It was good for the price, the Air conditioner works great, the pool was full of bugs when I went to use it. My key card wouldnt work everytime I got back to my room at night. Pet friendly but the hotels policy is 10 per pet a night but the staff was charging 16. I brought this up and was refunded what I was overcharged. Breakfast ends at 9 am but they wont tell you that. No juice just waffles, frozen stale pastries and fruit. The room was dirty but in a pinch it will work.

They charged my card extra. They say if you stay more then 3 days you have to have room service..I paid day by day because I didnt know how long I was staying. So I ask for trash bags,towels and broom so I could keep the room clean and they refused to give them to me. So they charged 100 bucks for food wrappers soda bottles ect..NO damage whats so ever..just food and drink stuff ..they new I lived out of state so they new I wouldnt come back and dispute it..didnt see the charges till I was back in my state the next day..horrible..well never stay at a super 8 or matter fact any Wyndham resort.

This place feels grimy and smells like a dirty bender and domestic violence. The energy is very dense. Wish I had brought some sage. Might come back someday to become an alcoholic and right some bad Bukowski-esque poetry after another divorce and I lose a few more teeth. The view of the freeway out the window inspires suicidal idealization. Did I have a bad case of the stomach flu here in a parallel universe? I feel like I need to go jump in the summer fetid Chico creek to wash away the hotel room film I acquired in just one evening.

When we got into the room, roaches were crawling across the bed, there was a giant hair ball on the bedside table, and the sink wouldn’t drain. When we told the person at the desk we couldn’t stay there, they said our charges would be reimbursed and back on the credit used for the reservation. Two weeks later; no reimbursement. When I called to ask about it, they told me I have to call Priceline (used to book). Disgusting place and shady management.

Loved this place!! They gave us welcome baggies for us who were coming to Chico State University Graduation and the staff was so welcoming and lovely! They even let us choose on what floor we wanted our room to be, since guests hadn’t arrived yet. The breakfast was free and included with the services and was delicious, many options. I would also like to mention the prices are more on the pricier side given that it is graduation season. But other then that it was a wonderful experience here!

We have stayed here multiple times and usually it is a fine hotel for the price. Went to check in today and we were told we needed a $100 cash deposit on the room which we’ve never been asked for before. Not an incidental charge on the card. $100 in cash that they just want me to give the front desk? Seems fishy and not like a normal policy. I’d stay away. We canceled our reservation and are reaching out to Wyndham.Plus online the room we were trying to book was 89 dollars before tax but when we got there they told us it was 100 before tax. Seems like someone might be hard up for money and I get that running a business is hard right now but scamming customers who stay regularly is a weird way to keep yourself afloat.

The front desk guy was very nice and extremely accommodating and professional. The first room I was put in smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was non-smoking. He personally walked me down to give me two more options to choose from. He also walked with me to the first room to make sure no one was in it. More than one bad experiences from other hotels where that happened.The rooms were great, it was quiet, there were some stains on the carpet and curtains but it was clean and in goof condition. My boyfriend and I have been homeless for the last few months and when we finally got some money together we were able to do a 4 night stay and these people were more than welcoming we also have a husky so it was nice to be able to let him be in the ac considering how hot it is here! 5 out of 5 stars for sure!

Very nice, knowledgeable, helpful front desk staff. Ive stayed here before several times, always a quiet room on the ground floor. Rooms are clean. Fridge and microwave as well as a coffee maker. Breakfast is provided. Not many choices for breakfast, but what is offered is tasty and fresh.

This was one of the best stays I have had at a hotel. I didnt have a reservation, I walked in and the lady at the counter was friendly and very helpful to get us what we needed and in to a room right there. The room was very comfortable and safe feeling, the beds were so soft we all knocked out as soon as our heads hit the pillows! Very clean room and grounds. My only complaint was the lady who took over for the one that got us the room, she was very Rude when I asked about the roll away bed that we payed for when we rented the room. If she isnt happy with her job and rolls it onto the guest maybe she needs to look for another line of work. Besides that we all loved your hotel and enjoyed our stay!

The hotel was alright for a one night stay. However, the staff needs to work on being friendly and welcoming. When checking in, I was trying to be polite and engage in conversation and the front desk lady was very short. The wifi did not work. My blinds would leave a huge gap of visibility. No water bottles were provided. Given the price, I expected some basics. I advised booking elsewhere to get a better experience.

The room was cozy, clean and nice sized. Was well stocked and wonderful air conditioning. Was nice and quiet so really enjoyed the stay. Not a big selection for food as have to watch my sugar intake but enjoyed a banana and oatmeal bar that wasnt to high in carbs. Bed was really comfortable and bed was just right so overall very pleased with the stay.

