I never have an issue getting my anxiety driven chihuahua in for an appointment and the techs, as well as the vets, are always very cheerful and kind to my Maizy (even if I ask for an impromptu nail trim for her.) They are very busy, so the wait times may be a little longer, but it’s worth it for the care they provide for my sweet girl. Thanks Sylvan Corners!!

Been going to Sylvan since about 2006 and have taken multiple dogs and cats with many different health issues over the years. Everyone is kind, professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. They’ve always been reasonably priced as well. I trust them implicitly with the care of my fur babies :)

Excellent office staff and veterinarian doctors. My fur baby was having terrible stomach issues over the weekend. I was able to get him in to see the doctor on a Sunday. Everyone there was very thorough and explained everything they were doing from start to finish to my dog. The cost is totally reasonable compared to my old vet that costed an arm and leg and possibly your soul. I have requested all my dogs medical records be forwarded to this office. They are now my dogs primary veterinarian office. They even called me a few days later to check on Cairo to see if he improved. Now that showed me how much they care for their patients.

Very unhappy with my appointment here my dog came in limping with an infection in her leg, she had a fever, which was never checked technician nor the vet ever took my peds vitals. They just sent me out the door with a $500 x-ray quote. The vet spent less than five minutes with my dog, walked out the door and said he was going to put together a plan never seen him again. Technician came back advised me I need to come back tomorrow for the x-rays I truly thought I could trust this establishment with the best interest of my pet, but their best interest is the dollar

I’ve gone to this pet hospital with all of my dogs for almost 50 years now. I’ve never had any bad experiences. Actually, my experiences with this veterinary hospital range from above average to surprisingly excellent. I say surprisingly because they were able to fit us in last minute with an unexpected puppy emergency. They even put cute little Halloween bats on her bandage! Highly recommend for dogs of all breeds and ages.

Being that the dogs are a very important family members, I was very pleased to have even the most frivolous questions answered in detail. A personal one on one experience with the doctor and the dogs.I had been using a different vet for previous dogs for certain reasons that are no longer a criteria. And Ive chose sylvan corners vet for their equipment and closeness. Im happy with that decision and hope that my pets become well known at this veterinarian.

I needed an excellent veterinary clinic when I moved to the area last year. Sylvan corners came highly recommended by neighbors and has not disappointed. Wonderful care and follow up by doctors. Friendly front office staff and knowledgeable and caring vet techs. The techs really are excellent. I love the atmosphere of the office when I arrive. Pricing is very fair and I have never felt the doctors tried to upsell services that were not necessary. I highly recommend Sylvan Corners.

I used to get good service here but there’s a certain lady who answers phone and is incredibly rude last time I called, I also had found out my dog was being muzzled from vet records they transferred over without ever just simply notifying me even though she’s not aggressive and has never bit anyone. I understand people dislike certain breeds but she is a 30lb pit bull runt she is so small she can’t do much even if she wanted too. Everytime I was given my dog back I’d have to ask for things to clean her up because she would release her anal glands and stink the entire lobby up. They would then give me a wipe and some stuff clean her in the middle of the lobby. I never understood why they didn’t just clean that themselves before my dog was brought back why would I want that scent all over my vehicle ? I’ve had good experiences here before as we used to take all 3 dogs here but when it came to bringing in my pit bull I always felt as if the vet didn’t like her the same way he liked our other dogs which makes me wonder if it just a thing with breeds/sizes of dogs here.

We found a cat in a wall at an automotive shop. We brought him in and they gave us a ton of information but we did not feel pressured at all to do anything that day(we ended up doing everything that day). They care and you can tell. Great place and would recommend!!!

They took good care of our dog Shorty. He is a senior dog weve had now for only 6 months. He needed a bit of TLC one of which was some pretty extensive Dental care. He is a happier dog just out of surgery less than 48 hrs. 👍

Have been taking all of our animals here for probably 30 years. Last experience has me vet. looking for a new. In for ear cleaning which they had done in the past. After having been quoted for cleaning and visit a male tech came out and said needed another $225 test. Told him they cleared it with antibiotics last year and could I try that. He was very abrupt and said it wont work. Then goes back and gets the pills. He practically threw them at me and condescendingly said good luck. Must have liked them for 30 years but not too sure now!

