Would give zero if possible. I specifically asked to remove sour cream, onions, olives, and tomatoes because I have severe allergies. There was also hair on my food, had to throw everything away, complete waste of $42. I do not recommend and will not be back.

This is a relaxed and friendly place to have breakfast. The portion sizes are enough for two. The eggs Benedict and home fries were very flavorful and hearty. Their huge cup of hot chocolate is the perfect antidote for a chilly California morning.

This is very much a classic diner the food is quick to arrive delicious and well prepared and almost so beautiful to look at but you feel bad eating it…You stop feeling bad after the first bite then you start to feel wonderful thinking that there’s no possible way you could ever put an end to this joy.I ordered the cheeseburger with fries and let me tell you each bite welcome the next they have wonderful parking outdoor dining and like I said before a classic feel.This is definitely one of those places you wanna come back to.

Ive been going to the sunrise Cafe for years admittedly mainly to just get their bacon and egg breakfast. The food has always been good. The stuff has always been kind and accommodating regardless of what stage of my life Ive been in. They have free Wi-Fi and are one of the only breakfast places in town that you can get a normal American breakfast.Prices are a little high.But Ive never felt cheated because of the quality of their service and food.

Veggie omelet was the bomb!!! Absolutely loved it. Chili Verde had so much flavor, also delicious. For being as busy as they were at 9:30am they still took care of us and kept our coffe cups filled. Excellent service and great food.

I want to give this place 5 stars. The food is amazing, portions are great and the staff is really nice. But $34 including tip for an oatmeal is flat out ridiculous.Tip: Sometimes they keep the doors open so wear a sweater, while munching through your wallet.

Great local cafe with a variety of menu options. I have only tried their various breakfast options so I plan on returning to try some of their other items. Service has always been fast and friendly and it’s pretty easy to get seated immediately. On my last visit I tried the Juan’s burrito which included eggs, sausage, beans, and cheese then topped with an enchilada sauce, olives and avocado. It also came with a side of hash browns. It was great and a large enough portion for two meals.

Was in the mood for huevos rancheros and found this local cafe that still serves breakfast in the afternoon. They have tables both inside and outside and I was able to get seated right away. Service was very fast and friendly and the portion size was great. I love that they didn’t skip on the ranchero sauce so I had enough left over to take home for another meal. It came with a side of hash browns and corn tortillas and I added a side of avocado.

First time visitor to San Clemente. But surely wont be our last. This place has some incredible and delicious food. In the morning bring your breakfast appetite. From the French Toast to the Breakfast Burritos you wont go hungry. The Carna Asada burrito is at least 1.5 lbs of gooey goodness. Potatoes, Eggs, cheese, salsa and of course the Carna Asada. The biscuits and gravy is a meal in itself. So be ready for it. Great service and friendly staff. Outside seating is available and beautiful to sit and enjoy the weather. Maybe youll get lucky that day and see the Collection of Older Cars. Which are absolutely beautiful to see.

While making an annual getaway to San Clemente two years ago, we got a tip from hotel staff to try Sunrise Cafe for breakfast. It was such a perfect recommendation that we hastened back the following year to order the same delicious breakfast tacos and found the same waitress, Holly, who is such a delight! And here we are for our third year and so glad to get the opportunity to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast tacos and hash browns before heading back home. Try the French toast too! Holly is a professional and a delight! Leslie took good care of us too. And Thomas was so helpful!

I havent been to this Cafe since 1988. But I would go every Saturday and Sunday for the Gyros omelet. Fantastic. Glad to see its still open for business. Wish I lived a couple thousand miles closer, I would definitely like to enjoy the breakfast again. 😋

Local artworks adorn the walls, and the seating and tables are not only aesthetically pleasing but also spaced perfectly for foot traffic flow in the main dining room so you can move about freely without worry of bumping anyone or anything.Our waitress was very nice, very lovely and personable (Although I do appreciate it when servers introduce themselves at the outset.) And made us feel very welcome and let us take the time to really SEE the full menu options.We didnt feel rushed which is nice.The menu is Awesome, and makes choosing a real Treat with so many Great Options.We arrived at 11:30 am, so I couldve had brekkie or Lunch, and the choosing was difficult with so many amazing options.I went with the IRISH OMELETTE (featuring corned beef hash inside, with mushrooms onions and cheese) and she had the Veggie Eggs Benedict.The food was on our tables in less than 5 minutes after ordering and the portion; WOWZERS. My dining plate was full, from edge to edge, as was hers. I have never felt so insulted or treated so rude just for coming in for breakfast. The host completely ignored me for 10 mins. The chefs are cursing on the line and the food was cold and not good. I have never been to a restaurant and treated so badly. The staff kept giving me dirty looks the whole time. What is wrong with all the people who work here? Worste experience in socal by far.

