I am pretty frustrated. I am sure Dr. Kappel is a good dermatologist but as a potential patient, I didnt feel like I mattered much. I am from a different state and booked an appointment to see her approximately 6 months in advance. I took a whole week off of work, bought a plane ticket, paid for a hotel room and a rental car just to told that she would be out of town. They mentioned she could see me the week before or the week after but not the time that I was originally scheduled to come. I had to be back to work during that time and since I am from out of town it isnt easy for me to reschedule. It was also a pain to cancel everything I had booked as well. Not impressed with the customer service of this place.

I had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Kappel for the first time after watching her videos on YouTube. The staff was very pleasant and the office was clean. Dr Kappel was really sweet and calming when performing the procedure. When addressing my other concerns, she totally could have upsold me but explained why certain options were not good for my skin tone and suggested less aggressive (and less expensive) options. I was really appreciative of her honesty and ethical integrity. I would absolutely recommend her!

Love Dr. Kappel! I drive 1.5-2 hrs to see her and it’s well worth the drive. She gives beautiful, naturally looking results that enhance your features and never look overly done. I am always happy with my results when I leave her office. If you’re looking for Botox, filler, or skin care treatments I wouldn’t look anywhere else. Dr. Kappel is amazing at what she does!

I have gotten a couple laser treatments to help with my redness and broken capillaries and they have completely gone away. Stefani did my Botox and lip filler. It was my first time getting lip filler so I was slightly nervous but was pleasantly surprised that it barely even hurt at all! She is very skilled at injections using a technique that is quick while repeating a mantra “ouch ouch ouch” to calm the nerves and to empathize. Overall, I would describe Dr. Kappel as really knowledgeable, understanding, and caring. I would never visit another Doctor for my skincare needs. My lips look natural and flawless and my Botox is just right.

Dr Kappel is something else. She is indistinguishable from any plastic fantastic adult film star. She showed up to the appointment looking like a cross between a pole dancer and 1960s Barbie doll whose nose got smashed in. When you see her face close up, complete with her surgically and way too small nose,, emotionless overly pulled face and the 3 pounds of plastic lashes she wears - let me tell you - her trashy head to toe, and the baby voice was highly disconcerting, and still is disturbing. I made the mistake of getting injections and needless to say I will not be back.

This is regarding Ellacore. .It was promised to tighten the skin like a facelift. I gained trust in Dr. Stephanie Kappell through listening to her talks; however the painful procedure took a lot longer to recover than expected. The red squares were there even after a month. I held on because I wanted tithe great results but the before and after photos prove that there was no change whatsoever. It seems like the doctor didn’t even core our the skin.Well I only had one procedure but I should’ve noticed changes and it was quite expensive. Very disappointed!Lost faith in the doctor and she looks very different than she looks on Instagram. Amazing filters, lots of talk but poor skills.Mary at the front desk is not helpful at all

This review focuses solely on the receptionist at Dr. Kappels office, not on Dr. Kappel herself. While I must emphasize that Dr. Kappel is an amazing, sweet, and knowledgeable professional, I regret to say that my experience with her receptionist, Mary (if I recall her name correctly), was quite unpleasant. The main issues I encountered were related to the appointment process and the receptionists demeanor.Firstly, the office sends out appointment reminders less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, which doesnt provide sufficient time for adequate preparation or rescheduling. Additionally, canceling appointments via email is not allowed.Moreover, when I called the office after 4 PM, I was informed that their phones were already turned off, and it appeared that they didnt check voicemails until the following morning.Furthermore, I initially made an appointment in November but had to cancel it due to relocating over 500 miles away. Instead of understanding the circumstances, the receptionist engaged in a heated exchange with me, going back and forth arguing. She eventually agreed to cancel the appointment but abruptly declared that “I would no longer be allowed to be seen in the office.” This response was both unreasonably harsh and unprofessional.I want to reiterate that my negative experience pertains solely to the receptionist, and I hold Dr. Kappel in high regard. Nonetheless, it is disheartening to encounter such rudeness and unprofessionalism from a member of the office staff.

