Big shout out to the staff at St. Francis Medical Center...my wife had our son at this hospital and I was so impressed with the service and professionalism. Shout out to Kimberly Allison who was such a sweetheart and catering to our needs...also to Sun our korean nurse that really supported my wife through the labor process. When my son was immediately born the NICU team came to check if my son was ok. They immediately detected that the SPO2 level was too low and suspected something was going on with the heart. The nurse practitioner and the NICU staff did everything they can to find what was going on immediately. They immediately directed my son to CHOC hospital in Orange where they have top cardiologists to assist with my sons issue. My son was taken cared of at CHOC and I was so happy. I appreciate the swift response and all the attention and care of the nurses at St. Francis. I want to give you guys all a big hug. Thank you for everything you do!!

The Nurses who took care of my aunt in the ICU were amazing!!! Very knowledgeable, and compassionate and we felt they really cared. There were many who cared for her, but Chris stood out. He always kept us up to date and was very kind and patient, which we really appreciated when dealing with this very difficult situation.

My sister had her twins at St Francis. Her twins were admitted to NICU due to them being born premature. Upon their discharge, she had ride difficulties because her husband was at work . She told nurse to give her until 6 pm . NICU nurse called at 5:45pm threatening her that she was going to call CPS if she didn’t get there to pick her kids up. My sister was not refusing to pick up her kids and she was being very communicative with the staff during their entire stay at NICU. I am a social worker and this is awful behavior from a mandated reporter such as this nurse . I would never want to deliver at a place where nurses are threatening patients .

I arrived at the emergency room with a serious stomach pain. I was seen by a doctor really fast, was done an ultrasound and within a few hours I was in the surgery room to treat my illness. I was well taken care of after the surgery, the nursing staff very nice and professional. They were very attentive and my needs well taken care of. I highly recommend this hospital. It has always been my primary option.

I was admitted for acute pancreatitis for 3 days (just discharged today) and the nurses were all so kind and patient with me and my needs as well as my attending physician. My only complaint was net feeling like I was being listened to when the IV fluids was overwhelming my system. However they eventually did manage and now Im completing the rest of my recovery at home. Overall I think this center is amazing

Had an ER visit here. Took a very long time to get seen, felt my concerns weren’t being addressed right away. The staff works tirelessly and endlessly, that is known by all the patients.I have a hard time understanding why I didn’t receive a proper diagnosis and was sent home without the proper medications for my illness. Went to a different hospital for the same worsened issues that weren’t taken care of or diagnosed by St. Francis staff. I ended up having a severe colon infection that St. Francis completely missed. Some of the nurses staff and doctors talk really bad to patients and even had the audacity to blame my sickness on drug use that I do not do. No empathy or sympathy at this hospital’s ER. May never be able to find out what is wrong with you, or give you the proper medications. Please find a different ER .Update:Ended up coming back here for my continued infection. I was transported via Ambulance. Despite that, it took many hours to get care for myself. I thought I was going to die at the hospital due to the long wait time of not being assisted by medical staff. I truly feared for my life at this hospital. Really disappointed. I hope you all begin to serve the ER patients better. I was diagnosed with IBS at a different hospital facility. I left St. Francis due to the improper care I received and blessed the other hospital staff was readily available to assist me.

The Doctors are very professional. The nurses are very helpful. The CNAs also go out of there way to make you feel comfortable. The rooms are very clean. The transporters, phlebotomist, technicians, and everyone make you feel as comfortable as they can. Housekeeping went out of their way to clean up are room. Jose Perez from housekeeping as busy as he was. Went out of his way to get me a recliner. Without his help it would have been very difficult for me to stay overnight. I stayed 13 days. With my brother. Thank you Jose Perez.Overall everyone deserves a trophy. Thank you

I came to visit my uncle while he was at St. Francis. Staff was very nice and helpful. I got on some elevators and saw this on 3 different elevators but took only the 2 pics. The permits to operate the elevators have been expired for months. How is this even allowed?

My experience was great the doctors and nurses were very kind and caring to tell you I dont see that in too many hospitals not even close you have a very good hospital a clean hospital and a caring hospital I enjoyed my stay everybody was really good and nice to me you have really nice nurses all they took care of me they were the best hopefully I dont have to come back again but if I do I will I will love looking forward to seeing and being at your facility thank you so much Yvonne

I have been to the ER several times. Each time is worse. I am disabled, unable to walk. On the last visit, I arrived by ambulance and was put in the back to wait with the walk-ins and told I would wait several hours. After xrays and an initial Dr visit I was put in the back to again wait several hours for the xray results. Finally the Dr returned and I was told to wait for discharge papers..When I queried as to my ambulance ride home several hours later the nurse hadnt even called yet griping about her patient load and it would be 4 or 5 more hours before her secretary would even call. I asked to be discharged so I could leave. Eventually I got the paperwork and left. It was over 6 hours for this trip, just in the ER. CAzy bad!!

Im sure it is not the worst hospital in the world, but that is a low bar. Just getting through the door feels a lot more like visiting a prison than a hospital. Even the bag check was reminiscent of a prison. The bag didnt set off the metal detector, so not really sure what he was even looking for???The unbelievably worthless security guard at the entrance was just ignoring us as we walked in. After standing in front of him for 30 seconds without being acknowledged, we just walked through the metal detector. After getting well past that point, he finally looks up from his phone and yells at us with some unintelligible comment. We then spend another few minutes trying to explain where we are going. After a few minutes of doing nothing, he calls someone on the phone and informed us only one person can enter the hospital. I understand there is a limit on the number of people allowed into the room at one time, but to not allow a person into the lobby is beyond absurd.Also, parking is available for the low price of $7/hour, roughly on par with what you pay to park in Hollywood on a Saturday night.If I ever have a medical emergency and my choice is to come here or just die on the sidewalk, Im picking the sidewalk.

I had a relative stay in this hospital for over 2 months and throughout her stay at this hospital the hospitality of certain nurses and nurse assistants have been terrible and rude. There has been nurses who left her in her urine for hours their communication is terrible from the nurses and also doctors. I had to be really persistent with them to even be able to communicate with them to know how my relative was doing. I would go see her every single day to make sure they were attending her well and to make sure that they wouldn’t keep leaving her in her urine for hours. I personally would clean her and help her use the restroom cause of course the nurses wouldn’t bother to clean her well. I would not recommend having your family member in this hospital especially because their translation is terrible. My relative only knows Spanish and I advocated for her and translate for her because the way they would communicate with her was not the best.

