Hands down the best neighborhood I know in sunnyvale.The main aspects one may look for in choosing a good home are:1. Proximity to amenities like health care, groceries, school, events etc2. Support from leasing office and service/maintenance team3. Security and overall neighborhood safety4. Neighborhood/ community values5. Pricing/cost6. Neighborhood amenities like swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, amazon hubs, and well amintained in-unit appliances.Spruce is the best choice in Sunnyvale considering all the above criteria.I had a great experience with the leasing office team and maintenance teams, while moving in and moving out, helping and supporting me.I would definitely recommend Spruce to anyone looking for a home that checks all the boxes.

Ive lived at Spruce since 2019 but soon to move out. The first impression with the staff wasnt the best but they have approved over time. Overall, its been such a great experience. Each home comes with a garage parking, essential appliances, wood floor, and modern look. The communal space includes gym, swimming pool, hot tub, game rooms, lounge, and tennis courts!! They do a great job maintaining beautiful landscape, communal amenities, and each home. The leasing office staffs are very responsive and helpful when I needed help. I love that they implemented technology like resident portal software, Amazon lockers for packages, and smart lock product throughout the entire community. These not only really bring convenience for the tenants but also more security.A couple of drawbacks, since this area is in the heart of silicon valley, rent is pretty high. And this city is not bus friendly. There are times when loud jets fly over the property.Anyway, Id DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this apartment for any individual, a couple, or a family. Its worth it!

I recently visited your community and wanted to share my experience, which unfortunately left me feeling quite disappointed.After touring four units, I requested access to one more apartment, J316, at approximately 12:57pm. I was planning to spend no more than 10 minutes there to complete my tour.However, I was denied by one of your front desk receptionists, stating that my access was restricted from 12pm-1pm, limited to only 4 apartments. I was not informed of such restrictions beforehand. The welcome email actually stated, We typically spend 1 hour sharing our Neighborhood with you – we want you to see everything. Obviously, I did not get to see everything.Moreover, I found the manner in which this was communicated to me to be quite disrespectful. The receptionist in question seemed more concerned about meeting his next guest than addressing my needs as a potential tenant. This attitude was not only off-putting but also raised concerns about the overall professionalism of your leasing office.As a result of this experience, I am choosing not to proceed with renting at Spruce. However, I believe its important to share my feedback so that you can address these issues internally. Transparency about policies and respectful treatment of potential tenants are crucial for creating a positive impression and fostering trust.I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider making improvements to ensure a more positive experience for future visitors. Spruce is a relatively large complex with over 700 units consisting of Studio, 1B, 2B, and 3B units.You can imagine how many people live here, including four-legged family members.That being said, the Leasing Team and Service Team have been doing a fantastic job of assisting new and current residents and maintaining the complex.Both teams are on-site seven days a week, so they quickly respond if any matters need their attention.The complex has beautiful trees, flowers, grass, and a pond that are regularly maintained and cleaned.There are several amenities that residents can reserve and enjoy.Spruce is constantly making improvements when it comes to our safety and happiness, and they are open to suggestions. We look forward to what is to come.Thank you to the leadership and the entire staff of the leasing and service teams!

We’ve been living here for 6 years now.The staff is nice and pretty responsive.The amazon lockers and the package room are very convenient.The complex even has tennis courts.The gym is nice, but it’s not sufficient if you are serious about weight training.The pool is heated, which is nice in the winter.I love the landscaping, with all the old trees.The building has elevators and each unit has AC.The area is very convenient and close to El Camino and a 15 minute walk from Downtown Sunnyvale.

Moving to the US during a pandemic was hard, butthe Spruce team made it a seamless experience.I had extremely strict criteria for housing and Spruce met all of them:1. safe (located by large street)2. quiet3. unit with full hardwood4. In-unit washer and dryer5. Close to grocery stores6. Responsive management team in case issues arise7. In-unit a/c in BOTH bedroom and living room (surprisingly dont need to use it because there are many trees around)Few words to describe Spruce management team (especially with Chris and Jeff, who I dealt with most):1. Patient: I started looking for housing in March but ended up signing in June as I was stuck in Canada. I had sent likely 50+ emails to the team and each time, they answered with detail, clarity, and empathy. They werent pushy sales people.I brought up many concerns from reading reviews and the team responded with action plans and accommodations. This included ensuring that my unit was inspected for pests prior to move in, in order to provide a peace of mind.2. Responsive: I got three days to complete my move in checklist. I spoke with a rep called Alex on the phone and asked many clarifying questions about the checklist. Not only did he patiently respond, he also requested maintenance to fix certain issues and this was resolved on the same day. For example, the dishwasher tray had rust (got a new replacement), the closet door didnt close properly (instantly fixed), the smoke detector randomly went off at night while sleeping (new replacement). Days after, I had other requests sent in and the maintenance team came on the same day. The management team always responds to their emails in a very timely manner.Management is working on package/parcel process (as they have been missing). Management is acting quickly and responsively to provide a consolidated area with cameras for carriers to leave packages as a temporary solution. I am impressed with their problem solving and look forward to a permanent solution.Overall review of property so far:Neighbours are quiet. People respect quiet hours and are expected to adhere to it. The property has amazing amenities such as pool and tennis court.Things to Consider:1) third floor- I am glad I selected third floor as I have no issues with sound2) hardwood- some units arent fully hardwood. I am glad to select a fully hardwood unit as it seems newer and easier to cleanSome cons but arent a deal-breaker:1) as someone has mentioned before, the shower heads arent high enough. I am only 56 and my head can touch the shower headI highly recommend Spruce to others and I hope to continue to have an amazing experience!

We love our new home! We visited Spruce because the website looked promising, and we were under a deadline to move.The leasing agents that we have dealt with are wonderful. They are friendly and helpful. Mercedie was the first Spruce rep that we met and she showed us all the floorplans above and below our budget so I could make a sound decision. She didnt pressure me at all, and I decided to move here the following morning. We have since enjoyed working with Malcolm and Lisa, as well as a couple others whose name I didnt catch.My moving experience at Spruce was easy. The staff helped me with all the necessary paperwork, including making our pets at home.I am a single working mom with two kiddos. The gym, pools, game room, etc have been great for them to play, get exercise, and meet new neighbors.I recently lost a close friend in a car accident, and Mercedie noticed I was having a hard time moving, working, and helping make arrangements for my friends services. With Malcolms help, they planned a special gift so I could take my kids to the movies and get plenty of treats. So kind.We look forward to living here and enjoying all the community has to offer.

My partner has lived in the complex for 2-3 years and shared his/her experience with me:-They recently changed the water fee to having all the complex uses divided by the number of units. They sent an email threatening them to comply or their credit score would be hurt. I have never heard of any apartment complex threatening their tenants in such a way. This led me to post the experience and while keeping his/her identity anonymous.-The neighborhood has prevalent crime and theft. As other reviews have stated, multiple tenants have had their wheels stolen on multiple occasions (as the renters parking is not secured at all).-Hot water availability usually fluctuates over the week.-As everyone else has complained, I can confirm that the walls are extremely thin and everything can be heard. Some neighbors decide to have their dogs on the balcony alone all day long and barking is nonstop. Many have sound systems that can be heard at all times so be prepared for your sleep to be disturbed.While the amenities are great, the details mentioned here have a great impact on your quality of life, especially over long periods. Its better to spend a little more and invest your time and money somewhere safer and with a higher quality of life.