Pet friendly :) No elevator just stairsI found after I checked in.Im just out of the hospital and my room was for the 3rd floor. Front desk did allow a 30 min window for late checkout.Before I checked out .I stripped the bedding and collected the towels and put them together for easy cleanup. As I do everywhere I stay.An hour later I was notified that there was going to be 100 dollars charge for a missing comforter!I looked through my belonging just to be absolutely sure I didnt mistake a huge blanket for my clothing. Which I did not. Honestly shocked the whole situation. I suggest they watch their security footage to find out when the bedding was removed.

I really like this place! It’s affordable, and the woman at the front desk (unfortunately I forgot her name) is very friendly. She told me she’s run hotels for 20 years, and she said Wyndham is great and makes sure everything is up to code. The beds are very comfy!! I would bring your own blanket (a standard fleece Queen/King blanket would do), because the comforters are very thin. I’ve found this to be true of any hotel I’ve stayed at during COVID, so it’s expected (I’m assuming so they can wash all the bedding between guests). I was very pleasantly surprised by this place, and I’ll stay here whenever I come to Chico. My ONLY complaint is there are not microwaves in the rooms, but not a huge deal.

For $110 a night we expected the place to be clean. The bath tub needed a good scrubbing and they didnt even have a fitted sheet covering the bed... Really Super 8??? My wife and I roll around a lot at night so the regular sheet that used instead of the fitted sheet came off and we found blood stains on our bed. We will definitely spend a little more money to stay somewhere else next time.

I dont like their phone systems; they make it difficult to reach the actual hotel, relay to a call center and make you listen to a long, obnoxious covid warning but I stayed at Chico Super 8 recently, got there pretty late with no notice and the gentleman who checked me in was very courteous. Room was adequate.

I stayed for only 2 days and got bit by bed bugs horrible. Had left my phone number so management could call me back nothing, I guess I wasn’t important. I called Super 8 spoke to someone in charge she was very careless and unconcerned of this situation. Never once asked if I was ok, no customer service at all. I just hope this hotel cleans itself up, because you pay to go relax and stay a place away from home instead you come back home worried you brought bed bugs to your house.

I am a regular guest at this motel and frankly speaking, its the only motel I trust. Staff are friendly, helpful and make you feel safe. In addition, this establishment doesnt tolerate riff-raff! Also, the AC works so well that I have to turn it off sometimes. Most importantly, Staff Dina and Sheila are amazing, and they really take care for their guests! The motel is clean, reasonably priced with spacious rooms and comfortable beds, they provide clean towels with plenty of soap and shampoo and they have a decent continental breakfast! The final analysis is, I highly recommend Super 8!!!

Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and the location was good. The breakfast in the morning was okay- packaged donuts, yogurt, granola bars and bananas. If you want more, Dennys is a block away.The biggest trouble that we had was not with the hotel, but the noise from the traffic on the highway next to the place. We were woken repeatedly with the noise from motorcycles and really loud cars. A room on the far side of the hotel would probably have addresses the noise, but it didnt cause enough trouble to cause us to ask to switch.

I didnt, but my wife went to the breakfast and said it was great. Some of these reviews are crazy and seem to be posted by people who are the actual problem and not the business. We had a great experience and the place is clean. Definitely recommend.

I tend to see so many people that like to write a bad review so when I see a place that deserves a good review I really try and embrace it.The Super 8 Hotel in Chico CA is a wonderful place to stay. No it is not a 5 star hotel by any means but on the whole it is clean well cared for and a pleasant atmosphere for a mid range hotel.We checked in around 6 and the young woman working the desk ( Josselyn ) was absolutely wonderful! Pleasant, polite, with a smile and friendly demeanor. The rooms we nice and comfortable with good amenities such as good size fridge and microwave. Funiture was in great condition and bathrooms were nicely designed. Breakfast was a standard continental with waffles even, and was good for grabbing a quick energy bost to get out the door.I would have given the place 4 stars however the sheets could use a better job of cleaning. A few stains on 1 of each of our pillow cases. Nothing however to sour my experience on staying.Over all if you need a room in the area I would recommend the Super 8 as your first choice.

We asked for a walk in shower. We got one, really nasty. We were supposed to get a queen bed, it was a full. I wanted to use the pool, it was closed. They tried to update the room, but the carpet was really old, and didnt go with the gray and black walls. Disappointed 😞.