PARENTS: take your kids to LA General, they have their own kids ER. This “ER” is beyond words. My autistic 8 y/o had so much leg pain and we arrived via ambulance with no choice as to where they were taking us. They have no compassion here. They do not care. We were there 15 HOURS just waiting around.The “main” people, like doctors & nurses are heartless and don’t care about treating. The only pleasant experience we had was with the Xray tech & the Ct scan staff. Even the useless security guard at the entrance is awful. My son was so hungry and he wouldn’t let me take in my Uber eats. He told me I had to LEAVE if I wanted to eat. Also, the 2 guys who check people in are also incredibly rude. The way they talk to people is so heartbreaking and maddening. There was an elderly couple who had been there 8 hours and they were hungry, asked the guy if there was anything they could buy and he ignored them. ZERO COMPASSION.We will NEVER be returning here now that we know how bad they are. I saw so many people crying in pain and nobody cared or did anything while these nurses were chatting it up in the halls.

Was a fast experience except for the initial wait to get called for my blood work. I had to alert the admitting staff that I was still waiting after 25 min. Once I alerted them the lab tech came out within 5 min and took me to the draw station.

After being rush to the ER by my husband we were immediately greeted at the curb side and taking care of, my ER nurses Alex and Angle handled me with such care. After suffering a stroke I was very scared and anxious, they both did everything in their power to comfort me and provide me with the best service possible. Im so grateful for them both and I will never forget these two wonderful men that God sent to help me in such a difficult time. Not a biased review. Left my family Member with blood clots in her legs for 3 days before informing anyone in my family. Please do not bring any loved ones here, the nurse hospitality is horrible and neglecting. Very unprofessional and disgusting attitudes/manners from the nurses. One nurse even attempted to steal $20 from her side until she called them out. This hospital is far from a hospital. It is torture please take your loved ones to a much better hospital never come here!

Hello’there my name is Sharron I took my elderly Mom in to saint francis hospital through emergency on 1-25-24 and when I say the service was great through an through every department we had encountered there were smiles on the staff faces everyone was very nice and helpful very attentive to many as I was watching each an everyone of them with caring in there heart’s for helping people feel better. Which left a smile on my heart to see there are nurses that really care of the well being of ill patient. I must state there was a nurse in E.R. By the name of Angel which he was my Mom nurse while we were down on E.R. Bed 15 Angel was so kind an patient caring understanding. I seen Angel assisting many patient with love and care the he personally touched my heart just seeing him with an act of kindness,very helpful, smiling with gladness,etc he keep come to check on my Mom which has Alzheimer’s and dementia he was very sensitive to her needs of patients with her moving all around fidgety messing with the wires that were attached to her making the monitor alert over an over it never change or moved him. He stay in communication with me about they were getting her room together for her admission and once her room had came available. Angel assisted us up to her room which was 6209 Angel made us feel so welcome even in our circumstances. I was so honored to complete the daisy award for Mr. Angel he is a valuable employee. Thanks Angel for all your great expertise and service🥰

If I could give negative stars I would. The security staff is completely unprofessional, unreasonable and flat out bad bad bad. They make family members and loved ones wait outside in the freezing cold after fake hours that they make up and are not posted anywhere. There is available seating inside and they say it is closed because “they said so”. I have the advanced directives and security would not allow me access to my dying relative. The head nurse Judy had to tell security to allow me up. The nurses in ICU have problems with the security staff. If the hospital cared enough they would care about who they hire as their security company.Further, the facility does not have the up to date equipment for dialysis. Their machine is antiquated.St. Francis Medical Center as a whole should be ashamed of itself.According to their security staff the head person of the hospital had given this directive. In speaking with nurses this was a bold face lie.If you love your loved ones, do not come here.

My experience was good with the nurses at the ER. However, when I got admitted upstairs Gloria Quioan (a nurse), made my experience the worst. I went in for extremely low hemoglobin and the first thing she tells me is that I need to lose weight. She then Changes my care of plan that I was originally told I would have, ultrasound and another transfusion. When I spoke up about the plan they had for me at first she said that I had to see a hematologist first until tomorrow and he will decide. I told her that since they won’t be doing the transfusion I wanted to go to another hospital. She went off! She kept saying that if I didn’t want to get admitted I should’ve told them . Keep in mind, she was raising her voice and the male nurse next to her looked shocked. She called the on call doctor and from outside of the room I could hear her yelling in the phone “nope doctore she’s very unhappy here”, but failed to mention why I suddenly got unhappy. Her treatment was horrible ! . my husband, a very calm man, tried explaining my condition and she completely ignored him. The story is much longer but I will be filing a complaint Name GLORIA QUINON

Francis I was released a little less then 24 hrs ago I want to start by mentioning how the ambulance crew treated me was very uncomfortable and unprofessional as well as humiliating now as far as the er staff you guys should really conduct yourselves more professionally and actually keep patients info confidential. I had 2 nurses poke me wrong and wiggle the needle around that is considered Mal practice and not to mention how embarrassed and humiliating you guys made me feel because I was in my birthday suit. This is a horrible, horrible hospital. I came to this hospital and for three days they were not able to diagnose me properly. They said I had a blood clot when I really did not have a blood clot in my lungs. They scared me and they did not know what was wrong with me.The doctor took me out of the ER and whisper to me. 2nd surgery on right arm. After 1st corrective surgery it was found to have a wayward piece of bone floating off all by itself. Therefor 2nd surgery was needed to correct that problem that was left, either as a result of accident or was missed from 1st surgery. Either way, a 2nd surgery was indicated to correct that.Overall it was memorable.Staff was enjoyable & pleasant.

I was pleasantly surprised with the care and quickness of service we received at St. Francis. We went to ER and was seen within 15 minutes of checking in. My son was admitted shortly after. He ended up staying for a few days. He was made comfortable with his pain and ran every possible tests to ensure the right diagnosis. I appreciate the kindness and patience the nurses provided. I will definitely make St. Francis my first option for emergency/urgent care.