Think twice before moving here if you have kids or pets, or care about your mental health. The fire alarm goes off every week, usually in the early morning or around midnight. Its deafening and youre more likely to die of a heart attack than a fire. The administration brushes off my pleas to make it quieter. I am a hostage to the inability to terminate the lease agreement early without paying penalty fees. My mental health is seriously suffering because of sleep issues and nightmares I developed.

Its a beautiful well-maintained peaceful community, widely spread yet well connected. After touring in person, we realized that Spruce stands true to the advertised pictures. It was love at first sight.Alex Allgood gave us a virtual tour followed by in person tour. Despite the short notice, she was kind enough to show us the unit, surroundings and answered all our leasing queries with all patience & honesty. We felt so confident that we looked and lease the apartment on the same day itself.But due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to preponed our move. She along with the maintenance team were super helpful to get pest inspection and few minor fixes done in just 1 day. When Alex was not physically available in the office, other leasing officials took necessary and prompt follow-ups. On top of that, she also regularly communicated with us to ensure our smooth movement. Rest few things have been taken care of well by the diligent maintenance team post-move-in.However, I still do have few suggestions and would be happy if Spruce can take care of this in near future:1. The trash system is in the parking lot which sometimes starts stinking. I believe that Spruce can revise their trash management system.2. I am afraid it’s not a gated community. At least we can expect gates in underground parking space.One last thing to highlight, although the unit is well insulated, the upstairs floors are creaky.Thanks again, Alex. You’ve been so responsible, that I didn’t need to worry about anything when you said “it will be taken care of” 🙂.

Hey, a year ago I was looking for an apartment and found this great place. But unfortunately I checked the reviews on Google maps and other sites and everything looks so sad. I mean, as you can see, the rating is 3.7, but trust me, thats not even true.We lived here for over a year and it was a great time: the area is large (you can easily and safely walk around and inside the residential complex), the amenities are very good: tennis courts, a hot tub, swimming pools, gardens, a games room and other cozy places. You have the option to book the amenities and throw a big party for your friends (like we did many times).I agree that the neighbors can be loud sometimes and the ceilings and walls are thin. But we lived in the Heatherwood building on the 3rd floor, so we never complained about noise, everything was calm.And the staff is amazing, I love everyone in this community. They were very friendly, helpful in every situation and careful. The cleaners, plumbers and other workers were professional. Many thanks to the guys for your wonderful work!Overall: worth it, 8/10! The price is really affordable. If you check the apartment market nearby, you will be shocked at how cheap the property is for such a service.Highly recommend! We moved out only because we were looking for another location and right now also we are living in Prometheus apartments.

Updated review: Glad that the management installed security cameras around the neighborhood which was a great concern to me. Updating my review score from 2 to 5. Summary:Location: 2 miles walk from Sunnyvale downtown/caltrain. Pretty central. Also away from highways, so no highway noise inside houses.Apartment unit: Floor plan is good. Ample sized balcony. Lots of trees around the unit. If you like nature, you might consider the place.Amenities: Big swimming pool, places to socialize and hangout with neighbors. Sports area for tennis, volleyball. Game rooms.Neighbors: Great community. People with similar interests tend to hangout together. There is a spruce community portal where you can find people with similar interests.Past review: Moved here 2 months back. I really liked the community - great amenities, great neighbors (5 stars for that). But little did I know about the security system here. Started noticing a week back, almost everyday, some or the other neighbor reports about car crimes - car/bike thefts are so common here. Last week, in my parking garage, I saw someones car had no wheels and rim on one side - got to know those were stolen (see the image attached yourself). I was under the notion that if you leave anything valuable in car, thefts or break-ins happen. But stealing of wheels and rim from a car - where is the car owners fault in this? Had I known car thefts are so common here (got to know from neighbors its not a new thing here and has been a case for the past 7-8 months and still the management hasnt yet installed security cameras and gates in the parking garage), I would have not moved here. And also many neighbors have complained that the courtesy patrol is not at all active here. So, just wanted to share this to anyone looking to move here to be cautious of what they might be getting into. The apartment lacks the basic security systems like security camera, gates in the parking garage and active patrolling even though this has been an issue from 8 months!! I had asked the management if they will be installing these and the answer was NO.

I stayed at Spruce for a little over a year. Its a nice apartment community with good amenities (great pool, clubhouse, plenty of parking, and tennis court). Staff was very professional; from move in to move out my experience was smooth. If something came up, maintenance would fix it within 24 hours. They also helped with package issues and my move out charges were reasonable.Only thing to be aware is that depending on your apartment location, it could get a little noisy. I didnt really mind too much and staff were helpful in resolving any noisy complaints.Had to find a new apartment in SF because of a new job but I would definitely stay at Spruce again if I am back in the South Bay!

We lived here for 3 years from 2018 to 2021 and loved it there!The unit we lived in had an amazing view of the pond and trees from the patio and bed room.The community is well maintained with a lot of greenery. The maintenance team is awesome! They make sure to take care of all your requests ASAP.The leasing agents are very good as well. They talk to you in a polite and pleasant manner and are helpful.The only issue was the loud noises we could hear from adjacent units. We would be able to hear shower sounds too.Apart from that, this place is lovely to live in :)

Weve recently moved into Spruce Apartments from Europe and are really enjoying our time here. The nature around the complex is beautiful, the amenities you get within the complex are great, the front desk is very friendly and they reply very fast over e-mail.I have to give a shout out to the maintenance team as well, weve had some issues with our appliances. We send out service requests via the Web Portal and Jose P. came to us the same day! He is very friendly, fixed all our issues very quickly and also had time to fix additional non-reported issues.

I live at Spruce Sunnyvale for over a year, pay almost 4K per month, you can hear the neighbors from all sides, it was not even possible to sleep, when I complained about the noise at the reception, they always said that they would do something to reduce it, but nothing ever happened. the doors at all entrances dont close, so if people dont slam the doors properly, anyone can get into the buildings, Ive witnessed many times that people who have no business getting into the building walk in and knock on door try to sell things. The complex only appears to be renovated from a distance. Mold in the bathroom covered with paint that started to come to the surface in just a few weeks, balcony floors painted so cheaply that it started peeling after the first rain. the wooden floor, which had many grooves and rakes, was only smeared with brown paint. the worst thing was that cockroaches came out of the shower drain and started to crawl all over the place. When I informed the management that we had cockroaches in the kitchen and they were crawling into our food, I had to wait several weeks before they came with the spray, unfortunately the cockroaches were back in a few days. when I finally moved out, I cleaned everything up. In a few weeks, we were charged over a thousand dollars for the hooks on the walls where I used to hang pictures. I have always taken care of the apartment and paying such an amount for a few holes that are very easily repaired is simply absurd. this complex only cares that everything looks good on the surface and in the common areas, the service for the people who live there is unacceptable.

