Tatum Garden is a wonderful place to be with your children. So many unique play areas and fun challenges. Geared for special needs access its a place where where all kids can enjoy simple fun! 😀

Stopped here during a long road trip to let our youngsters stretch their legs (1.5 and 3) and it was perfect. I stayed in the toddler area with the little one while dad took the bigger one to the other areas and we all had a blast. I do wish there were more of those bucket baby swings since it always seemed to have a kid in it and I felt rushed/guilty whenever we used it. Wish we lived in the area. It’s perfect for our kids. Also, for the first 10 minutes or so I kept checking my kids for dirty diapers until I realized there’s horses across the street that smell when it’s windy but it’s not horrible

Stumbled across the gem in the heart of Salinas. Talk about a playground! Tatum’s Harden had something for children of all ages. We stayed an hour and didn’t see half of it! Our three year old fell in love with the plastic seated swings and the rocking horses. We stayed mainly in the ‘tot lot,’ and could’ve easily remained for hours. Things to climb things to swing, things to slide, things to spin, things to touch, things to explore, things, things, THINGS!

Kids are wild. Bikes are ridden in the park. There is alot of unsupervised kids left there all day. There are no rules generally. Kids have to wait to get in and out of things because it can become pretty populated. The park itself is pretty filthy. My kids hands were black. The rubber flooring is uneven and falling apart.

Tatums Garden Playground in SalinasThis one of our favorite playgrounds to stop at when making the driving between Northern and Southern California. There are so many slides, climbing structures, swings, musical instruments, and its farm themed with barns and houses to go into. Many of the areas are ADA accessible. Watch out some of the one star reviews indicate that Tatums Garden sometimes does not open. This is especially true when the next door neighbor the very popular Salinas Rodeo is hosting a huge event in its stadium the parking lot is then reserved for the Rodeo and Tatums Garden gets closed on some of those days unfortunately. I wish that they found a way to keep it open because there is still a little bit of parking that is not taken near the indoor pool at that time. And the security company that they hire sometimes opens up Tatums Garden an hour later than the posted time. This brave little ground squirrel in the pictures from neighboring Sherwood Park ventured into the garden begging for food and was promptly rewarded with nuts. Plenty of restrooms and parking spaces and the ice cream trucks with their gas generators running to give the freezers the power that they need. Its good place (when its open)

Great park, the whole playground is gated, there is picnic tables aswell as a grass area and a small trail/walk way. There is plenty of parking lots, easy to access and have trash bins aswell as recycling ones. There is bathrooms avaible within the playground. The pungent smell of the restroom area is what I most dislike and the reason for the missing star.

Finding this park was such a gem. It was pretty empty and huge with great structures. It is made for those with all mobility ranges. My son had a blast. When we visit Salinas or near abouts, we will be coming back!

I highly recommend bringing your children here! New, clean, safe, accessable playground with plenty of varying activities and space. There are BBQs and picnic tables across the parking lot and the whole area is very well maintained.
