I liked my experience in the non Smoking area but the 5 minute walk in and out of the smoking area caused my lungs to hurt made my skin itchy, and made all my clothes stinky. Would only recommend if you smoke otherwise go somewhere else. Also no one in the casino (except the employees) seemed like they were having a good time or were happy. No young people there at least no one my age.

Spent the day with my mom. Mostly sitting and watching with some gambling. Live music was awesome. Food was a little pricey but solid. Everything was clean and we had fun.My Mom had a blast, but....Must say, after checking in, spent 5 hrs watching 3 vultures (quite sure they were not emplayees) taking advantage of seniors. It was quite sad. Some lady followed a senior around. Every time the old gal moved the vulture moved in and cashed out the little bit of money that was left.Old gal didnt know it was happening until I stepped in.Very sad indeed 😢. Im sure it doesnt happen all the time, but it happened enough last weekend that I came away a little upset.Other than that it was an awesome time.

This is one of the nicest hotels Ive ever stayed out of almost 200. The hotel tower, rooms and amenities are all 5 star. Everything is immaculately clean and service is very friendly. The restaurant with the mountain view was great and the casino was clean and well maintained. I would come back to this area to specifically visit the Sycuan resort again and would love to see the full pool area in full season. It was great that even in winter the main pool and a hot tub was open for guests and fully heated. Im a picky guy and I couldnt really find anything I had an issue with even if I tried. Thanks for a great stay. The attention to details didnt go unnoticed (the location of shower faucet especially!).

Pros: Nice room, Clean Room, Ok view, Free water in roomCons: No coffee maker in room, noisy hallway guests, pot smoke smell in hallways, rude staff, unnecessarily strict rules about food and beverages, excessive security/metal detectors, pools need to open earlier and stay open later (would cut down on amount of partying in the rooms/hallway), unexpected $100 per night security deposit (which is refundable but was a surprise), refund of security deposit takes up to 30 days.Where to begin? My wife and I chose Sycuan as we were attracted to the pools/lazy river advertised. We originally wanted to stay at Viejas because we had concert tickets there, but rooms were unavailable. Loved the Pride flag hanging up, but its just for show, by the way. Upon entering Sycuan you are faced with metal detectors and security guards (at every entry point). Should I feel protected or scared? What has happened there to necessitate this much security? We saw patrons scolded for carrying in their half empty Starbucks cups (drink it up or throw it away now) we heard a security guard tell someone. Really?As tourists, sampling local cuisine is a staple, but dont bring back leftovers to your room if it was not purchased at Sycuan. Outside food and beverage is STRICTLY prohibited. We purchased a couple of Modelos inside Sycuans Gift Shop and wanted to check out the pool before getting dressed to hang out at the pool. A very rude young woman told us we could not bring the beer to the pool. We explained that we purchased the beer from the Sycuan gift shop so it was not an outside beverage. She told us that it was still considered an outside beverage because we did not purchase it from the pool area. See what I mean about unnecessarily strict? Isnt Sycuan still getting their profit despite where inside the compound we make a purchase?Now lets talk about the pool area. Sans gift shop beer, we trekked to the pool and found some chairs near the lazy river. Not enough shade and not enough umbrellas to be found but we dealt with it. We bought some beer at the pool bar and as I was about to ask how to order food, the very rude bartender just walked away without as much as a can I help you with anything else? Im not a 20 something swimsuit model, so I guess I didnt matter. Im a 59 year old grandma just trying to enjoy a short vacation. Guess he doesnt respect his elders (LOL). We noticed a server going from chair to chair taking orders (not just the pricey daybeds) but the free pool chairs too. Lesbian grandmas get no service I guess as we were ignored. (See my initial comment about the showy pride flag). As I went to the bar again to order food, I finally encountered a nice staff member. She got a well deserved tip and even asked me if a server had not been over to take our order at the chair. (So Im not crazy, we were ignored)! I will say, the food was very good.Throughout the day at the pool, there were so many security people walking around. At the pool? Saw 5 of them gathered near the side of the bar hanging out and chatting. Really? Isnt this overkill? I really felt concerned for my safety rather than safe with the exorbitant amount of safety officers. No lifeguards, mind you, only security officers. Puzzling! The DJ was awesome, but stopped playing music at 4pm. Would have loved to come back down to the pool at night for soft music/jacuzzi time, but it closed at 8pm even though ambient lighting was present.Now that we have experienced Sycuan, we wont be back. I used the word compound earlier on in this review, because we felt like we were in a prison, not a relaxing resort environment. Maybe Im missing some history and this place has been a target of violence . .. if thats true then we are definitely never coming back. Lastly, If Sycuan demands that only purchases made at their property can be on the property. .LOWER the prices for food and beverage and patrons will buy more.

Its a lot of fun. Love going to Sycuan especially when I get a room. The stay can be very fun. Food in the casino is good. When you have all this... the only thing left is to get hot and, win!

