I visited Sunny Family Dental with my daughter, and I must say, its impeccably maintained. The receptionist, a warm-hearted woman, took excellent care of us. The customer service was top-notch, and they made sure we felt welcome with great music and a pleasant atmosphere. We were even offered refreshments; I opted for some warm tea. She provided detailed information about Sunny Family Dental and their offerings for new patients, which was particularly helpful for my daughters first visit. The staff was respectful and friendly, and overall, it was a delightful experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. The staff of Sunny Family Dental is very hard working and knowledgeable! I’ve come here for a few months now to get dental work done and my experiences have been nothing but awesome! Alongside Dr. Shah’s skills with crown prep and fillings, I love his emphasis on dental education as he took the time to explain my situation in depth. I haven’t seen this with any other dentist. The assistants and hygienists are all very helpful and got rid of any anxiety I had before sitting in the chair. Shout out to the entire team!!!

Ive been a patient at Sunny Hills Family Dental for a few years now, commuting from Orange, and its always worth the trip. I went to Dr. Shah for a second opinion about re crowning a molar from another dentist. He gave me complimentary exam and spent nearly an hour with me! I had emailed my X rays but he took a few more of the molar. His recommendation was that crown is fine and not to re crown it because my root canal in that teeth is incomplete and will require to root canal again prior to crowning which will put that tooth at risk of of damage which may cause me to loose that teeth. Crowning is where dentists make most money so this opinion speaks volumes about his honesty. Thank You Dr. Shah. His front office staff is also very friendly and helpful. Blanka was exceptionally nice.

Besides the hygienist being a bit rough with the tube that sucks that water out, I think she was very helpful! She also tells you what’s happening with your teeth & etc and does her part! I love this place!!! Blanca and Dr. Shah are so nice and I feel so comforted whenever I come here! I have anxiety regarding dental work, so it means a lot to me when they take care of me the way that they do. Every single time I’ve come, Dr. Shah is patient and informative regarding oral care and Blanca has been incredibly helpful with sorting out costs and payments. Additionally, the others who have worked on me, have been so sweet and caring. The staff really knows how to make someone feel safe in a dentists chair! However, their receptionist is unfriendly toward me and has mocked me during our interactions. I’ve remained quiet as I just wanted to get my dental work done, but it’s truly the only part that takes away from my otherwise perfect visits.