This place was amazing like, its one of the best hotels in Chico you could possibly stay at in my opinion. Its affordable and its clean. So many hotels some of us check into are always messy and disgusting, but this place is far from that. Its great and everything about Super 8 meets expectations. The beds are super comfortable and the pillows are like clouds literally. The bathroom is mega clean and they seal it after they santize the bathroom like youll have to tear the tape that tells you its been clean which I love. It makes you feel comfortable knowing it got cleaned properly. The pool is also nice, but youll want to beat the people staying there as well because it does get crowded unfortunately. Secruity is also important right, so this place has solid locks in every room and youll need a key card to access the building which I love. So many hotels dont have the doors locked and anyone can get in the building. The parking lot at this super 8 is also nice and clean, while well lit at night, do you dont have to worry about being scared to go to your car at night also they have a lot of cameras for your safety. In conclusion this place is very comfortable and I recommend it to any traveler or worker stopping by.

I enjoyed my 4 day stay here at super 8 except for the lack of people skills the lady who works front desk holds. The rooms were very good size for my 2 bed room and the bathroom was large. The price was inflated thou at $150.00 in the end and the owner insisted she come in are room so i let the housekeeper in because thats who she sent and to see the bathroom also. Made me and my son feel a bit uncomfortable. There was several large trucks parked in the red all day into the evening while i was there for 4 days with there music blasting so load i i could not even think but maybe it was all the beer they were consuming while out there also. A wonderful experience for sure! Clean rooms and wonderful staff. They are kind and listen to your requests. They have a well maintained fish tank that entertains young children during the complimentary breakfast. The Wi-Fi included in your stay is fast enough for some web browsing and light YouTube clip. Did not use the pool, but it was clean and well lit. Exterior entry doors are locked at night for extra security (open via your key card).

The staff here are great. I stayed here while working in the area. My employer messed up on the dates and scheduled my check out day four days before my last day. The motel staff were aware of my last day in the area and caught the error and contacted my manager on the weekend, arranged for the confirmation and payment without any interruption my stay. Highly recommend this motel.

Room was fine. A/C was weird. It randomly stopped blowing before the room cooled down. I wrestled with that a lot. A used bar of soap was in the shower with a hair on it. Yuck!!! Continental breakfast was the standard choices of waffles, cereal, muffins, etc. What made me rate so low was the creepy bordering on hostile vibe I got from two separate Middle Eastern men.(owner, manager, worker?) Once when I was bringing my luggage and dog in and the other when I was bringing my dog back in from a potty walk. (Yes I paid the extra for the pet friendly room.) Both times the man stopped and openly stared at me. Not just a long glance. It creeped me out. I will not go back there again.

This is the first time I have ever stayed at a Super 8 and I was surprised by how nice and clean the room was. They are probably the best deal in Chico, as well as one of the nicest (maybe even THE nicest) motels in Chico. Very reasonable rates and the new night window girl was very sweet. This place (thank G-d) is the opposite of the Motel 6 that is located next door.

Hotel claimed they couldnt find it so my husband had to pay again so the kids didnt have to stay cramped in the car.Priceline reversed the charge.Only to find out that the hotel charged us an additional time (late check in fee) that we were never told about.This hotel is a scam.If my husband didnt call price line Im sure the hotel would have just pocketed the extra money!No fitted sheet on the matress.Blood or poo stains on the wall.I wouldnt even dare walkkng on the nasty carpet without shoes.Never again!!!!

Clean rooms, small bathrooms, they serve breakfast for a few hours in the morning, but we weren’t able to check it out so don’t know what it looks like. The AC in the room took forever to get cold or cool off our 3rd floor room, it was 105 outside and the room didn’t feel much different than outside for a few hours.The gal who checked us in looked like she was having a really bad day. It sort of sets the tone for your visit if the first person you see there doesn’t look like they even want to be there.We ran to the store for some snacks and forgot forks so we grabbed a few from the breakfast area. There was paint thinner and cleaning supplies on the counter with utensils uncovered in the open. I was too disgusted. I won’t be back to this hotel, mostly because we don’t stay in Chico enough, but I’ll explore other hotels in the area before returning here.

RUDE but CLEAN ROOM Front desk was not customer friendly everytime I encountered them. When I arrived 2 hours early see if I could check in early I was told no, which was fine but she was extremely rude about it. I had arrived a bit earlier than I expected that day due to no traffic. Later when I did check in a different girl at the front desk was more concerned with having a conversation with one of the regulars there than actually carrying on a conversation with me when I checked in, gave me keys to my room and didnt give me any supporting information, asked about internet access was told info was was in my room & I had to ask again what my room number was. The wifi password was not correct in my room when I called down to verify was told again info could be found in my room but it was incorrect to begin with, she gave me the correct password and seemed irritated I called. Room was ok... room was clean. Check out was another run in with the owner/operator lady who could not be bother to get off the phone to get me checked out. I have worked in the hospitality industry and these ladies might need to brush up on their customers service skills.