I see for the amount you give as rent, if you utilize the amenities and services and enjoy the environment, community here it really worth. DO NOT COMELived here for half a year and finally I cannot tolerate it and decided to move. The decision is hard because there is penalty for early termination of lease: 30 days notice + 2 months rent. The total cost is 3 months rent. So I strongly recommend avoiding this place.It’s A VERY VERY VERY NOISY PLACE. You can hear everything happening in neighborhoods. My apartment was on the 3rd floor (3rd floor is the top floor) and I expected it would be quiet since no one is up from me. However I was totally wrong. I can even hear the noice from people understairs walking and talking. The horrible thing is when children understairs jump in their rooms, I can feel the building shaking like earthquake. In addition, the exhaust fan in bathroom needs to operate 24 hours a day and every night I need to tolerant the noise from that.That’s not the worst case. Since I moved in, I submitted several requests for the BAD SMELL in my room. At first I thought it’s because of disposal and pipes. People came and cleaned up them. But the bad smell is still there. After several fix, the worker told me that the bad smell comes from the wall. There are several place in the room that bad smell can come out from the wall. He tried to block a hole from the wall under the sink. But that even did not work because there are other places leaking the bad smell, such as from cabinets. I also tried Fabric Spray and Odor Fighter, but it made the situation even worse. I can smell both smells at the same time! At last I gave up because the building is so old that you cannot expect people to fix the issue by simply block holes one by one.SO DO NOT COME!

They have good service, amenities, big and newer pool, tennis courts, good club house, been happy. The apartment size could be bigger and bathrooms I have seen do not have windows. But maintenance crew including Victor and Nachos have been nice and prompt with service requests.

Actual rating 0/5.I generally dont write reviews but in this case I have to, because the amount of harassment I am going through I do not want future residents to go through the same. Future and current residents please read this before you consider living here.I am a current resident. Due to some unfortunate situation I want to terminate the lease early. So, I considered the following solutions:1) Sublease - They wont allow any sublease or change of occupancy.2) Early termination of lease - I read my rental agreement when I had signed it and I read it again now. There was no mention of early termination or any conditions of early termination. I ask the current residents - do you know if, God forbid, you are in a bad situation and you have to terminate your lease, what you will do and how much you need to pay them? No, because they have hidden clauses. A rental agreement is supposed to build trust, if one has hidden clauses then how can I trust them anymore? How do I know if there is any other hidden clause about something else?Well, They brought out their hidden clause about terminating early, the two options they gave me were:(a) 30 days notice + 2 months rent(b) 30 days notice + Be rent responsible until they find a tenant, if the current market price is less than the current rent then I have to pay the delta.I would never have signed the lease if I knew about these clauses. They only want to make money and do not care about your situation. I feel so helpless but they do not care. So, I would recommend please stay away from Prometheus.I have talked at length over call and emails explaining my situation and trying to understand where this hidden clause come from. But all I get from them is Since the early termination clause might change at any time we do not put them on the lease - which sounds totally illogical and a bad excuse. They could have just said subject to change or something.

I have lived here for a year and decided to renew my lease for a second year. While there are many apartments to choose from (and I did visit other places), I decided to stay with Spruce for several reasons:Location: It is really close to a lot of things (and some are walkable from the apartment), like grocery stores, park and community center, restaurants. The neighborhood also feels very safe and the buildings are secure.Apartment: The apartment has upgraded interiors and hardwood style floors. Theres an in-unit W/D that is really convenient and my apartment (top floor) gets a lot of natural lighting. This was a very important consideration for me given work from home situation and the many plants I have. It is also generally very quiet where I am.Leasing office team: The team here at Spruce is very, very responsive. There were a couple times I had service requests and they were always addressed and fulfilled quickly. I also appreciate that Spruce is very proactive in their communication to residents (fire alarm testing notices, suspicious activity happening and how they are addressing it, clarifying evacuation orders during fires, etc). I also worked with Danielle very closely during the renewal process and she was very quick to answer any questions and to get all the documents in order.Amenities: The clubhouse and pool areas are a great bonus to all the pros of living here.

Lived here for a year. Everything was good till my car got break in over night while parked in my parking spot. Also I can hear my upstairs neighbors steps every single day after new neighbors moved in, I can’t head anything from previous neighbors. Have to say if they have some rug or wear softer slippers would help. But cannot force your neighbor do that so I moved out.

Ive lived here for over a year in a 1b1b and Id like to call this place my home :)We totally enjoyed living here.Waking up to peaceful views, friendly neighbors, casual walks in the evening, celebrating our functions in the conservatory, spending time in the pools and hot tub, fitness center and playing in the tennis/volleyball courts and the list goes on.You can totally think of a resort style living.Thanks to the amazing spruce team who made this experience so amazing and also the maintenance team who are just a click/call away and they are so prompt.Id totally recommend this place if you are looking to move in.

Overall I do not recommend. This was a poor rental experience with more downsides than benefits. I would have given Spruce 2 stars but the move-out experience was painful and showed a side of Spruce that I would describe as unfair and predatory to tenants.Pros- Close to restaurants, grocery stores, walking distance to downtown Sunnyvale- Hardwood floors, modern interior- Spacious community with modern amenities. The main pool area is niceCons- Paper thin walls, you will hear your neighbours- Noise throughout the day. In the day there is constantly maintenance work (leaf blowers, lawn mowers).- Incompetent Management. Prepared to be bombarded with emails and signs that management acts without thinking and doesnt try to solve root problems with the community like package management and noise issues- Theft. Although we were not impacted, we get reports of stolen property, packages, and there was even a mugging incident recently- Price. Spruce refused to negotiate on renewal pricing even during a time when the average rate of rentals was lowered due to COVID-19.- The final move-out bill conveniently added up to $300 which was exactly my damage deposit. We spent a lot of time and effort to deep clean the unit and during the inspection only a carpet cleaning of $65 was noted. Yet somehow Spruce managed to produce a final bill of $300 and I cant help but be suspicious of manipulation of miscellaneous costs to exploit the full amount of my deposit.

It was a great experience living at Spruce. I stayed there for 21 months and had a great time there. Their services are pretty good. Nice Gym, Tennis court, Pool. Its pretty spacious. Ive been living at these apartments for about 6 months now, and I really love it. Moving in was very simple and easy; they offer tools to borrow to set up any furniture that you need to build. The amenities are great too. Theres 3 different pools, a hot tub, community buildings, a tennis court and more. The Spruce staff really care about their tenants, and it shows by their willingness to help address any concerns or questions that you have. The apartment itself is very nice and modern. Theres plenty of storage space in the kitchen and closets. The bedroom is the only room with carpet; the rest is hardwood floor. There is an A/C unit in the living room and bedroom, and both are controlled by two remotes. My only complaint about the apartment is that the walls and floors are not very soundproof. If someone upstairs decides to put all their weight into walking, youll hear it. If someone next door decides to talk very loud, youll hear that too. But honestly, its a minor annoyance compared to my experience with the staff, moving in, and the amenities offered.