My cousin spent 100K Plus for a wedding and The Morning After we were all supposed to meet for breakfast and what happened next was nothing short than appalling. My overall impression of the casino was that it sucked. I would never book a wedding with these people or a breakfast the following day. I have been married for 38 years and I would never get married here

Its a shame this place is such a ripoff. It used to be fun. I went last week and this morning. The machines are NOT paying what they are supposed to but to get help and have them go through the machine is such a pain they know nobody wants to go through that! Its obvious when all the machines are set to lose!

The rooms are nice and clean. Hotel is nice. Pool was great except the music played at the pool was toooo loud. We asked multiple time to reduce the volume of music but nothing happened. Surety restaurant was great and food was good too.

Our golf group just finished playing Singing Hills Golf courses and staying at Sycuan Casino Resort.We had a great “Stay & Play” package put togetherby Jessica Molnar, Resort Sales Manager, who set us up with everything from reserving (7) suites, to Golf tee times, and restaurant reservations. Everything was so well organized with the team work including Tyla Rodriguez-Hotel Group Reservations, John Foster and Christina Flores for restaurant reservations and Jeff Munoz in Resort Group Services.The Singing Hills Golf at both the Oak Glen and Willow Glen courses was in excellent condition from tee to green and the people in the Pro Shop were so helpful.The suite rooms at Sycuan were clean and spacious including the Chairman Suite.We ate at the Viewpoint and Rank & File restaurants for dinners and had delicious food and service.Our stay was truly five star from beginning to end!Thanks to all for making our trip memorable!

The staff is definitely biased racist and rude. if you win significant amount of money, you will be banned. If you socialize with a group of people, you know from there you’ll be banned the security staff goes around looking for reasons to exclude people . I was excluded for a year with out explanation. When I asked why they told me they were a sovereign entity and don’t have to provide explanation

Poker room is great, for the most days you wont wait longer the 30 minutes for a seat, I had times with an long wait time that the team decided to start up a new “must move” table. I hope more poker rooms in the area would do so but haven’t noticed that yet.Food and drinks service are pretty good and most times also in a timely manner. Free water is served here.At days when the jackpot amount in higher then (I think) 50k then they won’t host the small daily or weekly tournaments. But then again, the jackpot are the highest in San Diego area.Come play poker

The most relaxing comfortable experience Ive had in a long time people are friendly plenty of places in the casino to go eat walk around its beautiful inside music bands the whole 10 yards its the Disneyland for adults and Rivals Vegas any day I recommend it to all ages over 21 youll find Romance again in your relationships theres plenty of people walking around you could be nice people all day long I love it I love taking people there I drive for Uber I cant find and I cant think of another place more adult more satisfying then Sycuan Casino and its situated in the San Diego County Mountain beautiful at night gorgeous I recommended highly Im going back right away

Wonderful place for a getaway. The amenities are top notch. We will be excited to try and come back when the pool is an option. They have one portion open but the lazy river was closed when we were there. All of the restaurants were pretty satisfying. Except for the Chinese one, that was a disappointment. The only downside was that the beds were super uncomfortable. Ive stayed in a lot of hotels and the ones that have the beds that are harder as a rock. Definitely make it hard to want to come back when everything else is so enjoyable. Gorgeous view up in the San Diego mountains.

This place is the best between the 3 casinos, which is about 30 minutes away from us. Weve been 3x, and my husband always hits big. I win something that is not usual when going to casinos. We win when betting the minimum, so thats the other reason I like this place the most. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean plus well kept. They have a non-smoking area in which a door divides it from the smoking area. Unlike most reviewers, I can say the non-smoking area does not smell like smoke at all.Do remember everyones experience will be different, but this place is worth a try. Also, the food was delicious at the Pink Buddha. The restaurant staff was attentive and friendly as well.

Went to the caged warriors ufc fights. The bartender was super nice and fun to chat with. She remembered my wifes drink even though there were a lot of people there. The nachos in the back were good but the atmosphere was better. Getting there was long and not simple.

I didnt stay at the hotel. So I cant give rooms an honest rating. We went for breakfast at the Viewpoint and played on the slot machines for awhile. The Viewpoint is the main reason we return to Sycuan. The food is excellent and the service is great. In all the years weve been coming Ive never won big. I also dont play Max bet amounts. The machines sometimes let you win enough to keep you entertained 😁 Its always a good experience here the service is good. Everyone is so friendly and ready to help if you need anything. The one thing Ive noticed lately is it can get pretty warm at times. I almost asked if the temp could be turned down a bit. But other than that its all good!

Really enjoyed my stay at this location! The rooms are pretty clean and had great amenities. I was able to check in and out fairly quickly. Parking was also free and accesible. All staff members were polite and attentive. Price per night is about $200 and there’s a $100 refundable deposit fee.

Last time i went to the pool party. Was chill and nice. I recommend to treat yourself in a gateway in cabanas or just chill in the pool beds. Food is also alright and they have a pool casino if you want to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Attention poker players. LONG WAIT FOR A SEAT is not worth it. No action on the tables. You will be placed on the list and then constantly pushed down as their new people will be showing up who called in. Over an hour wait and they once again will tell you that it will be even longer wait. Lack of dealers and rude managing staff at poker desk.