I have no idea what department people are giving 5 star to, but labor and delivery department is definitely not it. The fact that I was there for over two hours and didnt even get my vitals check or even talked to a nurse. But I love how they were fast to get my medical insurance information. I left from there without treatment and ended up going to somewhere else where I was actually rushed in and seen. This was the worst possible experience in a hospital. Never again! And I will encourage everyone to go anywhere else but here.

I checked in on Christmas Eve 2023 around 6 pm with a strong pain in my stomach. The whole evaluation, check in and bloodwork was super quick and within 1 hr I was having a morphine shot, CT scan and ultrasound. All staff, starting with tbe security guard at tbe ER entrance and especially Nurse Philip in th ER area was so diligent and empathetic in getting patients taken care of ASAP even though the hospital was super short staffed that evening. By 10p I was informed I’d be staying the night to prepare me to have my appendix removed Cristmas morning.Surgery with Dr. Smart went great and the floor nurses in charge made sure I was always pain free and warm🥶Oh… My room was cleaned everyday too😊

I went in on 10/27 at 8pm at night. I received excellent care. I was shocked, because my previous visits the staff is usually rude and doctors could care less don’t want to go the extra mile with additional care. Just give you a diagnosis by looking at you. I immediately noticed the difference every staff member I encountered was caring and nice they even went above and beyond with additional testing that I would have had to have seen a specialist for. While waiting for my results it was freezing cold. The staff provided blankets and snacks will I waited. Please keep these staff members on heavy rotation. They made the difference with the change that has occurred here.

Had been admitted to this hospital 3x already for surgery. And all I can say is positive, from the security guards, admitting department, nurses and doctors. They are all kind, professional and has a positive attitude towards patient. You won’t get intimidated asking them questions. Special mention to the Ms. Rosalie and Ms. Rhea (the best nurses ever). And of course to my Doctor, Dr. Alemi Farzad, the best surgeon.

The emergency room security personnel is currently lacking in customer service skills. There are three officers stationed at the entrance. One officer is seated in a wheelchair, sporting a pair of casual crocs. The other two officers have their hands casually tucked into their pockets. Upon attempting to gain access to the emergency department, you are met with a rather curt inquiry of What do you want? It seems that the patient or customers presence is seen as an interruption to their ongoing laptop video viewing.

My wife had a baby at the hospital it was a horrible experience. The doctors and nurseses seemed not to care, it would take a a day to see a doctor. I wish they improve the upper managmen system, provide a better training for the staff. I encourage you to look for another hospital.

SFMC is my number 1 hospital to take care of my Healthcare. Previous/last visit on 12/05/23 was overall great. MRI department had everything ready for me prior to my apt. Gary ER nurse came assists with IV for contrast. Very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, great sense of humor an how not to mention his very own way to be positive. Thank you, MRI department for taking care of my MRI.

The medical staff took care of me. My surgeon was phenomenal. Forever grateful. However, since I was in the trauma unit and needed emergency care and surgery from an out-of-network hospital, I am in a circle jerk of trying to get my disability backpay. Trying to blame it on me for not making a follow-up appt. Hello ! I was bedridden, medicated, sedated and couldn’t walk. How was this supposed to be possible ? And my medical provider transferred me days later. Six months into this runaround. Unacceptable.

The nurses and surgeons were INCREDIBLE!!! Patient, friendly, answered all my questions, and were very positive. The anesthesiologist, Brian, was excellent, and my surgeon (can’t remember his name) was wonderful! The nurses were great and made me smile and laugh. If you need to have a surgery done here you will be well taken care of.

I came on early evening Thursday 9/14/23. Even though I lasted like 7-8 hours in the er nauseous and throwing up blood the staff was very nice and kind. I ended up staying at the hospital for 48 hours for observation and the nurses who cared for me like Juliet, chantia, Gabriela and I forgot the nurse who assisted Gabriela were very nice. James the nurse practitioner was also kind too. The nun who draw my blood was sweet and also the Asian nun who visited me was very kind and said she was going to pray for my recovery. Chantia (the last nurse who cared for me) talked to me and before I checked out she gave me a hug. She was so sweet. They were all sweet.

I went in for pre screening blood test for my upcoming surgery. I was very nervous going because of reviews I have read and I am not familiar with the area or the hospital. Everyone I came across security guard, admitting even the parking attendant was very nice and helpful. Now Alexsis the nurse that did my bloodwork and gave me my surgery instructions. She was so friendly, kind and put me at ease for any worrying I had. We also had a little friendly chat and was very comforting. She didnt rush me out. I am hoping for a good day on my upcoming surgery.I went in for my surgery which I was nervous from reviews I read. From the moment I got there, everyone was friendly. When I got called in to prep, the nurses were all nice. My Dr. Was a little behind, but when it was time. My Dr and team came and spoke with me, took me to the surgery room, then woke up in my room. From the security, admitting, Dr Elbert Chang, Nurses... Nadine, Sergio, Amber and all the nurses Assistants and any names I didnt name, thank you for all your care, compassion, understanding, and patience. I was having a hard time and very emotional. They calmed me comforted me and reassured me. This was everyone on the 8th floor. Nadine though was one of the best. She was on top of it, her and my Dr were messaging each other giving updates on me. I didnt want to leave because of the great care I received. I was scared to go home. The one downfall was my kids were worried about me because surgery didnt start on time and they werent notified and they thought the worse. Otherwise wonderful place.

On Oct 12th I delivered my first baby girl . I was informed that the nurses and doctors on duty were NOT from that hospital due to the strike they were traveling nurses. Didn’t stop the amazing nurses in labor and delivery whom initially helped me along with the nice gentleman who checked me in. Even tho they were not at their home hospital I applaud them for not only the nice women nurse who delivered my child but the people who guided the way to a clean and easy delivery . The attention and service was the best. From the emergency room evaluation with PA to Ruben, and all the other staff were very concerned with my health and comfortat all times. In addition, my stay and treatment from the 8th floor was amazing. Dr. Castillo, nurses Romeo, Jose, Cynthia, Sergio, Jesica were always asking if I needed anything. All the staff had a smile at all times regardless of the time of day. I particularly went to this hospital because it was the closest facility to me and I suffered a hand injury at work. When I arrived, the security was whispering at us and acting as if we should already know what to do rather than giving us instructions. Despite the fact that there was no direction from the front regarding where to stand or who to speak to, I received assistance fairly quickly. After receiving care, I was told to wait for the discharge papers. I am aware that there are many people coming in and going out, but it is unacceptable to have me wait for the discharge papers for over an hour with the justification that only the nurses can assist me. I only saw one nurse in the front, and while Im not in a position to advise them on how to manage their hospital, I do believe they should have a nurse assigned only to that task. I shouldnt be hanging around the hospital waiting for discharge paperwork. How is it possible for one nurse to care for everyone who arrives while also distributing discharge papers to everyone? There has only been one nurse since I arrived, which was around 3-7:30, and I spent the majority of that time waiting for discharge papers.

