or low-income is found here. Great people who volunteer there. Have even been able to mail there. Its a place that is well run, managed by people that understand recovery and that in most cases there are options to improve your situation. They truly work with all levels of recovery from those in denial, to those really making an effort working a program of some sort- most important- they understand the struggles, long term or temporary people have and treat all with the same respect, and they offer many opportunities to get ahead for those in need or wanting assistance. looks not so great on the outside but inside the hearts and minds of the volunteers and staff its all good. If you need help, they will help you.

Its great, but unbelievable, to see such a fine establishment still being around after over 30 years. The place has grown, and does the most to help those who really could use the help. I was born in Oceanside, and was gone many years, and seeing how theres very little to no help for the homeless, hurts my heart and soul deeply! Brother Bennos, their staff/ workers/ employees put a smile on my face everyday, knowing how they help others. Oceanside needs a whole lot more humans like those you can find at Brother Bennos.

This a sad place. I want to volunteer here. They need competent engaged people. The web info said come sober.......ha ha. Really? Is anyone here sober? I read that they have laundry facilities but they did not say that only two people w one load each is accepted. You must volunteer for two hours for one load of wash? Rip off. I would love to volunteer here. Show some real grease.;places like this all seem to have the same feel. Unless you are beyond destitute....I mean unless you are a broken person....then this place is a waste of time. Who can eat eggs with the overwhelming odor of urine? Good place for those in need whether you are homeless or just needing a hand up. They offer hot breakfast daily M-SA (closed Sun), sack lunch, clothing, some food to help get through the day or week, a place to pick up mail and a shower! Other resources are available; just ask. The same bureaucratic issues and favoritism exist here as with any social service place but if you can look past that and not rock the boat, so to speak, you will be fine. My suggestion: eat; shower and get what you need and get out. They help alot of people every day silo it can get pretty crowded. A big shout out and hug of appreciation to all of you that keep us coming back esp.: Karol; Toni; Joan; Ron; Jesse; Bear; Daryl....and to all you many more volunteers and behind the scenes I didnt mention---THANK YOU!!!! Get here early they offer 2 service times, one at 6am-8am, and the other from 9am-10am. bring a bag/backpack with you and something to read, your gonna be in line for a while. once you get inside you can choose 5 items of bread, you will get a meal ticket, a place to wash your hands. you follow the line around and drop your ticket in a box, grab a tray with a cup and fork, you can ask for a second cup and a grocery bag if you need one. go down the line getting food on your tray, or food for you to take with you. at the end of the line is the drink selection normally Coffee, Milk, and tea/fruit punch. find a place to sit if you can. you cant get seconds till the whole line has gone through. hey also have Restrooms and Shower Available if needed they are group showers and Im not very comfortable with my body for that kind of thing. they also have a somewhat free laundry service, you can have 1 load of laundry done in exchange for 2 hours of service to the center either with cooking, cleanup, trash, etc

Brother Bennos is there for those that need them.To some it may seem like just another center that brings the nuisance to the surrounding neighbors and I say this with understanding because, unless you or someone you love has been in this situation, Id imagine it hard to understand.Brother Bennos gave me hope in a hopeless situation.They treated me kind when I didnt feel myself.They provided food and showers and resources until I was able to get myself together. We went to Bennos everyday for these things and, admittedly,i was leery upon my first time having to go there....until I accepted that that was my situation! ...I needed Bennos.Then I welcomed every day we were able to go there. You cannot have a bad day if you start it there! There are laughs,music,friendly people,and the opportunity to get it togetherwith each bran new day!We are now back on our feet...that was a rough year and a half but I did develope a special place in my heart for Brother Bennos...and for the staff and guests(the term they respectfully use for participants).Theres a blessing within that place that I would hope for all the surrounding community to understand.Thank you for all you did for us and you will continue to be our extended family always. My words cannot describe the deep feeling I have. The gratefulness I feel. These people, good as God himself, to me. Last week the people of the churches, sponsored a free laundry day, tossing quarters into my coin-op, and soap. Oh, how amazed I was at the selflessness, these good people. They were with me, the whole time, and, helping others in doing the lords deeds. How great it felt, to have cleaned, all my bedding from the car, I just have to say THANK YOU!!! It brings a tear to my eye, truly. Everything smells so nice, where I sleep. If there is ANGELS, here on earth, it was those people, THANK YOU, Brother Bennos, and the local church people, therein. Last year on Thanksgiving Day I thought I would accept the invitation of several friends and join them at Brother Bennos for Thanksgiving Dinner HUGE MISTAKE! Because I am a disabled senior who uses a wheelchair and have a registered, licensed medical service dog I was persona non grata. Was told I could have a plate if I wanted must leave the property to eat it. Several other people spoke up and said that was discrimination, all of whom were told very rudely to SHUT UP, IT DOESNT CONCERN YOU. I cant help but wonder how many individuals that spoke up about the old JIM CROW LAWS with separate water fountains and bathrooms got told those same words. discrimination is discrimination whether its against race, age, sex, sexual identity or disability!!! This year there has been a multitude of phone calls and emails by many different people to ask if they were going to refuse everyone with a stent/ pacemaker/ mobility device/ oxygen tank/ canes crutches/ artificial limbs but BROTHER BENNOS JUST SAYS WE ARE PERFECT AND HANGS UP.

They give, give, and give. Bring at least three sturdy re-usable bags because they will load you up! BUT : Bear, the head a-hole there may be extremely rude and even violent to you, especially if you complain about his rudeness : twice now this man has chased me off of their property while I was barely able to walk and was on crutches!!! Bears REAL name is unknown and he will NOT tell me his real name and the management has not helped me one bit, opening themselves up to a lawsuit. 1st off the 2 different times that they say they open on Saturday. If you call them and get the automated answering service it tells you that they open at 8am, if you go onto the website it tells you that they open at 10am. I went in and was greeted by one lady they have pictures all over the walls so while I was waiting I stood up and started looking at the pictures on the wall I was told that you to stay on some ledge or get the hell out that was my treatment this is supposed to be helping people who have gone through a hardship I could probably take the time to understand why youre there in the first place evil could have lost a whole family in a fire this is no way to treat someone

I’ve been here five times to drop off clothes for a donation. every time I come here there’s nobody there nobody can take it or they’re closed. They close at 1:30. if they expect to get more donations they should stay open a little later. I will start donating somewhere else

They let anybody in thats recovering or are coming down from a drug high and and youre around it and sometimes they abused you but the breakfast is okay the take-home Foods okay but that kind of atmosphere