Just came back from playing the slots for a few hours. First time back since 2012! The new casino area was especially nice. Overall, as a former smoker who now hates the smell, most of the smoking areas were hard to tell apart from non-smoking, which was very surprising & enjoyable. The one big exception was the upper level... half of it seemed unusually dark & it reeked of smoke (I even caught a whiff of marijuana). It also seemed to have more players who looked like permanent fixtures, possibly physically attached to their machines...But the best part of the day (and maybe my whole year) came after I realized Id made a monumental mistake: I left a machine Id been playing for over an hour & forgot to cash out, leaving an even $100 behind. I was still close by & saw only 1 other person had started to play it after me. I went back & asked if he had noticed the money I left behind, just as he was cashing out. My belief that good, honest & kind people still do exist got a major boost... he looked at his wife & said that his winnings now made sense, because he got back $100 more than he put in! No argument, no denials, no gee, too bad, someone else mustve taken it. He reached in his pocket, pulled out a $100 bill & gave it to me. My only regret is that I never asked his name; I was so overwhelmed by his honesty & kindness that I forgot to ask.To the powers that be at Sycuan: if you can track a person down based on when they played a certain machine, please let me know; that gentleman deserves recognition for his kindness & honesty (in a casino!!) ESPECIALLY when there are so many vultures who do only 1 thing: scan slots for money left behind.I lost a little money today, but I almost lost a lot more through my own carelessness. Meeting such a wonderful gentleman more than made up for that. What a great day!

No bonus game no bonus play, not really gonna go out of my way for them anymore. Booked one night hotel stay for my 45th birthday coming from Austin Tx. Not realizing the resort area close at 6 the earliest Ive ever seen. Check in is at 3. So you really dont have time to get settle in your room the relaxed at the pool. At check in it wouldve been great customer service to remind paying resort fee customers the time the area is closing when you give the white bracelets. But when checking out I voiced my concern with the manager Alex standing there and the receptionist said oh you can check in as early as 8am or 9am. If thats the case it need to be said on the website. I told her that was new to us and never knew you can check in that early. She assure me yes. Also when I booked the room it show $25 credit. And that wasnt honored the manager was nonchalant and really showed he didnt care.

This is a hidden Gem about 6 miles outside of El Cajon. We absolutely liked it very much. The customer service was excellent. They really make it a point to recognize their military and first responder personnel. Its not ginormous but its definitely big enough. Plenty of places to grab a bite and plenty of gambling to enjoy. Slots, tables bingo. We will definitely be back.

Poker room dealers there are terrible. Constantly engaging in full blown conversations with the players and watching Baseball and Basketball games on the TVs. I worked as a dealer for 8 years and this behavior would get you fired. They are very un professional.

I have visited sycuan several times this last visit was a bit disturbing starting out at check in when I asked for a higher floor I was told the only way to do that is upgrade I said ok how much the front desk clerk told me it would be $400 more. So i took the room on the second floor facing the large ac compressors. Also front desk people should not have tip jars plus point them out.The most disturbing thing though was my partner( 31 yr old black male)needed to run down to the car to get something he realized that he didnt have his wallet on him so he asked the guard if he can run out will there be a problem coming back in guard said no problem when he got back minutes later the guard said I need your id he said I just told you 5 min ago its in my room he said no id cant let you in he also didnt have his phone the guard would not let him in or call the front desk or room to verify instead call for back up to have him removed from the property by 4 other security guards. My partner asked to borrow a phone from a guest in the parking lot called me I came down to get him the security guard said to me I need his id to allow him into the hotel.I got his id gave it to him and they allowed him into the hotel . I called the security supervisor about this matter they said if I dont like their policy I shouldnt come backTrust me I wont this was clearly a case of racial discrimination.

Sycuan has become a joke with its shuttle service. It caters to its team members and not the guest. All the team members go to plaza Bonita station and fill up the shuttle. In addition, I was waiting for over 30 minutes to be the 1st in line and that didnt matter because the drivers let the employees go first, due to the favoritism of the drivers, there is no such thing as first-come-first-serve. Im sad to see how Sycuan doesnt care. Ive spoken to the Transportation department and instead of providing a solution, the management can not take constructive criticism and will even insult you by saying that I could of drove if its such an inconvenience to take the shuttle. So sad Sycuan, very very Sad.

Wonderful front desk interaction! This shout out is for Andrew at check in, thank you for welcoming us and providing stellar service. Informative and accommodating, we so appreciate you. The 4 star rating is because we walked in with gear from an opposing team and the security guard by the parking lot made us throw away groceries and then carded us (almost 40 by the way....) and then worst of all, security by the Pink Buddha lounge ran up to us and reached for the drink out of my hand and proceeded to throw it away. I guess they dont approve of drinks we bought at their own gas station on their property. Worst casino interaction, Sycaun we love you, but look into guards with better personal skills.