The one star they are receiving is literally for the ONE nurse that was the best thing here and the beautiful elder cleaning lady that would come in and talk to me and clean the room. My overall experience was horrible. I had a nurse insert my IV, WITHOUT gloves, security was extremely rude, the nurses ignored me the whole time I was there. They’re extremely careless here. I had my lumpectomy surgery recently here. From the first nurse I met that went over the surgery to the day of the surgery, the staff, security guards, nurses, doctors, radiologists, mammogram techs, anesthesiologist, and surgeon we’re amazing. Took my baby in thinking they will helped me out with her tummy issue.First of all they just let one person in with the patient. I was trying to reason with the security to at least let my husband and I to go in with my baby since he helps me out with the baby. The security was being sarcastic. My husband finally said he was going in with my baby. Once in he said he was the nurse took babys temperature. He waited more than 2 hours and still no doctor to helped us, no room, and my baby was crying. We had to leave and go to a different hospital. Worst experience with this hospital. The nurse that was in labor & delivery threw the hospital gown at me and told me to take off my clothes I was getting contractions so I told her Wait Im getting a contractions She was like what do you mean no wait hold the baby in she didnt even bother to check how far I was dilated I was yelling out in pain because my son was coming out and that nurse never even checked a another nurse came in to check me and told me it time to push she took me to delivery room. Review of labor/ delivery. Had one of my children here. Rooms are nice, better than Huntington hospital in Pasadena, where I had my other child. Food was ok, limited. Fast food nearby but you have to pay parking again if you leave parking lot. Nurses were nice and helpful. Delivery doctors were pushy and dismissive. Anesthesiologist was nice and funny. Overall I wouldnt hesitate to have another child here if I was in the area.

Doctor spen less than 1 minute to visit me I didnt have time to tell him all of my symptomps! He asked for a blood test and CT thats it then nurse put me in hall way and the nurse wanted to give me a narcotic injection, which was a combination of four different painkillers, but I refused and told her that I need to understand the cause of the pain, so she asked me to wait in the lobby for the result! They even dont gave me a room to wait for result! Its the most strangest emergency rooms . There is only a few people in emeregency room but waiting time is over 3 hours to be seen only 25 seconds by a doctor!They dont have a room for patients so after evaluation they asked patients to return back to lobby and wut for another 3 hours to get the results. Then a nurse come and give them the result and talk to them about their symptoms and ehat they should do front of other people in the lobby so there is no privacy for patients in this emergency roomThe only 2 stars that I gave them are for nice behaviours by most of staffs.I have a especial thanks from Micheal in the lab too

I got checked it was my kidney they calmed the pain send me home and that was that they never send my prescription to my cvs 2 days later i was dying of pain worse then before had some Tylenol and i waited all day not being able to eat throwing up feeling super week, till at night of that day i had to go worse experience ever got this super rude nurse that is im not mistaken name blanca i told her how i felt let her know what i drank and because i couldnt answer he all her questions she was so inpatient, i told her i just need something i cant take the pain she extremely rudely told me what do you want me to do, wait till the medication kicks in i told her that i was here cuz i in pain not because i wanted to be there there wasnt no need for her to be so mean she was just so over her shift because she was even arguing with another nurse that she was doing everthing anyways i left dealed with the pain at home for 2 weeks more, now im 38 weeks and im squedule csection but i been with so much pelvic pain and not being able to walk today 9/2 i started to feel cramps more then normal . And more often after doing my things . And so my doctor told me if it doesnt get better before ur csection witch is in 4 days got to the hospital . So i did and i ended getting the same nurse she heard me telling my husband she was the one i got last time she started talking to me rude and asked me for my due date i didnt know if togive my actual due date or my appointment so i told her oh thursday she got mad and told me i been here sis this morning give me a damn date . After that she left me in the waiting room for 5 hours, i keeped asking but no help till there was a switch turn they checked me if i was closed and send me home cuz they said they are hicks i wasnt even monitored more then 10 min its crazy now im scared how bad its going to be for my appointment. My family and I were more than extremely unhappy with the care our brother received at St. Francis. Most of the time we were treated like uneducated idiots, even though every member of our family have degrees in various professions. I have a nursing degree with 30 years of acute care and management experience and have worked at a magnate hospital for 30 years. My brother sustained a head injury from an accident. When he was admitted to the 8th floor, no one had bothered to clean all the blood from his face, neck, chest, back, and all extremities. He looked worst than Carrie from the movie Carrie. I spent hours everyday for 3 days cleaning and washing off all the dried blood on him. His right eye was completely closed because of dried, crusted blood. I had to demand wound care and treatment for his wounds. He was given a blood thinner when he had 2 brain bleeds. I told his nurse to call the doctor about the blood thinner but she didnt and neglected to pass on to the next shift! When my brother was first admitted his CT scan was unremarkable. The next day he had one brain bleed and then 2 brain bleeds! I could not get one doctor to call me back even though multiple messages were left. In all my years of nursing practice, as well as the multitude of days and years with my parents at various hospitals, Ive never not had a physician call me for updates or address my concerns!! I brought my concerns to the manager. Her response was to guarantee me 100% this and 100% that! I told her that nothing is 100% guaranteed; and as a manager she should know this! I also told her I was afraid of staff retaliation because of my complaints. She guaranteed me 100% that that would not happen! Well it did, because the staff treated us even worse afterwards! They would not listen to any of our concerns and eventually discharged our brother even though we had a lot of concerns about his safety and the safety of others. The nurse was told that our brother was not in his right mind and was showing extremely poor judgement and was a safety risk. She said the doctors released him because he was able to answer questions appropriately. Its been 1 1/2 months now and our brother still has no memory of his accident and no memory of having been in the hospital!! When he got home, the first thing he did was get on his electric bike and ride without a helmet on for about 10 miles!! We know that they discharged him because they didnt want to deal with him and his family anymore!! It was one of the worst experiences our family every faced!! Especially after recently losing our father! I would never advise a patient to go to this hospital for treatment! Unfortunately, it was the nearest trauma center and we had no choice! The staff and doctors showed no compassion or respect or understanding.