I lived in Spruce for the last 3 years and had a very nice experience living here. The units are renovated with nice design and equipped with in-unit washer and dryer. The gym is very well cleaned and maintained, along with the pool, tennis courts, and other amenities/facilities. The location turned out to be one of the best things here - very close to downtown Sunnyvale, Whole Foods, Sprouts, El Camino, many IT companies etc.The staff here are very responsive and frequently schedule community events and activities. I was looking for a place that included washer and dryer inside the unit and this place seemed to fit it all- including the other important amenities such as a nice gym room with all the equipments and a great pool area. The management has been extremely nice with my requests to view several units before I finalized on the one that had ample sunlight. Initially the unit I signed up for had some issues and the management was kind to understand and allowed a complete change of unit. Do not come if you mind noise. I moved in on May and since then I woke up in Earthquake everyday. The roof is thinner than a 50-year-old house. For people upstairs they are just walking normally but for you it is like someone doing a construction.The worst part is that the management cannot do anything about it. I recently moved here two weeks ago. Overall I really like apartment. Wood flooring is great with the great appliances. Tennis courts are so much fun over the weekend and the weekly classes that just started for tennis are also interesting.My biggest issue with my unit is the smell. Right from day 1 the unit smells of curry, when you enter the unit. I tried using diffusers with all kinds of essential oils but nothing has worked. It is kind of embarrassing when people visit. I wish the management would have looked into this before handing me the apartment over.

Avoid if you do not want to surround with noise. Ive been waked up many times since sleep. I lived in second floor, the ceiling above me is paper thin. You can tell where the neighbor is in his apartment and every step is squeaking, not stomping so you will hard to ignore. No better from next doors. You will hear baby crying, dog barking, through windows, balcony, or wall, even two rooms away. Staff are nice but unable to solve any issues.Besides noises the community is a mess. There are people doing business from apartments such as babysitting or food provider. You will never know if you will deal with consistent smells or children yelling. Neighbors are hostile to discuss any issues even if you ask nicely.

Spruce is a very large apartment complex of multiple buildings. The grounds are well-kept and there are some really great amenities (although last I heard, there is a possibility of the pools and tennis courts being removed to build more apartment buildings, which I personally think would be a horrible thing). The apartments themselves are nice and anything that needs repair is easily fixed by staff. I had ups and downs with staff, but Karissa Avery has been phenomenal. I highly recommend working with her if possible. The main downsides are that its really expensive (rent and utilities) and it is unbelievably hard to get out of your lease early (you have to pay pretty unbelievably high amounts of money to break out of your lease). You can hear the people living above you walking around, so that can be frustrating too.

We chose to stay there because of the greenery and landscaping and a nice swimming pool.The apartment was in good shape but small and dark.The negative aspect was that almost every other day they we’re using noisy and dusty leaf blowers and lawn movers. Our cars and windows were covered with a layer of dust.They did not have a car wash and they did not have any electric car charging stations.We found unfriendly that they raised our rent by 8.3% and when we asked why so much, they told us that this was the maximum legally allowed increase. I moved into Spruce a couple of weeks ago and so far I love it here.To begin with, the location of spruce is spot on. There are so many grocery stores, restaurants, banks, a nice school, health centre etc.The amenities like, pool, cabana, game room, tennis and volleyball courts, gym are well maintained and are available. The accessibility is a plus.All the amenities are open for activity with careful sanitisation and covid friendly atmosphere.Socialising in the community is easy, I met a lot of like minded people in my first few weeks for actives like tennis, volleyball etc.The management is responsive and welcoming.Since, there is a lot of demand for the place, currently the prices are on the expensive end.Since I moved in, I have been hearing about cars being broken into, bikes being stolen etc. So the security is of a concern here. However, the management has responded and they are trying to improve security in the neighbourhood. Some security cameras around the neighbourhood might solve the issue.A special shoutout to Alexandria Allgood. She assisted us from the beginning in finding our home. Very sweet person, always there to help. Having people like her in the team is a definite plus. Me and my roommate’s suggestion, ask for Alex when you are around the place and she will take good care of you.

Weve had a pretty good experience here, have been here for about 10 months. Management is great about responding to any issues as far as Ive seen, theyre very active on the community portal.My only drawback Ive found is that I was surprised by the number of people living here that have a significant fear of dogs. This place was marketed as being very pet friendly, however I often find myself in awkward situations where someone is terrified of passing me and my dog in the hallway. I dont blame anyone for having a fear of dogs- we all have different experiences. However I probably would have moved elsewhere if I had known the extent that most of my neighbors would find discomfort with my pup. I dont want to cause anyone discomfort and imagine I would have been able to find a better suited place.Perhaps a solution would be making a few buildings pet friendly, and a few not pet-friendly. Additionally it would be nice if one of the fenced-in areas could act as a dog run, currently there is no area where dogs are able to have some space to go off leash. Luckily there are a few dogs parks close by.Overall my experience here has been good and I have no major complaints, just wish I could have spared my neighbors from fearful times.

So close to grocery stores, restaurants, banks, parks, gas stations, Target, CalTrain, Home Depot, etc. We never have to drive more than 5 minutes to get anything we need. Great access to all major freeways too, good for commute.We are also amazed at how quiet it is, despite being close to El Camino. The beautiful landscaping and large trees mean you have a great view and are insulated from noise. Plenty of parking and easy access in/out. Apartment interiors are very modern and nice quality, good layout and good sized. Kind of weird bathrooms (high toilet, low shower, fan always on), but not a huge deal. Management and maintenance is always very prompt. Online portal for requests and paying rent works well.Our work is moving, so we will be move too. The place is nice and I wouldve wanted to live here. However, because I just relocated from another country for work about a week ago and had no credit yet (and just got my SSN recently), they were asking for a months security deposit on top of the first months rent plus some other fees (total of about $7k on the first month for a 1x1).I explicitly explain my situation at the onset of each tour and ask for the requirements and fees but they tell you this only when you finally try to apply. I wasted a week on several Prometheus apartments (Spruce, Shadowbrook, Markham) only to find out about this. How do they expect somebody just starting out to be able to shell out that much at the onset?Thankfully, weve gotten better leasing conditions from Irvine apartments, Avalon communities, Eaves properties, Essex properties, Windsor properties, Brookdale (and sister companies), LMC, etc.UPDATE: As a response to the comment, I would disagree with the consistency part. Spruce and Shadowbrook did not know this up front. Only Anita from Markham brought this to light after our tour. When I called Spruce, only then were they able to confirm this. So, no, there was no consistency in communication.Also, just to be clear, Im not against the business model Prometheus. They have their own reasons to do this. But imagine starting out in a new country and being asked for $7k right off the bat.This review is intended for folks with a similar situation to back-off Prometheus Apartments and avoid the stress, hassle, and time wasted with them. There are other properties (listed in this comment) who will only ask for offer letters (with 2.5-3x salary vs the rent) and identification for the application process and with application and deposit fees not too different from other potential leasees.