Had my first visit with Dr. Kappel and elected for a few different treatments same day. I could not be happier with my results. Dr. Kappel is amazing and corrected an eye problem that I thought would take surgical intervention, but she accomplished with filler and Botox with amazing results. I went into see Dr. Kappel last week for the first time. I am now a forever patient. She is not only beautiful on the outside...shes beautiful on the inside. She is warm, caring and so informative. Dr. Kappel definitely knows everything about the anatomy and her placement with fillers is amazing! I always bruise with lip filler. Dr. Kappel has excellent placement and a gentle touch. Really liked how I was asked what I’m looking to get out of it and from there, gave me a list of do’s and don’ts. Injections didn’t hurt in the slightest.Did a small evaluation of my daily skincare routine and what I could add or remove, if any. I also appreciated that Dr. Kappel was very self aware. She didn’t present herself as, or claim to be, a one stop shop or fix-all solution. If there was something she wasn’t able to do she said she knew someone who could.Probably the best experience I’ve had with any medical doctor. The experience I had with Dr. Kappel was beyond my expectations. I had under eye treatment and the experience was painless. After going to her I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my under eye area. I was unhappy with the bags and dark circles under my eyes as well as deep nasolabial folds and hoped a filler injections would improve my tired appearance. I made a consultation appointment, which although I had to wait sometime to get in made me feel Dr. Kappel must be good and worth waiting for if her schedule is booked out for months in advance. Went to my appointment, the office was easy to find and parking was simple. The office was clean and calm. Dr. Kappel was informative and although she could have done what I hoped would work she gave me an honest opinion and referral to someone for a procedure that would better meet my under eye goals. Initially I hesitated about getting filler fit the golds bc if my eyes look tired, would it really make a difference? I did choose filler for the nasolanial folds and it made for much improvement. The procedure was quick and easy. Didn’t feel good but a few quick injections and my smile went back in time to a younger version of me. I have been on the fence regarding this procedure now I think I definitely should have done it sooner and will do it again with Dr. Kappel and her staff.

She is an amazing educated professional with a beyond superb bedside manner and also makes you feel comfortable and confidant that you are being treated by the best - with the best (lasers, producers, etc.)I found Dr kappel over a year ago when she was working in Long Beach. I did extensive research - poured over reviews and background - as I was very nervous to see somebody again to get injections because I had previously - IN THE PAST AND NOT BY DR KAPPEL - bad experiences with people that were doing injections that weren’t as capable as they should be. The only thing that threw me (shame on me) is that she looked far too young to provide the kind of expertise and experience I was looking for. Well I researched where she graduated from where she did her residency and I guessed that she must practice what she preaches and I was right!! Not only is she beautiful and incredibly youthful on the outside, but she has a genuine positivity that radiates in the love for what she does and the way she does it and the way she treats her me / her patients. Even some tulle of painful procedure goes by super fast and seamless.I’m super happy with her, my only concern is that she is going to be two months booked out or more because she is so darn good. But - she deserves all the success in the world.

Anyone who follows Dr. Kappel on social media will be pleased to know she is as professional and knowledgeable about cosmetic dermatology, specifically lasers, as she puts out in the social media universe. She is very welcoming with her vibrant personality. I arrived with knowing I wanted a laser treatment to treat my broken blood vessels on my face. I am a 58 year old female, who has relatively good skin, but nonetheless, it’s aged skin that has only had Botox and fillers 3 times and the last time being 2012 before a European cruise. I arrived an hour early for facial numbing and then Dr. Kappel looked at my skin and suggested I do two different lasers. One being VBeam for the broken blood vessels and the other Fraxel to treat my face and neck. She left it up to me to decide what I wanted. I could do as much or as little as I wanted. I had originally scheduled my appointment for July, that was her first available and was put on a cancellation list. Within a day, I was contacted for a cancellation, which I happily took. I traveled down to Newport Beach (Corona Del Mar) from Santa Clarita, which was about an 1.5 hour drive. Because I was coming so far, I decided to do both laser treatments. Dr. Kappel is careful to make sure the patient is comfortable during the procedure. My face was numb, and she started with the VBeam first. The way this laser felt to me was a stinging sensation as the laser pulsed with cool air being blown at the same time thru the hand piece. It’s very tolerable! The subsequent Fraxel laser felt very hot as the hand piece rolls over your skin, also blowing cool air at the same time. Again, it’s very tolerable. Dr. Kappel did make me aware that to see results can take anywhere from 1-3 treatments, since she doesn’t know exactly how one’s skin will react to the laser. She put Alastain skin nectar on my face and neck and covered me with sunscreen since I was going to be sitting in the car on the drive home in the sun. My skin felt a slight burning sensation for a few hours following the treatment. Before bed I washed my face gently using ZOskin cleanser and only put the Alastain skin nectar on my face and neck. I made sure to drink water throughout the day and went to bed. I woke up with some swelling under my eyes and some facial and neck redness, but no pain. I put some eye cream I had cooling in the fridge on my undereye tissue. Dr. Kappel said I may have swelling and redness for 5-7 days. Just looking at my skin this morning It looks more even in skin tone and the broken blood vessels appear to be resolved, except for one that I think was missed near my corner of the eye, and the 2 areas where I had some keratosis issues seem to be smoother. I had a great experience with Dr. Lina Kennedy! This is definitely a success story, I came in for V Beam on spider angioma’s on my face and she noticed two on my lips specifically.After reviewing my family history and my tendency for nosebleeds, she printed out an information sheet. She advised that I likely had HHT and I advised I get checked by my primary physician to confirm.While I haven’t gone through testing yet, my family history and symptoms match. My recurring nosebleeds had been something I’d been trying to figure out for 10+ years with many doctors. It was great to have a medical professional take me seriously instead of advising me that it was just seasonal allergies.I’ll definitely be coming back for cosmetic purposes and I appreciate Dr. Kennedy’s professionalism and medical knowledge. Dr. Kappel is amazing! I have melasma from years spent at the beach and the hormones from having three children only darkened them. I am half Japanese and worried about what laser would treat these spots best. I went to see Dr. Kappel and she put together the best skin care plan, specifically designed for my skin type and issues. She did pico laser to attack those dark concentrated spots and clear and brilliant for overall. I am so happy with the results! For anyone that is unsure of what lasers they should have done, she is extremely knowledgeable and will get your face looking years younger.