Loved the hotel room but did not appreciate not getting a heads up with the alarm system going off early morning of March 4th 2024.That was very disturbing and unprofessional. Had it not been for a staff member I finally ran Into I wouldnt have known it was just a drill testing. My lower back is messed up enough. I didnt need that. Furthermore..I have never witnessed a casino that caters more to the smoking vs non smoking. The only non smoking section of this casino was small and the only bar in this area..no bartender. My lungs werent the greatest after having to walk through all the smoke just to get to the non smoking area. Our smoking areas in casinos are closed off. I find yours negligent.

Last night we saw the Abba show in the Sycuan theater. The show was great, but there was a tall heavy woman standing in the row in front of us waving her arms and dancing throughout the entire show. She was the only one standing in the entire audience for many of the songs. We politely asked her to sit several times, but were ignored. Her large backside was at eye level blocking our view. We asked the usher to reseat us and temporarily sat in some other seats, but the people who the seats belonged to returned. Then we stood in the back for the last fifteen minutes of the concert. Overall we did not have a good experience.

The restaurants are great. The pool lovely as well. The problem is that I cant breathe well. My sinus and chest are really irritated. I would say on-fire but its not to that degree. The fragrance in the air permeates everything. Even if there is no smoking in the room, its still present. I woke up at 2 a.m. coughing. I am now sitting in the bingo area where its easier to breathe. I wish I could open a window. I still want to go back to bed.

Stopped in on an afternoon with my family in town. Unfortunately after we got lunch and played a few games it got very unpleasant. First while my wife and mother were in the woman’s bathroom I saw a man coming out. I informed security but they seemed to put it off. After that an entirely separate incident occurred when another man told my mother to get the F out of the way in the casino. The man was wearing what looked like kitchen clothes. After confronting the man I told security again but they failed to respond. Just a very sketchy atmosphere.

Mothers day I had rhe worst experience in my life...If youre DISABLED, DONT VISIT on a HOLIDAY...My friend and I are disabled and they offered no vallet...Only if you were staying in the room or a VIP...weve been coming over 30 years and couldnt get valet to park is....we walked for ages....one on a cane and one with Lupas and an Oxygen tank but, left it in the car on mistake...Being a diabetic I had to eat and after all that walking, there was no seats to sit down and eat at the sky bar....Ive been in the bed for a week and they absolutely ruined my Mothers day...

Its not conveniently located and people can still smoke inside the property. I appreciate the free ev charging in the parking structure which is located on the 3rd floor. There is a Starbucks inside thats open until 9pm. Every time we come here, its always busy even on a regular day. This is a place to relax and enjoy.

Sometimes you win sometimes you lose I lost. The casino is smoking and non-smoking non-smoking area totally closed off from the smoking area of the casino. They do have a lot of slots and other gaming games in the non-smoking area to choose from. The food court is awesome it has upgraded from desserts to different nationality foods. There are also different restaurants throughout the casino. ATMs charge $4.00 on up depending on how you want to get your money. I have suggested to them to make their ATMs free. Well see, its been awhile. The ambiance very nice in the restaurants a little higher class $$$. They do have a cafe I believe stays open all night Im not sure about it. And the hotel has room service only certain items if its really late like past 1:00 am or 2:00 am and you can also get the rooms comped depending on how much you played make sure you use your card it doesnt make any difference to the machine, Ive heard a lot think they win more without the card in the machine, its really not true the card collects points for you that you can use for any kind of comp or play money

We had wonderful time and the hotel is so nice and the bed is so comfortable we go down this casino a lot when we go to San Diego for short trips, this time we visited desert wild flowers bloom and summer time I like to swimming in the pool and relax in the lazy River . We like the breakfast place view points and they used to have vegetable and herb garden and we like to order from the garden to the table, we always like going back to this nice hotel .

The casino and hotel are beautiful. We go to the casino quite often. There are no perks compared to the other local casinos. Also we RARELY win here. fames FREE GAMES but have much better luck at Viejas, Barona and especially Jamul. They give lots of freeplay, gifts, high stake drawings, food, cigarettes. No offense, but my birthday is this month and sycuan sent me an invitation to spend the actual day at Sycuan and I would receive Ten whole dollars as a birthday gift on a positive note, Sycuan has fun games, the staff is friendly and the toilet seat covers go round and round which seems very sanitary. We will continue coming to Sycuan with hopes of someday leaving with a few dollars.