Ive been staying at Spruce for one year, and Im about to renew my lease. I have had a great experience living here.Compared to the other apartments in the area, this is a great deal for what you get:- I have a parking spot in the garage on the first floor and the spots have plenty of space between them so my car doesnt get damaged. Theres always parking for guests.- You get washer/dryer in unit.- You get AC. My AC has worked great in winter and summer.- Nice hardwood floors. This feels more premium than pure carpet, and easier to clean.- I have a beautiful view of the courtyard with huge, mature trees right next to my window. This is a lot better than the view of parking lots that I am accustomed to.- Best maintenance crew I have ever had. Any time I have an issue they are usually there same day, or within 24 hours.- Awesome location. I can walk to Sprouts or Safeway. This delicious and cheap Mexican restaurant, Garcias Taqueria, is right across the street. I go there every week. Also within biking distance to downtown Sunnyvale. Lots of great bike lanes all around the area.- Neighbors have been very quiet. Pretty quiet complex overall.- We now have mail lockers which is very convenient.Some cons:- Sunnyvale is nice but Mountain View is a bit of a better location, in my opinion. However, this same apartment would be much more expensive if it were in Mountain View. Though you can bike to downtown, walking isnt that close.- Before the Amazon lockers, sometimes my packages were nowhere to be found. They could either be in my buildings mail room, at my front door, or in the complexs mail room. It was difficult to find my package sometimes. Thankfully, I was always able to get my packages eventually.- Not that great of a walking area around the perimeter of the buildings. Its all street and no sidewalk, so you have to walk where cars are driving. Theres speed bumps so they go slow, but a sidewalk would be better.- This isnt specific to the complex, but because of COVID you cant use the gym and other amenities. This sort of reduces the value of what youre getting.Overall, you cant go wrong with these apartments. A+

Im having a negative experience with Spruce Management.Despite being renting here since 3+ years the exit im experiencing make me feel I shouldnt have continued to renew my lease here. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to break the lease and despite attempts made to explain, they are very adamant on penalties which is a huge 2 month penalty + 30 day notice.This would be 3 months of rent ~ 9000$ to pay during these times. Some of my friends in similar situations in apartments like Olive garden apartment homes nearby have got considerations and are providing month-to-month options. I regret not going there .

Way too old buildings with many issues. The management is not ready to do any kind of repairs and just shrug away saying they can’t do anything about it. New tenants can enjoy the perks of rent discounts but renewal of lease is a waste.There have been many issues with maintenance and none of them had a solid resolution. No security cams, issues of missing/stolen packages. Be prepared to hear from the really polite staff of theirs - “these are old buildings. We can get you approval to move to another apartment within spruce.”Here’s my experience at spruce- this is my second year of lease and for the past 2 months there have been creeking noises in our ceiling at really odd times and are sleep disturbing. It took about 6 phone calls for them to look into the issue, then had to record the noises for them to understand the level of problem followed by a number of emails. The conclusion was that these are old buildings and that they can’t be repaired.

The new apartments have hardwood throughout, which means if you live beneath anyone you here everything...and in the halls from upstairs.The grounds are beautiful and the amenities are resort-like.The toilet is high off the ground, which is kind of awkward to get used to. Highly recommend NOT staying at Spruce Apartments for multiple reasons:1. Safety: Within a matter of 3 months, my car was broken into twice. In both cases, nothing was visible in the car, the car was locked, and parked in the garage. I bought a new car after the first break in, and it was destroyed within a month of purchase. Multiple car windows were shattered and had to be completely replaced. The second case with the new car was after COVID-19, so unless you want random people in your car during a pandemic, I would recommend going elsewhere. Other tenants have had their car wheels removed, windows shattered, electronics stolen, etc. Office staff refuses to install cameras or gates for the garages. Both cases were reported to the office staff and police and nothing was done. They say there is “security” that drives around but that does literally nothing, especially at a complex with 10+ buildings.2. Amenities: Do not be fooled by the amenities available such as the pool or bbq. The bbqs are rarely available during the summer because there are only 2 for the entire complex. The other amenities such as the gym and pool were closed for COVID-19 and zero refunds were provided for the ridiculously overpriced amenities. Even while they were open, the pool and the hot tub was not cleaned well.3. Mail: Multiple packages and mail, UPS/Amazon/USPS, have been lost that were never recovered. I also received many packages or mail from other apartment buildings that I had to return. They tried to implement new packages sent to the clubhouse, but thats an absolute disaster. You have to walk a half of a mile just to carry huge packages to your home, if they weren’t lost or stolen in the first place.4. Security Deposit: I was charged additional $250 more than my security deposit for the standard cleaning and paint. If it is standard, that makes no sense to be additional above the security deposit.5. Price: The price for a 1 bedroom apartment of that size and quality is outrageous, even for Silicon Valley. There are so many better options for the price. Do not let the fancy staged photos of the amenities and apartments make you believe it is worth anything close to that amount. Especially when the amenities cannot even be used due to COVID-19, it is definitely not worth the price. There are plenty gated, safer communities closer to Sunnyvale or Mountain View with equivalent quality.6. Office Staff: My overall experience with the staff was terrible between the car break ins, stolen/lost packages, etc. they either did not respond or did not do anything.