I learned about Sunny Family Dental from a close friend who had recently taken their young child to an appointment there. I was in the market to find a dentist for my then two year-old daughter. My friend provided me with a referral coupon and I decided to pursue an appointment.I decided to schedule an appointment for myself first prior to bringing my daughter so I could check things out. I did not want my daughter’s first dental appointment to be one with a provider I had not experienced first.My impressions upon entering the facility for the first time was that the staff was very friendly, accommodating, and the technology utilized was modern, if not advanced. They made me feel very comfortable and welcome. I was given several recommendations for treatment for a couple of discovered concerns however, I appreciate not being pressured into making any on the spot decisions.I notified the staff that I was considering their services for my daughter as well. I was given some recommendations on things to do to help her initial dental visit experience go well, and to ensure that she looked forward to her dentist appointments. I was impressed by their thoughtfulness.Since my daughter’s first visit to their dental office, she has grown accustomed to their environment and looks forward to seeing Dr. Shah. Occasionally she still has some nervousness regarding x-rays or polishing procedures. Took my 1 year daughter here for her first dental visit and the whole staff was amazing. From the lady who answered the phone to Dr Shah who was extremely sweet and friendly to my daughter. I RECOMMEND!!!!!!This week I had come to Sunny Family Dental for the first time! I had chipped my front tooth at the beginning of the week and my previous dental group was trying to take an arm and a leg to fix it, nearly doubling the price they charged me last + claimed nothing would be covered through my insurance, not even the X rays. After leaving them, I found Sunny Family Dental and met Sheila at the front desk. She was clearly busy, running the front desk, handling phone calls, and directing the patients that came in. But she was on top of everything and greeted me very pleasantly. I explained the situation where she immediately recognized how the other location was trying to take advantage of me. She went through every possible option for me here at Sunny Family Dental, checking what my insurance can cover and when I could potentially get it fixed. It was all wonderful information and it allowed me to make my decision clearly. I ended up booking with them the same day.When I came in for the tooth fixing, I got an X-ray from JEANETTE. She was assisting the Doctor. She was so sweet, asking if I needed anything to drink, and creating conversation while she set everything up. She was also very attentive during the tooth fix, using the suction tool, making sure none of the particles made it down past my tongue. When Dr. SHAH came in, he was very likable. He quickly showed his knowledge explaining how the tooth bonding would be added and what hell do to make sure it holds up. He also was cracking jokes which made me feel a lot more at ease (which was good to feel considering this is my FRONT tooth we are fixing, and I was already stressed out.) The Front tooth came out PERFECT. The color was matched and itd be nearly impossible for someone to detect that it was ever chipped. He even took extra time to match the shape of my other front tooth so they looked identical. Amazing Job Doc! But all in all, my tooth was fixed the same day, for the right price! (WAY more affordable than that other location)THEN, as I was planning to leave, Shelia went ahead and planned a cleaning for myself in two days!I had come back for my teeth cleaning, and there I met AMANDA. She was in charge of doing the initial cleaning. She informed me how I was very much overdue for a cleaning and had some concerns. But she went above and beyond explaining everything I could possibly comprehend about the specifics on my teeth and what I’ll need to consider moving forward. Her taking the time to inform me of everything put me more at ease, plus she never tried to use scare tactics to sell me services claiming (you NEED this and that! $$) We continued, & she removed a lot of gross build up from behind my teeth, but was extremely gentle, did not hurt at all! (I’ve been to some cleanings before that we’re very painful!!) Then Doctor Shah came back, gave it all a look over and provided me with some oral hygiene products that will help prevent me getting to that gross build up again!Now my teeth are fixed and cleaned!! Thank You Sheila, Jeanette, Amanda, & Doctor Shah for making me feel apart of the family! Ive been coming here for about 10 years. Despite moving away for college and after being married, I still make the 1.5 hour drive to see Dr. Shah and his team.Theyre always prepared with communicating my insurance coverage with me and corresponding directly with my insurance as needed. Ive had two crowns done, a major extraction, and pending my first implant.Dr. Shah really cares about the dental health of his patients and provides patient education every time- which I appreciate!!Jeanette has been a part of his team since Ive been here- she is so amazing and Im sure all her patients agree. Since day one that I came here was not good first of they worked on my teeth told me what I needed they did a root canal after they did root canal they hand me a paper for me to see if I qualify for the crown to pay out of pocket since medical doesnt cover a crown supposedly . I was not told any of this before they did root canal they did the work first then after work was done .I called medical to let them know I have no tooth 🦷 they did a root canal they said we cover the crown which is the silver tooth I came 3 years ago went back because I called them to let them know medical covered it they rescheduled me again did X-rays again to see what tooth needed to be worked on again they told me they would send a request to get the crown per medical I called to see whats going on never got an authorization never got a call back the big lady in the front that answered the calls starts arguing with me telling me if I didnt like them why would I go back I said because you need to finish what u did she no you said you dont like us so look for someone else I couldnt believe this Im waiting for the state because I did file this with board of dentistry this is wrong this malpractice that I can even end up in a hospital because if this and she just said well you said u dont like us so find someone else we will see when the board gets this and see if you still have the same opinions!!

Im a dental office manager and wish if they could come to my office but its too farway from their resident.The staff were very friendly and kind, they tried their best to schedule her asap.. I just went to Sunny Family Dental in Chino Hills off Pipeline for a cleaning/check up about two weeks ago and was told I had 4 cavities that needed to be filled as soon as possible. So that same day they had filled in those cavities for me which was awesome. I got two things done in one day, the cleaning was super fast and they did a great job. Loved how they showed me what my teeth looked like before and then after the cleaning. After, they filled in my cavities on my right side and they were super gentle and gave me these fake oranges to squeeze while they gave me shots in my gums but I didnt feel much, just a pinch as always. They made sure to keep asking me questions, letting me know step by step what they were doing. Soon after that, the doctor told me I had my top two wisdom teeth coming in and scheduled me an appointment for 2 days later to extract them. It was such an easy procedure, I was not put under, they just numbed my gums to the max. I was still able to drive and go home without any problems. The staff there is amazing, while waiting to be called in they constantly ask if I am thirsty for water, tea or coffee and if I would like some cookies and turn on the tv for me to watch. The doctors are really gentle and patient with you too. They are proficient and professional and I am going to stay with Sunny Family Dental in Chino just because of my positive experience and how comfortable I felt there with everyone.

