On 7/22/23, it was my first visit to Tech Exchange. In partnership with Richmond Promise, I was their student, and I had issues with my laptop. You come inside, check in and then provide your device to them. Mine had a fan malfunction, so it was getting out of hand. They took it in less than 3 minutes. Yes, in less than 3 minutes, they gave me a replacement. Very fast service, Kemish and a female worker there were so friendly and will do anything for you! I’m proud to be a Richmond Promise student! Will come again!EDIT: I come to realize that despite Tech Exchange’s hard work in giving back to the community and ensuring everyone from low-income, marginalized communities have access to reliable technology that helps them thrive. Of course, this is evident in their work, but something must be accommodated for students who graduated from a Bay Area high school and is pursing a technical degree outside of the Bay Area. I am originally from here, but if they can provide opportunities like the 4-week computer literacy classes remotely, it can really support students like myself in enhancing our portfolios for such fields. Aside from this, the Tech Exchange team and everyone a part of it are a blessing to everyone in the Bay Area, I would love to work with them someday!

I went in for the first on the 50% sale and the experience I received was amazing everyone was so nice and very explanatory about the devices. I bought a 2019 mac book pro for an extremely low price and the condition it’s in. It was definitely a steal.

Came in for the Latino Heritage Month Deal and I was greeted with friendly staff. I am one who doesn’t know much about computers but the staff explained and helped me pick one that will fit best for me! Great place!

My son dropped a beverage on our only laptop and I was so bummed! A neighbor told me about this organization and they were so nice over the phone. KAmish and Taki fixed it with such grace. They were so respectful. Im extremely grateful for their help! God bless this organization.

The staff was super friendly, I had help carrying the equipment from my car to the store. Stellar customer service- I would recommend this business to anyone looking to donate their tech equipment to a good cause and give back to their community

Excellent tech-centric neighborhood multiuse organization. You can buy a computer or get one through volunteering!!! Classes are provided to those new to computers and Internet. Very incredible staff. If you are in the community it is a must to check out and volunteer some time.

I went there on Saturday morning just to make sure they were open when back home picked up my Chromebook and went back in explain the whole situation that happened they were The most understanding of the whole situation and you know I did the whole swap out with the Chromebook and you know gave me some pointers on how to Bringing my personal laptop for me and that they were able to party look take a look and help me out to see what was wrong with it with it what they can help me with me and I really appreciate that type of understanding and the type of persons they are they They have that You know that people to people feeling and right now with this whole current situation thats what you tell us what you need us what you look for in other people that are in different situations and in the jobs are doing you know theyre helping out the community

Incredible reuse facility. OTX provides free computers for Oakland students grades 6-12. They also have a volunteer program for students and adults where by working 20 hrs you can receive a computer.

They took my old computer to be refurbished for reuse, along with a whole box of miscellaneous electronic gadgets and cables I no longer use, but I didnt want to just throw in the landfill. Im so glad to have a productive place for that stuff!

Great place to get computers without breaking the bank... Wish they were open more often, only open Saturdays from 10am-4pm. Staff is very helpful!!