Hello apartment-searcher! Ive lived here for 1 year and decided to move to get a bit closer to my work. Overall, Ive loved living at Spruce (Pepperwood building) because:1. Quiet - its relatively quiet. I recommend living in a non-street facing apartment like I did. Ive loved opening my windows and most of the time you hear birds, wind, etc. Of course, this will depend on which building you live in.2. Nature - I like being surrounded by trees, nature, etc. and they did a great job styling the scenery. Right outside my patio and bedroom window, there are a bunch of tall trees (which is great, so I dont have to look at other buildings or a parking lot).3. Nice interior design and appliances - I live in a one bedroom, so Im not sure what their 2+ bedrooms look like. The countertop, drop sink, and new appliances are great. It has a very sleek, modern look, but also a simple palette (e.g. light gray accent walls, white / gray in kitchen) so you can spruce things up (see what I did there?). Im a huge fan of the open kitchen, which lets you look into the living room while cooking. The bathtub was a bit high for me, but I got used to it. That would be my only complaint.4. Responsive staff - every staff member (management, maintenance, etc.) that I interacted with was very kind and responsive. Maintenance would fix the problems I submitted (via their online portal) pretty quickly and they were very helpful! Thanks!5. No bugs & no security problems - when I was thinking about moving to Spruce, I was worried about the old negative reviews that talked about bug infestations and security / theft issues. My guess is that happened a long time ago and things are better now, at least from what Ive seen. Never had any bugs (although I live on the third floor). No security issues at all (buildings have unique keys, internal walkways are gated) and never had a problem with Amazon packages.6. Parking - you get one covered parking spot right beneath your building. I lived here with my girlfriend, so one of us would part in an uncovered spot. There were almost always spots open, so I never had trouble parking. Overall, expect constant headaches and cheap quality.First, the issues Ive experienced.General issues:- Everything is superficial. Both the cabinets and the flooring look good, but they are VERY cheap (cabinets are flimsy, the floors were full of scratches before I moved in). The carpet is paper thin, extremely cheap. Any remodelling they may have done is just surface level - just paint.- The bathtub shower is a refinished old one and is way too low. Im 511 and the water wont even reach my head. Not to mention they are old and they collect water pools on the sides.- As many have said, the walls are thin. I realize this gets said for many apartments, but they are REALLY thin. Thin like a normal volume TV can be heard from the hallway and from shared walls. Thin like I can hear my neighbors cell phone vibrate from a text message.- The front doors are hollow (also a security issue), and they are not insulated form the hallways. You can smell your neighbors food in the hallways, you can hear EVERY footstep from the hallway, and every door open and close.- Management is a joke. You can send them your issues but they wont respond until you post a review.- Security. Stolen packages. Broken in cars. Doors left open, leaving buildings open to public access. The apartment doesnt really care about security and I have never seen a single patrol car/person in the area in the past year. Ive even seen people stuffing doors with tissues to prevent them from closing. Ive also had maintenance person opening my door early one morning while I was in it - SO SCARY. They said it was the wrong apartment.- They dont care about the environment. At some point they added new sprinklers and these things were creating so much runoff water, not to mention they literally were watering pavement and parking lots. The water ended up going into a drain farther down the parking lot.- Inconsistent office hours. You will see they have hours like Office Hours: Open daily 9 AM - 6 PM but thats not true. Ive seen them closed for lunch multiple times, and they often have locked doors even 15 minutes before close time to avoid helping people.- Expect at least 1 false fire alarm a month. Ive experienced fire alarms as early as 3 am, waking me up. The worst part is they dont even know they are happening so the alarms can last 15+ minutes. Very irritating.- Dangerous elevators. Constantly out of service, the one in my building has a permit that expired in Oct 2017 - over a year ago! For example, it will not level with the floor and have a 2 inch gap sometimes! Avoid them if you value your safety.- Power has gone out roughly 10 times in the 2 years Ive been here, not all of them were attributed to PG&E... thats an annoying rate.- The air vents in the bathrooms are always running sapping electricity and are fairly loud.Personal issues:- The superficiality of their apartments became more evident when bees (between 30-50 bees!) started entering my home from gaps between the door frame and the walls on the balcony. This happened after they removed a beehive WITHOUT providing any notice to the residents around. I asked them to fix this and they said this was not important and fixed it after multiple days of bees entering my home. They didnt even fix it properly and the same thing continued to happen, not to mention they left scratches all over the sliding door.- When I moved in, I found over 20 carpet staples all over the bedroom. I definitely stepped on a few of them and got hurt. This is another way they cheaped out on remodelling the apartments.Now for the good:- Location is pretty good. Good access to shops and stores and major roads.- There is usually some parking available (not too much though) for guests.- Prices are fair - definitely not a value proposition, but fair. Expect them to increase rent every year to market rate.

Spruce is the one of the best apartment in Sunnyvale. It provides all the amenities which you will not get in most of the bay area apartments including AC, New renovated apartments, Washer Dryer within the unit, Nice club house, swimming pool, lot of open parking and lot more. Above all staff Is very cooperative and they helped me in every aspect specially at the time of move-out. I stay here for 1.5 years and needed to leave because of transfer but would love to stay here again in future.

And the staff are the most IRRESPONSIBLE Ive ever experienced.For the passed couple of months, Ive lost at least 6 packages.After I lost my 5th package from Amazon, I went to the leasing office and showed them a picture uploaded to my Amazon account that shows the package was left at my front door. She simply said it could have been delivered to another building with the same apartment number, since all front doors of the same building look the same. I didnt buy it but had no proof to argue back. Then I left a dummy package outside my door at 11pm the same night and its gone the next morning I opened the door. Clearly, someone is stealing from me and that person has access to my floor. I called the leasing office with my findings and was told their manager would get back to me. Never happened. I went down to the leasing office and asked to speak with their manager a couple of days later. They told the same story that the manager would call me when he came back. Again, he never called.Last week, I lost another package from Amazon. This time, the Amazon photo has my door mat in it. I emailed the photo to the leasing office and pointed out that this was the hard evidence that someone stole my package from my door step. Very disappointingly, the staff were still trying to sell me the story that the package was miss delivered after I clarified its theft THREE TIMES. They just keep denying this is a security issue so that they dont have to be responsible. I insisted that they alert all the residents of the theft. They resistantly agreed to send out a notice on the evening of last Friday. Now that 5 days have passed. I havent heard anything.Stay away from Spruce, not only because of the security issues but also the way the management team handles them.

TL;DR: Typical Bay Area apartments: old (but renovated), noisy, expensive, not at all worth the price. We lived there for 1 year. Vacated last month due to renovation they asked all of us in the building to vacate. When we started living there the management was very good. Later management got changed and they are okay now. Renovated pool and gym and leasing office is very good. Ofcourse roaches are problem in this apartment. Never seen bed bugs. Passage area in any building does not have air circulation. That smells. Price also high. But this apartment is so huge that you can make lots of friends and your kids can find lots of other kids for playing. Still has some charm left in this but was looking like fading away. I recommend this for anybody who are okay to live with roaches and dont bother too much on how management really care you when you approach them. Renovated houses seems to really good.It has 4 tennis courts + very good gym + excellent pool. + ofcourse okay management + lots of roaches :)

As a matter of shame, instead of giving me a peaceful residential space until my lease ended, the construction work started making it noisy and dangerous for residents eleven days before. My concerns on this went on deaf ears. How can I forget all those lousy Sr. Directors of neighborhoods Prometheus is hiring to harass the residents at Spruce? I am keeping their name off the public for obvious reasons.c) Rents are very high compared to other properties in Sunnyvale. I suggest shop around as many of Spruce buildings are leased out to guest house arrangements when I last left. Don’t get fooled by filled buildings(which also suggests how once almost full neighborhood today struggles to fill its apartments by leasing entire buildings)d) Buildings are poorly designed for ventilation. I am a vegetarian and got annoyed often by meat food smell during weekends. The front doors has a gap underneath and if you keep patio doors open, air loves to move from someones kitchen through hallway into your home.e) Utility charges were unreasonable. They just kept going up. The effective rent is usually at-least $100/month more for a single family.

I have just signed the lease so I havent really stayed here. My review is strictly based on my experience with the leasing team esp Nicole Carmona. She is a very kind, wonderful and supportive person who makes her best efforts to meet the needs of a prospective tenant.I relocated back to Bay Area at a time when not many apartments were available in the area. After an exhausting search, I chose to go with Fair Oaks even though they did not have the apartment (size/location) I was looking for as at least the complex has many amenities which my parents will like if they visit. I thought I will move to a bigger and sunnier apt within the community once I am there. So I signed up for whatever was available and was told that I have 3 days to cancel the application if I found something better. I was pleasantly surprised to get an urgent call and email from Nicole on the 4th day telling me that a bigger apartment just became available and I should come visit asap. I ended up signing up for the new one. I dont know how my experience will be residing in this apartment but the gesture from Nicole was touching and much appreciated.I will update my review about the experience living within fair Oaks once I move in.

