Far exceeded my expectations…Max is NEXT LEVEL!I wanted to write a review about Max Allen because he has literally gone above and beyond to help support me in my golf game and journey. He has completely rebuilt my swing from grip, to set up, to take away, to position at the top, to angle of attack and club pathway including contact and finish.To summarize, I was a PGA apprentice over 30 years ago and stopped playing regularly because our sons got into baseball and my wife and I did everything we could to support them. I started coaching baseball and my wife libby handled the team mom and team party stuff. So I stopped for 25 years.This past August I took golf back up and found Max through a friend.I’ve had regular lessons since August and have improved from a 18 handicap bogey golfer to a 11.6 handicap and have broken 80 - 3 times in the last month.I continue to work with Max to improve and get to my short term goal of being a single digit handicapper and long term goal of being a scratch golfer.Max has the most advanced tools at his fingertips and the knowledge and on course experience to maximize the use of the Swingworx technology. Swingworx has an incredible indoor studio in Carlsbad, CA. The hitting bay is huge and roomy. Max has build a custom indoor chipping and putting area as well.As a student I feel very comfortable in his golf bay. It literally feels like you are outdoors. I have played on simulators in the past and have never felt comfortable in them. I always felt crowded and crunched for space and this causes me anxiety and tension in my hands.Max’s set up is big league.He has cameras running at all times from two angles and vantage points. One from behind and one from the side. He has a large screen TV to use for review of video and analytics as well as the screen that it used to hit the golf balls into. The hitting screen is probably 15 feet X 15 feet.Max uses Trackman technology that literally tracks 100 percent of all of the criticalmetric points. Max doesn’t guess about how to fix your golf swing. He uses facts and analytics that he draws from his top of the line analytic equipment. He pairs 2 angle cameras and his track man data sets to uncover issues and create plans to correct movements and pathways. I would completely recommend working with Max Allen to improve your golf game at all skill levels. Max has been instrumental in improving my sons competitive golf performance on his High School team, improved my more casual golf game and has helped my wife to take up the game for the first time. For all of us he has been both supportive of our present skill level and encouraging to improve our performance to the next level. The judicious use of swing tracking tools and no gimmick approach to a biomechanical swing, combined with purpose driven practice are irreplaceable and like nothing I have experienced elsewhere. Max’s competitive golf background greatly improved our course management and took numerous strokes off all of our scores. Moreover his in-depth knowledge of the equipment and fitting process informed each of us in our journey to match our skills to the tools of game on a truly value priced basis.

Been working with Max for the past few months and he has completely transformed my swing and my golf game.He uses the best technology to analyze my swing and really breaks down the science of the changes he is making. He doesn’t focus on quick gimmicks, but makes sure you have an optimal and repeatable swing over time. I found the videos he sends after each lesson with voice over really helpful between each of our practice sessions.The facility is top notch - has a trackman bay, putting green, and sand to practice on.

I want to thank Max for all the assistance with my game. After knee replacement, activities like tennis, pickleball and hiking are all currently on the back burner. Golf is one thing I can do and still get some exercise. The lessons and subsequent improvement have made the game so much more enjoyable. I’ve gone from 112/115 per round last year to mid to low 90’s this year. I have even had a few high 80 rounds. I respect Max’s ability to explain at all levels the proper techniques to improve both my swing and consistency. The lessons have made a significant improvement to the joy of playing a round of golf. Now if I have a mishit or two, I think, what would Max be saying. More often than not, I can self-coach my way through and not let it ruin the rest of my game. The technical info Max emails after a lesson is extremely valuable. With the 2-angle slow motion video and his narration describing the before and after changes, I can see improvements being made. My wife has also improved her game immensely with Max’s coaching. This has made golf such a great (Do together), activity for us. We now play once or twice a week and really enjoy our time together. I also want to say, Max makes each lesson fun and I always look forward to the next one.

Max has helped me tremendously in my game. I started with basic fundamentals with him and it has led me to shoot scores that I could not even imagine. The form work he teaches truly does work. He methods and teachings are easy to follow. The data does not lie. I went from shooting high 80s to mid 70s. The swing I have now wouldn’t of happened if I did not get taught by Max.

I spent a lot of time searching and vetting golf instructors and coaches. Max has a SYSTEM. His approach made a lot of sense to me vs. the other methodologies out there that others may use. Im a systems and efficiency focused person. Breaking down the mechanics of the swing and focusing on those movements has been very helpful. I highly recommend him.

By far the most efficient golf lessons I had. The combination of all the different camera angles to review my set up and swing, and then the follow up email with video to help me look back on everything we went over during the lesson. I can’t recommend Max enough.

As I grew more unsatisfied with the occasional random golf tip sessions I was taking, I decided to begin at the beginning. At Swingworx, I started with a short series of lessons to learn the basics of grip, stance, posture etc. Max, presented everything in a clear, simple way. Now with those ideas becoming second nature, we have moved on to routing out flaws in my mid to short game. After two sessions and some range time, I am seeing clear improvement in my ball striking. Maxs use of technology is exceptional. Looking forward to significantly lowering my index in the coming year. I highly recommend Max Allen and Swingworx for your golf instruction.

