Noguchi is simply the best sushi spot in Yorba Linda and we are so lucky to have it. There are quite a few options around here and some are quite a bit cheaper but none have the quality that Noguchi has.Their fish is not only impeccably sourced but masterfully cut and presented. You can tell that the all the chefs are quite passionate about their trade and it really elevates the experience.Their dining room is quite casual and I feel comfortable coming dressed up for dinner or right off the tennis courts for lunch.

I absolutely adore this particular restaurant - its one of my all-time favorite places to eat sushi at! What really sets it apart is the impeccable service from the waitstaff, who are always charming, friendly, and go above and beyond to make your dining experience top-notch. And the food? Oh my goodness, its simply phenomenal. Every dish is bursting with fresh and delicious flavors that leave you wanting more. I cant recommend this restaurant enough!

It was amazing, tried both Juns and Hiros omakases and they were both amazing, definitely the best fish Ive ever eaten, and Ive eaten plenty of sushi in Japan. Also tried their Miyazaki beef and it was also delicious, as good as the A5 steaks Ive had in Japan, definitely would recommend.Came during covid and they were very professional and clean. The number of people inside was very limited, all the staff was wearing masks, and we sat at the bar, where each space was separated by a divider, definitely felt safe.

Sushi noguchi is hands down my favorite sushi place now. Never would have heard about it until my boss and coworkers took me one day. Their omakase is some of the best fish Ive ever eaten. The chef Jason always serves the best fish and is always extremely kind and personable. I love the place and always look forward to going back on Tuesdays, highly recommend going.

New owner is rude and they convince you to order the most expensive set menu. We decided to order the mid price $70 per person. We get the bill they claim we ordered the $160 per person. They’re thieves and the sushi were warm and too cheap to turn on the AC. We had to ask them turn on the AC because I hate eating raw fish in the heat. This place is overpriced and not worth it! Go somewhere else!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday. It was not busy, so our party of four got seated right away. We all got Hiros Omakase and everything was really good. Nothing really stood out to me today but the blue fin tuna and the otoro are always delicious. Id come here more often but my wallet cant handle it...lol

I ve been here years ago and had a great omakase experience. Thought i would try it again. Ordered the traditional omakase. The food was okay. Not as good as before. I felt the quality of fish and selection has changed. The price was more than I expected for what we got. Had the food been amazing the price wouldnt have mattered as much. Better places out there for less. Also the restaurant is more noisy than before.

I just wanted to express my unsatisfactory predatory experience towards the end of my lunch. We had already received our check and were about to pay. One of the servers came out to show my kids a variety of cakes and asked which ones we would like. We almost picked two different kinds as this was portrayed by the server as extra FREE service that was being provided like icing on the cake. We made a single selection instead and were served. Once the kids started eating, we flagged down a server to pay. It was only later we were told that there was an extra cost.NO MENTION OF COST WAS EVER MENTIONED DURING THIS WHOLE EXCHANGE UNTIL THE KIDS HAD ALREADY STARTED EATING THE CAKE.Basically, a great lunch experience was ruined for a party of 3 adults and 2 kids. Our group was in shock and floored at what had just happened. I have come to have lunch here multiple times without any issues and did not expect this kind of bait and charge.

Came here for the first time last night. It was amazing! Chef Brian(sorry if mispelled) knew his stuff. He tailored the Hiros Omakase to what I like, explained all the dishes/fish that he made and was super friendly/social. Fish was very fresh and they had all kinds of exotic fish that you dont see everywhere. Definitely going back!

Way over priced for whats being served! That said, good quality sushi rolls. The Toro cut roll at $15.00 was very small. Seaweed paper on the outside was soggy. The diameter of the entire roll was comparable to a nickel. The California roll at $10.00 was a normal sized roll and one of the better ones Ive eaten. Ordered hot tea, which tasted like a low grade matcha, giving off hints of fish smells. After tipping $5.00 I was in for a $35.00 lunch and I left hungry.Yes, very limited menu, unfortunately, Im not wealthy enough to go back to try something else. Too bad.The fact that only two tables were seated at lunch time I guess has no bearing on making adjustments to appeal to a larger customer base for the owner.Perhaps this is just a hobby for him and hes not interested in having more patrons eat at his establishment.Too bad.