WONT GIVE RABIES SHOT UNLESS YOU UAVE RABIES SYPTOMS! I was told very explicitly that they won’t give a rabies shot unless the patient is exhibiting symptoms. It is also my understanding that when you are exhibiting symptoms it’s too late and you’re pretty much going to die. I told the lady on the phone this and she said I could go and see if they will do it-and what else did I want to hear from her? Wow this kind of response is in my humble opinion is rude, disrespectful, hurtful, and unprofessional- and quite honestly disappointing from an institution that is supposed to serve the most vulnerable in our community. Rabies is a preventable disease and people only need a shot as a preventative measure.

Saint Francis is the place to go when you are sick. The nurses here are awesome Martha a nurse who helped me when I was very sick and did not leave my side always asking if I was okay coming into my room checking up on me even after she was off work.Trisha a very nice nurse brought me a cup of coffee when I needed it the most. I love that Betty the housekeeper kept my room very nice clean andtidy. They all talk to you like you are there best friend.Manuel who drew my blood had a great soul. He became my friend during my stay.We shared some life stories with each other. Happy he has found his love of his life. Doctors here explained to me my diagnosis in a language I could understand. When I heard I was being transported here to Saint Francis I was skeptical about coming here.But Im glad they did bring me here. My daughter was in the behavioral health department. It was a horrible experience. The hot water was out of order and made her take cold showers. The food and snacks are terrible. Her clothes and shoes were stolen. We witnessed a staff member choking a patient. They post a schedule of daily activities for the patients to do which is a joke because they dont even do them. Too many awful things happened. It is a terrible situation for patients that require mental health care. I had to get my daughter out of that horrible place. I would give zero stars.

The doctors were asking personal information and they also asked my grandma question like if she was crazy. While I was there I also noticed that a lot of patients were yelling for help and none of the doctors listened. Once I noticed how they treat their patients I told the staff that I was ready to take my grandma to a different hospital. My grandma couldn’t walk so I asked for a wheelchair and they refused. I would rather drive to a hospital 5 hours away then to go here. None of the patients are getting the right treatment. They just want the insurance money. Don’t ever come to this hospital.

My father was admitted into the ER on Thursday evening. Let me start by saying we asked the Fire Department paramedics to take him there because he has been there before and they have done great work with him. The nurses, CNAs doctors, housekeeping, were very nice and comforting. I appreciate all the work they was done helping my dad to make sure he was well and able to come home. I appreciate the hard work of all your staff that was there.The issue that I did have is with my first encounter upon getting to the ER entrance with the security guard. This man had on no mask, which is his prerogative, but his words and face were cold and nonchalant. I am a nurse myself and I know we all have rough days, but I know that how I talk to people can not only put my safety in jeopardy, but also the people working along side me.I dont know if he was having a bad day, but if he is speaking like that to everyone then one day its going to lead to a big problem. He needs a in-service on how he should speak to clients and their families and what words he should and should not say. Everyone knows that most times the Wi-fi service inside of a hospital isnt usually the greatest. If I were to rate the hospital on my first encounter then it would be a zero, but honestly I cant allow one person to affect the whole team.Thank you guys for all the hard work that you do and for putting up with all that you do as well. I’ve never had an issues at this hospital, but today 11.11.22 around 1pm, me and my mother in law were waiting in a room to get checked out, Doctor who assisted us was really rude, came in with an aggressive tone, making my mother really uncomfortable to answer any questions. I’m not sure why he was rude but that’s not a way to help visitors. Besides that nurses were kind & er wait time was over 5 hours

I was recently admitted to the ICU as I was suffering from Tylenol poisoning. Despite the fact that I was terrified about my situation, the staff in the ER when I arrived were exponentially professional and kind. I have been to the ER a couple times and they have usually been rude. Not this time. The staff at the ICU and the ward where I was transferred to after were also very professional and nonjudgmental. Although sometimes I could hear nurses badmouthing each other outside of my room at night when they thought I was asleep. Other than that, I can say that I was taken care of very well.

The staff and the Doctors were very helpful and friendly. I am saddened to rate this Hospital a one. The wait time was extremely ridiculous for a community Hospital. We waited 12 hours for something that could have been done in less than four. Nurses are overwhelmed and underpaid, this is something that the E.R nurses expressed very openly. Furthoremore, their I.T systems are extremely slow and labwork results take forever. Shame on the County and Hospitals administrators for not acknowledging that they lack the ability to service so many people, especially those suffering from a mental health episode. Conclusion, I will never step foot in this facility again. By the amount of people they have to service, im sure staff will be excited about my decision to never return.

Don’t go to this hospital if you want to get well/live, and don’t work here unless you want to risk losing your license. Nurses work 24 hour shifts at times because they won’t hire enough staff. Not enough equipment and supplies for staff to properly do their jobs. Staff can’t take their breaks ever. Management doesn’t care whatsoever. Not enough staff to turn/feed/clean patients. They give nurses more patients than legally allowed every day. This hospital needs to be shut down.

Somehow the radiology medical group and the radiology scheduling department are two separate entities that cant keep track of a referral. Weeks go by and I cant schedule my ultrasound until they receive the referral theyve been sent 3 times. Dont waste your time here.

This has been one of the worst experience in an ER. I brought my mom in for shortness of breath due to her CHF and she started coughing up blood and bleeding from the nose. I had to keep cleaning her up as she was bleeding. The nurses kept giving lame reasoning for all the blood. Finally a doctor came in hours later to say the same thing. We have been waiting for a bed for over 7 hrs. Yet patients that came after us has been taken to rooms. This is ridiculous. My mother is elderly and this is how she is treated.