I have going to Max for about 1.5 years now. At first we started with a series of lessons spaced only a week or so apart as we rebuilt my golf swing to get rid of a nasty over the top move which resulted in weak fades. As we progressed through those lessons I was seeing so much improvement on the course that I booked another block of 10 lessons from Max to continue our work over the course of a year. The change in my golf swing and my ball contact has been dramatic. I cant hit a slice even if I tried now :) At this point we are in the refinement phase of my swing. Tweaking small movements to get more and more consistent. From the first day to now I am totally different golfer. I have gained 30 yards at least throughout the bag just from making better ball contact and learning how to properly compress the ball. I cant say enough good things about Max. I will continue to see Max at a less frequent pace as we refine things and progress my game to the next level.

I started working with Max a little over a year ago. I had gotten into some bad habits with posture and set up that was leading to very inconsistent ball striking. We started out by cleaning those items up and eventually moved onto the swing itself. I have been taking lessons from different instructors for over 15 years and never before did I feel like I truly understood the plan to improve and what movements needed to happen to get there. Once Max identified the issues we began working on them consistently until they were ingrained. As my ball striking improved we were able to start working on chipping and putting so that the improved ball striking was actually leading to better scores. I have achieved a level of consistency in my play to where what used to be my best rounds are now the baseline. Our lessons now focus more on gameplan, shot selection and mental approach while still making sure the swing is in a good place. His communication is great and the lesson recaps he emails out after every session help you stay on track until your next visit. I recommend Max to every person that is looking to get better at golf and have more fun playing the game.

I have been playing this crazy game for 20 years on and off and never had a real lesson. A few years ago I started to get more serious about the game playing much more often. Found myself in the position like I think most golfers able to string together a few good shots a round, if lucky maybe once or twice a year the stars aline and everything clicking. My thought was play more youll get better... Was not working for me and was in serious search of someone that can step in breakdown my swing and teach me the proper fundamentals of a golf swing.I found Max! I could not be more happy with the progress we make every session. He was quickly able to watch my swing break it down and change my game. After my third lesson I shot my all time low breaking 80 which has not become a regular thing but most definitely do to the adjustments Max had made. I tend to leak back into my old habits prompting another session and always walk out amazed at his ability to in real time to make minor adjustments to get me back on my game.I highly recommend seeing Max if your looking to visually break down your swing and get adjustments needed.

I have had a few golf instructors in the past and would have to say that I have had the best results with Max. His teaching style resonates with me and his analysis using the Trackman swing monitor and his ability to translate that into a series of drills to correct or tweak my swing makes learning easier and effective. After each session he sends a video highlighting the problem I came in with and the drills needed to correct. I have gone from a handicap of 21 to 13 and have no doubt that a few more sessions will get me under 10. My nephew expressed an interest in golf and I will be setting him up with Max to get started. I would highly recommend Max, you will not be disappointed.

I have always had an interest in learning the game of golf. For a lot of years, it was simply going to the range, hitting a bucket of balls and hoping for the best. As is the case with most amateur golfers, this never led to any real improvement.My wife and I finally decided to go visit Max at Swingworx a few months ago. It has made all the difference to our games.Not only in his coaching and feedback on point, but he also offers a Trackman system in his facility that allows for you to very clearly see how each component of your swing is doing at any given time with real time statistical feedback.I went into the lessons with Max having a very love/hate relationship with golf. I couldnt confidently go play a round with friends. After lessons with Max, I now have the fundamentals down and look forward to my next 18 with a renewed sense of confidnce.

I was new to the game and had yet to learn what I was doing. I became a Youtube junky, and it wasnt working. I researched instructors, and I decided on Max based on reviews. Max exceeded my expectations. He is very analytical and breaks down the golf swing in detail, explaining each variable. He only has you work on one part of the swing at a time and provides your training video, which is an excellent aid for practice. My game, specifically my approach shots, has improved tremendously. To the point, my golf buddies have purchased lessons. I am now hitting more greens. My next round of classes will be the driver to hit more fairways. I strongly recommend Max if you want to learn the proper technique with your golf swing and lower your handicap.

So having played golf badly for over 25 years my wife gifted me lessons for Christmas. I was not sure if I wanted the usual fair of a golf pro giving me instruction at a course or someone who could combine more of a bio mechanical look at my swing with one on one instruction. As it happens I was referred to Max through friends and thought that i would go take the assessment he was offering to see if there was a fit. Needless to say there was ..Max asked me what my goals and targets were and what i wanted at the end of the sessions and simply told him some level of consistency. I had always been frustrated having hit a good shot never being able to subsequently repeat it. I took a five session package with Max over an 8 week period and practiced hard in between. I would say my improvement is measurable following Maxs patient and clear instruction. I am making more consistent contact with the ball, my set up and posture is more aligned, I hit the ball straighter and further but still struggle with follow through which Max is able to help me with long after my sessions had expired by sending him video which he reviews and critiques. The technology, sensors and cameras Max uses in his studio are state of the art and really help see where adjustments need to be made as well as before and after replays. Overall Max provides great value for money but be prepared for a workout! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Max and Swingworx - but dont just take my word for it take advantage of the assessment before you buy