Came here yesterday to see Dr. Lina Kennedy. I had originally wanted to book an an appointment with Dr. Kappel but she was booked until September… Dr. Kennedy had a cancellation so I was able to book an appointment two days later. I needed to have a small broken capillary on my face zapped with a laser- and I specifically wanted the Vbeam (after much research)- which they had here. Many offices use lasers but not the Vbeam in specific for my condition. I also wanted a dermatologist to perform the treatment and not an RN to be extra careful since lasers need to be handled with extreme care and someone with years of experience.I was a bit hesitant since I wanted Dr. Kappel but trusted that Dr. Kennedy would be able to handle the job just as well (being that they worked together). The location is great - and the receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. I have to be completely honest though, I didn’t have the friendliest encounter with the nurse or Dr. Kennedy… being that I’ve never had any type of lasers or anything more than facials done on my face I was a bit nervous about the process… I asked numerous questions and received straightforward answers. I was expecting the same passion and excitement that I’d seen by Dr. Kappel in her incredible videos on skin health and lasers (maybe this was my mistake expecting the same from Dr. Kennedy?)… I was asked to sign a waiver before the laser and the nurse seemed annoyed I was asking many questions and wanted to read it thoroughly before signing. At one point she tried to show me where to sign on the iPad, but I was clearly still reading the waiver agreement before signing? This made me feel very rushed and was actually quite rude. I paid a quite higher fee for this service (being in Newport Beach and visiting a highly popular office for Dr. Kappel who makes fantastic YouTube videos)… I expected more.As I said, the receptionist was absolutely fantastic and is probably the only reason I would come back here (I can’t recall her name)… the service itself went fine, I am experiencing some bruising from the Vbeam and called the receptionist to confirm this is normal and she assured me it was expected. I didn’t receive much after care instructions from Kennedy and as I said, I was the one asking all of the questions.For double the cost at this location for the same service at nearby offices, I expected better. I expected more education, passion, instruction and friendliness. For a first time patients, initial impressions are everything. I know and understand this well as a business owner. Perhaps it was because I was having a quicker/cheaper service that I didn’t receive as much attention? Hopefully that’s not the case because that’s just terrible business…make a good impression and patients will return. Perhaps they can change my mind in the future if I have to return for a second session or additional service. A bit bummed but this overall because I expected better. Just hoping my results are what I wanted. Still healing. Will update.

I have always been afraid to do anything to my face, but have been bothered by a few things for a while now so I bit the bullet and went to see Dr. Kappel yesterday because I have been a huge fan of her work. We agreed to just ease into things with a little Botox and let’s just say I left wishing I had done more because she was so gentle and it was no big deal! Ive never had any injectables done but was interested in trying lip filler so after reading all the positive reviews I decided to take a two hour trip from San Diego for a consultation. Once I arrived I had to wait 40 mins in the waiting room just to be seen and hoped that it would be worth the extra wait but she was very disappointing. The consult was 15 mins and she spoke very highly about herself and that she graduated from UCLA yet never once bothered to pick up the mirror to show me how we could achieve my desired look. She gave me the names of 3 different filler options but didnt bother to explain the difference other than one lasts a little longer than the others. I asked her specifically how we could create greater symmetry to my lips but she didnt seem to know and had to ask me where. I asked her if 1/2 a syringe would be sufficient to achieve the desired look I wanted based off a photo I brought and she didnt know that either. Lol a real waste of time