This casino and hotel was so legit before! I mean before, during & after Covid they were doing soo well. They had soo many awesome restaurants, and now they got nothing. They used to had the best food in the country with Hodads, Phil’s BBQ, Lucha Libre(bomb)Luna Grill, Sushi Elicit(bomb), pizza place that had amazing Gelato! This casino was soo amazing and I had so many events and gatherings here. All these restaurants were so packed and it was nice to come down to this casino to just eat and gamble a little or not even gamble but grab drinks or just hang with friends. I always promote this place because if you are hungry you can try everything all at once! And they have a hotel and soo you can always eat good and sleep good and have fun … ALL IN ONE PLACE. But now they have NO Restaurants. And what I mean by no I mean no good restaurants… they took all the best selling places out and now they only have 3 mediocre Asian restaurant. And that’s it! Their steak place is awful and service sucks and no one’s talks about it. Sycuan used to be comparable to the Aria in Vegas, since such a used to have the best of the best food and gambling… not anymore.. so disappointed & sad to see the Management fail to service what is best. Regarding the poker room: it’s tough to get in a 2-5 NLH or higher limit game. They rarely have one going, except on the weekends. Also, call in ahead to put your name on the list. If not, be prepared to wait up to an hour or longer to sit at a 1-3 NLH game.The rooms: the rooms are very nice, but if you want to stay on the weekend, good luck. The prices are extremely expensive, and they get booked up quick.The drive: be prepared for quite the adventure getting there. The drivers can be either very aggressive, or extremely slow. For some reason people seem to lose their mind on that hilly and windy road out there.The actual casino is nice, but I typically only play in the poker room so I can’t speak to the slot machines or other table games.It would be nice to get to the point where poker plays could get comped rooms. This is one of the best hotels in San Diego county. The gaming is in bright and big modern rooms, with high ceilings. There is plenty of gaming of all types here and for all amounts. I love that they have multiple restaurants to choose from, including some hidden places in corners as well as a Starbucks. This place also has a lazy river and pool for guests staying at the hotel. Valley parking is fantastic and everything seems super clean and inviting. I would highly recommend coming here.

I have been a guest Sycuan Casino several times. Ive come back to check to see if Im perhaps wrong in my past experiences with Service. During my recent stay, I pulled up to the entrance before it turns into the valet parking area. I was greeted several times with why are you here?? They never greet me with a smile or hello, just a dry how can I help you? I advise I have a reservation and they proceed to ask for my ID...once provided its mostly business, no eye contact, no warmth, no welcoming of any kind. Ive stayed in vegas, at huge casinos . They offer you water at check in, smile and Greet everyone. Finally after my strange and unwanted stay by staff members at Sycuan, or at least thats what it felt like for me .I call a bellhop to assist with my things for check out. I then ask him to meet me outside so I can get tip money from the ATM. Even though service didnt persay warrant a tip, i try to be diplomatic in most circumstances. I then take my 20.00 over to customer service desk as the bellhop suggested and the front desk woman who never said hello, just stated go to high rollers, she doesnt have any change. Now Ive gotten change here before so I know this is the service they provide. So I ask why cant you give me change?? She said I dont got it. I get back it line to wait for another front dest clerk to provide change, since she didnt have it..Finally I got to the valet area, and Im again not greeted, just listening to gossip from the valet guys why I wait for my car. SUDDENLY the guy who picked my items up from my room walks away, the other says whos stuff is this? He gestures a head nod toward my direction. The other guy nods, no one addresses me. My car then rolls up and two silent ladies put my things in my car carelessly and wordlessly! So I gather myself feeling like wow, they dont care for black women at Sycuan hotel and casino at all. My black face as a woman clearly makes them treat me with less regard and respect especially the valets. Housekeeping are delightful by the way. I spoke with management after all this. He compensated me with 1 night. It should have been all 4 days as I was neglected and treated less then a total of four days. The manager seemed uninterested and disingenuous. So all and all it was a lousy stay.

Bus driver let several people on the bus with just their club card, but when I came up he asked to see my ID so I showed him a picture of my drivers license and passport but he said he’s not supposed to accept that. I live in Fallbrook so this place is a little out of the way but it was a nice clean casino. There was a lot of fun and energy when you walked in and the slots let me win which is always a bonus. The staff was great and I had a free suite from my MyVesgas points and there were not any extra resort fees or anything. The room and the view was beautiful but the shower was huge and gorgeous. Id you are going to play slots, then this is a good place to play.If you are going to play cards like Texas Hold-em or other card games then this is definitely not the place to go. The chose to deal the dealers hand first instead of last so that the dealers hand cannot be changed if someone sits out a hand or comes to or leaves the table. This is an unfair advantage for the casino and not the players. All of the other casinos that I have ever been to the dealer is dealt their hand last. 1 word to describe my first & obviously last visit here: TRAUMATIC!After doing research about the different casinos in the area, I decided to choose this place to celebrate NYE with my friends. One of whom was pregnant, the other battling cancer, and we had just experienced family losses right before Christmas. All we wanted to do was relax, play some slots, and peacefully ring in the New Year. Instead I, a black woman that’s barely 130 lbs, ended up “ringing in” the year outdoors shivering outside crying with my hands up for about 2 hours surrounded by at least 5 officers, multiple security guards, and police cars. One in particular kept screaming and cursing at me with gun towards me, yelling not to move, then to do this, and that as if it was some sick game of Simon Says.After entering, I excitedly went to get the physical players card from the counter because I had signed up online the night before. I told my friends I would catch up with them on the floor after grabbing a drink at the bar. The bar wasn’t packed, so I ordered 1 drink (gin & tonic), then began a convo with another patron who had been there much longer before me. He was kind enough to not only pay for my drink, but asked the bartender to get me one more before he closed out. I was on drink 2, and continued minding my business. Between the time I entered and the time all hell broke loose, some men had tried flirting/making advances but I turned them down. Apparently I told the wrong person no, because next thing you know I was being escorted out when trying to meet up with my friends and play. I kept asking what was going on and was told to be quiet and just follow them. The same man from the bar witnessed them dragging me out and when he asked, they told him I “was over my limit”. He told them that didn’t make sense because he had more drinks, was actually drunk, and said all I had done was sit there.They made me sit outside at the front where everyone walking in & out could see. I kept asking what did I do wrong and no one could give me an answer whatsoever. Some guards couldn’t even look me in my face because they knew all of this was ridiculously wrong and excessive. I tried video recording what little I could, but that’s when a gun was drawn on me telling me to put my phone down & hold my hands up. Fortunately before doing so, I was able to get my brother on the line and have him hear everything via speakerphone. In this day and age of things going left with black people & law enforcement, I absolutely thought I was about to die. I asked if I could at least call my friend because they were threatening to throw me in a police car, and take me to jail where I’d be arrested. After more tears with my hands up in the cold, I was finally given permission to use my phone to contact my friend. When she asked they told her I was “over limit.” As someone who has worked in the service industry before, if one truly is “over limit” then that is the responsibility of the bartender. Because if 2 drinks = over the limit, then why serve me a 2nd? Not to mention I wasn’t belligerent, in-cohesive, aggressive, NOTHING. I literally walked in, got my players card, went to the bar and sat there. I kept telling them to just look at the footage and they refused. The night ended with more security following my friends and I (once again, 1 pregnant, the other with cancer) back to our car. Going through past reviews I see that security has treated others with excessive force, and that’s NOT okay. One shouldn’t have to fear for their life at a casino by the casino itself. I’ll definitely be spreading the word on every social platform and looking into legal actions. A young black woman, nor anyone else shouldn’t be aggressively targeted like this for absolutely nothing.

