Horrible experience my family drove a hour away to get myOrder and they forgot to give my aunt the mass release box! It was on a Friday to and she calls us just 1 hour before they closed all weekend as my wedding landed on a Sunday..then they expected us to drive back and get it again as they close on the weekends. She offered to leave it outside. The butterfly’s didn’t even fly!!! & one was even dead ! I’m very disappointed! I was only refunded for the box however I feel like the entire order should have been refunded. Whatever this is isn’t working and you guys need to figure out a better process. I won’t be purchasing again..

We lost my favorite person in the world, my Nana, on August 1, 2022. Her one request for her funeral was a butterfly release. She knew every time we saw a butterfly, we knew it was our Papa, her husband, visiting us. She wanted us to think of her every time we saw a butterfly. It was an easy process, the instructions were easy to understand and the symbolism of releasing the butterflies was beautiful. We are grateful!

I purchased live Painted Lady Butterflies for my parents enurnment in June. The butterflies were shipped to two different locations: Westfield, IN, and Gilbert, AZ, where my son and his family reside. I ordered a total of 18 individual decorative boxes and each box contained four butterflies. We did a video chat on our phone, so my sons family could participate in the ceremony. Counting down from 3, we all released our butterflies at the same time. What an amazing experience to watch them come out of hibernation and take their first maiden flight. All 72 butterflies survived the journey and were alive and well. It was beautiful! My grandchildren loved it and will have fond memories of this day. I highly recommend Swallowtail Farms for any occasion. Their website provides you with all the information you need to know about how the butterflies are raised, their environment, shipping details and much more. I found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. Great memorable experience!

Such a great experience. We ordered 3 dozen painted monarchs and I was skeptical while caring for them, since it was my first time. I followed the directions and everything turned out beautifully. Everybody had a great and unique experience opening their individual butterfly. We did this for my sisters celebration of life, following her passing this year. She was 36 years old, which is why we ordered 3 dozen. They send a few extra incase, but they all were alive and well and looked great. Would definitely recommend if considering for your celebration. Great customer service.

We purchased a butterfly release package for the memorial of my daughters passing. I was stressed this being our first memorial and first live butterfly release. Swallowtail Farms received several voice messages and emails from me and their response was immediate. Their customer service was great!! I will definitely go to Swallowtail Farms for our yearly memorial. My family enjoyed the beautiful butterfly release! The live butterflies helped a very sad occasion end with many warm smiles! I ordered two dozen for my grandmothers funeral in Alabama, they were absolutely beautiful. I loved the instructions I was given for release & the excellent customer support I received from the staff on both email and phone! This company really cared about their butterflies and explained the correct way to release the butterflies and store them. I was extremely hesitant about releasing butterflies because of cruelty concerns, but all 24 butterflies were healthy and active. If I ever do a butterfly release again, I will continue to use this company!

Our butterflies were amazing and FLEW!!!!!Lets just say I was nervous... and I was the bride.... so nerves were my thing during this time lol Anyways- from speaking to Larissa a couple of times and then actually ordering for our wedding and receiving the shipment everything went GREAT!!! Everything went as planned and our guests were amazed and touched by the mass release. Best idea and best company to work with. Impressed with my experience with Swallowtail Farms. I ordered a dozen butterflies to surprise a friend of mine for her birthday, and the butterflies arrived right on time. Jackie was great throughout the entire process. She explained everything thoroughly before I made my order....The instructions that accompanied the butterflies were extremely detailed and very helpful as well. What a wonderful and unforgettable experience to be able to give someone and share with them... I think it is a great gift idea for any occasion - big or small... I am one happy customer. Ive ordered from Swallowtail since 2009. My dear Mother in Healthcare manor, 1st. All the elderly loved sharing in the experience. Then my Grandsons graduation from HS, then my best friend to be lifted after a death in the family.Now Im sending to my Greatniece for 1st new baby, my Great great niece!!!

We just had a butterfly release in honor of our mother’s birthday. She passed this year and we wanted to to do something special. This was such a beautiful experience. The directions were very easy to follow and 58 butterflies were released. All were living ( I might add 3 had injured wings so I would make sure to order a few extra) This company has this process down very well. I will be a returning customer. I ordered these to surprise my wife at our November wedding in Arizona. They were shipped from California on time over a Friday night and arrived early Saturday morning by FedEx at the hotel front desk. They were packaged well and came with detailed instructions. I selected the 2 monarch/48 painted ladies package. We had a 98% launch success rate. Her grandmother loved butterflies and this was my way to honor memories of her family members. The butterflies were a huge hit with guests and it is one of the highlights that guests are still talking about a week after the wedding. Highly recommend Swallowtail Farms.

The butterflies were beautiful, however because of the “rural” location of the release, the butterflies could only be delivered on a Friday, while our event was on a Sunday morning.It would have been nice to have known this as we were wedding planning and had to make some serious adjustments to receive the butterflies last-minute with almost zero notice... The only notice being that I happened to check the tracking and saw they were already enroute!We kept the butterflies exactly how instructed after rehearsing the instructions for weeks (they can be found online). They were kept cool at proper temperature (we replaced ice packs as necessary) in the basement, for two days/nights instead of just one.At the time of the release (a nice cool summer morning) half of the butterflies were dead. We are farmers, and have lots of experience taking care of animals, so with due diligence, we did everything in our power.Quite a waste of money, if only we had been notified of the rural shipping, I would have had time to find and use another address to retrieve them from on Saturday.What butterflies survived were absolutely beautiful, and so was the mass release box, but it was awkward when a child yelled out that they were in fact dead... Anyways, just food for thought.

I ordered a dozen painted lady butterflies for a release in honor of my moms birthday (my mom had passed away a few months ago). All of the butterflies arrived the day before with instructions for care. On the day of the event, the butterflies were released easily and were beautiful and healthy. They hung around us for a little while and we got some amazing pictures.

I ordered seeded graduation favors for my daughters luncheon. They arrived quickly and are beautiful and so unique. Jacque was great during the ordering process. I had left out a detail and she phoned and emailed me right away to ensure the order was correct. I cannot say enough positive things about Swallowtail Farms!

We ordered the butterfly zoo for our daughter on her birthday. At first it seemed like a wonderful idea. We purchased 12-larvae and they were immediately very active.Three days later our daughter saw that two of the larvae had been eaten by others; she/we were really surprised! But the really poor customer service was even more surprising than that.When sending an email to customer service their only response was that it was very unusual and they hadn’t previously heard of this issue. Then all communications stopped. At $29 plus shipping this isn’t that big of a sale, and we never asked for a refund, which makes this even more unusual.Very, very poor customer service. Would advise potential customers to consider going elsewhere.

This was our first butterfly experience !They were shipped right after the order so they arrived perfectly on time. Boxed nicely and all 12 flew. This was a memorable experience for all ages. The tip about refrigeration before opening, really slowed them down, which meant for a longer experience. Thank you for making this memorial special. Highly recommended!

Ordered 25 painted lady butterflies and 2 monarch for wedding release.Followed instructions and when it came time to release butterflies they were all alive. Thank you for making my daughters wedding a memorable one. The butterflies have a lovely home in Azalea Path Gardens in Hazelton, IN.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! This was at my friends wedding. The butterfly bled and pooped blood before flying off and fell back down to the ground. It was barely able to fly off and was disoriented but kept falling to the ground. The box was very tiny and cramped for the butterflies to be in. It was definitely horrifying and disgusting.