The apartments have bed bugs. and due to this issue we had to bear a big cost as all our stuffs - Bed, sofa and furniture were spoiled. The management was even harsh to wash off their hands from the issue. Every other apartment have bed bug issues and they never admit its the property issue they keep trying to push blame on resident although within a day of move in we identified the bugs and reported. They keep saying they have renovated but the renovation is only superficial the underlying bugs problem has not been resolved at the root level. The apartment has some pros and cons:Bad: the flooring sound proof is in such a horrible condition that you ll have night mares based on who is staying above you. It’s such pathetic. You hear absolutely every noise, from walking, vacuuming, moving around etc. literally you can’t have a peaceful stay.The side walls are no better, you get to hear the next neighbor shower sounds. Having lived here for more than a year now (lived in different apartments in past 6 years), I do not think these apartments are cost worthy.For 670 sq ft, you may more than 2.8k dollars per month, with stagerring YoY rent increases (8.4% in my recent one!!!).The ceilings are very poor that there is constant thumping even if someone above you is just walking. You can literally hear them walking from one room to another.This is not neighborhood issue as even in other forums Ive seen people complaining and so in the neighborhood.The bathrooms are way small and the flush is very low flow so it gets clogged quite easily.

The Spruce team offered $100 to the party people so that they can buy some area rugs! What a awesome management team! Other than this free $100 deal, the team responded me as there is not much else we can do. Bummer! Literally, the Spruce team took the below 3 steps:1. sent the noise making people a notice, hey chill!2. gave them free $1003. oh btw, H307 is multi families living in this 1BB unit. All noise are expected. :DFascinating that it is written on the lease that parties cant go too wild. Come on, its covid time!21.a Residents are to be considerate of their neighbors at all times.21.b If noise can be heard outside of the apartment home or through adjoining walls or floors, then it is too loud.21.f: Multiple complaints can lead to the termination of tenancy.It has been a really splendid time to cope with these people during covid. We were staying at home 24/7 due to the lockdown. We find pleasure in hearing people walking loudly, just like elephants stepping on the floor. We hear children throwing toys on the ground, and of course, these adorable kids screaming and running around all the time. We found it very hard to focus on work during the day time and we could not rest at night thanks to these noise from our upstairs neighbors. Let me put it this way, theres nearly nothing good that I have to say about Fair Oaks West. Firstly I am staying here for the summer through national corporate housing, in case that makes any difference in your reception of this review. That said, the first and biggest problem is the cockroaches. One of the few residents who approached me on my first day had nothing to say but there are a lot of bugs. He was right. It wasnt a day before I saw the first one, and its only been getting worse since I arrived 3 weeks ago. They are providing pest control which I hope will actually work. The second biggest issue is the lack of air conditioning. Multiple times I have had to sleep in the dining area on 4 chairs as to be under the fan to get any sleep at all. The building is louder than I am used to, and the water from the shower is tinted brownish orange every morning for a few seconds after its turned on. The next issues probably have something to do with corporate housing rather than the property itself, but I didnt receive any key fob for the propertys amenities, and there were no lamp shades in my apartment, and no microwave. I also got 2 sets of the wrong keys to my mailbox and the front door of the building, but luckily the front door is never locked. Many of the other interns from my company have moved out, and I was offered a chance to do the same, but I mistakenly turned it down because it was before the insect issue got worse. The issues are slowly moving down the chain to guest services, but so far I have only heard back about pest control, none of the other issues. I would hope they stop putting interns up in this complex, but if not, and you happen to have just been assigned here yourself, Id really suggest requesting a change before arriving. I wish I had known. To prospective renters: your experience may be better, and I hope for everyones sake it is. This is a nice apt and nice complex, just with a few issues that really ruin it for me.

I did not had a good experience living there. The floors, ceilings are made of paper (very old construction). It just noise, noise and noise. There are no security measures, which provides safe access to thieves and unknown people to enter into the buildings. Parcels and couriers getting stollen is a daily thing. I am residing in this apartment for quite some time (over a year now). Along with the jolly and socially active community, this apartment has got almost all the good features which are present in good high class apartments. There are lot of extra curricular games and activities that you can indulge in. I like especially the BIG heated swimming pool and the Pool room where you can play and kill your time, not to forget relax up after your busy office day.The recreation centre folks are also nice to hear your problems and address them. The summer never goes without a barbecue in the swimming pool area.I will keep residing here and will recommend it to anyone. A place to must-live!

These are just money making people. I had to leave this place as they increased the rent too much for my lease renewal. I got a better place than Spruce apartment less than the rent they were offering for renewal. Initially when I leased an apartment they offered 1 month off with 12 months lease which made the average rent attractive, I tried to negotiate the offer for renewal, but they did not even reduce a single dollar, neither did offer the one month off offer, so I decided to move on. They had a deposit of about 2.9 K which had to be refunded. I was shocked when I saw the move out charges. They charged me about $1178 (apart from utilities due), which included $500 for cooking odor removal, and $247 for cooktop replacement. After a lot of email exchange, and visiting their office they waived the cooktop charges, but refused to waive the odor removal charges, but they never gave a reason why these problems were not told to me earlier. I know my apartment was vacant atleast for 1 month after I moved, and now they have more than dozen vacant ones. I know they lost revenue because I made a move, but this is not a way to cover your losses, had they given me a month off at renewal or negotiated the offer, they must have not lost this revenue, really bad at business. If you care about your money, this may not be the right place.

It is of the best places to live in Sunnyvale. There is plenty of parking available so that you dont have to worry finding empty spot. Common areas are kept very clean. I really wish something was done about the gardening going around in this complex. Every day there is some activity, if not right in front of your window, in the parking lot across. Leaf blowers, grass cutters etc.The noise, the exhaust smell, the dust are at very high levels. Why not replace those gas fueled devices with electric ones ? The community is great, the facilities are awesome, and, specially, the staff is so kind, helpful and proactive. Ive been a neighbour for almost a year and have always had very good experiences whenever I needed any help or assistance from them. I went here to tour apartments as we were looking to move from studio to 2 b apartment.Apartment is very conviniently located but after bed bugs issue(heard from friends and reviews) in these apartments when new management took over- it feels they are over charging for new apartments to recover money to renovate old apartments. you will find other good options nearby in lesser amount even if you are looking for family oriented society there are plenty nearby ! we found one. .Cant comment about renovated apartment itself or amenities as we didnt rent.staff was nice ! and a star only for them.