Best affordable hotel in Chico. Its cheaper than others but just as nice. They dont have extras like a hot tub, but for me that makes no difference. Will not stay again. The beds were boards, the blanket was paper this fleece, cooler kept shutting off, fridge knocked all night, furniture was broken, etc. The walls are thinner than the blanket. You can hear people sneeze outside. Any door opening on our floor sounded like our door. Also the parking lot was so small we had to park on the street. Its not a great place either so we worried about it being stolen or broken into. Would give 0/5 if possible.

Do not stay at this place. Housekeeping is more interested in knocking on your door and asking you when you are checking out way before noon. There was nobody in the hotel and you would think management would be interested in a guest staying another night rather than rushing them out. I have more business in Chico and will have many opportunities to make a choice, this location won’t be one of them.

Was here during carrfire evacuation, this may have played in to the issues we had during our stay. The hotel was dirty, smoking is allowed inside, and we would frequently encounter doorway littered with half smoked cigarettes while we headed in or out of the room. It was incredibly loud, and management was not friendly. This hotel allows pets.

Stay; Tuesday - Thursday Feb 2014: I booked online, through the Super 8 site. I entered my corporate coupon code, saving 15% per night off total bill for a 2 night stay only (as of 02/17/2014 code still avail online). I am a college-student @ CSU Chico commuting every week, staying a bare minimum of 3 days/2nights in Chico - so at this point I feel Im an expert on nearly all the motels in the Chico area. Motels relatively cheap w (hopefully) quality service and rooms is my constant hunt! Being able to use a Super 8 coupon (as the tab for entering a Super 8 coupon, when booking online, asks for the type of guest you are; as in an employee of a corporation [?], military personal [?], etc... they also offer the selection; none which still allows you to use the corporate coupon savings code - very cool since there is no selection for students :), and save REAL $ - not nickles and dimes, like $20 per two nights in savings! Upon arrival at Chicos Super 8 (appx. 12:30pm), I introduced myself and offered my reservation confirmation number @ the front desk. It was not needed as ID is required at time of check-in. Although I had requested (through my online reservation), where most motels would simply balk at the suggestion, a 3hr early check in. The woman behind the counter said; ..We do not allow check ins before 3pm, but let me look @ your reservation... Ten seconds later, she looked up at me from her computer, smiled, and stated that my room would be ready in 15min! - Nice! When I got in my room (I had waited at a very close rest. w/in a two minute walk of Super 8, and grabbed a quick bite to eat while my room was being made ready), I was impressed. Its an old-fashion motif, yet most of the furnishings looked nearly brand new. A large table, 3 high backed chairs, an armoire, plenty of lamps (wall mounted and stand alone), and a huge executive desk w/ chair (which I enjoy because i can lay out all my books and school notebooks - which is alot - plus my laptop and still have room to write comfortably). The bathroom counter-top was nearly new. A coffee maker plus 4-5packs of decaff & regular offered, sugars & powdered creamers too, cups etc... A very large flat screen wall mounted, excellent reception, with more channels than I could possibly watch (HBO too). Free wifi, and & easy log-on instructions; no log-on probs experienced; very fast connection speed - ave 270-300kbs. I hardly ran into staff, but in my mind thats a good thing. When I requested a wake-up call, it rang 2Xs before the front desk picked up; excellent! The bed was great, slept awesome. Solid heater/air cond; (and in Chico & this time of the year, I used both). Use of the rooms desk for studying, and pc work (especially the lighting) was good-excellent. Quiet atmosphere, hardly a peep have I heard. The hallways are clean, if a little outdated, and the only other compliant is a lack of elevator, and my room is on the 3rd floor. Super 8 claims to offer a free continental breakfast, however I did not visit the small buffet to offer an experience. Will I stay here again? And its for reviewing YOU.The parent company that owns you is valid for review. Trying to dodge negative reviews instead of fixing the problem is not a good look. I was on the road for 14 hours and because it was July 4th weekend many hotels raised their prices automatically. I booked my room nearing midnight when I was. 3 hours outside of Chico. I arrived around 3am after having been on the road for 14 hours. Check in wasnt until 1pm. I was exhausted and I asked if there was anything they could do. Since as a check-in date wasnt available. I am a frequent guest her due to my traveling. Additionally the company I work for often used super 8 due to my recomendations booking clients and colleagues who travel. Well because Im The head of human resources that stops now. What that means us that super8 will now lost over 10 thousand dollars a year or more since I will no longer have any clients or employees stay with them. All because they tried to get another 80 dollars out of me.The manager is a disgusting mean spirited woman who has cost her company money because of her horrible atfitude. I will gladly spend a little more money on a diffwrebt hotel knowing that my clients and employees are treated well. Good bye super8Attitude.

Its an avrage motel in a college town. There were a pair of abandoned jeans in a stairwell that took 2 days to get picked up by staff. The staff were friendly but when I asked to use the restroom when I was checking in they refused to let me in because it was too late in the evening
