This was a last minute choice we made when our plans changed for a rainy Saturday. We decided to book the food and wine pairing. It is was such an incredible opportunity that we just so happened to get tickets from a cancellation! The views of the vineyards on hills is unbeatable! The outdoor seating area would be perfect for a lounging afternoon.The views are stunning! For the tasting, you get about 5 courses paired perfectly with each wine. The chef rotates the menu every two weeks making every experience unique. Local wine guides told us they go there many times because it’s so good. They also have wonderful an award as best restaurant, but Sonoma says it’s not technically a restaurant. That’s how freaking good this place is. Every single person working at St. Francis was energized and excited to be there. They also were so excited for us to do the wine pairing! The best part is you are with a smaller group for the pairing meal and over 6 people are serving you. We talked to the chef afterwards!

We four participated in/rode on the wine trolley. A very different kind of tasting experience. Fun and engaging to meet others. Note: pedaling is optional.Old Vines Zinfandel is a standout and a family favorite for many years.Not pretentious at all.

Wine and food pairing experience 5 course meal included wines with it. They gave us some extra wine for tasting as well. Food was pretty good. Presentation was amazing. If you don’t like certain things you may not like some dishes but overall the food sensory experience was amazing. The wines were ok. The heavier reds were better than the appetizer wines. Enjoyed the experience and the presenters were great. I personally loved the Turnip soup and fall flavors they included. Beautiful ambience. And we saw a rainbow

Such a great experience to have during our honeymoon. The wine was so complex and ever so juicy. My husband and I had an amazing time and the view was to die for. We had the most amazing Estate Pairing experience yesterday at St. Francis. The food, the wine, the service was all exceptional and not necessary in that order. Maria greeted us most warmly and made us feel comfortable. Then we had a generous splash of Sauvignon blanc poured by the friendly and professional Sharon in the tasting room. A few minutes later we walked down to the outdoor seating where our table was ready for us exactly where we preferred: at the edge of the area so our view of the beautiful scenery was undisturbed (see first picture). Kevin, our host with the infectious laugh was cordial, answered all our questions and introduced the wines and the foods paired with them enticingly. I appreciated that the chef accommodated my no pork preference, while the others in my party got the unmodified version. E.g. you can see in the second picture my polenta-mushroom-pesto-butternut squash item in the front and the other two (with bacon), family style, in the background. I am sharing the printed menu and picture of most items. Arent they all beautiful? (And they were delicious too). After our wine/meal we lingered in the gardens rocking chairs for an hour as we were blessed with sunny weather. All-in-all it was a fantastic day, thanks to the people, the excellent and potent wines and the yummy food that went along with them.

Haley was an amazing wine educator. We really enjoyed our time learning from her. The estate pairing was wonderful. We loved the polenta cake dish. The chef definitely knows what theyre doing. The wines could have paired a little bit better but all of the flavors were so good. We will be back for the full wine & food pairing someday!

The scenery is absolutely stunning, with sprawling vineyards and majestic mountains in the background—nothing like what we have on the East Coast. I fell in love with their 2021 Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast; it’s a must-try!

This was a great Winery visit! Started with the free vineyard tour - took about 30 minutes and got to see the grapes on the vine and taste them! Self-guided so you had to read the description at each of the 11 stationsThen the incredible pairing. Each course was masterfully prepared. Even if you don’t like wine, this is a great experience. There were about 20 people in the tasting and each course was fantastic! I’m actually not much of a wine drinker but the experience is exceptional. See photos of the menu and each course. I can’t recommend highly enough!! We also met some great people who will hopefully be friends.

Ive been going to Saint Francis regularly; luckily I live nearby. I love having the tasting experience with Maria, shes so much fun and very knowledgeable.Recently we had a vegan/vegetarian food and wine pairing event, with farm to table concept. We had a wonderful time, we cant wait to do it again! The food was delicious, so were the wines. We had the privilege of meeting the farmer, James. Our host, Jared was very attentive and was able to answer all of our questions.The property is breathtakingly beautiful, dont forget to take a stroll before or after your tasting!

We walked in on a Tuesday and were able to get a table outside for a tasting. Stunning scenery, relaxing downtempo music, and all the wines were great (we like bold reds). Christina was very attentive and knowledgeable. She provided just the right amount of history and information, and also brought us some off-menu wines that she thought we would like. After we bought a bottle (of the 2018 dry creek zinfandel), we wandered around the grounds. Perfect way to spend a few hours.

After eating at a lot of amazing restaurants on our last vacation, the food we talk about the most is from the estate wine and food pairing at St. Francis. We had curried cauliflower, chicken polpette, brisket, and a very rich chocolate dessert, and everything was amazing and perfectly paired with the wine. Sandra provided great service for our tasting experience, but our experience with the rest of the staff wasn’t the best. After ordering a glass of our favorite pour, we were rushed out right at 5 pm, which didn’t give us much of a chance to enjoy it. Still, it was an experience to remember and a highlight of our trip. We’ll just make an earlier reservation if we come again.