My wife and I did the Omakase and it was the coolest experience with the best sushi Ive ever had.The food was absolutely fantastic, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent.We didnt have any of the rolls, but I definitely cant wait to go back and try other things on the menu. With the Omakase we basically got to try all the fish and I can say it is all of excellent quality. My favorites were the bluefin toro, uni, scallop, golden snapper, and live shrimp. The shrimp was served with the tail and head. The tail was delicious and the head could be prepared fried or in a soup. My wife got the soup and I had the fried version. Both were very good, but the fried version was my favorite.Truly a fantastic experience that I wont soon forget. Thank you so much, Sushi Noguchi for one of the very best meals Ive ever had!

First of all the salmon sushi had a LOT of the silver layer on it where you know it was cut close to the skin but wasnt skilled enough to keep it off. Ive never seen that before yet alone that much on salmon. I thought ok, maybe this fish is super fresh or something and it doesnt matter... nope. The salmon had this oddly firm texture to it and it was just bad quality.The tuna was ok, the toro was pretty good.Yes the service is still slow and it seems they are way understaffed with inexperienced people. Us and the table next to us didnt even get pens to sign our check like cmon.Overall its overrated and overpriced.

We ordered Omakase every thing the chef put out was amazing there just needed to be a little bit more. The menu says tell us when your 70% full to make sure you get enough. Before we knew it she was bringing out dessert and to be honest I was at about 70% after dessert. Everything was fresh from Japan. But I could have done a few more pieces of sushi and maybe another hand roll. Service was great, place is very clean. Might be cheaper to just order for yourself and you wont leave hungry.

I loved it. I went for a date and the fish melted in my mouth. The rolls were even better. The selection was small but delightful. Also, the fusion omasake a refreshing new take on sushi that was not hindered by the quality. It was more delicious than it looked and that is saying something. Parking was a delight and service ans even better. My water never went empty and someone was always there to make sure the experience was not spoiled. Any questions regarding the food were thoroughly answered.

Sushi Noguchi has been my familys go-to restaurant for any special occasion (birthdays, anniversaries, guests in town, etc.), and everyone we have brought here has loved it just as much as we do. My husband and I lived in LA where there is an abundance of good japanese restaurants, and were struggling to find a solid japanese restaurant when we moved to north OC until we discovered Sushi Noguchi. For the quality of the food here, the prices are very reasonable. The sushi is fresh, and there are also plenty of cooked food options for those who dont eat raw fish. They can even make rolls that arent on the menu, you just have to ask them if they have what you want! The service here is also top notch, they are super kind and attentive, but dont bother you more than they need to. The ambiance is also so nice inside with all of the wood and spaced out tables. Due to the pandemic, we have not been dining in-person here (I believe they do have outdoor dining now), but we have ordered takeout many times and the food/service have been just as great.

This place is the king of sushi. The owner goes to an exclusive invitation only fish market and picks the highest grade sushi. So if you come here and you order blue fin tuna...Dont be surprised if it costs a lot because its the best tuna. Its a very authentic Japanese style sushi restaurant. They also serve the best rice and if you are a connoisseur of rice you will taste the difference. They have a lot of different types of sushi, rolls, and sashimi. I highly recommend this place because the staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and its an authentic experience. The inside the decor has a boat like Style with successive beams that are exposed that look like the ribs of a boa...its pretty cool. It all goes to giving you a very unique experience that you will not forget.

Sashimi quality was okay (consider fresh), ordered toro but got something that does not look like toro and sadly it was cut in the wrong direction. This is the first time Ive seen someone who cut the sashimi alone the grain and not diagonally or horizontally.Most of the waitress is nice and polite except one who just rush over and take our plate away without asking if were done or not.2 things combine, maybe most of the people doesnt care, but it should never happen in an authentic Japanese restaurant. Maybe the owner doesnt have time to proper train the chef & waitress. Hope there will be some improvement in the future.