I love the Professional & Caring Staff! I get admitted once a year for my respiratory therapy and maintenance. I get my own clean room with wonderful picturesque views of Southern Cali. The multi-positional bed is comfortable and the WiFi is healthy & consistent. I also love the food! The Chefs know how to put together healthy and hearty meals! When I am discharged, I feel great! My lungs and internal organs are refreshed and all toxins are flushed out! Overall: 5 stars out of 5.

I just got the strength to post this review. My 18 year old son died in this hospital 1-1-22, due to a car accident, he was a passenger, his girlfriend was the driver. My review is that low because no one call us, the family to let us know. He arrived at the hospital alive at 4:36 pm, he died at 5:12 pm.No one call us, his girlfriend Notified my daughter at 8:20 pm there has been an accident, and the nurses wouldn’t give her any information because she was not family. I went to the hospital and The hospital staff was rude, they didn’t let me see my boy, they held the body for 11 days and I was not able to see my son. I got multiple rude answer from the nurses, and was not able to contact anyone. I don’t know how hard they try to save my son, but I know they lack the care and sympathy to inform me the next of kin about his passing. Or at least ask the girlfriend for my number.Hope all those nurses that good me, “ they didn’t have the time to answer my question never encountered incompetent staff like themselves.

Overall, my husband stay @ St. Francis Medical ctr was wondering until he was discharged. Nurse Jose, rushed my wounded husband out of the hospital without providing discharge instructions; and no medication. Went to get induced for my pregnancy Thursday 5am waited 10 long hours so they can get me a room😒 the best thing about being there was my nurse Henny and Ruth I was blessed to have met them that day. I am currently at the hospital in labor and i regret it deeply. Not only did i wait 3 hours in the small waiting room in family center they kept telling me they had no beds. I go in and theres like 5 beds available there was about 5 women waiting with me as well . they also do not come and check up on you at all. I been here since 10:47 am and in the room where they keep like 10 beds a little after 1 pm and the nurse has only come check up on me about 4 times. They also told me its going to be a while . my cervix was checked 1 time how would they even know . Its currently 9:17 pm . I only came here because they have a nicu. I regret my decision deeply. I feel abandoned. I am currently debating on leaving but since i am in labor i dont know if i can i am extremely upset, to the point that Ive cried. I tried to get the nurse attention several times and nothing. This is the worse hospital experience Ive ever had in my life. I would not recommend any women to give birth here Ever .

A month ago my mom came in with extreme abdominal pain. They told her the spleen and liver were swollen. They gave her ibuprofen and discharged her. This past Sunday my mom came back, with same abdominal pain but not swollen along with swollen armpits, swollen thighs, swollen throat, swollen abdomen. Now they tell her its cancer without giving her any results. Shes been there for almost a week, no diagnoses and scolding because she waited until her condition worsen. Any 5 star reviews left are either employees trying to make this place seem better than it is or its just the staff that didnt like seeing therework place rated at 1 star. Some nurses are very friendly however in this experience the Nurse Analie from 6th floor was very rude to my parents and when I arrive try to speak to her in regards my fathers status and she wasn’t Reachable. Even the doctor got there there and was looking for her.Secondly it seems like they just has my das there to charge the bill he had no IVy no oxygen, no medicine and there was no clean diagnosis. Simmons, Dr. Amirhossein, Dr. Zangiabadi, Lab Techs, and the ENTIRE staff (including Nurse Dylan) properly looked after me the whole time.I can only describe my experience as 1st. having nearly expired, then transitioning to what I could best equate to the after-world replete with a bevy of the most attentive of angels and advancedbeings of sorts.As opposed to being prodded and poked as many may say, I was in fact properly examined with the utmost of care, courtesy, and consideration (pardon me if I seem superfluous in my praises and my show of gratitude).Came time for my discharge, I left St. Francis Medical Center, right as rain.Many, many thanks again.Bless you all (especially those currently on the mend - may all your ills be swiftly cured).Oh, and Nurse Dylan - such a well poised and classy individual:)

I don’t usually write reviews. But genuinely this place is horrible I urge everyone to find some place else. The nurses and doctors are so rude and entitled. I think they forget their job is to help people and no one there wants to be there either. It’s sad to see that they think this attitude is fit for public health. The doctors will try to get you out as soon as they can. They will print out your diagnosis along with papers from websites on how to help yourself instead of wanting to have a quick one on one. It’s an emergency room yes but their rushing to kick people out is disgusting. There was a black nurse or assistance sitting near sample collecting, with her mask under her chin and yelling rudely at a man who could not understand her because he didn’t speak english. She was yelling at the top of her lungs telling him to stop moving the chair out of place. It was horrific and unprofessional and so ghetto. I wish healthcare was prioritized in these areas. And I wish everyone is that hospital lost their jobs. There was only one kind ultra sound nurse who had a genuinely good heart and good attitude. I hope she’s doing well.

My husband and I came to the emergency room because he had stubbed his toe and it got infected, he is diabetic, they told him he had to stay because there was already septicemia in his blood and they hospitalized him and immediately channeled him and they put serum. From that moment my husbands blood sugar began to rise considerably and for no (apparent) reason, my husband told them what medications he was taking to control his blood sugar, and they insisted on giving him insulin because his blood sugar was too high and they said that only with insulin would he take it. they could go down, but I explained to them that he had his blood sugar under control, that he did not take insulin, only pills, but they did not listen to me. The nurses and doctors were worried that his blood sugar was rising and they couldnt explain why since they were giving him insulin. A friend of ours went to visit him and we told him about the problem my husband had regarding sugar, and he checked the serum they were giving him and realized that the serum they were giving him contained sugar, we immediately spoke to a nurse and we let him know and then they changed his serum. Thats how irresponsible and unprofessional they are at that hospital. If it wasnt for our friend who noticed, maybe something to regret would have happened, there is no doubt that he was our guardian angel. Doctors and nurses in this hospital should be more prepared and pay more attention to their patients. AVOID TELLING ME THAT YOURE SORRY AND GIVING ME YOUR NUMBER, THAT DOESNT INTEREST ME, YOU BETTER PAY MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR WORK, THATS WHAT YOU LIVE ON!!!!!!

