TL;DR: damaged guitar, refused refund, had to issue chargeback.11/2/2019: I just got my first guitar back from Stringed Instrument Services and I wont be bringing any more back. I dropped off a 25+ year old Fender Telecaster for a fret level and new nut as the old nut was way too low and the frets were buzzy. This was over two weeks ago and it just came back with black tool marks up and down the maple fretboard, damage to the neck pickup cover, and the nut is almost as low as the one it was supposed to replace. It is glaringly obvious that whoever rushed the fret leveling wasnt paying attention and let the sanding beam sand right over the top corner of my Teles neck pickup cover. This quality of work is completely untenable and I called SIS immediately upon returning home to request a refund and was told by an employee over the phone that they dont do refunds but I could bring the guitar back to make it right. Very neglectful techs who refuse to be held accountable for their shoddy work.Updated response to owner: Jerry Bizon has made some bizarre claims and accusations in his response. Im a senior software engineer who makes more money than I need and have no interest in scamming anyone. I hope that Jerry gets the help he needs and can take accountability for his work instead of responding with wild accusations and shameless self promotion.

I took two of my guitars to Jerry, and he explained in detail the scope of the work on both instruments and gave me a different perspective on what to consider when I’m considering modifying and upgrading my instruments( Pick Ups/ Tremolos, etc.) .Days later my guitars came back to me, all set and ready to roar making me feel confident with the instrument I’m playing . If you are a profesional musician or a guitar lover, as I am, don’t think twice if you need your guitars to be taken care of as Stringed Instrument Services is the place to go not to mention that they are not only the best at what they do but they also are cool people !! 🤘🏼🔥Thanks guys !

Just dropped off my fourth guitar/bass at S.I.S. for a setup and fretwork. Jerry’s knowledge and expertise when it comes to guitars is unparalleled. And he’s the nicest guy. I had a bass setup twice before I found S.I.S. that never felt quite right. After taking it in to Jerry it went from a bass I wanted to sell to one I could never sell. I’m thankful I found this place

The location is inside a small warehouse shared with other stores. Jeremy is nice but really wished it was same day pickup as agreed upon. I’d come back.

This has been my first experience with Stringed Instrument Services. I took a Gibson guitar to them, in which they are an authorized service center for. I took it to them as I suspected an issue that may require warranty service.My profession is in this line of work also so I wasnt sure what to expect.Jerry diagnosed the problem and confirmed what I suspected.He and his staff are very knowledgeable and honest. He seemed to have no problem in doing whatever it takes, that is within his power, to get my issue resolved with the company, For that I am grateful!!!!!!Jerry and his team also have a line of hand built guitars called Luxxtone Guitars that are very much worth taking a look at as well!!!!I will most certainly use their services again if the need arises!!!!!!!

Went it to just get a quote on an acoustic repair and we ended up talking about all sorts of guitars and parts. They’re really friendly and laid back yet professional. I’ll definitely bring any guitars here for their repairs!

I Took My Peavey Bass Brain To S.I.S. After Being Refered To The Shop By Martin, Whom Had Done A Masterful Custom Paint Job On My Cort Artisan B5 Bass. The Shop Is Emmaculate, Professionally Laid Out & Jerry The Owner And His Family Are Some Of The Friendliest People You Could Ever Meet! I Put The Bass Amp Thru Some Paces & Am Totally Satisfied With The Work Done. The Price Charged Was More Than Reasonable. THANK YOU, JERRY!!!

The best guitar shop there is, that guy is a master, if you get work done at this place consider yourself lucky, youll have amongst the best there ever was taking good care of your equipment.