I am having one of the worst experiences with regards to customer service. Definitely not used to this! Thankfully a guy named Ronald helped and made things fun and palatable late last night. But the manager this morning was a piece of work, as well, my room had flower petals on the floor from the past guest and you can tell the room was not serviced properly. I came in late last night only because I was told I had to be at the hotel before 2am otherwise they were cancelling my entire reservation. I had a reservation for 2nights. I flew in earlier in the day as Im attending an event at this establishment (otherwise I would not have pick this place as a place to dwell). We all know the check in after a certain hour requirements, so I went about my day, but because I was over 2 hours away and was trying to be responsible, not to mention health issues I called and asked if I could cancel the first night and just check in the next day. I was told no, they would have to cancel the entire reservation and I need to be there by 2am and no because I booked through a third party and needed to call the third party. I called the third party and the third party then repeats what the hotel originally told me after calling and speaking with the hotel manager. So I head over to the hotel. After getting there, before 2am (around 11:30pm) I find that my reservation for the night was cancelled. Then this morning I go to leave a key for a friend while I go sit at the pool and do some work and Im told we dont do that but you can add her name to the reservation, however when you do I will cancel your current keys and you will need to come and get another key to get into your room or go find her to get in. I ask if she is serious because I have never had this happen at any hotel I have ever stayed at. She goes yep, quite nonchalantly. I ask for the manager, she says I am the manager. I ask if this is a written policy or when did it go into effect, and she basically says it is what it is... I will never be back! Never recommend, never Never refer. This world has gone mad with the lack of customer service and the ability to be human.Oh and the room is noisy as heck with something going on outside the room like a big air conditioner or something... Uggghhhh!!!!

We could only up the thermostat, which wasnt practical because it got too hot, and had to be adjusted throughout the night.My biggest complaint was how incredibly noisy the A/C was. It banged a lot, and at one point we both got up and just watched TV because we couldnt sleep. There was one point where it sounded like someone was bouncing a ball against the wall. We looked forward to getting home to sleep the next day.Overall, it was a nice stay. This was for my husbands birthday and he had a good time. Nice local getaway.

First time here to play bingo, and it was so nice! We barely made it in time, and didnt know we needed to have an account just to play. But the desk signed us up so quickly to get us into the game in time. My only nitpick would be concessions. On December 10, 2023, the first night I stayed at this hotel I had a bad experience with an employee at the Rank and File Restaurant. I went to the bar area and I asked Leyla, the Bartender if I could get a Hard Seltzer. She immediately accused me of “slurring my words” with a very bad attitude, I said, you are lying, It’s because I am not from here. I am foreigner so I have an accent when I speak English. She not only denied service to me, she CALLED SECURITY on me and I was escorted out of the casino and to my room, my friend was there with me the whole time, she let him order food but didn’t let me order anything. It was the most embarrassing experience I’ve had in a long time, I ask management to review the security footage of the bar area of Rank and File of the date 12/10/2023 at around 7:30 pm and see that there was NO NEED to call security on me and embarrass me like that in front of everyone like I did something wrong. I could never recommend a place where you get discriminated against like I was that day by that bar employee Leyla. She needs to learn how to treat people and not discriminate against anyone like she did to me that night. Very unprofessional and a bad stain for this casino. Attaching the receipt of my friend’s purchase at Rank and File around that time the whole incident happened.