5 stars for everything and everyone except for nurse Jesse, who discharged me. She had just clocked in and replaced nurse Sarah. It was late at night. I began to settle down thinking, ok, guess Ill be discharged tomorrow instead. And I was perfectly fine with that given that it was late and Id rather wait til morning. Thirty minutes ago I was at 7cm and had just been given pitocin. She left and came back like 20-30 minutes later and I couldn’t handle the pressure down there anymore so I yelled at her to check me again! And she nonchalantly said “oh you’re at 10cm already 🙂” like hello!! I know this!! lol…Yet, she still sits on the bed by my feet and my amniotic fluid just explodes on her… that’s the least you deserve lolANYWAY, post labor nurses were very friendly and attentive with the exception of the lactation nurse. She was really rough with squishing my baby’s cheeks and manhandling my breasts to feed my baby. I kept telling her I wanted to try to breastfeed her myself because I saw how flustered she was getting and she continued touching and pulling on me. I think her name was ROSE or ROSA so if you get her, REQUEST SOMEONE ELSE ASAP

My dad was transferred to St. Francis from Providence (Little Company of Mary) in Torrance due to his insurance. St. Francis is terrible, very indicative of a lower income neighborhood. These are the reasons why I did not like this hospital. First of all, theres a parking fee. I think a lot of patients who come here are not wealthy, and to charge a parking fee for their family to visit is outrageous. It can be costly for a family to pay parking daily to visit their loved ones. In the room my dad was in, had what looked like blood stains on the curtain, so disgusting! The nursing staff is not affable at all, and they ignore the patients. I noticed a huge difference in quality between the nurses at Providence and this hospital. One time, walking down the corridor, I keep hearing this patient calling out to the nurses because she was in pain. They completely ignored her. As I was walking by, the woman pleaded me to call the nurses for her. She told me she kept pushing the button for them to come, but they never came. I relayed the message to the nurses. They said okay wed check up on her, but they didnt. I continued to hear the poor woman wailing in pain. One good thing that we experienced, at least for my dad, was that his doctor, Mark Tsai was a good one. He was patient and answered all my questions. Since I had to be at work and not there all the time, he had to call my phone to talk to me. I know sometimes you have no choice of where to go for your health services, but if you could avoid this hospital, you should.

Today will be the 7th day my fiancé is still in the hospital. My fiancé has stage 4 cancer and is willing to fight for his life. The general doctor from the 8th floor always giving him bad news that end up being false information or information not given well. Since Ive arrived to St. Francis Hospital which was on the first week of October 2022 and still currently here. I have been treated really well from ICU to the 6th floor to the 5th floor the staffs are amazing people and Im truly grateful for their kindness and love, though they are short staffed their efforts to serve me is truly appreciated.I would like to also add that the staffs in dialysis on the 7th floor are top notch so kind and makes you feel so comfortable especially when Im new to dialysis. She didn’t help didn’t wanna do anything she was very careless she left me with out a pad the whole night she didn’t care she also was complaining about my family members calling & asking about how I was doing, she should not be working in the hospital she also left me alone knowing I was high rush of falling she didn’t care. Over all I had a good experience expect with nurse Diana she does not care she should not be working there!.

I was at hospital to do implant on my arteries. The floor of cardiology I have good services and where sweet and my Doctor Singh is a great person. When they done transfer me recovery room,on the floor was not enough nurses and I noticed short personal and they didnt have good courtesy for the patient, they need to put personal that love to be a nurses, that I was saw. Some people didnt like hospital, but myself I was 7 hrs. I will like to tell director of hospital to give good services to patients, we deserve good services.

I just had surgery yesterday and I was so nervous because of the reviews I read. To my surprise my visit has been great so far. The nurses have been patient with me, never making me feel like I am bothering them and explain everything to me. I am very satisfied with my stay.

I waited roughly two hours for care but despite that fact the staff does its absolute best. I DID NOT get a sense any of the staff were rude or unprofessional but were very direct and honest.. I believe the ER staff nurses and doctors aid were Lisa and Steven. Both were sharp and very very professional. I think the level of care was good and I dont regret going. Just be prepared to be asked direct questions and dont be offended by this. We just need to realize, there are only 7 or 8 ER beds at St. Francis and two ER nurses for serving S. Central and actually Im amazed it nearly works out.

Im changing my opinion on my rating because Saint Francis Medical center has shown me that they are worth the 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating because they are taking excellent care of my husband. I highly recommend Dr. LaMay a neurosurgeon who did an excellent job in surgery on my husband, releasing some of the tension in his neck hopefully my husband will be able to walk again. Thank you Dr. LaMay!

I went in for surgery on December 10, 2020 and I had the greatest experience. My review is for the surgical department. During these COVID times I was hesitant as to getting the surgery. I went in through the side door and was greeted by the sweetest lady. She took my temperature since I had gone through pre-op and COVID testing a week before, she took me to a waiting office to check in as a hospital patient. I didnt wait very long. I was told to go to the second floor and wait for someone to come get me. There was no one in the waiting area. When they took me in I was introduced to my nurse Maria T. She took me to my room and gave me my gown and things to change into. I was extremely nervous and she was aware. She looked at me and said Dont be scared you are under Gods authority she brought me so much peace and was the best nurse ever. She kept trying to make me as comfortable as she could bringing me warm blankets and constantly checking on me since my doctor was running late. My nurse that took me to the OR was amazing too. So kind and explained everything. He made sure I was comfortable. When I woke up I was in recovery with my nurse Samantha. She was also kind and we chatted as she watched my vitals. Then I went back to Maria who would give me my discharge paper work. She brought me juice and I would of loved to have hugged her bye since she made all the difference that day. From the beginning at 10 am to 6 pm when I left everyone I came in contact with was kind and professional making my stay and surgery a good experience. I am still recovering and everything has been well so far. Thank you surgical team.

