I highly recommend Ben at Sustainable Computing. He is very knowledgeable and also very patient with people like me who were not made for the computer age. He has repeatedly helped me straighten out messes on my computer without showing any amazement at how I managed to create such problems. He is smart and clear in his instructions. Again, highly recommend.

Ben is amazing. I spent $200+ on someone who was an AppleCare alumni who didnt solve the problem, in person. Ben did, in half the time, via Zoom. He knows his Mac computers, his brain can quickly track through a situation and see all of the following: the solutions, what isnt clear, how to get clear --- and then it all happens. He was able to guide me through what I didnt have familiarity with, he adapted quickly to my knowledge level (adjusting up and down as needed), and he began to offer alternatives as he understood how I prefer to use my machine. My only concern leaving this review is that I will not be able to get onto his schedule as easily if the rest of the world understands hes here to help. Im taking the risk in the name of sharing a solid Mac IT guy with the rest of the Mac user population in a pickle and needing help.

Ben is an amazing teacher! Very patient and knowledgeable. I am at level kindergarten with my knowledge base and get very nervous to even try to talk about what I do t understand. I learned a lot! And feel expanded in my ability to figure things out..

Ben solved a number of my computer problems; especially valuable was connecting my old Nikon film scanner, which had fried my hard drive before when I used the wrong cables. He helped resolve issues with my 10-color printer, my Google site, my website and my small scanner. I absolutely recommend him for his extensive knowledge and patient, friendly manner.

Ben has solved a number of tech support issues for my office over the years, so when I wasnt quite ready to give up on my 2010 Macbook I turned to him for an overhaul. For a very reasonable price Ben gave my old girl a solid state hard drive, new memory, etc., and I was still happily using her a few years later when I (just recently) gave in and bought a new Macbook air for school. If you are looking to give your old machine new life, or if you need to troubleshoot office issues dont hesitate to call Ben.

Ben really knows his stuff! I was never very tech-savvy, but as a new business owner, i needed to get my tech life organized and running smoothly. After just three sessions with Ben, I have made enormous progress decluttering a decade’s worth of neglect, and have gained confidence in making my devices work for me. I arrived to our sessions with very long lists of questions, from “how can I organize my documents so they’re easy to find?”, to “can I make my computer setup more ergonomic?”, to “how do I sync my pictures/music/calendars/etc. across multiple devices?”—and much, much more. I was amazed by how quickly and accurately Ben suggested solutions to each problem. He never wasted a minute—and constantly threw in educational gems in the mix, such as how to use keyboard shortcuts. I feel both energized and relieved from finally having a handle on my tech life! I plan on hiring Ben for regular tech “tune-ups” in the future.