Max has taken my game to a level I didnt think I would ever get to! Before my lessons with Max, I had just picked up the game of golf and struggled to even finish a hole. I wasnt consistent in my shots and my contact was poor. I then was able to take lessons from Max and that made a world of difference. Max is able to break down the swing into easy to understand concepts. At the same time he teaches you how to read your shot and what went wrong with the swing. So when I am at the range by myself I can analyze the flight and determine what went right and what went wrong. The other week I was able to record a 81 and I am consistently getting better. Dont throw your money away by trying to teach yourself at the range or on the course. What would have been years of poor habits is corrected in moments with a lesson taught by Max. Build the solid foundation with Max and you will not be disappointed.

Max Changed my game forever. Don’t go to a pro at a golf course. Simply put, Max is a phenomenal golf guru. I’ve been playing the game for a short period of time, about a year and a half, and went to 3 different golf instructors without much noticeable improvement or even a solid understanding of swing concepts from those sessions. After the first interactive session with Max where we can review, chop up and analyze the smallest of movements within the swing on a 60” HDTV in real time, I knew this was a different type of instruction. Between the 5 min recap video after each session and the specific, concise suggestions on what to work on, my level of understanding on what I’m attempting to accomplish has improved tenfold. I’ve only completed five sessions and I can say I’m consistently shoot 5-10 strokes better per round than before. I originally called Max in a moment of crisis. My game had gotten so bad, and I couldn’t fix it by playing more which had been my cure for a long time when my game went sideways.After the initial session Max was able to lay a plan out that would get me back to my goal with a definitive number of sessions to get there. He gave me deliberate things to work on between our lessons, and the first time back on the course after working on my game with him I shot my best round in nearly a year.Beyond all of this he helped me to understand what was causing my ball to do what it was doing, and how to fix it. Now when I start to have my typical mishits on the course, it’s a lot easier for me to source the problem and get back to hitting the ball well.

Started with a swing evaluation from Max and bought the 5 lesson plan the next day because I was so satisfied with that swing evaluation. Over the next 5 lesson my swing completely transformed and I cut 20 strokes off my handicap in that time. Max helps you with more than just technique. He teaches the fundamentals of the biomechanics. He also has a Trackman system, which is super advanced so you can see the progress in your swing, not just feel it. Max is an excellent coach. He breaks things down into small understandable steps and explains the mechanics behind why it works. My favorite thing is the after lesson email he sends with a swing video and key points on what we went over in that lesson. As a brand new golfer, my numbers have improved by a lot in just 5 lessons with him.

Best golf instruction Ive ever had. Max has a great way of presenting swing corrections in easy to understand concepts. Best of all its all on a big screen video for you to review while he explains faults and corrections and then you implement the correction and immediately get to see how youre doing. After the lesson he provides you with an email and video record of your lesson for you to review and use to learn the swing correction and drill. I highly recommend Max Allen as your next coach.

My goal for 2023 was to break 90 and my swing just wasn’t consistent enough to get me there. I went for a lesson with Max and one week later I shot an 86. Simple tips really helped me to have a consistent set up which really helped my game. High recommend!

It was great working with Max, he is knowledgeable about golf and how the body should move to create a consistent swing.My favorite part is at the end of the lesson he sends a video of my swing where it started and the finished product after the corrections so I can work on it between visits.

WOW, Swingworx is a great set up in Carlsbad that offers golf packages for every golfer, you could be a semi-pro golfer, an aspiring collegiate golfer, an average golfer looking to improve like me or just starting out and you simply want to learn the correct way to play the game. This Is The Spot! During my first visit, Max showed me his state of the art equipment as we carried on a discussion about the game and those areas where I thought I needed attention and before I knew it, I was in a session, swinging the club, reviewing data, swinging again and seeing first hand just how little adjustment can really make a huge difference. After my fist session with Max, I went to the range and yes, with a couple biomechanical adjustments that Max recommended using his knowledge, methodology and of course his strategically located FlightScope Tour Xi Launch Monitors and Swing Analysis Softwares etc used to analyze the data from my swing, I indeed sharpened and improve my performance. I hadnt played golf in at least 25 years. I pretty much forget everything. Max started me with the basics and I felt like I was improving every lesson. He is a great instructor. I will be practicing all the things I learned for a few weeks, then I will be back for another 5 lesson package.

If you are a visual learner this is the quickest way to improve your game. After three sessions my index dropped 3.4 points. Max explains things in a concise way that is easy to understand. Golf is fun again!

I’ve been golfing for 20 years and taken lessons at several different places. I’ve never improved as much and as quickly as I have working with Max. So many teachers give you drills to get you to simulate a good swing. Max helps you learn the right swing, with actual instruction on how to use your body and motion correctly in a full swing. It’s not hypothetical, it’s real, actual learning and it’s repeatable. Can’t recommend Swingworx highly enough.