I really didnt stay here to rate the casino. But I went to the Pow Wow, and this was the first one Ive been to in alone while at this venue, Id say about five years, and it was the same setup.Nothing new. The arena was the same all cramped in a small area and to make matters worse we got there and there were no dancing and we go there at 830pm the whole time maybe three songs and dancing, but mostly all taking. We left at 10pm and still no dancing, but while waiting in line for the shuttle then they started getting to the good stuff, but by that time, people were already leaving. If figured within the span of five years, they would have a better arena, a better venue, and better setup. With all the money that Sycuan has, I thought they would have a new and better arena. Also parking was horrible. I will never go back there again. I wasted my time going. Barona had a better set up then Sycuan. This review is for the Pow Wow only...

This is my new favorite hotel! I was surprised by the quality of service that I experienced here. The hotel itself smells amazing, there is no smoking in this gaming area. The rooms were clean with beautiful, modern decor. The food was good (there’s a Starbuck’s!!!). Awesome views of the hills, but my favorite part was the valet service. It’s included as part of your stay at the hotel and they give you a cold water bottle everytime you get your car. It’s the little details that matter so thank you Sycuan for a great experience.

Friendly and informative check-in. The room was beautiful and clean. The view from the 11th floor was very nice. Great casino with great restaurants. If you dont like the smell of cigarette smoke, I would just avoid casinos that allow smoking, in general. Its part of the atmosphere. They have so many different, fun slots that I had trouble sitting down at one for more than 10 minutes. I cant wait to go back!

The Sycuan, its a very beautiful casino I havent stayed in a room so I cant speak on it but I have to eat at many of the restaurants The food is good The prices are decent The location is kind of out there so its about 25 plus minutes from downtown San Diego. Another thing to be aware of is the smoke from people smoking inside the casino. But parking is good as long as they dont have a big act in town or a special event you should be able to find parking.

The non-smoking area didnt feel like non-smoking (I cant deal with smoke it gives me migraines so I take non-smoking seriously), stand up only tables to eat (definitely does not work for a small person) no area to sit, when I asked for a place to sit and eat we were literally told we just expect you to take your food with you and kind of just eat as you play. Im like and put my food where on the machine? Disgusting! Some machines have their buttons like jammed (they press for you and suddenly it ate all your money with out you knowing and and that is your fault). The burrito was the only good part. 2017. A wonderful off the path location. We went for one of their live shows. It seats about 500 the show was very intimate.... looking forward to other shows at this venue.2024... the rooms have now moved and are now a part of the casino. We are slated to see a band tonight in the up live and close theater. The casino has nice rooms and amenities the theater still is intimate and there is no bad seats in the house.

I rented a cabana that requires $650 minimum spend on food and or drinks. The drinks are so watered down that each person had about 5 or 6 and no buzz. I usually have a buzz before I finish my 2nd drink. The food was fair to good. The service was slow because they are not well staffed. They require the spend but the drinks take a half hour each time you order. It looked to be 4 bartenders making drinks for the whole pool area. I am not interested in coming back. The best thing I tried was the shrimp tacos. The fruit plate is fruit salad on a small plate... no presentation and all the fruit mixed and maybe enough for 1... cost about $13. You will not get your moneys worth.

Stayed in premier suite with a balcony. The view is great! The retreat pool is awesome! Highly recommend to spend a couple hours in the pool. The only issue is the casino floor smell like hell if you are a non-somker. Will absolutely stop by again next time nearby San Diego! 👍🏻

I like sycuan because it gives you a smoke-free room. They dont have a buffet, which I absolutely wish it did!! There were restaurants inside and a cafeteria type location with many different types of food. The restrooms were super clean & even had wraps on the toilet seats & it renews every time you press a button. The front desk was very polite, very kind. There are free refreshments self-serve. Pool and lazy river was fun. I kinda wish they had a locker room or their outdoor showers were in a more private area. I felt foolish because I because I had to wash my hair in front of everyone. DO NOT PLAY POKER HEREI enjoyed the trip until the poker room floor made multiple unfair rulings on 9/15 am. My girlfriend was forced to muck her winning hand at showdown.She turned over her cards but dropped them accidentally over the line. Promptly turning over top full house. Cards did not hit muck but floor ruled the hand is mucked. Even players at table were in disbelief.I have never seen this in any of the dozens of casinos I played in. It was only 60 dollars and not about the money but the ruling show cased the unfairness of house rules and possible collusion with staff. The floor manager was sarcastic and rude in response. No class or hospitality.I will not be playing here again or coming back unfortunately because I liked the hotel/pool. As a valor member integrity is important to me and I felt the game lost its integrity at sycuan casino poker room.