More than a doctor he make me feel like I am part of his family. Further DisappointmentI wish I could write a great review for this practice, but I cannot. After paying nearly a thousand dollars on top of insurance to have several things fixed on my upper right side of my mouth (I will have to request my documentation legally), I was still in excruciating pain. Because during this process, the doctor had already chipped my right front tooth and then hastily fixed it with an agent that easily stains, AND I had already gone to him at a later regarding the pain after getting the work done (he gave me some Sensodyne and said it was normal), I went to another dentist in desperation and in excruciating pain. What I actually needed was a ROOT CANAL! And since my insurance had already been used up by him, I had to pay out of pocket. After the root canal my pain disappeared. The nerve had been dead for some time and my current dentist said he had no wonder why I was in so much pain.I incurred thousands of dollars seeing first my primary dentist and then an endodontist because Dr. Shah could not figure out I needed a root canal. The worst part was that I spent over a month in terrible, terrible pain.This experience combined with the lateness of the doctor (he would often go to the bank at lunch hour, resulting in tardiness) and his unprofessional, constant criticism of his dental assistants...I would not have chosen to come back here ever again if I hadnt shelled out the pretty penny! I expressly told the doctor that I was exclusively breastfeeding and my son wouldnt eat without me, but he always showed up late to his appointments. He talked down to his assistants while there all of the time in front of patients including myself.His stellar reviews come from offering free cleanings to patients who post good reviews.Update as of 10/24/18: Dr. Shah saw my review and called me. When I explained what had happened, he berated me, saying that there was no way for him to know that I needed a root canal. He said he would give me a partial refund MAYBE and out of the kindness of his heart, though at the same time he was very rude to me on the phone, interrupting me and telling me that he did nothing wrong, that he did not owe me anything, and that he was a good dentist. He said IF I brought the appropriate receipts to his office he MIGHT pay part of my bills I incurred after him.After thinking how much pain I was in for over a month due to his negligence, I decided to call him back. I had already planned to complain to the Dental Board of California and the Better Business Bureau, so I decided to ask for a full refund of my root canal. I told him how much it was, and he told me I was lying, that it could not cost what it did (just over $1,000). He said that was too much money, he would not give me a full refund, and then hung up before I was done talking. At no point did I raise my voice at him, but he again berated me, saying he would have to see the receipts to believe I ever paid that much, and that he didnt owe me anything.Had Dr. Shah simply apologized for missing the root canal, I would not have asked for a refund at all. But, given his rudeness, how he offered he MIGHT pay for something IF I showed him the paperwork, his meanness to his assistants, and my pain, I felt further action was necessary.I submit my complaints tomorrow. I regularly saw him during my many visits talk with meanness to his female assistants. This is not acceptable and very unprofessional, particularly in front of patients, and I felt very, very uncomfortable.Dr. Shah did not provide me with the correct treatment. IN SPITE of his response, I was perfectly willing and able to pay any amount incurred. He simply did not see I needed a root canal. Though he sees my route as one of aggressively attacking, I wish to provide an accurate review. His response below seems unprofessional. I have been coming to Sunny Family Dental w/ Dr. Shah for almost 2 years now - even after I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. I make it a point to travel down to SoCal every 6 months specifically to check in with this dental office because the staff is just that good and the technology is extremely advanced compared to other dentists Ive been to.Example: They use a dental laser for cavity detection that analyzes the density of your teeth to determine if theres tooth decay thats blind to the human eye. The advantage to this early detection laser method is they can use a device to remove tooth decay that does NOT REQUIRE ANY anesthesia. Ive literally had 5+ cavities filled in WITHOUT ANY PAIN AT ALL.Every single other dentist Ive been to before Dr. Shah has always stuck my gums full of needles in order to fix tooth decay that shouldve been detected much earlier. Sunny Family Dental is equipped with modern tools and staff expertise that other dental offices, in my experience, just dont have.COVID: Ive been here twice since theyve implemented COVID guidelines. Loved coming here. Doctor Explained everything. Definitely going to go back and take my kids to get there check up and all dental work. Only downfall for me is they only take PPO or cash. But great Dental office. I loved it .