I’ve been there at least a dozen times, and the food was never better than average, and was downright sickening until I sorted out the cause. Avoid the spinach in your omelette, as it consistently made me and my friends sick. It took me a long time to figure out what was causing our diarrhea and I finally narrowed it down to the spinach after another friend tried the spinach after I warned him, and he ended up with diarrhea too! :) After our last visit with bad bacon, my friends finally insisted on trying a different breakfast restaurant, and we found a gem — Antoine’s Cafe. On google, Antoine’s Cafe currently has just a 0.1 higher rating, but their food is more than three times as good and won’t make you sick. So, with much better options, I recommend skipping Sunrise Cafe.

Spectacular spot to grab a casual, inexpensive breakfast. Quality is not sacrificed at the price, though. I would say the buttermilk pancakes are some of the best Ive tasted, with an excellent texture and a brilliant flavor that is perfect with a little syrup and butter. Ive been here twice and the service is phenomenal. The food is decent too. First time i came i got the eggs Benedict and pancakes both were very good. The second time I got the rib eye steak and eggs with English muffin and pancakes. Their coffee is very good.A word of advice, Do not I repeat do not get the steak here. The steak was this thinly cut rib eye and was absolutely flavorless. Not to mention it was the driest steak Ive probably ever had. Took two bites and was not taking a third. I literally ate everything but the steak. I also got charged full price for it. Not complaining too much for being charged full price but that was a little bit surprising. It was probably $3 worth of meat, if that. I would still recommend this place, but please just dont order any steak.

I thought the resort might do more to share in the burden of trash barrels along the shoreline. those barrels were full even in the and the City was expected to take responsibility although the resort guests were using those trash cans. I pass by this place all the time and always thought it looked like a cute spot. The other day my husband and I decided to go out to breakfast and I chose Calypsos. The food was delicious and the portions were big, plus everything came out super fast. It was hard to choose what I wanted because everything looked so good! It wasnt busy when we went, so it was super quiet. We dont go to sit-down places often, but I would go back to this place.

Service was very good. Cafe is casual and inviting. We had a Wonderful breakfast.My husband had the fluffy pancakes and bacon....simple and one of his favourites. I had the bacon breakfast sandwich on a toasted everything bagel, it was satisfyingly filling! Yummmmm. Had me full until the late afternoon giving me lots of time to enjoy beach time. Highly recommend this place for breakfast especially with the enjoyment of sitting at one of the tables outside to eat breakfast and enjoy the morning sunshine.

First I was up early and it was already open. Second I could actually go inside and sit at the counter like a normal person. I highly suggest having a side order of bacon while you decide the rest of your order. And dont forget about the freshly squeezed orange juice.I thoroughly enjoyed the ham steak and the hash browns but most of the menu looked really good so if youre looking for a breakfast early in the morning where you can sit inside or out, I suggest getting a side order of bacon and going to this place. :)

Im a Fan of the Sunrise Cafe.My works office just moved to San Clemente & this is the 1st Breakfast spot Ive tried - And, I loved it. The bacon wasnt my favorite, honestly, but I usually like it crispy & I forgot to ask for it crispy that day, so I canNOT blame that on Sunrise Cafe nor the cooks.The rest, I thought, was fantastic. I love the small diner feel of a place like this... Love that; its lit by sun w/ all the windows, has good/assertive/polite servers, indoor & outdoor seating... On & on. The vibe is great. And seems like a locals spot.My kind of place.I will be going back.And, if you havent checked out the Sunrise Cafe -- you should. Its worth it, if you like Breakfast as much as I do.

Hadn’t been there since new owner took over. Was greeted and seated quickly. Food came out fast. Daughter ordered choc chip pancakes. She could only eat half. Portions were good but a lot of chips and kinda overwhelmed her pancakes. I ordered the ham scramble. When I got mine the eggs were still slimy so I sent it back. Waitress returned with my plate and you could tell they just threw the entire thing back on the griddle and then put it back on my plate by the color and dark edges of the eggs and ham. Ham was large cubed pieces of the lowest grade ham you could by. It was flavorless and rubbery. The cheese in my scramble was totally Burnt from throwing it back on the grill. Toast was burned and not buttered. So dry it just crumbled when you took a bite. Needless to say I didn’t eat much of my meal. We will not be back anytime soon.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!Bought my husband breakfast on FATHERS DAY & waited for 20 minutes after the time given JUST to be told to just leave and cancel my PAID FOR ORDER. Figured id support a restaurant at the bottom of my street but, NEVER AGAIN!! So rude, so unprofessional even if you were busy that is not the CUSTOMERS fault and the way the took care of the situation made it 100x worst!!