Meh they missed the diagnosis of our cats eyes and bungled the neuter of the other. Then we figured the eye issue without them using the Internet. They just want you to come in and pay them over and over and over and over and over and over. They love selling drugs. We ended up finding an online vet who was very helpful. These guys are WAY too busy. Go somewhere else. We did.

My dog is different. He dont like new people, but he needed to get his ears looked at. The staff was more than willing to help with his ears and let me go in to help them. Our nurse was amazing they call her 🤠. Super nice and my dog kobe ended up liking her before we were done. Great place, great people, overall super happy with this place. I will be going back. When we had first moved to the neighborhood we were in need of a new vet for our pets basic needs. We brought them to Sylvan Corners and the staff there have been fantastic; gentle, thorough, and compassionate. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Theyre also fairly priced.When one of our elderly pets reached the end of her life, they sat with us the whole time, never making us feel rushed or alone during one of lifes hardest moments, and helped us say goodbye in a way where everyones suffering was minimized (as much as possible). They even cried with us. A few days after her passing, they mailed us a condolence card.When we unexpectedly rescued a stray kitten a year later, they were right there to help too! Walking us through vaccination schedules and spay/neutering options, and all you those things you forget about having a kitten when your youngest cat is 15 years old.When our oldest cat recently got sick, they explained all of our options, and helped us get him well again. I felt reassured and confident in his treatment plan and today hes doing much better for an old man his age. Any time we have questions about his medication or anything else, they call us back asap.The little things count and it makes all the difference in care. Honestly if we moved tomorrow, Id go out of my way to continue bringing my pets to Sylvan Corners for all of their needs.

I am so grateful to that I got in before they were not accepting any more clients. Dr. Carney is the nicest and most professional person/Dr. I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is very understanding, caring, and genuine. She makes you feel listened to. I lost a 16 yr friend in my Maltese Molly and I was WRECKED, the doc and ladies were so understanding and caring that it made a day of horror absolutely more tolerable. I had a great experience with Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital of which I acquired the use of their boarding care sevices. I had a last minute job assignment out of state for which I needed urgent placement for my dogs care for a week. Sylvans employees were VERY welcoming from the moment my dog & I walked into the door. They were exceptionally professional, kind, and accommodating to all of my needs for my dog. They were honest & adamant with keeping me informed of everything about my dog, as far as her 1st night stay & how she was adapting there. I truly appreciated them doing so b/c it really put me at ease knowing that my dog was adjusting well & also it showed she was in good care. In addition, it was my 1st time ever using their services, so it was like taking a chance with hopes that all goes well as my dog adjust to the employees, the new environment, & the quality of their care. All of which I must say I was very pleased & satisfied with. When I returned to pick her up, they had her nice & clean, all of her things were together, and they gave me a final report of her entire stay there. I would definitely use their services again, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need boarding care.

Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital has always been great for our baby! He is a dog that I rescued and its obvious the first year of his life mustve been a tough one, but he loves us and weve done the best we can to socialize him. Everyone has always been kind and loving towards him at Sylvan, which is a great comfort. Its difficult to leave him even for just a few days because I feel hes never sure if were coming back but I know they take good care of him.

We absolutely love this Veterinary clinic. Sylvan Corners is always our top choice. All off the staff is very friendly and gentle with the animals. The doctors are extremely competent. I love that they always take the time to go over all of our options and answer any questions we have about them before moving forward with any treatment. Weve worked with every vet on staff and they are all great. Weve trusted them with everything from minor issues like worms and minor infections to major things like end stage FIP with one of our rescue cats and full dental extraction surgery on another. Their pricing is fair and transparent. Their hours and availability cannot be beat. If youre looking for a good vet in the area this is definitely it.