Dont trust them. Get everything in writing. I am paying the price of it.When I got the lease, they told me that by your 6th month, you will get a notice to vacate the apartment for renovation after which you can vacate it any time without incurring any additional cost or rent liabilities.Now when I have got the notice, they want me to give them a 30 day notice period and also pay the rent till the end of lease.

NEVER EVER EVER COME TO THIS PLACE.I recently moved to this place because the community features were good. I rented 2 bd apartment. and guess what? When I entered into the apartment, I saw dead cockroaches in kitchen with cabinates off. I talked to management and they said oh ya the cleaner might have forgot to clean and put the things in place. Really guyz? Is it your warm welcome to new tenet? On top of that, they didnt give me all the keys coz they forgot to make. They didnt show me my parking spot, they didnt show me my mail box.On the next day I found bed bugs lying on my bed. Really? When I complained to them about it, they sent some moron to inspect and he said that I brought those here. I didnt have any bug in my last apartment and by looking at my old stuffs they decided to blame me. On top of it they forced me to pay $1500 for the treatment. HELL I never seen such a terrible management with liars and irresponsible people. I am so disappointed and mentally broken, same as my wife. They completely robbed me.I strongly recommend to stay away with these cheaters. Never ever think about this place. Dont go for community features. Stay away..

Bryanna Herman was the representative who showed me an apartment and asked me to lease online tomorrow.I liked the apartment and called her before I applying for the apartment. She asked me to fill up the application online and I filled and submitted the application for J209 .Soon after in next 5 minutes she called and said that the apartment is not more available and I was shocked to hear that because I have already submitted my credit application for the same.She also conveyed that no other apartment is available to lease .Now my position is worse since my credit history was affected due to mistake of your representatives. Will Prometheus answer for my loss here ? Or the representative at fair oaks ?.Im totally disappointed with the service provided at Fair Oaks West apartments Sunnyvale and Id like to spread a word of caution to my friends and colleagues regarding the same.and Id not recommend any of your apartments to my friends and colleagues.

This comfortable residence is located in Sunnyvale, near the heart of silicon valley. The apartments are modern and totally furnished. You can enjoy you free time in a pretty external area playing tennis, swimming, relaxing in hot water in a huge jacuzzi and doing a BBQ with your friends.

We stayed there for close to 2 years, initially all went well until we were settling down and hardly using any facilities. later when we try to use few facilities most of the facilities are encroached by a group of ppl all the time and overcrowded, treated as private property(namly tennis courts, pool tables, tt table, warm pool swimming lanes, gym etc), inside the apt we had a zoo like experience, besides cockroaches, we have had rat visiting our apt, bee hives in patio, bed bugs..u name it :). Management : insensitive and irresponsible, infact i find them helpless in treating bee problem..at least they sting 3 times to my kids and it too several follow ups to finally do something for it.very firm with payment though...late payment charges are never revoked irrespective of any reason of late payment..u should forget about deposits.one good thing was my parents visited during that and found homely due to company of other parents visiting. also other close companions were in that apt so gave it a try close to 2 years but finally frustrated enough to move out.

Very friendly staff and theyve been very helpful ever since my move. Aislynn and Mayra deserve a special mention for going the extra mile in the times Ive needed it. Aislynn arranged for trash pick up from my apartment when I told her that I have a lot of it accumulated because Ive just moved. Similarly, Mayra helped me carry several of my heavy boxes when the courier service had misdelivered them. Im very pleased with my stay so far.

Pathetic Customer service and rude staff takes away all the happiness that amenities gives you. Staff does not have curtesy to speak properly to existing customers. Half of the staff is unsure what they are doing. Instead of onsite customer service they can just open customer care on-call which gives standard answers.Avoid this place. Once you are IN then they will charge 1 and half month rent for breaking lease!

Fair Oaks West is best apartment complex, with lots of green space,and filled with fun, sports, kids and elderly activities...The staff is really nice and they comprehend situations/maintenance issues really well and respond to them effectively...I lived there from September 12 to June 131) unlike other people are reviewing staff is really nice and effective...tell them their problem, they respond back or act pretty well infact really well.. Alan, Orlando, Yuvonne, Crystal, Stephany, Dawn all are really nice people...2) cockroach problem...No Problem... when we moved in, we did face cockroach problem ( but then its in other south bay apartment complexes too)..but we had the treatment done provided by them,,and it was too effective that after that we didnt see a single cockroach for our whole stay period...3) keep ur kitchen neat and clean and food covered,,ull not see a single cockroach.. My better half always used to clean kitchen before retiring to bed at night and it does keep cockroaches away...4) Do report cockroach problem to them, if u see any,,they really make sure to give u a nice treatment..and its non toxic to human body...i am an allergic so i can say, treatment done was safe .4) Bed bugs are not common there, THAT IS TRUE, they handover the apartment to tenants bugs free,,they usually comes from luggages or other carriers.. we did not buy second hand mattress or furniture...that really helps ..when we did buy second hand furniture we saw it properly dt its clean and cockroach/bug free..5) They have security patrol vehicles taking frequent rounds of all buildings assuring safety..6) Our move out was easy and hassle free.Thanks to FOW for our lovely stayPuneet

Rents are overpriced .. do not go by looks of club house. everything is closing at 6 PM and it is only good for looking but not for using. infect lot of facilitys are taken away (childrens activity room, movie cinema room, pool room, all yoga and other activity..not recommend to anyone.lot of cockroches in all buildings. pest control and other treatment does not work.

My family was moving from India and I was worried they will miss India .. Hence to avoid homesickness, I choose this apt complex which is more or less a desi joint .. also you can manage without a car in the short term for commute to work, doing groceries .. amenities are good with heated swimming pool and tennis courts etc ..Minus points are old corridor style, cockroaches .. cockroach WAS a menace when we moved but we waged a war and won .. asked management to do pest control twice .. also i read the best way to get rid of them is to starve them to death .. SO kitchen and sink are cleaned before we go to bed with absolutely no food particles .. This is done with MILITARY style punctuality .. now the menace is over .. may be the word got around in their colonies ;)Management is a mixed bag .. some are friendly and some are rude ..Overall it is a good place to start with .. not bad at all ..

I only live here for 15 days so far, my company rented this apartment for me for temporary housing. The first day I lived here, I was woke up by FALSE FIRE ALARM at 3AM!!!!! I thought it was an accident, but it was NOT. 2 weeks later, I was woke up again at 3AM!!!!!!! by FALSE FIRE ALARM. Still not the end. A third FALSE FIRE ALARM happened the day after, I felt so lucky it was only 11pm and only lasted for 5 mins . I dont know whether there will be more FLASE ALARM during the following 3 week I have to live here, I bet there will be! If you plan to live there, please be sure to have your clothes in handy place so as to prepare for the frequent FLASE FIRE ALARM now and then.OK, you may have read the response from the office saying that they have already fixed the faulty alarm. However, it is now 11:00pm, Jul 28. FIRE ALARM AGAIN. I hope it is a real one. I will not go out since I am on the first floor, I will survive if the fire really comes...UPDATE: Aug,1, 1:00am, the 5th time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont believe what they said.