Very poor service as compared to most wineries in the area and this is coming from a member. I would pick a different one to visit.Edited after Ryan’s response: While it was gracious of them to point me to the Estate Pairing, they told me I could NOT bring my daughter to the pairing and definitely never brought up the 50% off part. This is exactly the service I am referring to, on paper it may sound like they did everything to accommodate me, but in reality it was a cold take it or leave it phone call that made me and my family seem small and unvalued. And did I mention being a member? Never returning again and most definitely recommend other family friendly wineries in Sonoma. And btw I spoke to someone named Su?

Hi just dropping in after having to run out due to an allergy that was openly communicated and not agreed to. Me and my newly engaged as of last night fiancé reserved an estate tasting and noted a cilantro allergy in the reservation. We then informed our waiter on arrival of our cilantro allergy as we sat down. Even with this thorough providing of information the first dish with the pairing was fried green tomatoes lathered with a generous helping of a poblano yogurt with copious amounts of cilantro in it….. we had to leave the vineyard immediately to get back to our Airbnb to deal with the repercussions of a severe allergic GI reaction for the rest of the evening ruining our romantic dinner plans… needless to say we are not impressed. We gave every warning and I am deeply disappointed that a dish with an allergy was delivered to us even though we were very direct in stating the concern. We would have loved to enjoy the wine and the afternoon there but at this point I don’t know if we’ll ever go back given the lack of attention to allergies in this kitchen.

I now know why this is called the best restaurant in the U.S. that is not a restaurant. The Chefs 5 course tasting menu paired with their premium Estate wines is wonderful. To make sure you get in, you must book in advance. It is well worth it plus their wines sourced from vineyards all over Sonoma are excellent. My favourite was their Zinfandel from Dry Creek AVA at the north end of Sonoma.

My only reason that I cant give a 5 star is because of the St Francis policy of not allowing us to tweet our pick up after have arrived and come in for our tasting. Grounds were BEAUTIFUL! Definitely recommend walking the vineyard tour. Unfortunately, when we went they said they werent selling wines by the bottle or the glass, even though their website indicates that you can and when I called to confirm the walking vineyard tour they also said that you can, not sure if there was some miscommunication here or if they had an extenuating circumstance the day we happened to go. This was the first vineyard we stopped at so that definitely dampened the mood. Just beware that it is possible for you to get there and for them to not serve wine (at a winery)

We love coming here. Great wine, amazing food in the food and wine pairing, and in the estate pairings. Chef Peter and Marina the pastry chef, are wonderful and extremely talented. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Tony is very knowledgable and always provides great service. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a classy atmosphere, beautiful views, great food, and great wine. We have been to many other food and wine pairings in Napa and surrounding areas, but none come close to St.Francis.

Omg! Amazing wine! Our server was very knowledgeable about the wines, their bouquets, the location of where each wine was grown and how the terrior affected the wines and the lodi goes on and on. Also, we were there on my birthday, which I included in the reservation as a “special occasion,” but which our host failed to see on the ticket until we were checked out and walking out the door, to which he coolly added “happy birthday, by the way.” The wines were very tasty, though.

Great reds and whites. My favorite??? Old Vine Zin! Try the cheese pairing. Fun events for locals such as Movie Night, Concerts on the Lawn, Blessing of the Animals. The building, with is early California design, fits in nicely in the Sonoma Valley, unlike the ego based winery down the street. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Beautiful views of the Mayacama Mountains reminds me of the Hawaiian Islands. If you are local or from out of town, this winery is a must visit.

The wine tasting was great. Loved being outside in the member parlor before the rains came. Our server, Sharon, however left lots to be desired. A number of her comments were inappropriate, including telling us that she did not like one of the vintages that was in the member order that we were picking up. And when it came time to pay for our order, she made a comment to the effect that we received four free member tastings that were valued at $150. We felt that she said that to make sure that we tipped her appropriately. We are not stupid people and we know what we were getting and did not need such a reminder. Overall everyone in our party did not appreciate her service.

I recently revisited the winery about two weeks ago and decided to sign up for their wine membership. The vineyard grounds were lovely, but I didn’t get a chance to fully appreciate it as I joined St Francis for a food and wine pairing - which I was looking forward to. After confirming weeks in advance that they would be able to switch the beef course with a suitable replacement, I was served cauliflower. How is that a reasonable replacement for someone who eats fish and other red meats? The dish really spoiled my experience as it paired awfully with the wine. I would highly advise against asking for substitutions without asking for what will really be served. The portions were also on the petite side. What I was also not made aware of is that the setting would be an uncomfortable u-shaped setup that reminds me of awful work conferences where everyone is forced to speak quietly and cannot really enjoy the experience. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.