Called to make an appointment for my cat & the man who answered the phone was EXTREMELY RUDE. Acted as if it was odd that I called to get my cat vaccinated? When I asked to make an appointment his response was “ugh, do you have a different vet” then proceeded to say “ugh, nevermind I can take you.” I just hung up. They might be great here but just basing off this phone conversation I would NEVER bring my pet here. Ridiculous.

Love this vet. They give options for treatments for your pet. Friendly, helpful and just plain good people. I appreciate there help with several issues my dog has gone through. Our family dog wasnt well so we got an appt. Staff was friendly and helpful and understood our anxiety. The Dr we saw was very knowledgeable and gave us all the info we needed to decide what our plan of action might be. The vet tech came in and made sure we understood all of our options with NO SALES PITCH WHATSOEVER. Overall, they seemed to care about the health of the dog more than some sales pitch. Dog is better and we are very pleased customers.

I came here after having several bad experiences with a previous vet. I love Sylvan Corners! They were super nice, both on the phone and in person. We saw Dr. Sissle, who made the whole experience as trauma-free as possible for my fur baby. Everyone was very thorough about explaining what they were going to do and the outcomes. My sister recommended this vet to me & I couldn’t be happier. I switched to another one& it was the worst decision I made. I have a staffordshire bull terrier mix & they changed it to Pitbull mix, no idea why, they were rude & didn’t help my dog at all. Sylvan is the complete opposite. This office is great! I moved to Northern California, from Southern CA, a little over a year. In Southern CA, I had a vet office that I simply adored. I was heart broken at the thought of needing to find a replacement vet after the move. I tried a couple of local vet offices, but found there to be either a lack of passion for animals, or a desire to push medications or procedures on you.You can imagine how excited I was when I found Suyvan Corners Pet Hospital. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff greeted me (and my dog). Everyone was very busy, but they all took time to say hi and make us feel welcomed. When I met the vet tech I was even more excited. They were so good with my dog, whom is a rescue and does require a more gentle approach.When the doctor came in, he too was amazing with my dog. You can tell he has a true passion for what he does, and this is exotically what I look for in a veterinarian.The doctor was able to treat my dog for the condition I brought him in for. He also did a thorough exam, and did not try to push or promote anything that wasnt necessary for my dog.This place earned my trust, as well as my future business. Since the first visit, I have brought my dog in one more time. I received the same level of care as the first time, confirming that this is my new regular vet office.

This is my favorite vet in the greater Sacramento area. My mom and I have been coming here for at least 25 years. The entire staff are caring, friendly and some are very funny. Dr. Folger has been a favorite since I was young and Dr. Sissal is a new favorite. Evelyn is so knowledgeable and has explained a couple scary procedures to me. The whole front staff are exactly how the front desk should be- helpful! SHELBY is the biggest sweetheart and shows such tender loving care for my animals. Robert is another favorite tech. So intelligent and kind! I also love the owner. She is very matter of fact, practical but also a great person who has given our family some very good advice over the years. My experience couldnt have been any better. my dog and I relaxed in the car until it was her turn to be seen. She only needed one shot. Although She was still a little bit timid, thats just how she is, I could tell it was a lot less stressful for her. The technician came out and took her inside and just a few minutes later my little Zero was back in the car and updated on her vaccines. I appreciate the business being open during this hard time. Sylvan Corners went above and beyond with the care of my pet. They were able to squeeze my cat in for updated vaccines at the end of their day. Without those vaccines, I would have been unable to have my cat boarded during an emergency my family was having. Sylvan Corners is by far the best pet hospital that I have ever been to. Sylvan Corners Pet Hospital is a great place to care for our dogs. We had to say goodbye to one of our beautiful dogs back in December. She hadnt eaten for some time as she was so sick. The vet tech knew that bothered me that our Winnie wouldnt get to enjoy a last meal. The tech left the room for a few minutes and came back with a steak from her own lunch. She offered it to our sweet Winnie. It meant the world to me. This type of compassion is priceless and I will never forget it. Completely let down by our vet Dr. FOLGER. I am due to have a baby this week and our puppy will be staying at my mother in laws once labor begins. To help with her anxiety I called last week to request a sedative for our one year old 70lb lab mix. After not hearing back from anyone for a week, I called today to see what happened with my request. Im told that the vet will not prescribe anything unless I bring her in for an exam. She was just seen 3 months ago. This is unnecessary, to require a 10 month pregnant woman to haul in her 70lb puppy just to have a prescription filled. Seems like theyd just like to charge for unnecessary exams. Theyre unwilling to communicate transparently and double charged me for the exam last time she was seen 3 months ago. We have been bringing our pets here for 30 years. They are beyond AWESOME! Between dogs and cats, we just registered our 15th pet there! I have had 2 difficult German Shepherds as well as a LARGE Rottweiler/Mastiff mix and they dealt very well with all of them. Dr. Folger is especially adept at dealing with large dogs. Her laid back approach has had all of my pets just loving her. Our last few visits with our Pit mix and Yellow Lab were with Dr. Sissle and I LOVE the way he is with our pets. They both LOVED him. Sadly, we had to euthanize our old Yellow Lab and he was so kind and respectful with both of us and, more importantly, with our beloved Ginger. She had kennel cough at the beginning of January (acquired from the non-symptomatic PitX Adopted from the shelter) and he immediately had her cured. I love this place and would NEVER even think of taking my pets anywhere else! I have recently added a beautiful imported German Shepherd to my pack and they are taking excellent care of her as well!