I seriously cant understand how this place gets so many stars. I believe this is the worst sushi place Ive ever been to. The name fits for sure because the sushi is really noguchi! I live close by so I was really hoping it was going to be great. We got the opposite. We walked in and werent greeted, the place was super hot inside...no air conditioning in 85 weather. It took a while for the waiter to come to us even though there was nobody there but the sushi chefs. The menus dont have a variety. I asked for a Philly roll and they come out and say they dont have cream cheese...ever....Ive never been to a sushi place that doesnt ever have cream cheese. I asked what vegetables they give as the tempura vegetables and the waiter gives me the menu and tells me to look there. I look thinking, ok he may not know. So, the menu will have the details...no...the menu said vegetable tempura. Lol! Finally, we order drinks...took them forever to bring the drinks! Remember now, we are the only ones there! Then, we asked for straws, nothing. We asked for straws again...they came way later. We asked for Siracha and eel sauce...they were so cheap and gave us one tiny container for each sauce. Honestly, we had our drinks, shared one roll, and went to Maki Yaki in Placentia. That place is so much better! We will definitely not ever be back here again. By the way, the one roll we ate...aye..the crunchy roll...it was gross! It didnt taste fresh at all. I give it 1 star for the miso soup. We did like the miso soup.

Edit: my original review of this sushi bar was some 2 years ago. And today (2/3/22) I revisited. Nothing has changed. Still poor quality sushi - buffet assembly sushi level slightly enhanced. If youre into California roll or spicy tuna roll, this is definitely the appropriate place. If you know anything and appreciate good sushi, stay away from this place.Dont let the Age of the main sushi chef fool you!! Pretty fresh fish, decent nigiri sushi, but main sushi chef - the older Japanese gentleman is a total novice in sushi making. Although he fits the profile of an experienced sushi chef, he is a total beginner, and doesnt provide value to the amount of money he charges for his fish. Totally inflated prices.

Started with toro and yellow tail sashimi, and was very pleased with the quality. Also ordered for sushi giant clam, uni, saba, soft shell crab roll and salmon skin hand roll. This took 1 1/2 hours to get and we sat right in front of the sushi chef.? The thrill was gone. There was a total of 18 customers in the whole place. They had two sushi chefs and seven wait staff joking around in the back. To make a long story short. Two hours to get our food and it was not top quality. I will not go back.The owner of this place needs to stop cutting fish and get some talent in there You cannot do it all yourself.

I have eaten here over six times since they opened in Yorba Linda. This is the best sushi house in Southern California. They serve a consistently high level of flavor, appearance and delivery. Each portion is a masterpiece of beauty to the eyes and the mouth. Each bite let me explore the texture and flavor that is filled my mouth with joy. Tonight I had yellowtail belly and salmon belly sashimi as well as Spanish mackerel and bluefin Toro sushi. Each was magnificent! I ended my Neil on a high note with sweet shrimp served with the head deep fat fried. I drank a trio of cold sake ranging from sweet to dry. I have to admit, I prefer the dry, but all three were lovely. If you havent eaten here you have to do it! If you have eaten here you know exactly what I mean, LOL!

Sushi restaurants are dime a dozen these days in LA and OC, most are little more then American creations with Japanese... umm... cues. Once in a while tho you come across a place that not only stand out from the rest but also give you a real taste of Japan. This is one of those places. Not just with their awesome food, but the kind of hospitality one would only experience in Japan. They do have a few fusion selections but most of what they serve is as Japanese as you can get without flying across the pond. The Omakase is definitely a must try, that and the crepe cake.

The worst meal. I ordered Omakase, but the quality was zero.. The chefs skills were zero. The old waitress was unfriendly and arrogant.. In short, the price was close to a scam.. A style of rip-off from strangers.. I felt completely scammed.I will never do it again... I wasted a happy time on this day... Reflect on it, restaurant owner (old waitress)...
