This company ripped me off so badly!I have been a fan of Final Fantasy VII since I was a kid. Most recently, the new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released. Being a diehard fan I preordered the Collectors Edition back in October 2023 for a whopping 415.82USD (over 570$CAN).Fast forward to the release date of February 29/24 - a week goes by and no updates on my package. Once I began to inquire about where my package was - customer service was virtually unavailable. I must of emailed upwards for 10-15 times before I finally began to get any responses. Square Enix blamed the courier and the courier blamed Square Enix.From what I could discern from my very limited responses from Square was there was a shipping label issue. I also read online that several orders with the Collectors Edition were affected all over the world.Eventually, after 2.5 weeks Square Enix blamed the issue on me, saying I gave them an incorrect address.I need to be very clear here, I have been shipping to said address for years, I confirmed and double checked and confirmed again that the address provided was correct - as I also use it several times a week for my business - there is no chance in hell that the address I provided was incorrect.Eventually, after over a month of trying to get a hold of someone who could help (with no success) some unbothered customer service agent (via email) informed me there was nothing they could do and that the fault lay with me. They told me I would be refunded minus the shipping. Then they abruptly shut down my inquiry.I cannot express how disappointed and frustrated I am. As far as I am concerned - they robbed me for their screw-up. I have been a fan of this company since they were Squaresoft and of the Final Fantasy series and their other games since I was a kid.Not only did I not even get a full refund (even of what they promised me), I never got my game. These people are awful to their fanbase and customers - I will never buy anything from them again.I know this will never go anywhere - but I dont know what else to do. I am so angry about this entire process, especially the amount of money involved (and lost) and the beyond terrible customer service. Maybe at least, i can prevent someone from making the mistake I made with these crooks. Vent at the bare minimum.I dont even wanna play the game anymore - this has left such a bad impression.This company is awful, theyre crooks and straight-up, just suck.

Horrendous, thief of a company who cares only about how much money they can siphon from their unfortunate fans, long-standing and new.Been a fan of Square Enix for over 25 years and that ended as of today. I will never. Ever utilize services from such an incompetent company ever again and I have filed two complaints against them with the LA BBB.Don’t even bother calling customer service at all. They are completely awful and again, only care about the almighty dollar and how stupid they can attempt to make you feel. Ignorant, unhelpful bunch of “representatives” for such an audacious company.If you get Jibran when you call technical support, just hang up immediately as he is completely and utterly useless. 0 stars if I could after my final experience with this company today but 1 is the lowest it’ll allow.

Stopped by for an impromptu visit to the SE USA office and was met by the very friendly and knowledgeable Miguel. No tours are available but Miguel answered so many questions and took his time explaining what goes on at this location. It was pretty cool to see official SE merchandise and artwork placed in the lobby. I was even able to hold and take pictures with official 2022 Game Awards trophies! It was an awesome experience to stop by and be met with helpful staff. Thanks!

Please note that my review is to reflect the sales for the tickets to Final Fantasy Festival 2023 - I sent in my account in hopes to get the code for early access but I was not choosen yet they still had 150,000 tickets available but I understood. When the tickets when on sale I was online and waiting for the page to go live - once it did I was in line for about 10 mins once it let me into the page to order all tickets had been taken and it reflect Sold Out. This was extremely upsetting, and I tried contacting support or other departments to make this right, but nobody could help me. Im not expecting anything free and will be happy to submit payment but the way it was handled I felt could have been executed better in my own opinion. Thank you!

Lots of reviews of this location aimed at the company and not what there is to visit here. Located in an office building in suite 150 (recently moved from the 3rd floor) there is a small lobby with some statues, artbooks, and a TV playing clips. This particular office is the NA corporate HQ where they handle business stuff and dont do any game development. It was fun to stop by for a photo op and everyone was super friendly and happy to have us visit, but not too much to see. Was dropping a friend off at LAX and it was convenient and easy to swing by before his flight. Easy parking in a garage (not free though).

Games are good but the software is not user friendly at all. I try to reset my password, put in my email, website asks for a confirmation email but there is none in the email that was sent. No back buttons on the program. Really disappointed in the client when they have amazing games.

Worse customer support in the video game industry. The North American department has no say in anything and everything has to go through the Japan division in order to get something done. My online account has been inaccessible for over a month and it has yet to be recovered and their only response for me is that theyre still looking into it. Their policy is to not offer any refunds to unused game time as well, which means if you paid 30 days of subscription and they close your account, you would not be refunded. Would never deal with this company with again with their current business practices.

Absolute WORST customer support ever. I am horribly disappointed in their complete incompetence. Ive had to contact them over 4 times for items Ive purchased but never received. Their responses were vague and unsure and completely unhelpful. Theyve even given me wrong information. Theyve just taken my money and dont care about delivering what Ive paid for. Their indifference is astounding. For such a big-name company, you would expect much better.