She was very condescending when it came to my dogs diet which theyve been on for years (raw). And insisted my dog needs the be put under for x-rays without trying them first which she has done great at without being put under before. We brought out puppy in for routine shots and my wife was insulted by the doc on duty for treating out puppy like a puppy and allowing her to explore and go camping with us. We were told that we shoud carry her around for fear of catching very rare desieses. Even to walk her out of the office. They diagnosed her for two ear infections that she has no symptoms of (nor did we ask about) having because there was some residual dirt in her ears from romping around the lake this weekend. A slight skin irritation (which we did ask about) was diagnosed as being a dirty dog and a result of her environment. (You know the kind where she gets a bath once a week.)Detestible people here. Our family have taken our furry family members here for 26-27 years. We have seen some doctors and staff come and go, but on the most part we have felt confident our pets were getting great care. Our grumpy old 19 year old dog was difficult to treat at times and we found Dr Folger to be the best match for him. She displayed a lot of compassion, tolerance, and understanding through the years while treating him. One of the techs even moved rugs our guy could stand on with his weak legs during his visits. Our first dog got sick with cancer and the staff during that very sad time were very helpful and informative. Been going here for years, but recently I had my oldest dogs health deteriorate. She had gone from barely mobile but happy to in serious pain. I knew it was time to end her suffering. I call my vet and when asked, I explain she is in very bad shape and needs to be euthanized. I am floored when they tell me they wont be able to do anything for 4 days. 4 days of pain and misery is apparently just fine. Im sorry, but this is the sort of thing I kinda expect someone to make room for. Letting an animal suffer is just plain inhumane, not something you should expect from a veterinarian.Thankfully I found a lady who comes to your home and does it. SHE MADE AN EXTRA APPOINTMENT for me and my girl. So I love that this place is within walking distance, but Im afraid I will be transferring elsewhere.

MICHELLE is the manager at Sylvan Corners and has to be one of the most caring, compassionate, selfless, understanding, hard working, and over all well rounded human-beings. She is the definition of HUMANE. My dogs vet bills have been over 2,000 dollars and she helped me to decrease the amount of the bill.This vet is definitely unique, talk about compassion, they have an Angel who helps with circumstances such as mine, who has donated about $550 towards my animals care. She paid for part of his surgery, and to be vaccinated and nuetured.There are no words to say how grateful i am to find my new primary vet, I highly recommend you take your pet here. Its a medium priced vet care with SUPERIOR pet care. I will never take any of my animals anywhere else.

