We loved our stay at Tahoe Sands. It’s hard to get lake side rooms due to high demand. We got a mountain side cabin which is across the street from the lake.The reception timings are very restrictive which limits the time you can enjoy the board games or any sports equipment. Or you have to take the equipment/ games during the open times so that you can use it after hours. It will be great if the office is redesigned so that some areas can be kept open for guests after hours.

I really dont like giving bad reviews but this place is beyond horrible. We were tempted by the low price and I should have known better. The pictures on the website are not the true representation of this property. We booked a studio and it was suppose to be lakeside however we were given a disgusting 1960s style cabin (and not in a cool way) across the VERY busy road from the lake. The room was basically uninhabitable with an extremely musky smell, a Murphy bed that was SO uncomfortable, an out of date sofa bed, a ridiculous little kitchenette that was dysfunctional and a bathroom where the water pressure would go from scalding to cold. When the bed was pulled down there was no room to walk to the front door from the bathroom and kitchenette. No air conditioning and didnt want to leave the windows open due to bears. The road that seems to be the hotel property actually leads to another small road where people live--all night long there was a tow truck and other cars speeding through the property. Walls are thin and we could literally hear our neighbors every cough. The relaxing few days we had hoped for was instead a huge disappointment and we left one day early--we were not offered any refund. I sincerely do not know how they can rent these rooms out with a good conscious. Beyond the rooms the property that IS lakeside has the potential to be a great place but it is very tired and in need of much updating. As far as positives...front desk ladies were very nice, private beach. So much potential wasted at this property. We have been visiting Tahoe for over 40 years and never had such a bad experience.

The location and amenities were the highlight of our trip. Daily activities planned, a clean pool/hot tub, and personable staff.The units have some significant wear and are not fully equipped with kitchen ware. The living/ dining area was very cramped. Oversized furniture pieced for a small area.They have an issue with overprotective blackbirds who stopped down upon the guests as they are trying to cross over the recreational area and down to the lake. These birds actually make contact with people.There are four functional gas grilles and tables for guest use. However, you have the battle the birds to get into that area.You might say the rustic ambiance fits the area. Some upgrades are still needed.All in all, we had a pleasant stay despite the fact that we found a $20 per day amenities charge in very fine print on our reservation notice.

Such a nice place. A real paradise. Gorgeous views. Quiet. Tranquil. Come here, especially off season. I was there this May, for late season skiing in Palisades - about 30 min drive. I’m definitely coming back. And so should you.

The location couldnt have been better, Just a few steps out our front door To our own secluded little beach. Nice.Open flat area for various games.The family can play together. The view is nothing short of spectacular. The only thing I wish there was some type of AC in the room, And upon taking out the ice trays in there were Dirt and or particles Embedded in the ice. Other than that our stay Was amazing. Definitely will be returning before the summer ends.

This weekend, we booked a room at Tahoe Sands for a quick night stopover on the way to Northstar. I was worried based on some other reviews that it would be a dump, but we were pleasantly surprised and would totally do it again, especially at this price (it was by far the cheapest place around at under $150).The room we booked was a 1-bedroom. There was a fold-out couch for my skiing buddy and I took the main bed. There were plenty of pillows and supplies, the beds were clean, and the rooms, while clearly dated, were very livable. There was even a kitchenette with a stove, a full fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a basic coffee maker.The shower had its own heater and a full set of nice shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.The main room had a wall heater and a fireplace, both of which kept it nice and warm.Each room had a TV.We checked in afterhours and left before the office opened, but the whole process was pretty simple and well-communicated since the door unlocks with a coded lock.The only negative was the lack of heat in the bedroom. Both wall heaters were broken and I woke up freezing. After opening the bedroom door, the room quickly heated up.The place was clean, so kudos to the cleaning staff. I just wish they fixed the heaters (room 216). Would definitely stay again for a quick nights rest.

We are enjoying our stay very much… Great location and the staff is excellent. Linda and Sarah have taken great care of us. Enjoyed the wine party as well. we like all the games in the clubhouse

The resorts location is great. Two bedroom condo is spacious and has everything we need for a comfy stay. I also enjoyed talking to the resort staff, very friendly and helpful.

2 room 2 bath was actually a little cabin. Clean, spacious, and has full kitchen. Perfect for me and 3 kids. Love this place. That’s why I keep coming back.

Loved our stay, the service from the front desk to maintenance was impeccable. Would be back on a heartbeat.Minutes away from everything North Lake, clean friendly, safe and great service.Thank you Lidia and everyone!