Today august 10, 2022 I came to the ER & let me tell you the stuff going on here are extremely sad the way the nurses in the waiting room talk to the patience is sad I went in for an ultrasound was seen by the doctor after he told me they will call me back in to explain ultrasound findings etc I went back to waiting room and nurse brought me discharge papers saying my results are in the paperwork with my medication in front of everyone else in the waiting room this made me feel extremely uncomfortable and I know for a fact this shouldn’t be discussed around anyone. I left the hospital without an explanation on my findings I have it only on paper and apparently have to do my own research now regarding what was in my ultrasound scan this is so wrong and sad

It’s hit and miss with the staff here. The doctor was great but some of the nurses were extremely rude and in-caring to our requests. One nurse in particular was super atrocious in brushing off my wife request to keep our newborn baby with us. She insisted that we remove our quiet sleeping baby and put him in the nursery. I could understand if the baby was keeping mom up of something along those lines. But this nurse had no actual justifiable reason other than yelling at mom and I that “it’s policy”. And acourse the other staff backed her once an argument started. We will deliver at home next time. Five stars for the great doctor and a few great nurses. But minus 10 stars for this cold evil nurse. I hope she gets fired or slips and breaks her hip/back while at home. That’s all I can legally write about her on here so I’ll end my post now.

If I can give this place zero stars I would!My grandmother is currently there for chest pains, has been there since 4 pm. It is currently 11pm, she is STILL waiting for a Dr!On top of that, the nurses arent even checking on her! My grandmother speaks only Spanish. & there is NOBODY there to help translate.I cant go in, as my grandfather doesnt want to leave her side. Hes been in tears because nobody wants to help attend them!! Blaming HIMSELF for not being able to communicate with the staff! HIMSELF!!!!!I dont understand, why its hard to get a nurse or staff member to help translate!?!I honestly thought this hospital was getting better, with all these reviews, but obviously its still the same!

Got my Rona vaccine today (first dose). It was a fast and easy process. Just fill out the paperwork they give u, wait your turn in line and boom done. My appointment was at 12 and Im here sitting in the monitor area now. So it was easy and the shot didnt even hurt. Glad I didnt have to wait in no 3 or 4 hour lines.

Mother had UTERUS removed. She said staff was off the hook. Dr. who performed surgery was a FILIPINA lady who was just great. Gave me a call right after surgery to tell me all was good. Nurses were very caring and professional. Lady who dropped off my mom to my car today was an angel. My mother has nothing but praise for this spot.

I came in twice today the second time was for my scheduled induction at 3pm, both times they had no rooms available and the staff was so rude maybe because they were under so much pressure. Terrible service. The nurses do not keep you informed on procedures. Have been here since 630 this morning time now is 3 p.m apparently they are waiting for a room so my grandma can recover. Nurse Ben would get me information on my grandma and I was never informed. Called the help desk three times and still nothing. Last time they hung up on me. This place isterrible. They should be taught common courtesy on informing patients family members on whats going on. TERRIBLE SERVICE. DO NOT COME HERE. This place is so bad if I could give it no stars I would!. Nurse Jimmy was very helpful the rest need to take some classes on common courtesy. Dear God!

I am Chantel, an RN. The paramedics dropped me in west coast plaza ER hospital where I was left unattended for more than 45 minutes. I was in so much pain, vomiting that I couldn’t find a word to describe how bad the pain was. I called one of my friend to pick me up from their ER to St francis medical center. Upon my arrival at sfmc Doctors, nurses, technicians were there for me. After a quick assessment from Dr Martinez, they drawn blood, start an IV and did a CT scan quickly. What I appreciate the most is the shot of morphine the Dr gave me to relieve my pain. The ER staff was awesome. Thanks to RN Ariel, RN Stephanie, they found a way to make me laugh through my pain. The Ct scan result showed kidney stones and stones in my urethra trying to pass. How awesome was this. I thank God for putting these awesome people in this hospital who understand what is an urgent situation and the right thing to do to help people out. High five Sfmc.

I am writing this review to thank the whole team at St Francis because it’s the very least I could do for everything they have done for me. Dr Moss and his team, Laura, his front office and nurses are a treasure to me. From the moment I met them to post both my surgeries everyone cared and treated me with so much love. I had bilateral total knee replacement at the same time and a year after a right hip total arthroplasty. I can walk now, stretch and most importantly go back to living my life pain free. I dont understand why this hospital has low reviews? I had a surgery done this morning, and the staff as well as the treatment was amazing. I couldnt have asked for better care. The nurses Elena, Lawrence, Hasan, and Rhea went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe and at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to feel extra reassured, and safe before and after their procedure. Such incredible people there.

The staff is great except the ER Doctor (Jones) clearly doesn’t care & just wants to clear beds a quickly as possible. Severe Lower back pain, he told me there’s nothing he can do about pain. Refused to do MRI & CT Scan. I can’t stand or walk but was discharged. Still in so much pain now spreading through my leg. Those kind of people should be supervisors of dump trucks not the medical field

This place is a joke and a danger to the community it serves. My poor sister has been in and out in the past month. Shes been having Gastrointestinal issues. They seem to get her under control when shes there but with no real results. They simply send her home as is and shes always back within a few days. Whats the point. I fear for my sisters well being and know that she wont get the type of help required at St. Francis.

My father passed away on March 19. He was a patient here. He first went to the hospital which resulted in him having a fracture in his back. While he was there he mentioned that a couple nurses weren’t treating him well, and wouldnt check up often. For example, he would be hungry but wouldn’t be able to reach the food and no one would show up, also when he’d press the buzzer for help, they shut it off because he was pushing it “too much”. Couple days went by and he was discharged. They didn’t prescribe any meds for his back pain besides Tylenol and gave him a brace for his back. ... he started feeling unwell again and we had to take him back where he stayed a week more and got discharged again. Every time we would call for updates, it was always something different no one was ever on the same page. When he came home again, he didn’t look well. He didn’t get any new indications of what to do to take care. He just continued to get worse and would hardly move and would get agitated quickly which led to us having to call an ambulance to take him back. He was put in the ICU in a couple of days because his health was deteriorating. The ICU team was great. They kept us updated with how everything was going. Unfortunately he ended up passing away when he was in critical condition and there wasn’t much to do anymore... his records from the second time show that he has severe sepsis and other conditions yet they didn’t tell us how we should be taking care of him or what should be done as well as any medication.Overall I can’t help but feel that my father would’ve probably still been here if he had gone somewhere else. Or if the doctors who attended him first would’ve let us know what was really wrong with my dad instead of just sending him back home knowing damn well he was not okay.

Everything went smoothly Drs were great and helpful. They really took their time and made sure I was okay. The only problem I had was the wait time. 6 hours in a lobby with other sick people who Im sure some have covid. But other than that just the wait time to be released.