I recently adopted a rabbit from the SPCA. His nails were extremely long so I called to get them trimmed. The lady who answered asked if Ive been there before. I said yes my prior bunny was cremated through their hospital. She asked for my name to look up which she was unable to find. I said I believe I still have the reciept if she wanted me to track it down. She said yes she could look up my bunnies chart # that would be on the receipt. After looking everywhere for it, I gave up looking. Im wondering why the importance of this chart number when its going to be a new rabbit. After looking through my prior bank transactions I realize my bunny was cremated at Citrus Heights Vet clinic. So I call back explaining I made a mistake, he was seen elsewhere. But I still wanted to continue with getting my Rabbits nails trimmed there. Thats when I was informed that they dont see rabbits. I was dismayed, asking why they insisted on this chart number knowing I couldnt have been seen there. That was really unprofessional to toy around with someone like that. For that reason I wouldnt want to take any pet to a place where employees dont take all animals care and peoples time seriously.

Today was the scariest day for me as a dog parent, my dog Odin was bleeding from the mouth heavily. I panicked and called the emergency vet in Roseville they couldn’t help me if it was a mouth problem (dental ). I called Sylvan and got a same day appointment. I got there an hour early and they took my dog right away because he was bleeding. I was asked if I wanted to be present and answered yes. Well you cant was the response I got. I get covid restrictions but dont ask a question you already know the answer to. Would have been better to just, gently, remind me that I would not be allowed in the clinic. She also offered the services of a vet to come to my home but didnt know the cost and said the vet didnt work from your clinic. Sounded very back alley like to me. Sad to say, you have lost a decades old client today.

Now that my dog has passed I can write a review about this place.Dr.Sissle is the best vet I’ve been to in my life .Very caring and knowledgeable about everything that Vet can be!!Love him..That being said:The front office is the reason I’ve left.My blind and diabetic Pug/Chihuahua needed vetsulin each month to survive and each month I had to call and Beg for them to refill his vetsulin .Note:They don’t sell it so I don’t know why they tried soo hard not to help me get this refilled through Chewy.My pup was 14 years old and the front office acted like I was bothering them to get it approved.You might ask why didn’t I change vets.Well because he was old he would have to go through all the tests and he wouldn’t have survived.I have two new Boston’s and would have loved them to go here but I just couldn’t trust the front office. Especially the lady who was there 20 + years who was in deferent to my poor pups needs..I hope others had different results and again love the vet.Thanks,

I was initially uncomfortable about letting Zoey go without me. Zoey is one to escape and I worry about her not being in my view when going out nor does she listen to others. Macy who was the vet assistant was fantastic. She came to the car and discussed Zoeys issues, explained the possible procedures and returned her to me after all was done. Dr. Folger ( hope Im spelling that right) she was so patient and listened to my concerns. She called me after Zoeys exam and explained everything as well as what she recommended. Her ear is now doing better. During this time of Covid-19, things are out of the ordinary but Sylvan is doing an awesome job with the situation and the care of our pets.

I always love the service at Sylvan corners. The new check in process was a little hit and miss (the phone lines werent working) but in this pandemic situation I think Sylvan Corners did great. I only wish I could have been with Eli during his exam and tests. He probably thought I left him again (he boards there when I travel for work) and was probably scared while being poked and prodded. Love this office. ive been coming here with my parents and their animals for as long as i can remember. never gotten a bad deal from them. when i got my two furry babies this was the first place i went to when they got suddenly sick at 4 months old. the people there are always nice they sit and chat with me and the doctor always explains everything to me. they dont run tests that dont need to be done, my babies are as healthy as can be. love this place and will always be bringing my furry babies here. i recommend this office to everyone.

I recently had a horrible experience with this place. Reserved a time slot for my 13 month old Jack Russell/beagle mix for 6 days. My husband and I were going to maui to celebrate our 20th anniversary and his birthday. On our first day there we got a call from our son saying that they called him and insisted he pick up our dog because he barks too much!!!.they even charged him for the 1 night. I thought an emergency would be a sick dog or a viscous one. We had to cut our trip short as my son works long hours.we lost quite of money with flight changes, prepaid activities ect. Instead of being on a sunset cruise we were stuck on a plane on our anniversary. Thanks for ruining our first vacation in years. Will never ever go there and will let everyone we know be aware if their dog barks they arent welcome. Also unbelievably they never contacted us by phone or email..