They create awesome games and give absolutely the worst account/customer support in all of gamedom. The one star is a pity-star - they deserve less for the service. a. they do not work on weekends - so do not bother emailing/calling. b. IF you email it is 2 business days before they even respond - and if they do - it is never to solve the problem - it is basically to ask you to re-tell everything you already asked for...stall tactics. c. IF you do call it can be hours on hold before the one guy they have working in customer support picks up the phone. It is such a shame: The creative team is great - their business end - wow just wow...

The game’s development staff (FF XI Online) has always been notoriously and habitually silent on virtually every aspect of the game. This lead to strange myths such as improved crafting results being influenced by facing a specific direction at a specific time of day, on a specific moon phase. In actuality, the most solid information has come from data miners and people with enough time and knowledge of mathematics to derive damage calculations using various testing methods. Without third-party tools and their default plugins, the game never gave players basic information such as how the success rate of a Beastmaster’s Charm abilities and duration was tied to its Charisma statistic. Or that skeletons were weak to bludgeoning damage and strong against piercing. Dont get the playerbase started on Genkai [level breaks] and the Skillchain charts.

Account suspended permanently for a billing error on their part. My bank was willing to call them or write them and they wouldnt even accept this. They want my bank to take responsibility for their error and are holding my account hostage in the process. Horrible customer service. After being a loyal customer for more than a decade I might finally be done with them.

Terrible customer support, like the worst I have ever experienced. They have been holding my account hostage for six months now because of a billing error on their part. Im still trying to get it back and they arent even trying to help me. They just sent me an email saying we cannot help you via email after i opened a ticket and then when I call customer support and Im put on hold for a whole 1 hour and 45 mins they say they are looking into it. This company is a joke. They dont even deserve a star.

Horrible, HORRIBLE!!After an issue with a subscription charges for Final Fantasy XIV, i spent a good hour trying to find someone to help me out with my issue.. They dont have a Contact number, or if you want the number you have to jump through hoops, they make it as difficult as possible.Then when I finally was able to speak through LIVE CHAT with someone, after a 2 hour wait - the agent told me he couldnt help me and then disconnected the chat without giving me a chance to respond.These people at Square Enix are the lowest form of scum, Ive never been so motivated in my life to send a complaint to the BBB.

The customer service here is absolutely god-awful. I called four separate times and got hung up on every single time. I was calm, polite and very patient. The person at the front desk didn’t seem rude, just unknowledgeable. I asked for some basic information and ended up on a wild goose chase and never got what I needed.

The video games may be good, but the manga of a certain series has very poor popularity and also has lack of taste and also development. The manga story is already completely out of shape and quality. The anime is better than the manga story. Even if it has sad scenes. The author needs to see that was totally uncalled for best girl being taken away. He made a forced couple and a couple that shouldnt have been happening at all. Thats just plain wrong and the reason why the manga story needs to be re-written cause it ended in a extremely sour note sort of way. And the series of what Im talking about is none other than Akame Ga Kill.

People complain a lot about Square Enix, and that’s not right. Sure, they may not be the best at helping out in customer service, but they make up for it with how well they compose their games, and the messages they teach us. My mom used to work by here, and when I went to her work, I was so excited each time we passed the Square Enix building.

I just purchased Heavensward for Final Fantasy XIV. They sent me an email asking for a scan of my drivers license for further verification. They gave no email to send it to. I called the North American customer service number and was on hold for 2 hours before giving up. Worst game customer service I have experienced in my 15 years of gaming.

SE North America is a joke. These lazy idiots do not want to do their jobs. Personal opinion I think its the american mentality. So decided to contact SE Japan and wow what a major difference. I will never deal with SE North America again. Personal opinion SE North America may just be an affiliation of SE Japan licensed to carry the SE logo. SE Japan should be worried what these guys are doing to the SE name brand.

Been trying to get TWO FFXIV issues resolved since 2017 and neither have been resolved after posting in forums, talking to in game GMs, been disconnected on by GMs in game before I was finished typing and even asked them to please stand by as I type, my posts in their forums were deleted because I was giving negative (but polite) feedback about a specific GM, they either silence my posts where I cant respond to them or delete them or move them to an unrelated category so I dont get the help Ive been asking for, and they wont let me speak to a supervisor even though I asked repeatedly. They kept giving me the run-around Someone will be contacting you but they never do! With customer service like this, I am canceling my subscription and letting every place on the internet know how I was treated and couldnt get any resolution! Im done being polite at this point. My relaxation time for gaming is not worth all of this.