Hurts to have to give this place 3 stars instead of my usual 5.1. I was told that due to a new policy, Sycuan no longer allows guests to bring snacks from the outside into the resort. I dont understand this new policy. If Im spending hundreds on games and a room for 2 days, why cant I bring my favorite snack for my time in the room that I paid hundreds of $$$ for? Furthermore, Sycuan has a market less than a minute away. Im not sure if its owned by the same company, but whats the point of the market if we can no longer bring snacks and drinks?2. I was informed that the resort pool closed at 1:00pm on the day that I went. This was nowhere on the website, calendar, anywhere for guests to see in advance. If so, I wouldve booked my room on a different day. Again, Im paying hundreds for a room and on games. Why cant I use the hotel amenities or be notified in advance when they will be closed. I decided to go out to the pool for the one hour that I could, but the waitress spent the entire time talking and never served me once.....I left after 10 minutes.I have come to Sycuan quite a few times throughout the year to relax. When I come, I usually reserve a suite, relax, play games, and go to the pool. I typically spend hundreds here and usually have a great time, but I guess things have changed......maybe Ill try Valley View...Other than that, the hotel hosts were amazing, and the food at viewpoint was good as always.

I stayed here for my birthday and had a wonderful time!The rooms are very spacious and have a minimalistic vibe to it. There’s a mini fridge, which you’ll probably need if you visit any of the in-house dining areas. Our view wasn’t particularly pleasant but it wasn’t bad. We just had a nice shot of the top of the casino, along with the mountains. Lol.There are multiple restaurants to choose from! Pizza, burgers, steak, chicken, Asian cuisine, breakfast… there is soooo much to choose from!The casino is quite smokey but there is a non-smoking side that has a separate entrance if you’d prefer to not smell like an ash tray. The staff was very polite and very helpful when needed.I thoroughly appreciate how clean the facilities were! They keep the gaming areas, the bathrooms and all other areas VERY clean! Even the parking lots are kept up. I love that!Overall, this is a very nice staycation/vacation location!

We settled on pink Buddha and it was very good, not a long wait we basically sat right down, the cashier ringing us up wasn’t very friendly but our server was….but we were disappointed in one area… THE SMOKING WAS HORRIBLE. Even in the designated non smoking areas it was not enforced and I was miserable… what’s the point of non smoking if it’s not enforced? A quick staycation and several trips around the lazy river! The Lazy River was awesome and the best. NO KIDS!!! Yes 21 and up. Extremely friendly crowd and lots of tubes. The pool side service is great but the drink prices are very very HIGH!!! Yeah $36 bucks for a Margarita in a sippy cup. Be prepared with lots of quid and you will have a great timeWe don’t gamble so the casino review can be left to a smoker with a deep retirement pension….The food was absolutely great at the Pink Buddha for dinner and the Viewpoint for Brunch. Ive been coming here for years, more for food than to play. Had no issues up until recently. Not only do they give me a hard time now walking in the door about showing an ID, they wont even take the ID that I have.My drivers license is still one piece. It is starting to crack. Due to my license being cracked, they said they wont let me in. When I bring up that I have the DMV authorized and approved app with my ID on it as well, they still wont take it, since its cracked. It costs over 30 bucks for an ID. If my ID is in one piece why would I go out and buy a new one? Ill say one thing, I wont buy a new one just to be able to come here.

It has a great players club with great rewards and plenty of complimentary gifts for being a loyal patron. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is always top notch and there is a wide variety of goodies to choose from. If you decide to stay awhile, the rooms are clean and quiet, and the atmosphere is peacful, unless of course you are looking for a party, which you can probably find around the pool or on the dance floor in one of the lounges. Initially, they granted this request without hesitation.However, matters took an unfortunate turn when, while picking up my dad, a police officer approached us. I confidently shared that we had received permission from the casino staff to have the truck on the property. To our astonishment, the casino staff contradicted their earlier approval when contacted by the police officer. This abrupt about-face not only caught us off guard but also left us in a difficult and unnecessary predicament.The outcome was twofold: we were compelled to pay approximately $200 for a tow truck, even though we had our own equipment available. Adding to this financial burden was the fact that the trucks brake issues were not resolved. Despite our explanation and urgent circumstances, the casino staff allowed us just one hour to remove the truck from the premises, disregarding the gravity of the situation.I am truly puzzled by the casinos decision to challenge our honesty, particularly given our genuine need for assistance. This disappointing incident has left us feeling unsupported and disillusioned. The lack of consistency and empathy from the casino staff is particularly disconcerting, especially considering our history as patrons and my fathers esteemed membership status.My visit to the Sycuan Casino Resort has been overshadowed by this regrettable occurrence. Its a big facility with a lot of options. Its not difficult to find certain areas like the bingo hall and the poker room are, which cant be said for other casinos. They unfortunately dont have the food court anymore, which once saw Hodads, but they still have options that fit whatever youre craving for, with a steakhouse, sports bar, pizza and a place with a more fast food vibe upstairs. I stayed once and their rooms are nice. It was very clean and had space to easily walk through. Ive had up and downs with the gambling, but thats about what you expect if you play long enough.

Only down side I was there for 4 hours and not once did we get offered beverage service from wait staff, we had to go to the bar and get our own. Visited one washroom and it was not pleasant and in need of attention, brought it attention of staff and they sent someone.