When I first went here both my dogs were really sick. Tested them for Parvo and they were both negative. They needed to be placed in overnight care for a few days but my family and I couldnt afford that at all. I felt horrible, I couldnt give them the care they needed. Sylvan Corners did not make me feel bad at all or like a bad person for not not placing my dogs in overnight care. They laid out 3 other options for me in which I could choose from that were more feasable for my family and I at the time. They followed up with me as well. I love this vet a long with their shot clinic they provide on the weekends. They are an amazing Vetrinarian group! I would highly reccomend them!

Dr. Sissle is a real life Angel!! He and his team saved my baby. He needed emergency surgery and had I been forced to take him to an emergency pet hospital I wouldnt have been able to afford the surgery and would have been forced to put him down. Dr Sissle rearranged his entire schedule for the day and skipped his lunch to squeeze in the surgery. They also did everything they possibly could to minimize the expense knowing that I was on a budget and scrapped up every last cent I had to be able to pay for the services. I cant praise the team here enough and think they are truly amazing!!

Brought my dog in because he had an ear hematoma in march. It was a lady vet that helped me. I was told that the only thing I could do was for him to have surgery to put a drain in. Being that my dogs are my babies I spend 600 on this surgery. We have to go back 1time a week for 3 weeks to them to check on it. On the third week they took out the drain and sent us on our way. 4 days later my dogs ear was right back where we started. So I took him back in and saw Dr sissle and found out that ear hematomas can go away on there own. So I spent 600 bucks and my poor 10 year old great dane mix doggie spent three weeks in the biggest cone you could imagine, he was miserable. ALL FOR NOTHING!! And when I asked why I wasnt told this when I first brought him in. They told me because if he didnt have the surgery I would of healed with too much scar tissue. Shouldnt that have been my choice?? Shouldnt I have been informed so I could have made an educated decision. On what was best for my senior dog?? The only reason for the 3 stars was because Dr sissle was amazing. Unless you see him dont bother with this place. They obviously dont care about my dogs well being. Just the money they got out of me.

Absolutley terrible experience with these people. I took a 1 month old kitten to them who was clearly dying and they turned down a euthanasia. I had to sit through two days of the little guys suffering until he finally passed. And all of that agony could have been avoided. There were symptoms that any ordinary person could have spotted. Clearly these people don’t know how to handle small or young animals and I would never reccomend them. Awful service.

I can’t find the words to describe the kindness, professionalism, caring, compassion and care they treat our 3 dogs. Today was the end for one of our family members. Chery was suffering from IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease ) and treated with meds to keep her comfortable. Sadly today the worst hit us pretty hard and Cherry had to be put down. Dr Carney and tech Sara treated us like family and Chery was put down with compassion and comfort while we held her in our arms…a sad day for all, I noticed Dr. Carney wiped a tear as well. ated all 3 of our dogs great care!!

We have been associated with SCPH since having our beloved Princey in our family. We brought Prijncey home in August of 2002. Princey, a Shar-pei/Pit Bull mix was our babygirl. She was brought into our family by another family who was young and did not have the time to train or spend time with Princey. At the time Princey was 6 weeks old. After bringing Princey home, it was decided that SCPH would not only be the best location for us, but from what we had heard, the best care possible would be offered to Princey. It helpeed that our two daughters attended Holy Family School which is just a couple of blocks away.Our experience with SCPH has been exceptional. From Princeys first visit to her last! Princey developed mast cell tumors in her right rear leg about a year and a half or so. After constant consultation, it was decided that euthanasia would be in the best interest of Princey - and out family as a whole.The COURTESIES, COMPASSION, and shared tears by the medical staff and front office personnel was unprecedented!!!
